Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Very good

We had a wonderful holiday. They upgraded our room which very quite. They cleaned and serviced our room daily and we found the food very good. The small problems we encountered were: Because of a storm we left twelve hours later and we arrived there noon time, tired and hungry. We had to wait a long time to register since they were only two people at the counter. The free internet service did not exist. I tried to notify my family, but the emails were received two days after our arrival home!

Paradisus Punta Cana: Paradisus is Paradise!

The grounds are absolutely breath taking with the palm trees, tropical plants, throughout and the flamingos in the lobby. The junior suite was very clean, big and the maids always provided fresh towels. At the buffets the food was tasteful but was just warm. Needs improvement for hot foods. Booking ala carte dinner reservations needs also improvement as to when selecting restaurants letting u know right then if available and not 2 days later also being booked for restaurants that weren't se [... read more]lected. Otherwise the Paradisus, Punta Cana is a beautiful resort.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Amazing and Memorable Resort

When you arrived at this hotel they made you welcome right away. This hotel was very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had lots of daily activities to do during the day as well as great day trips off the resort. The pool area as well as the beach area were clean. The buffet offered food for everyone. I would highly recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Essentia by Emotions: Afew issues that can be resolved

My husband and I just returned afew days ago from a two week stay at the Essentia Club Section.We had booked a swin out room for the two weeks. We arrived about 1.30pm to check in. Rooms were not ready yet. Finally, at 5.pm we were told our room was ready but there was no swim out room available. They put us in a room on the Essentia side. There was some issues with the room so we asked to be moved to another room. The following day still no swin out room,so they moved us again to a garden view  [... read more]room until a swin out room was available. Customer service rep told us the resort was full and rooms were overbooked. Not sure how that happened as the resort should know how many rooms they have, and how many guests will be arriving. Finally, at the end of our first week our swim out room was available. Not sure if this is a transat or a resort problem or both. There needs to be more communication between the resort and transat to solve the over booking problem. Over all, the resort was nice Rooms were clean and modern decor,comfortable and spacious.Fridge,safe,coffee maker,house coat in room.Hot water and AC was good. Staff was friendly and helpful( short staff at the buffets, they were owerwhelmed with a full resort they could not keep up with adequate service. Beach was nice,cleaned daily Private pool(Essentia guests ( would be better if the pool was adult only) Problem with guests that sat in the V.I.P. section that did not pay for the service Buffets, snack bar and al la carts average. If you are thinking about booking this resort I would recommend staying on the Essentia Club side. Great location for everything. This is not the best trip ever,so dont know if we would return to this resort. We would give this resort a 3.5*

Paradise Playa Dorada: Very good resort

The food was excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful and I the standard of cleanliness was among the best I have experienced in the Caribbean. The only drawback was the lack of elevators which I attempted to overcome by requesting a 2nd or 1st floor room. My request was not honoured at first but two moves later I found myself in a tiny first floor room. During the course of the holiday we ran into the following maintenance problems; A AC unit not working , B Telephone not w [... read more]orking, C safety bar in shower missing, D bathtub would not drain, E bar fridge requir d defrosting. The maintenance staff responded wwqquaixccklys to all complaints and all problems (except the safety bar) were resolved in short order. Beth fid an excellent job and was very helpful for which we are grateful.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Big resort

We have been to other Bahia resorts and they are big but this one is much larger. We were disappointed by staffs lack of interaction or sense of urgency in some situations. Overall it was clean considering how busy the resort was. It could use an update in the Amber green resort where we stayed. There are a lot of amenities but getting to and from them to the beach was arrugas.Only certain trams ran on one side which meant you had to walk or wait for a different tram. It was very crowded wi [... read more]th loungers making it difficult to navigate the beach area. Food was good,but service could be better.

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Nice resort, quite large

Quite a nice resort. Main lobby was quite large, open concept, with two large bars. Two large buffet dining rooms and several a la carte restaurants. While we were there a few of the a la cartes were being repaired/re-roofed, others just were closed. The two we went to were quite good though. The buffets' food was fairly good, nothing to rave about but everything was edible. Some of the dishes were a little salty for my tastes but there was nothing that turned me right off. Every night wa [... read more]s a different theme night like "Americana", "Asian", or "Spanish" which led to some nice variety. Rooms were decent and cleaned well. We had a problem with our sink leaking but they fixed it right away. Water pressure and temperature were good. Beds were comfortable, air conditioned, had a little 'living room' and a balcony. Theres only one pool but it's quite large and long, sub divided into 4 areas with two swim up bars, leaving quite a bit of space for lots of people. The beach was nice, however on both sides of the resort there is no neighbors, so basically once you leave the property you are on your own security wise. Was never an issue other than locals trying to sell you stuff, though. The staff was very good about cleaning and clearing the beach, plenty of loungers and hutches to relax under. There is a long walkway leading from the main building down to the beach, on both sides of this walkway are where the guest buildings are. Very well manicured and maintained, lots of interesting features. Very pretty walk. Twice while we were there vendor stalls were setup along the first part of this walkway selling various things from rum and tobacco to jewlery and clothing. Would have been fine except the vendors can be quite pushy and aggressive in their sales technique, but that's just the Dominican apparently. You just have to be firm in your "no thanks, not interested" and not get sucked in. Plenty of off site excursions being sold, though I didn't go on any of them. Staff was friendly and helpful. All in all a fairly nice resort, no major complaints.

Occidental Punta Cana: so so...

We arrived at 1pm and as check in time was not until 3pm, we were advised to come back at that time and our room would be ready. We went back to reception about 3:30pm and our room was not ready at that time. We went back again at 4pm at 4:30pm at 5:00pm, etc.- many people were arriving and being checked in as the afternoon progressed. At 5:30pm we still DID NOT have our room. Finally we were told it was ready. The bellhop loaded our luggage and we went to our "readied" room. When we arrive [... read more]d the room had not even been touched. We left our luggage there and went back to reception where we were informed that our room had been given to someone else in error and they had another room for us. Our luggage was still in that room. So, they finally cleaned it. Sometime after 6pm we were in our room. It wasn't long before we discovered that the air conditioning was not working. We informed our Transat Agent who guaranteed us that it was be fixed ASAP. Nothing happened at all. For 3 days we informed our agent and the staff at reception. There was a huge communication problem as to who was responsible for informing the maintenance staff regarding the air conditioning. Finally, after 3 days of no air conditioning and no possibility of it being repaired, we were moved to another room in a different building. Other travellers experienced far worse problems, including sewage backups and water leaking into closets from the rooms above them. This would be an awesome resort if our transat agent would have actually taken the problems seriously and communicated with the hotel that there were issues to be addressed.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Wonderful experience

I had a great time, the resort was beautiful and the rooms were very clean. I have a difficult time when it come's to food all I can say is that there were so much food selection and it was not hard to find something. Not only was there a wide selection but the food was fantastic. The resort is beautiful and well groomed. The staff is very polite and pleasant. I will be bringing my son and his family there next year! Excellent experience.

Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa: Just so so

All and all wasn't to bad .. had a few little problem and no one took ownership of it .. made us feel like it was our problem .. what ever happened to the customer being right .. but food was great and the beach was amazing.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Nice Resort

This is a large resort with two nice pools. The staff at the bars are very friendly. The beach at the resort is an eye sore but just walk further down the beach for a better view. The food was not very good nor was the service at the restaurants so we would not return as a result

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Be Live Collection, Punta Cana

This resort was amazing for 99% of the time. We were there for a Wedding and America and Anyia were terrific in making everything happen. The food was good, the weather was good and the place was very clean. The Staff were excellent. The one thing that we found disappointing was when we were booked into The Steakhouse Restaurant on our last night, was that while all the other restaurants were never short of food, this restaurant was short of a lot of food. May have been a one off issue but [... read more] surely in a resort that large they could have contacted one of the many other restaurants for help. The restaurant only opened at 6.30 pm. by 8 pm they were out of certain foods, Beginning with the starter course, they had no sausage and cheese empenadas, there was no Garlic Bread, They had no Red or White wine, and they had no rack of lamb, all items noted on their menu. The chicken was cold and only partially cooked, and one person got a complete incorrect order. This was not a large restaurant and the service left a lot to be desired. This may have been a one only time, but their lack of concern and no attempt to get Bread or wine form the other restaurants left our table of nine disappointed. However I must say the Brazilian Restaurant was wonderful, as was the Mediterranean, we did not use the Japanese restaurant so we cannot comment on that, overall, I would say the staff in general made the [place a very friendly place to be.

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Phenomenal Resort

I can't say enough about our Hotel and Resort. The travel agent had put in the comments when booking that it was our 25 year anniversary and they upgraded us to a beautiful honeymoon suite. Stellar service and staff all around. The hotel grounds and rooms were extremely clean.....never any garbage anywhere. I can honestly say one of the best vacations... Oh ya,food was out of this world. There were always a huge variety all the time.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Really good resort!

Food was top notch at a la carte restaurants. Entertainment team was excellent - sexy chocolate was always happy. We loved the entertainment bucks to use at the auction. The only negative was that management did not accommodate or give any options for our teen to stay at the kids club with the rest of our kids group. She would have to had stayed by herself at the unsupervised sports bar when the adults wanted to have a meal by themselves. We didn't allow this to put a damper on our vacation.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful resort with amazing pools

This place is massive, but they have trolleys and golf carts to get you from place to place. Beautiful beach is only a few steps away from Ambar Blue. The guest rooms were not consistent though, as friends we booked with got a room that did not have the same amenities as us. All-inclusive drink service was incredible and plentiful. The buffets were acceptable, but not overly memorable. The All-A-Carte restaurants were better.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Fantastical Resort

Just returned from an amazing week at the Majestic Mirage Resort in Punta Cana...we were there to celebrate a wedding made magical by this resort and all the people involved. The entire resort is a fantasy land with two wedding gazibos for use by guests, not to mention numerous pools and a fabulous beach to relax on. Rooms were excellent and the entire staff at this is resort is on call for whatever is needed and they are happiest staff I have encountered. Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Amazing Resorts

We had a wonderful time, everybody was friendly and helpful, the food was great. The resort grounds and the beach are beautiful. Our room was nice and spacious and clean, had a view facing the pool. We stayed at the Majestic Colonial Club it was quite, and worth the extra $$. Overall I would certainly recommend this place to everybody.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Feb 12 - 19 - Swim Out Room

This was our first all inclusvie vacation (in the past we have Cruised). Do to the fact that we arrived late (due to flight delays) we ended up getting bumped from our room (it was obvious as they used white out and wrote in the new room number). The frist room we stayed in (Rm 4101) had NO VIEW of the pool and the right beside a walk through to another building. I complained and we were moved to Building 1 and a much nicer room (RM 1102). That room had the extras that the first one was mi [... read more]ssing (ie, umbrella, house coats, welcome letter with % of spa services). The cleaing staff were friendly and very helpful. We didn't like the way the sales for excursions and the night of crafts were done. We could not walk 5 steps without someone trying to sell us something I would have thought the resort would not allow that type of pressure (very similar to crusie excursions...once you pass the cruise port the Islanders beg you to buy something). The food was OK, really didn't have a lot of variety for myself (I have a peanut allergy) for breakfast or lunch. Dinners I had more options. I should have been informed that I needed to see the main desk to have a letter written up to explain my allergy which I would then show to the waite staff and managers. Once I got that it became very easy. This letter should have been given to me prior to arriving at the resort. We felt very safe while on the property.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Incredible resort, amazing staff!

The hotel itself was beyond gorgeous and luxurious, the rooms were stunning and always kept clean. I was married on February 13th, 2017 at this resort and the wedding staff made our day so special. They went out of their way to make sure everything ran smoothly. All bartenders and waiting staff were very friendly. I have nothing bad to say, our stay was a dream
