Planet Hollywood Adult Scene Cancun by Royalton: Not good resort
Public area was good, food was ok, but service was poor as we reached hotel at 10pm all the restaurants were closed and and rooms was even pathetic - Not cleaned at our arrival, coffee machine amd dryer was not working, closets were broken even after compliant nothing happened.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Fantastic Resort
The staff are helpful, friendly and attentive. We like the decor of the rooms, although dated. The buffet is amazing! Lots of variety. Something for every appetite. We really enjoy Le Gourmet, they serve a delicious beef tenderloin.

Grand Riviera Princess: NICE RESORT
Riviera Princess resort side was closed for rennovation. Stayed at Princess Sunset side, which was recently updated.
ROOM; was looking nice with new lighting and temperature controls. However, there were issues; 1. shower water leaks under glass partition into the toilet area. 2. No shelving for shampoo etc so bending to the floor to pick up items. 3. Smoke detector lost a screw and was left hanging. 4. Bug found on bathroom floor remained for all 10 days. 5. No rack on balcony or bathro[... read more]om to hang swim suites to dry. 6. Ony coffee provided, had to ask for coffee mate and sugar. No tea or creamer provided. 7. Jetted spa tub was replaced with a free -standing tub in the Junior Deluxe Suite. We wanted the jetted tub.
Bed was good. Controls for light and air very good. Fridge restocked each day. Quiet room looking over pool river.
FOOD; EXCELLENT FOOD at both a la cartes and buffet.
GROUNDS; OK, could have been cleaner on some paths re tree droppings etc.
POOLS; Excellent condition and cleaned daily. No shortage of lounge chairs.
BEACH; Sand was nice and clean. Water was very warm and fairly clear. A few rocks on entry, but mostly sand allowing to walk way out. Sphagnum moss was not a big issue.

Ocean Coral and Turquesa El Beso: FANTASTIC RELAXING VACATION
This was our 3rd time at OCT, but first time in El Beso. We had a great stay (10 of us all together). We did enjoy the Adults Only aspect this time, but not necessarily a must have in the future.
Resort was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Food at the buffet was always very good with plenty of options. The Mexican fare offered at every meal was always so good. We ate at the El Beso Breakfast restaurant one morning. Food was good, but personally I preferred the Buffet. We [... read more]also ate at the Japanese, the Italian and the Villa Marina. All wonderful meals and the booking app worked fine for us to get booked. The fact that there are not many seating spots available when you get in it at 10 am was a bit frustrating (more so for getting all 10 of us together- Guest services wasn't able to help with this either unfortunately). If we didn't get in tho, it was no big deal as the buffet was always delicious. The best lunches we had were at the Village Marina Snack bar. Their shrimp and/or pork tacos were amazing. A must try. We tried to get into the Ocean burger but unfortunately, waited 20 mins with only a menu dropped off and no further service, even after asking to place our orders. We went to the buffet instead.
The resort is impeccably clean, all the staff were very friendly and wanted you to enjoy your meals, drinks and rooms etc while you were there. Elizabeth, in the entertainment group was fantastic. She was always encouraging us to join in the activities, and we ended up having a great time doing so. Bartending, bingo, bracelets, painting and karaoke.
The beach is wonderful, always clean. There wasn't much seaweed (I do NOT like seaweed at all- honest statement) when we were there ( Nov 29-Dec 6), but the tractor was still running getting up anything it could. The beach is not your typical crystal-clear turquoise water ocean, but still clean and enjoyable.
We enjoyed most of our pool time at the El Beso pool. It was always clean and enjoyable. Ricardo always brought around great drinks for us whether at the pool or the beach. Iceburgs are my new favorite.
Our rooms were cleaned most days, and mini fridge stocked as described in offerings. Some in our group did not get the same attention tho. There was a musty smell in the room when we first got there, but that is typical when no fresh air allowed in for a time. It diminished as the week went on.
We took a cab into Puerto Morales one day for a breakup of the week. It was $44 US for four of us round trip. arranged just outside the resort, ask if the alligator is available for viewing if you stop in. This is a typical thing for us to do as it is close and something we enjoy. There is a bike tour that is offered to ride here from the resort as well. We like walking around the village, checking out the grocery store and then having fresh mango margaritas with chips and pico beside the ocean while pelican watching.
Will we be back for a 4th time?? absolutely. recommend ?? absolutely. 6 in our group had not been here before, but said they would definitely be back!
My wife and I recently stayed at Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal in the Mayan Riviera for 11 days, and the experience exceeded our expectations on nearly every level.
We stayed in a swim-out suite, which was absolutely worth it. The room was spacious, well maintained, and a perfect way to start and end each day. The resort itself is beautifully laid out, easy to navigate with passenger carts regularly shuttling guests to and from each of the adjoining resorts. The Tequila resort opened while we [... read more]were there (on Dec 1st) and it looks amazing.
The à la carte dining was a standout. We dined at 10 different restaurants, and the food quality and service were consistently excellent. Each restaurant felt distinct, the menus were well thought out, and service was attentive without being intrusive.
Overall service throughout the resort was very good, with friendly, professional staff who clearly take pride in what they do. From housekeeping to restaurants to common areas, the team created a welcoming and comfortable environment. A special shout out to Miguel at Bar 66 on the beach. He's one of the best bartenders at the resort. The only thing that could have been improved was the drink service at the pools. We often would not see a server for hours.
The evening shows were entertaining and well produced (especially the magician and the "Lumina" act), offering a nice variety and a fun way to wind down after the day. The weather was excellent throughout our stay, which only added to the enjoyment.
My wife and I both had a fantastic time and would absolutely return to this resort without hesitation. It strikes a great balance between comfort, quality dining, good entertainment, and a genuinely enjoyable atmosphere.
A special thank you to Nicolle Kirk at TripCentral, who booked this trip for us. Her recommendation was excellent, and the experience reinforced the value of working with a knowledgeable travel professional.
Highly recommended. David and Karla Melsted

Friendly Fun Vallarta: Nice Resort - Borderline boring.
The resort was nice, rooms good, stocked the mini fridge every day, buffets were very good, Clean facilities, lovely staff . There are 3 pools, kiddie adult, youth & adult, then adult only with a fully stocked bar & appitizer kitchen, which was wonderful.
The entertainmant was basically NONE EXISTING. They had beach volleyball but needed a resort staffer to call people in to organize it. .
There were in 8 days , 6 weddings on the resort beach area ....which left no space for entert[... read more]ainment because the wedding music and entertainment music would have clashed.
They prefer you stay on the resort but threre is nothing to do there.
We have been there approx 8 times in 20 years and resort/entertainment has been declining.
In conclusion, I would recomend this resort if all you wanted to do was, eat ,drink & lay around all day, again boring.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing resort
We loved this hidden gem of a resort. Staff were excellent and made our staff enjoyable. The food and entertainment were wonderful. The beach was clean and easy to swim in, the pool was also clean and cool to swim in. We loved the pool exercise and many drink bars throughout the resort. The only thing I would improve is the beach/ pool chair availability. We had to get chairs at 6:00 am or may not get them. I would also suggest to sell sunscreen in the gift shop. These are minor things compared [... read more]to how well everything else was run and the thought out into the resets offerings. I would recommend the resort and certainly return . Hilton Cancun: Amazing resort
Resort was amazing. Our room was very modern. Nice and big and always clean. All the food was delicious. A la cart restaurants were very easy to book and always available. There were always chairs available around the pools, most having umbrellas.
The shows are a little too early. I think they gear them around the children. We missed most as we were eating dinner at that time.
The one thing that bothered me is we had a late check-in which resulted in a late check out. They told us if we u[... read more]sed any of the amenities after the noon checkout we had to pay $10 per hour/per person. So to sit on a lounger at the pool we had to pay. Funny thing is, we didn’t get a refund for the amenities we didn’t use when we arrived at 9:00 pm.
All in all, I would return for the many other wonderful qualities of this resort.

The Barcelo complex, is excellent for all groups of people. You get to use the facilities at 4 of the hotels, their buffets, restaurants, swimming pools, etc..the employees work very hard at service and cleaning, the beaches are a little rocky, but once your out in the ocean it’s fine, they do clean up the seaweed, their is so many activities you don’t need to leave the resort, l didn’t care for the entertainment at night, l found the band way to loud which made it hard to hear the performers, t[... read more]hey have a 24 hour sports bar with food and tvs, bowling alley etc. they also have outdoor restaurants you can go for lunch by pools so you don’t need to walk to buffets

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Beautiful resort!
The Barcelo Maya Grand is a large beautiful resort with many pools & activities and access to multiple areas & restaurants with a variety & plenty of food. The grounds are kept very clean and the friendly staff work very hard to maintain cleanliness and cater to guests. Check in could've been more welcoming as we had to change rooms in order to get the rooms we paid for but once I mentioned "speaking to a manger" they suddenly found our rooms;) There was a 3 day music festival that created a lot[... read more] of noise & brought in tons of young people which would've been nice to know about prior to booking, we were far from it so not a bother but other families were not happy about it. Overall the Barcelo Maya Grande (Caribe) is a stunning lush resort with a beautiful beach & lots of do or not do. We had an amazing week there, enjoy!!!

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: An honest review
The resort is big and beautiful, and there are lots of activities for families. The restaurants are pretty good overall, although a few are nasty. The Sandos app is decent but could be better. It was easy for us to book à la carte restaurants through the app, and we were able to book five during our seven-night stay. The only two à la cartes that were actually good were the Japanese restaurant and Los Lirios.
Check-in was quick for us because we arrived late, but we often saw very long check-[... read more]in lines when walking through the lobby. Staff could have more positive attitudes. The resort is definitely family oriented, but there are nice adults-only sections throughout the property. It is very hard to get smaller peso bills, so it’s best to get them before you arrive.
The beach was really well kept, but be prepared for someone trying to sell you something every couple of minutes. They are not aggressive sellers, though. The large pool area where most people swim was quite crowded and the water was dirty, with a lot of sand on the floor. Drink quality was pretty decent and they do have some good high-quality brands.
The Wi-Fi throughout the resort was pretty good, with only a few spotty patches on the beach. The live shows were amazing, especially the Michael Jackson one. The resort is only ten minutes from Walmart and Fifth Avenue. You can take a taxi, Uber, InDrive, or the shuttle that runs twice a day for a couple of dollars.
There is a lack of staff at the bars, which causes big lineups because most bars only had one bartender. The resort could have much better cleaning practices in the bars, sitting areas, and other common spaces. Housekeeping was subpar.
You can’t get any good food on the resort past 11 p.m. The only place open after that is Nido, and they only serve beef and chicken tacos or burritos, and they are not great.
The one-bedroom pool view suite we stayed in was pretty run down. The TV was old, the floors had cracks, and there was broken furniture and broken electrical outlets. The paint was peeling on the walls, and the air-conditioning filters were disgusting, looking like they had never been cleaned. There is no door separating the bedroom from the living room, and there are no doors on the bathrooms, which seemed very odd. The toilet is in a separate little room with a door, which is also strange. This suite is definitely not ideal for families.
The water park is nice and clean. The food there is terrible and there are not many options. The ice cream is okay. You can’t get alcohol there, and if you want to smoke there is no smoking hut nearby.
All in all, the experience was positive, but not enough for me to consider coming back.

Canto Del Sol: Great Resort in perfect location
This trip was booked thru Trip Central and was a Sunwing Vacation with a West Jet Flight. I was a bit skeptical of this being a 4 star resort from reading some of the reviews, however the price was great and we decided to chance it. It turned out to be much better than expected.
The staff were amazing, the food was really good, pools nice and the location to downtown was perfect. The rooms were dated and could use some better lighting and furniture but very clean with comfortable beds and gr[... read more]eat showers. The a/c worked great. Our house keeper was Royo who did a great job.
The hotel is really two facilities joined by a pedway. I was in the Mountain zone which is separate from the main building. It is a bit of a walk to the pools and restaurants but very quiet
The buffet food was outstanding. Always a seafood dish and other selections as well as great fresh fruit and vegetables. Staff were great, a shout out to Arturo who I got to know over our stay. I had signed up for the Italian, Mexican and Surf and Turf specialty restaurants but opted instead to just do the buffet
Location is a 25 minute walk to the start of the Malecon. A 2 minute walk to the convenience store and less than 5 minutes to the bus stop. Bus is 10 pesos and the Centro bus takes 10-15 minutes to get to the heart of the Malecon.
Suggestion: I never experienced any lineups for the buffet however I was there before 8 am for breakfast and before 7 pm for supper. Most people go around 7:30 - 8pm for supper and by then there is a short line up.
Summary: this was an excellent choice for my last minute vacation. I would not hesitate to go here again in the future.

Luna Palace: Loved it
We did the all inclusive. This included four other hotels in the palace chain. We did use this for meals. We were there for our anniversary and birthday. The hotel was exceptional in what they did. They decorated our bed with balloons and swan/bday cake towels as well as a happy birthday banner on our door. It was the smallest of the hotel chain and quietest. We loved it. The pool clean. Staff great.

Our stay at the Grand Palladium Kantenah was excellent. The rooms, food and service were top notch. We’ve stayed at the Grand Palladium Colonial in the past with a similar experience. The resort has only gotten better with time. Keep up the good work! We’ll be back soon!
