Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: nice resort

This resort was clean and the staff were very polite. o This was a very good resort for people looking for quiet and relaxation not much entertainment but we still would recommend it We enjoyed this resort people were friendly and the food was alright had a great time would go back again.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Resort has beautiful beaches and amazing staff.

The resort needs some TLC in some of the rooms but the beaches and views are beautiful. Food is not the greatest but you won’t starve that’s for sure. The entertainment is good and their is lots to do. Pools are great! The staff was amazing and I made great memories.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Great resort

It is a very nice resort. Nice staff nice rooms. Great Beach and lots of pools. Great entertainment. Magic show a Michael Jackson show and much more. Typical Cuban food ok but of course not the selection we would see from 4 star resorts in other countries. Snack bar was good had chicken wings burgers pasta etc. No french fries though. Overall great hotel and stay would go back in a minute.

The ground where well kept beautiful flowers everywhere Food was great except for the coffee it was terrible Beach and pool area very clean Beach could use more shaded areas to sit Staff was excellent and very helpful Hotel rooms very clean

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Beautiful resort

Everything was great except common toilets which were less taken care. Accommodation, grounds, food, excelent. Beach and water amazing! Service excelent and people extremely friendly. It was a great vacation.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Worst resort ever

Service ,rooms end food really bad!!! Never again in dis resort!!! Not recommended .Table not clean you have to serve your self to take forks end spoun ,if you ont something to drink you gonna need 3-4 time to ask.

Melia Las Dunas: Beautiful beach!

Just got back from a week with my 3 kids... we had a nice time. The resort is pretty well maintained for Cuba. There was lots of food and if you hunt around, there are some pretty good options. Service was good - but I tipped at each buffet, bar and daily for housekeeping so think we got a little extra love for that! :) The beach was beautiful - you could usually get loungers which was nice. Didn't really spend much time at the pools as we are beach people - but they seemed nice when we popped by. Manage your expectations and you will have a good time.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Will not be going back....Love Cuba, but wont be visiting this location again.

Not enough variety in food choices, the buffet is too small for the size of the resort. They were always running out of food at the buffet and the wait time was over 30 mins before it was replenished. Buffet and bars were always running out of supplies. Highlights, the staff, weather and beaches were amazing.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Just OK

First off, we are not all-inclusive people. We went to one in Punta Canta about 12 years ago, Dreams in Cabo for a wedding in 2016 and before that visited a kid-friendly resort in Jamaica called FDR for 6+ years back in 1999. We went away in February because both of our kids were in uni and had Reading Week. After I had decided on this trip I then realized it was a very expensive time to travel south. I picked Cuba because it was economical, and I chose Ocean Casa del Mar for its beaches. We ha [... read more]d always been told the food was not great at Cuba resorts, but we figured everyone has different expectations and we were there for family time and relaxing on the beach. Although we had read up on Cuba, we were not prepared for needing to bring cash. All other trips we have taken, we have been able to order the country’s currency ahead of time and bring it with us. We thought once we got there, our credit card, plus an ATM would suffice. I don’t need to get into detail, but between the 4 of us, we had absolutely no cash until we were able to exchange at the hotel “bank” after 1pm the following day, and the exchange included a hefty service charge. SO BRING CASH! We arrived at night and in typical resort hotel style, one of our 2 rooms could not be found. Luckily they had no problem finding us a room, but they were in separate buildings. We were told to come back in the morning and they would try to get our rooms closer together. We were pleasantly relocated to the same building and floor. Many people said to choose at minimum a 5-star hotel in Cuba. This was a very tired hotel. Horrible pillows (and they had a musty smell), the drawers did not work well and the patio door almost took my back out every time I had to open it. We were in multiple rooms, since we had 2 and moved from buildings 2 & 8 to building 1. Eight was considered a “privilege” building because it was the closest to the beach, but since the beach was not really visible from the resort, that didn’t mean much. We expected a little more — especially when our towels would not be exchanged for fresh ones — even when left on the bathroom floor. That really grossed me out because we would use our towels after showering to wring out our bathing suits and stuff. Even when we dialled “5” for housekeeping (like we were told to do if we needed anything), nothing showed up. Even though they didn’t change our sheets daily (I don’t mind that), please change the towels! Once my daughter asked for clean ones as we were leaving our rooms. The room had been cleaned, but the towels were wet. He basically took their wet towels went around the corner, refolded them and gave them back. If you aren’t going to change towels daily, just let us know, and we will hang them up to dry. We were each given a beach towel in our rooms to be exchanged for clean ones. I like that idea in terms of conservation, and people being less likely to claim beach chairs with towels and never come back, but the cabana where they were stored was either closed or didn’t have clean ones, so we didn’t really get to exchange those much either. I’m sure most resorts have that problem with beach towels. As stately earlier, the beaches are beautiful. You had to get out to the beach or pool area early to secure your spot, and quite a few of the beach chairs were cracked or broken. Why not remove them? There was a good selection of free, non-motorized water equipment like paddle boats, kayaks and hover cats and the marina staff were awesome. Food & drinks. Let’s start with the drinks. We found one really lovely waitress who remembered our drinks from the night before. She came over as soon as we sat down and asked us if we wanted them again! In general, we found going up to the bar to ask for a drink other than beer was a crap shoot. There were cocktail menus everywhere, yet other than the one night of true mojitos, (I was told no to a mojito the first night we got there) anytime I asked for a specific drink, they basically made what they wanted and gave it to you. I understand that some ingredients might not be available, I’m no diva, but one time we went up to the bar, asked for 3 different drinks, and all received the same type of drink! They ran out of white wine and cola while we were there. After a few days of drinking stuff I didn’t ask for, and didn’t enjoy, I stopped drinking during the day and just had red wine at dinner. The food — we were warned, multiple times, but we thought people exaggerated. I realize they are limited in variety, but I found the buffets extremely wasteful, repetitive & slightly bland. We went into Remedios one day and had a wonderful meal. So we know there is the possibility of good food, it just isn’t at the resorts? Mike’s Cafe had great coffee and my son loved their iced Cuban coffee. We hired a wonderful taxi driver named Eduardo to take us into Remedios for the day. He was our own private tour guide, giving us little history lessons along the way. He seemed to know everyone and took us to the Church of San Juan Bautista where we were given a tour by a very proud & funny church administrator. We went to the open air market, our son decided to get a haircut at the local barber and we had a lovely shrimp lunch at an old hotel. The staff were a range of really helpful & kind, to indifferent. The staff in the buffet area were wonderful, always making sure we had enough to eat & drink. The second day of being seated by the same waitress, I was greeted with a kiss! One waiter always shook our hands. The kindness & hospitality of the majority of the staff definitely balanced the scales, but I really did not like feeling obliged to tip for everything. You could tell some staff just expected it. Again the all-inclusives we had been to in the past we would tip our room staff and tipped for things done beyond the ordinary. There were shows every night and although we did not hang out by the pool during the day or by the main beach bar, the entertainment staff seemed really into making sure people were having a good time. I am back home and reading through reviews of people who were there at the same time as we were, and of people who have been to Cuba multiple times —and we have very different sometimes polar views. In the end it boils down to what you consider important and what you don’t. So I have tried to give a fair review of our experience, so those reading can decide for themselves. Hope this helps.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Great resort

The hotel outside on the grounds definitely needs some maintenance and repairs, pools were both large and well maintained. Food was ok(but you know that in Cuba), hard to book a la carte restaurants. Rooms were very nice, clean well decorated.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Good resort

Friendly personnel, beautiful landscape, good food and amazing beaches. The availability of using the non-motorized sport equipments is a nice feature. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious. The towel service may need an improvement. The boardwalks need better maintenance.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Nice resort!

Resort was nice, nice beach nice pool. Rooms need a little upgrade. The pillow is paper thin and I found bugs in my room. Found a cockroach as big as my palm aswell. Overall other then that the staff were nice

Valentin Perla Blanca: Best resort in Cayo Santa Maria Cuba!

Stayed in the Privilege Garden view junior suite bungalow 27. We were so close to the pool, lobby and, best of all, the gorgeous white sand beach. The ocean was beautiful...turquoise blue. Pelicans diving close to the shoreline as we frolicked in the warm water. The a-la-carte restaurants were great. I especially enjoyed the Spanish restaurant. The 30 minute massage was so relaxing I booked another. And the service and attention of the staff was top notch. Will definitely return!

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Wonderful Resort

We found this resort to be a 5 star and everything we wanted and needed. A newer resort, clean, quiet, great friendly staff who work so hard to make sure that all the guest are happy. The large beach area was great, loved to walk along the beach, always shade or sun at the beach or around the pool and always chairs to find. Food was good as well was the A la cartes, never a problem with the air conditioning, always had hot water and the beds were comfortable (a first in our many travels to Cuba) [... read more]. Beautiful gardens the beach was amazing the rooms need to be upgraded furniture too old entertainment was good the only problem is the mosquitoes . The Buffet was good the first 2 days we ask for white wine and they don’t have but after they start to serve

The hotel was lovely with a few areas for improvement. Our suite was excellent and the service to the room was good. Fresh towels everyday and they did a good job of cleaning the room. I just wish they would replenish the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner at least once during the week. Staying at the Coral suites was a great choice. Quiet with lovely grounds and close to the beach. The shuttle service was usually good but sometimes we had to wait for more than ten minutes. The Cuban was excellent and the Italian was good, but the Asian was just okay. The beach was spectacular and better than anywhere we have ever been. Loved it. The washrooms on the beach often needed toilet paper and same goes for the washrooms at the lobby. Although they were kept pretty clean. The theatre where shows were performed was very comfortable and had good seating for all. This is an excellent resort with many amenities including lovely tennis courts in good condition and the pools were also excellent and not crowded at all even though we were told the resort was at capacity. Even the buffet was managable with the numbers. The food at the buffet was excellent - no complaints. But my favourite was eating at the restaurant at the Coral side. Best food and service at this restaurant. Would definitely go back!

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing Beach

This hotel was perfect for a relaxing get away. I went with a group of 10 girls and was surprised to see how well they could always accommodate my group. The staff were the best part, as they were all so friendly and helpful. The beach was beautiful, and was a great spot to hangout. We also enjoyed the pool, where they’re was entertainment and music daily. Drinking water was very hard to get, which was the only downside. Overall a nice spot to visit!

Paradisus Los Cayos: Good resort

Beach: nice beach but a little rocky and little shells in places that are hard on your feet. Water is crystal clear when it is calm, even in windy days we were still able to enjoy the water. Pools: main pool was nice with entertainment throughout the day. Small pools outside the buildings were cold but nicely lit in the night. Service: at the beach bar and beach restaurant was amazing! Some people were very friendly and happy to help while others were disinterested. Food: buffet food for breakfast had lots of options. Fresh to made omelette, eggs and pancakes were fantastic. They also had delicious fresh donuts. Lunch: buffet food was the same as dinner. We ate at the beach bar where the food was fresh and fantastic as well as excellent service. Dinner: buffet had many options as well as freshly made rice, fish, meats and pasta. Overall quality was lacking but everything was edible. Do not go to the a la Carte restaurants as they were terrible. Service was very slow and food at some places was not edible. Fuego was the only edible one. Room: very nice and clean, comfortable beds, shower just smelled a little musty. Location: 120km from the airport a 140 minute drive. Island was beautiful although our beach wasn’t very long but private. Value: we went during break so it was more expensive but would consider going again if prices were cheaper. Overall: resort was nice but it only seems to be 40% full and the service was still lacking... would hate to see if they actually filled it. Would recommend if you are looking for a nicer place to stay in Cuba.

Paradisus Los Cayos: Okay resort

Overall: decent stay. Takes 2 hours to get to the resort from the airport. Flying out of Santa Clara is brutal. The airport is tiny. The beach was lovely, although a little shelly/rocky until you get into the water. Lots of fish so on good weather days you can see them swimming. The beach food and drink bar have the very best service! Amazing people and we ate lunch their every single day. The only place on the resort that you get quick service. For a 7 day trip we received 7 hrs on day 1, 6 hrs on day 2, 5 hrs on day 3 etc. The rooms look lovely, beds were comfortable and the lighting is great. A/C was not working the entire trip (other people we spoke to had the same problem), the toilet seat was very stained, and the shower smelled musty. The pools outside the rooms look pretty but they are very cold as they are not heated and don’t receive much sun. The a la carte restaurants were terrible. Fuego was the only decent one. Bana and Vente were terrible service and inedible food in some instances. The buffet was edible with various options for freshly made food such as fried rice, fish and meats. Breakfast options were good too, fresh made pancakes, omelettes, eggs etc. The pool food bar was okay.. the food was good but the service was extremely slow. Also had an instance of drinking from a wine glass and noticing the rim was chipped in two places and almost cut my lip. One huge red flag is that this resort seems to be at 30-40% capacity. It is HUGE, huge buildings and many of them but very empty and still very slow service. They also offered a Valentines special to locals so the day before we arrived over 1000 local Cubans checked in. They were very noisy, rude and it was quite uncomfortable. This resort attracts the “affluent” local crowd, something to be cautious of. The staff were hit and miss. A handful were very happy to help and serve but there were many who were rude or did not seem excited to help. Have never experienced this before at an all inclusive. The entertainment team was okay. They seemed happy but there was no clear schedule for the day provided to us so it was hard to know when things where happening and where. Evening entertainment was good, but not much happens after that. The nightlife is not great. Overall definitely did not feel like a 5 star all inclusive experience. The beach, beach bar food and drinks were great though. We spent every day at the beach.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Not impressed

Rooms were moldy and dirty. There was hardly any fruit and they didn’t have much variety at all. We were referred to this resort since it was kid friendly which it really isn’t. They have a kid area but I only saw it open once, the rest it was locked up and not kept well. The pool was amazing and the beach is stunning but even the service wasn’t great.
