I had such a good time at this resort. It's definitely called resonance musique for a reason, music plays almost all day long and everywhere. One of the nights the party and music was loud until 3am. If you're looking for a party scene, this is it. If you like a more quite spot this isn't the resort for you. The grounds was well kept but lots of cigarette butt's every where. Beach was gorgeous! I do not go to cuba for the food and it was even alittle worse than I expected. You can make due, chee[... read more]se, fruit, some meat are great. But alot of shortages as well. The cuban people are just so pleasant and nice all the time. They love us Canadians! They even put the Toronto Maple Leafs on the big screen for people to watch during playoffs. Now that's service!
Overall I had such a great time I would definitely go back.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Best Resort in Cuba
Rooms are spacious and quiet. Resort is spacous and everyting is in working order. I've stayed here twice now. The staff are friendly. There are multiple bars. They all have good service. The food is so so, but okay. You don't go to Cuba for great quizine.
The clientel are primarily Canadian. It's a relaxing adult only atmosphere.
Tennis rackets and tennis balls are available. But hunting them down can be a challange.

Hotel Playa Coco: Another trip to our home away from home
This is our fourth trip to Hotel Playa Coco, Cayo Coco in a year. Once we found this gem we don’t go anywhere else.
From our first visit we made lifelong friends in the staff and other repeat guests. Does the resort have age? Yes. Does that matter? No. They are constantly upgrading services, menus, and accommodations. The impression at this resort is that the staff and management care about the property. They take pride in their work, their place of work and their role in making this resort [... read more]the 4-star it is.
The pool is lovely, the animation team sends a lot of time both at the pool and beach to encourage guest participation and entertainment as well.
The beach is one of the greatest beaches in Cuba. Mandy and all the workers on the beach will make sure you find a seat under a palapa, assist you if necessary, and keep the beach secure! With the 24-hr snack bar and the beach bar right there, you will never go without a snack or a drink. The Pizza Place is also an option, just behind the snack bar from the beach. All the servers will make sure you have a lovely lunch experience there!
The buffet offers quick service, a variety of food both cooked fresh as you watch and already cooked and ok the buffet. Fruits and vegetables are aplenty. Morning omelettes, smoothies, cereal, etc… Afternoons and evenings bring a la cartes, desert tables and drinks at the lobby bar.
The property is in pristine shape. Some of the walkways need repairs, especially if you are in a wheelchair, but still; none are impassable. The rooms are clean, and well maintained. We have been in both a room and a suite. Both were cleaned and replenished equally. We did have a toilet issue this trip on day one. However, just talked to the desk and it was dealt with while we were soaking up the sun on our favourite beach!
If you go from May to October, I would be sure to have lots of bug spray as the mosquitoes are plentiful at that time of year, as they are here in Canada. In the tropical climate however, they can get very plentiful - and hungry! Lol.
All in all we had the amazing vacation we have come to enjoy at Hotel Playa Coco. With love in our hearts, and cuban rum in our glasses, we can’t wait until we are back there with the people we have come to love and appreciate.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Nice well kept resort, great spot!
Beautiful well appointed resort with nice new rooms and most face the ocean. Beautiful views and lots of pools and bars, however the food was lacking. The buffet had very long lines ups for everything, from bread to desert etc. Only one buffet, not enough staff to help flow the food line ups and stations.

Melia Cayo Coco: Still great and reliable as always.
Everything was clean and well kept. The common washrooms were clean and were well supplied, ie. toilet paper. The main dining room and a la cartes had plenty of tasty options and beer and wines. There were also additional wines in the onsite store. There was beach bar, well stocked and beach restaurant. This also had a great selection including ice cream. We never lost power or hot water. We are beach people and this was great , maybe a tad windy, that time of year I guess. Don't miss Tuesday[... read more] night entertainment at the pool table bar on the lagoon. Staff were always providing games, dance and exercise on the beach. Our fridge was stocked with beer, pop, and water everyday. This was our third visit at this resort, it's a keeper!

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Nice Time
The Royalton was a nice resort to spend our time. The beach other than Royalton patrons was very quiet and empty. It seemed the other resorts had much less travellers. The food was fine and they made extra effort on our last night which was greatly appreciated. Staff was friendly and accommodating with all request, except one. Beach was beautiful the water was very wavy as the winds were strong for the entire week we were there 20 plus kph. The attached market connecting to memories was [... read more]almost deserted everyday due to the lack of visitors. I was disappointed given my late flight at 4:50pm that they didn't accommodate for my request for a later check out. Currently having a medical issue to manage, resting is very important and this request was denied and absolutely no extension was provided. This made my trip home more difficult. Given that i came on a late checkin past 9pm and cleaning staff work until 5pm. This didn't see reasonable to me. The night entertainment was typical of resorts with one night being much better than the others. The resorts needs some upkeep especially bathrooms near the quiet pool. Overall we had a lovely time.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Great Location
First time in Cuba and I cannot express how magnificent a holiday we had. The resort was top notch with a clean comfortable room, beautiful beaches, amazing food and outstanding staff. Will definitely go back again as every thing I wanted in a holiday was delivered here. My appreciation to Jenn Black who arranged everything and made this experience all I could ask for.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Worst resort ever!
Only positive is service was good and rooms were clean The food was horrible and there were major shortages. No it’s not a Cuba thing as other resorts had plenty of food. No bread or flour products for 4 days. No rice for 2 days. No juice, yogurt etc etc. rooms are dated to the point of the bathroom door rotting off 1/4 of the way up. Mold in tub area. Drinks were limited and no pina colada’s. Like really?????

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Trip was ruined by the weather - very strong wind
Visited Iberostar Origin Daiquiri April 16-23.
BEACH:
1. Weather was sunny, the water was warm, but due to extremely strong wind (up to 40-50 km/hour) we felt cold on the beach and in the water. Heaven for kite surfers, but we did not enjoy our time on the beach.
2. There were NO water sports available, neither catamaran trip to coral reefs, due to the wind
3. NO corals for snorkeling from the beach, despite some comments
4. White sand in the water was only 10 meters wide with the grass fur[... read more]ther on. Not pleasant for your feet. It was a nicer beach about 2 km to the left at Sol Cayo Guillermo hotel
RESORT PROS:
1. Small size of the resort, everything is close, many trails to the beach with showers on each
2. Tasty food: meat, chicken, turkey, fish, cheese
3. Comfortable rooms, nice balconies, quite air conditioning
4. Comfortable mattress and pillows
5. Good espresso
6. No mosquitoes (I guess, due to the wind)
7. No power outages
RESORT CONTRAS:
1. Looks like the management is bad. 4 stars? REALLY? Nobody met us when we exited the bus. No welcome drinks as well. No bellboy/carts, we had to carry luggage ourselves. At least the receptionist described where our building is. No printed maps of the resort were given.
2. No soft drinks/beer in the fridge.
3. NO 110v outlet in the bathroom! We payed $20 a week for antique transformer for our water pick flosser
4. No normal milk, only milk powder. Cappuccino was awful.
5. Limited glass in the main bar. Coffee from the paper cups had a cardboard taste. Paper cups were not the quality of Tim Horton’s ones
6. Poor variety of spirits in the main bar. Better bottles (on the left, and on the right) for sale only. One evening (8 pm) they even run out of ANY cuban rum
7. No plates for the soup. Used paper cups
8. Ping pong set is garbage, especially rackets
9. Never seen a cigar bar open.
10. Music at the pool was very loud. In the lobby in the evening way TOO LOUD. People can not talk to one another.
11. Water with some kind of colour was displayed under the name of “juce”
12. La Marina restaurant was closed for renovation
13. Internet connections are getting lost often. Sometimes you need to go to the front desk, and complain, and they do something on the computer (my guess is to disconnect the other user) to let you in.
14. I don’t think they ever swept the floor in our room.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Perfect for pool lovers
This was my first stay in the Cayo Santa Maria area. The price was right for 2 weeks.
Adult pool was the best.
I am a beach person, however due to the amount of biting bugs in this area I avoided the beach. Not good for swimming. There is alot of vegetation and sharp rocks in the water. Water shoes are a must. However great for a beach walk.
Staff are friendly and helpful if you have a translation app. Many spoke little English, it was difficult to communicate the simplest conversation. Dr[... read more]inks and coffees were inconsistant. The beer was always good. Daily fresh fruit, salad bar, bread, and pasta were good. Otherwise, few food selections compared to many Cuban resorts I visited.
Bring your salad dressing.
The nightly lobby entertainment was good, the Micheal Jackson show was excellent. The nightly rolled out cart bar in the lobby served the best spanish coffee. The weather was perfect, breezy in the evenings so you never felt smothered by the heat.
The spa experience was so enjoyable. The massage was the best.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Great service and food !
We booked for a week at the Coral side. I recommend Coral to selection side if you are not going with kids.. Excellent service, great food (which was a surprise for Cuba), drinks and very good arrangements for evening entertainment! Rooms were nice and clean with ample bottled water available all around the resort.
The only thing lingering not so nice in my mind is that while booking we were shown that we would be eligible for room upgrade subject to availability at the time of check in.. Howev[... read more]er, when we told them at the check in counter of the resort they had no idea and neither checked anything to. As if no communication. It would be even better with a better room Neverthrless, we got a very good deal and had a great time. Would recommend and if you book the Coral side you can roam around and enjoy the selection side as and when you want which was an added bonus

Starfish Cayo Largo: Our favourite spot
This was our 26th time to this resort. Some may say we are biased but most people we have met there are repeat guests. It is an older resort but built with Spanish architecture as opposed to a condo style of a newer place. Depends what you are looking for. The beach was great the first week and then the winds came up and it washed away our 2nd week. Didn't matter. The sound of the waves thumping onshore with a drink is very pleasurable for us. As far as food goes food is food. Even if you pay[... read more] 2-3 times as much for a 5 star we will never eat as well as we eat here. Me being the cook in the family. If you are pool people the pool is kept very clean by Alfredo. Noel Yanny Ernesto and Griffith do a great job at the beach buffet and bar. Starfish has started a butler service and Yuni the manager Eliza Yunet and Daughrie do a great job making sure to help you with any problems. Case in point on our arrival our room had a new doorknob which was loose. Asked Eliza to have the handyman to tighten it up and it was done right away. For drinks they never ran out of beer wine or rum. If you're OK with the basics then all is good. So this review isn't to say it's Paradise. But it is a very relaxed atmosphere. The workers are very nice and make an effort to make sure you are happy. As I started 26 times to Starfish but another 10 elsewhere in Cuba. So as a final note the beach to the the left is for all around suntan or halves and to the right is with bathing suits. Completely apart and your choice and very discreet. There are no security guards saying do this or that, just mutual respect. Already planning our next trip.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Five-Star Experience at Grand Aston Cayo Paredón!
Our stay at the Grand Aston Cayo Paredón was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and genuine smiles. The resort itself is breathtaking — modern, elegant, and immaculately maintained.
The rooms were spacious, beautifully designed, and equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. Waking up to ocean views each morning felt like a dream. Housekeeping was excellent, keeping everything fresh and spotless throughout our stay.

The beach was pure paradise — powdery white sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and plenty of loungers to relax under the sun. The pools were just as stunning, with swim-up bars and lively entertainment for those looking for a little more excitement.
One of the highlights was the dining. The variety of restaurants offered something for everyone — from delicious Cuban specialties to international favorites — and every meal was fresh and flavorful. The staff at every venue went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful dining experience.
Special mention must go to the entertainment team, who brought so much energy and positivity every day, from morning activities to evening shows. Their enthusiasm was contagious and made our days even more memorable.
What truly set this resort apart, though, was the genuine kindness and professionalism of the entire staff. They made us feel not just like guests, but like part of their family.
If you’re looking for a luxurious, relaxing, and memorable Caribbean getaway, I cannot recommend Grand Aston Cayo Paredón enough. We are already planning our next

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Still loving this place
After all the hardships on going in Cuba the workers are smiling and asking how we are. Always something delicious to eat and clean tidy beach and hotel grounds. Always trying to make our stay better. Full marks and 100% to resort. Muchos Gracias
