Casa Marina Reef Resort: Very enjoyable stay

I found this hotel to be located adequately close to the airport approximately 15 minutes the grounds are quite well kept the pools are stellar the view of the ocean is quite breathtaking from many locations on the grounds the buffets are quite well done the staff on the morning Buffet up near the main desk still make me smile they had to be the most friendly people I met that I found all the stuff quite welcoming I was in one of the more recently renovated rooms, the air conditioner work well , [... read more]the water worked good ,safe available, the bed was quite comfortable the pillows had a little bit to be desired they were big and there was no assortment of Sighs or densities I was on the ground floor I had a patio door walking right out to the pool area the locking mechanisms on most of the patio doors in the Dominican I have found to having not very good locking mechanisms either not locking or still being able to be opened from the outside when locked this hotel was no different now with that said they have Security the grounds 24 hours so the security of your patio door may not be as critical as at some other hotels. As in quite a few locations in the Dominican their pathways are rock with cement it looks very pretty it's not so much fun to walk on if you have any walking difficulties I imagine it would be difficult for a wheelchair to get around as well when it rains you must be very careful walking from one surface to another especially some of the tile that is used on the floors wickedly slippery extremely dangerous and how they can leave it like that I do not understand my suggestion would be simply 3M non-slip tape. I am not holding them to very high standards but I am holding them to Common Sense there is a stairwell that you must go under at the end of the hall outside of I believe 1117 the stairs would be very hard to move the path not as hard. I do not believe I would recommend this hotel for young children or for elderly however I am neither and I will probably go back because I did enjoy myself

Occidental Punta Cana: Occidental Punta Cana. beautiful resort

The Occidental is a beautiful resort that in undergoing a refit, Air Transat rooms were in the newer part and were large and modern, King sized bed and balcony, bottled water was available throughout the complex and in our room. The beach was amazing and you could walk for miles in either direction. The food is quite good although by the end of the week it was getting repetitive. The evening entertainment was excellent and we looked forward the the live singers in the bar and the show later in [... read more] the evening. There are not enough places to get drinks by the water and there is always a line-up. Service is slow and there never appears to be anyone in charge. Do not pay for express check-in as it does not exist. We paid and after waiting 45 minutes for the 3 people in front of us to check-in it took another 30 minutes once we got to the counter. Service in general at the resort is hit and miss. If you fly Air Transat, be warned the line-up at the airport is atrocious. The 4 hours they say you need to catch a flight is needed and the Air Transat lines were incredibly slow. That being said we enjoyed the holiday, but ended up with travelers diarrhea. If we go back we would likely stay at another resort.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Ok Resort

The Hotel is a little dated but overall it's very clean. The food at the buffet is ok. Many days there were empty bins of food and very slow to bring out more. The biggest issue is the safes are not electronic but a key lock they they said others could have access to that same key. Plus you have to pay 4 dollars a day for it. Funny.....I didn't see that info anywhere on any website. Most of us on the trip did not pay to use it and had to keep our personal items with us all day. Punta Cana Princess: What a Lovely Place!

This is our sixth consecutive visit to Punta Cana Princess Resort for Adults and we were not disappointed. Something has to be said for returning to a familiar resort where everyone knows who you are immediately & provides such a warm welcome....makes one feel at home. The place is well maintained, the staff always have a friendly greeting and will go out of their way to ensure good service. Their menu choices are large and the food is fresh. Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Nice Resort

Grounds well groomed ,lovely pool , great walkable beach,renovated rooms large and nice.Food very good except fairly poor in snack bar. We did find the servers in the upscale restaurants to be very efficient and smiling but the buffet and snack bar people were far from congenial and some appeared to care less about the service they were providing.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Barcelo Bavaro Beach (Feb 2017)

My wife and I had a great time and did a dune buggy trip as well as 4 rounds of golf. The Buggie trip was a lot of fun and we got very muddy but were taken to a beautiful white sand beach to clean up. There was a lot of hard sell of products, trinkets, etc. The golf course was fantastic. Although the check-in staff could be a little more friendly, the starter and staff were very friendly and helpful. There was even an ashtray in our room, but we couldn't smell any residual smoke. The bathroom in our room was a little dated and could have used some grout cleaning, but the water pressure and temperature was excellent. The attached Barcelo Bavaro main resort seemed a little nicer (but with kids) with more activities and we had access to that. The food was as good as any resort we've been to. The a la cart restaurants we went to had good service - the buffets were also good.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Lovely resort, great staff

Our first experience with the Palladium resort chain last year in Mexico was very positive and based on that first experience we chose the Palladium in the Dominion Republic and were not disappointed. The grounds are lovely, beach great, rooms generous in size and clean. Staff were wonderful. Our overall eating experience was 4 star in terms of the variety of food, preparation and presentation. The overall atmosphere of the facility was relaxed. My one slightly negative comment is th [... read more]at as a family of 9, aged 17-76 who travel once a year to reconnect and enjoy each other's company and have dinner every night together.at a time of our choice isn't possible.. I would like to see groups of this size at least be given some leeway with regard to the timing for meals. We had no choice but to eat each evening at 6 pm. We didn't mind that a couple of nights but we would have preferred to eat later a few nights as well. This was not possible. That said, we did not let that temper our vacation.

IFA Villas Bavaro Beach Resorts: Exceeded expectations

I honestly have nothing bad to say about this resort. They are doing construction, but it didn't ruin my experience at all. It just means that your room is New and gorgeous. They are constantly cleaning, the staff are very very friendly and help you quickly. The food and drinks were excellent, and because you can't drink tap water they always had lots of water available. Would definitely go again.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: SERVICE NOT THERE AT ALL NOT A GOOD PLACE TO VISIT.

SERVICE AT FRONT DESK WAS NOT THERE TOOK 5 HOURS TO GET OUR ROOM.THAT WAS FULL OF MOLD[STILL ON MY CLOTHING AFTER 2 WASHS],BATHTUB BLOCKED DOOR HANDLE FELL OFF,MOLD ALL OVER TUB.FOOD NOT TO BAD,GROUNDS NICE.WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR REFUND FOR FIRST ON RESORT.

Grand Palladium Palace: My review

The hotel and ground were perfect. The staff at the hotel were very nice and so helpful. Diffently go back in the future. The only downfall was it rained one day. All in all it was a perfect holiday.:)

Ancora Private Residence Yacht Club and Marina: Amazing hotel!

My boyfriend and I and another couple travelled there for the last week of February. The resort was beautiful and the rooms were outstanding! We had access to the sister hotel Alsol Tiara and were granted a free day pass to the Alsol Del Mar. The food was pretty decent, the only downfall was the extremely small beach.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Fair Resort - starting to show its age.

Food was terrific, staff was very friendly but not very many beach activities i.e. para sailing etc. Beach was not as well kept as I expected. Seaweed problem with no white sand beach as we were lead to believe. We had to pay extra if we wanted a lock for the safe.

Be Live Experience Hamaca Suites: Very impressed

After reading reviews about this resort was somewhat concerned. Only have good things to say about this place. Staff are always welcoming and happy to make your stay enjoyable. Place is very clean. food is great and weather was good. A+++ in my book. And Michelle at trip central was extremely helpful. Thanks again!

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Established Paradise

I know, strange title, but there is something to be said of an established resort. While the rooms were dated, how much time do you really spend there. The grounds and scenery were STUNNING! We didn't have a meal we didn't like, and although we were a little concerned that the a la cartes didn't take resos (this was our first experience with this set up) it worked really well. A couple hiccups were quickly and professionally sorted out by staff. All in all, a lovely holiday.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Nice resort

Everything was quite close and easy to get to liked the buffet and the alacarte's . Pool was nice and central. The entertainment area could have more seating and the beach needs to get rid of the seaweed just 20 yards out but overall quite pleased would go back.

Activities - the entertainment staff are really friendly. It is mostly tailored to a younger crowd, but there are options for all ages throughout the day at the pool and on the beach. They are great at getting you involved if you are at first hesitant. Shout out to Alixandro Compota, he made all of the activities loads of fun! Grounds - clean and well cared for. Decor is certainly more up to date compared to some resorts I've been to. Staff - are generally friendly, but most won't go out o [... read more]f their way to make that relationship without the tips. Beach - Sand is clean and water is nice, heads up the beach has a lot of coral and seaweed. There are endless amounts of vendors on the beach. They are really friendly people, if you aren't interested just say no thanks and they leave you alone. Pool - we spent most of our time at the pool, great pool bar! Wake up early to reserve your chairs before breakfast if you have a large group. Throughout the day you can usually find two or three to pull together though. (the hotel was full when we were there).

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Not good!!!

Stayed here for ten days if u are not VIP u are nothing good not great very small selection breakfast good but how can u screw up that room mini bar not restocked for ten days after repeated calls for it to be done room never once was clean before 5 pm no hot water 8 of the ten days no place to sit that isn't out side so when it rains good luck finding something to do I have never complained about a resort before but felt this one I had to very poor service over all very disappointed!!!!!!

Dreams La Romana: Children Everywhere!

This is an excellent resort. They offer many great childrens programs which means that there an extradorinary amount of youngsters running amok. Where are their parents!? Soccerballs in the lobby bar - plants being defoliated - kids at the swim-up bar, throwing balls at hotel guests (if accidental, then apologize!!). Great room service, maid service, bar service, dinner service. Internet only so-so but free!. Pools clean and warm, beach calm, sandy, and warm, chairs and shade. Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Great Resort

After reading some of the reviews on here I was super nervous coming to this hotel. We had initially booked a standard room and were contemplating whether or not we should upgrade to the Junior suites since there were so many complaints about standard. So happy we did not upgrade because we had access to so many areas anyways plus the resort is huge so we had plenty to do. The weather was amazing and both the food and room were not bad either. A bunch of us are between the ages of 20-25 and have travelled to other resorts before and would say Cofresi is definitely a good place to visit. Our room was located in 307 and was perfect because it was close to the beach, many pools, bars and buffet. The only thing is the beach is not that great but Puerto Plata is not known for very nice beaches.

Riu Bambu: Rui Bambu

The beach was large beautiful and clean. The grounds were clean and very well manicured with nice hedges and hundreds of healthy Palm trees. The pool area was very nice and also well maintained. The people who worked there were lovely and worked extremely hard. The entertainment staff were great and also worked long hours. The food was terrible cold and everything cooked in oil the drinks were average with no premium liquor. The mattress hard as a rock and terrible lumpy pillows. The AC you could not adjust and the room was damp and I was sick with a cold by day 3. Was unable to open patio door as we backed on to dirty construction site where they were building a pool. Also there were many cats roaming everywhere on the resort which were literally starving to death which was very upsetting.
