Valentin Perla Blanca: A great vacation

We really enjoyed our time here. The staff are lovely and try very hard. The food was good and we never went to bed hungry. We enjoyed all of our a la cartes and the food was lovely. The beach here is beautiful and had lots of great beach walks. This has been my favourite Cuban resort thus far. The bus ride is long to the resort but interesting as you get to see lots of Cuba. Only complaint if you could call it that is a few times beer was hard to find but we adapted. Came home relaxed and happy [... read more]! Please make sure you convert your CUC back to CND before you head to the airport. They are phasing the CUC out in April and the lineup at the bank in the airport is INSANE!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Good resort for Cuba for price.

Great services from all employees. Older hotel but they try the best to accommodate. Beach and food had great varieties need French fries for under 30’s Bring condiments( salt,ketchup,Tabasco,salad dressing, etc.)

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Beautiful Resort, but...

Angsana, Cayo Santa Maria is a very beautiful adults only resort! Being able to snorkel off both the amazing main beach and the quiet beach was a bonus! Our very clean modern room was fantastic! Comfortable king size bed, hot shower, and stunning 180 degree ocean view off the balcony was the best we've had at an all inclusive. Staff was excellent and drinks were good (bar staff was fabulous). Good entertainment in the lobby bar but it happened when most people were at dinner and finished at 10:0 [... read more]0, and then nothing. As they say you don't go to Cuba for the food and this was certainly the case here.There was a LONG list of things that were not available, the buffet is under staffed and service there is slow. Oh, and bring your own spoon, because you may have to eat ice cream with a fork! The Italian a la carte was quite good. Service is excellent! This was the most severe shortage of things in Cuba that we have experienced in 12 years. Would recommend this resort for the wonderful things mentioned above but not the food.

Melia Las Dunas: GREAT GET AWAY!

GREAT HOTEL Beautiful beaches, great pools, all staff were friendly and very helpful. No shortage of food or beverages. Nightly entertainment. Rooms were clean and close to everything. Looking forward to my next vacation and we will definately stay at the Las Dunas.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great 2 weeks!

This is our second trip to oceans! We did 2 weeks this year... we can’t say enough about the beach! So clean! a very well laid out resort. Very large, lots of walking but easy to get around. No complaints about the food. Staff are wonderful always there to fulfill your needs. Rooms are clean and fresh smelling but the beds and pillows need an up grade. Great bang for your buck. We would return. The catamaran trip was also fantastic!

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: new hotel has growing pains

Here is our experience: at the buffet the staff is disorganized and the food wasn't good. We are not picky, and didn't have high expectations, but a lot of the food was inedible. And it's amazing how many different ways you can serve cut up hot dogs :) Bring your own salt and pepper, ketchup and hot sauce if you like it for flavour. The last night there were some extra condiments offered, so perhaps they are on the way to providing something better. The 24 hour snack bar only had a portion of the items on it's menu, never had pizza for instance. We did not go to an a la carte restaurant as we had heard it wasn't very good and you waited a long time for your food, but no first hand experience. The room was very nice, although oddly, the shower doesn't provide much privacy so if you were traveling with a friend or relative and were shy about nudity, you may feel uncomfortable. It's not inside a private room. I was there with my husband so no problem for us. The best rooms in my opinion would be in building 4 or 5, on the second floor, (or 3rd if you want more exercise) Get ones with "odd" numbers, that way your balcony faces the sunset. The other buildings are either too close to the construction next door (#'s 1, 2, 3), and the others (6, 7 and 8) are quite far from the lobby and bars (nearby beach bar and pool bar close at 6). there are a lot of other rooms in a huge building above the restaurants and lobby, but I'm not sure anyone uses them yet, so I cannot elaborate. I'm not sure there was even half the capacity of the hotel filled. Thank goodness, as they're not prepared for full capacity. There is a coffee maker in the room and mugs, but no coffee, so bring your own ground coffee, sugar/sweetener, creamer and spoon. If you like tea, bring your own bags and a mug as the only mugs are really small, just for coffee. Also, bring a roll of toilet paper to carry around as often the public washrooms were without. The beach is beautiful. There are lots of chairs and shade. The beach staff is friendly and help you set up and brush the sand off the chair. They also come around often and take drink orders. Regarding drinks, the beer is plentiful and good, but there was no white wine and every night they ran out of red wine. We took to hoarding some red wine early evening for a night cap on the balcony - ha! We've traveled a lot and been to many all inclusives and this one had the most problems, including many other small ones I haven't mentioned here. Hopefully, it will all improve with time.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Ocean holiday

I will start with the positive . Excellent beach, great hospitality, clean room, friendly staff & good entertainment. The negative, no spoons, no vino blanco, only cola for mix at some of the bars. CAUTION when swimming at the beach found broken plates near shore in the water found while snorkelling. In all typical Cuba vacation, can’t beat the weather.

Paradisus Los Cayos: Excellent resort

The staff are the main plus quickly followed by the high standard of facility. The resort is only about 14 months old and still really shows its "newness". Rooms, public areas and grounds are very well maintained. Staff treated us very well. Always a smile from everyone. Would definitely go again. Have already recommended to friends.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Very good resort

The room was spacious, poolside amazing, place spots to have a drink or a meal . Beautiful beach . People all nice and very helpful. There was a lot of food, big choice off fish, many fruits and vegetables

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Awesome resort!

Just came back from this resort. We loved everything about it. The staff, location, service, food were amazing! Weather was not great, but it’s their winter so nothing to complain about. We will be coming back again next year.

Really enjoyed the resort and all it had to offer rooms clean staff really friendly surroundings pleasant all in all an enjoyable week was had by all weather good pools lovely great beaches good service. Internet weak.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful new resort. Amazing beach!

The hotel was beautiful and the staff very nice. The beachfront was amazing! My only complaint was the food. Even for Cuba standards it was awful. They need to have more vegetables at the pasta bar and lots of fresh fruit

Memories Paraiso: Poor resort

This hotel is in need of many repairs to the rooms the pool area and general maintenance. The food selection wasn’t great. They certainly don’t practice food safety when preparing food. The staff were lovely with the exception of the man who refilled the room fridge. He was rude and stingy. The beach was beautiful. I would not recommend staying at this resort.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Fantastic resort

This hotel was an older resort but it was kept very clean, and well maintained. The workers were Constantly cleaning and upgrading, example, new walkway to beach. The servers were great. Always going around refreshing your drinks. Variety of food was great. Always something to eat. Beautiful grounds. Highly recommend this resort. Beaches were absolutely amazing. Great snorkeling

My daughter and I really enjoyed our time at Ocean Casa del Mar. Staff were wonderful and tried hard to make our stay happy and comfortable. The beach crew is amazing! Kudos to the beach bar staff and beach grill cooks! The front desk and customer service staff were exceptional and took care of all our needs and special requests. The beach is simply gorgeous! We didn’t spend much time at the pool but there was daily entertainment as well as music and animation. Would definitely go back. Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Nice Resort, lack of bottled water, not a spot for young people

We had a great and relaxing week at Dhawa resort, its updated, modern and very clean. The staff were amazing, especially Carlos, Kevin, Leonardo, Mickey, Yalenia, and Yadiani. They were always so accomodating and so excited to see us around the resort. However, we went as a group of 10 girls on our university graduation trip and came to realize it is a resort for older folks or couples. There was no nightlife, nightclub or anything of that sort, but we still had a blast with the amount of people [... read more] we were with. We tried playing music in the lobby bar but received dirty looks from the bar staff and other guests when trying to make it a bit more lively. The biggest complaint was the lack of available water. As many are aware, non-bottled water can make tourists very ill, when me and my roomate arrived we had nothing in our mini fridge and were dehydrated and parched from a long day of travelling. when we asked the front desk they said we had to speak to customer service that was not going to be there until 10 am the next morning. After that we only got 1 bottle of water a day between two people. We were dehydrated and parched. Secondly. we requested a room with 2 beds and walked in to one king size bed, it was not much of an issue for us, but we had heard from other guests that the same thing had happened to them. The maids are amazing and trustworthy, everything was very clean as well as the maintenance of the resort. The buffet was nothing special, but it wasnt terrible and the cooks are extremely friendly. The a la cartes were good, just not very big portions or a wide selection. (Marichelle - not sure how to spell it, was the best) In the lobby bar, you could be waiting 20 minutes for a drink before they look at you, so make sure u bring money to tip. THE EXCHANGE RATE FOR PESOS AT THE RESORT- PATHETIC. The snack bars pizza was very good, but on the weekends the service is very slow, as the local cubans come into the resort and practically take over. Overall, was a great resort and a great week, but if you are looking for partying and fun, this isnt the place for you.

Everything was really good we loved our stay but, one thing that i didn’t like was our room phone didn’t work and i told them they didn’t fix it n told me to complain about it to my travel agent and the wifi was limited

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Wonderful vacation

All around beautiful resort, the grounds are well taken care of, and the beach was fantastic. You always hear bad things about Cuban resort food but we had zero issues here, good quality and different dishes. Staff were pleasant and accommodating. Would highly recommend.

The accommodations were clean and beds comfortable. Beach is very large and well maintained. Staff friendly and helpful. Landscaping beautiful. Buffet missing veggie variety, healthy cereal, no bacon and ran out of beer 2 days.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Great snorkeling!

There are some really good things about the Dhawa and some not so great. Ocean view room was beautiful and there was a screen door so we could hear the ocean at night. The shower was great and we always had good pressure and lots of hot water.The fixtures and furnishings were the best we've seen in our 7 trips to Cuba. 99% of the staff were so friendly. We never used the pool, but it was clean and very large. The beach is not overly long but there were always chairs and palapas available. The walk-in snorkeling directly from the beach was really good. There were Hobie cats, paddle boats and kayaks to use. We don't partake in the animation activities, but it didn't seem like there was alot going on in the day. Some of the evening entertainment was great like the Micheal Jackson show, the International show and the Aquatic show. There was nice entertainment in the lobby area but unfortunately it is set up in the smoking area which made it hard to get a seat and also not pleasant for non-smokers. The lobby is spacious with plenty of other seating away from the smoking area though. Not sure why but this trip we experienced the most shortages of food and drink. The food was good but you were never sure if what you liked one day would be available the next. We're pretty easy going and just tried something else. Also you had to ask for a spoon which isn't a big deal, but the buffet was understaffed so often people were getting up and looking for them at the wait station.The Italian a la carte was good and the seafood a la carte just so so for me. There was always wine at the a la cartes but at the buffet and the bars it was hard to get. It was usually a white sparkling that was available. The red and white when they had it was just okay. Overall we would go to the Dhawa again, but if the quality was any less the next time it would be our last time there.
