Memories Jibacoa: Amazing place

This is the first time I have not had bathroom issues in 20 years of going to cuba that says a lot about the food Great service, great food and entertainment Some rooms could undergo renos but you will not be disappointed staying here:)

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Amazing Beach

Beach was beautiful, staff was fantastic. Rooms were average but clean and tidy Food was typical Cuba, a bit bland but plentiful. Lobby Bar staff was great and entertainment in the theatre was good

Melia Marina Varadero: Good resort

The resort itself has some shortcomings due to age, but the staff was great and they kept the place neat and clean. The food obviously is not the best, but it is okay. The grounds, the pool and the beach are spectacular. The excursion to Habana was really well done complete with old cars and a nice lunch and dinner at the old fort and downtown. The Daiquiri bar in old Habana where Ernest Hemingway used to hang out, is a hotspot and worth the time. We had a great vacation!

Muthu Playa Varadero: Nice to get away!!

Hey! I spent a week here Jan 7-14th, an enjoyable time. Not all would say the same but I didn't have any major issues. I was on the 5th floor, the elevator doesn't work but if you don't mind the stairs the view was great. Their 2nd A La Carte restaurant was due to open the day after I left, so it was a chore to get registered for the only restaurant open at that time, the booking gal got to the desk at 9:30 but the lineup started before 9AM, and I found this to be a pain to do every day. Hopefu [... read more]lly it's easier with 2 restaurants open. The Snack Bar closed early, like 5PM while we'd still be by the pool, and it reopened around 9PM.... The beach is fantastic, the water was glorious. I'd take some black pepper with you if you like a little spice in your food, they only had Salt and Cinnamon that I saw. Overall, it was well worth the money & I was glad that I went. Great place to relax in the sun. ?? ??

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Brand New Resort Great Beach!

Very nice, new hotel. After taking a tour through Varadero it was clear this is in the newest area and is in a lot better shape than many of the other hotels. The beach area has a bit of rock and seaweed but they must have dug out big sections as even the next door resort is way worse! The rooms were clean, shower pressure and hot water always. The buffets, restaurants, lobby, bars, pool area all feel clean and brand new. The staff were great, very hard working, work long hours and provide great [... read more] service but it was clear on many occasions they are understaffed. Longer wait times for food at al a cartes, tables stayed dirty at buffets and at peak times it could be hard to find a clean table, long lines for the grilles and omletes etc, and long wait times for drinks at almost all bars most of the time. That being said some good tips early and often would have the staff helping you out faster when they could. Buffet food wasn't horrible but wasn't amazing, you could usually find enough to get a dinner going. Not a lot of fresh vegetables or fruit options but this was our first time in Cuba and during a nationwide food shortage so may not just be Grand Aston. Al A Carte restaurants took a bit to book and you have to be up at 9am to get in line for up to 30 minutes. But we were able to book 3/3 times. The Al A carte food was delicious and a huge step up in quality to the buffet. The sports bar has great drinks and had NFL football, NBA etc on TV (no NHL on that we saw). Nightly shows were pretty good, seen better but seen worse at other resorts. No actual stage area apart from between the two pools outside so in rain there would be no show. They mixed in some violin, guitar, pianos and singing in the lobby bar, all of which were great! Pools were very big and our first few days it was very easy to get a chair at almost any time of the day, plus they have several day beds. As it got busier and if at full capacity they may run out of pool chairs. If you need wifi I would not recommend this hotel. The wifi is spotty at best. It worked for a day or two in our room and then would not connect there for the rest of the week. Connected okay in main areas inside but you get kicked out every 15 minutes and need 2 to 3 attempts to log back in. Overall probably 4 out 5 experience and I think this would improve if the food shortage situation improves. Side note about tripcentral. Amazing service before during and after the trip. Being able to call a human being and have them answer right away is amazing compared to other sites. They have live peiple with a ton of experience looking to help. They send key information about the destination, country, entry requirements and check in reminders after you book as well?

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: One of the worst hotels ever

I have been to Cuba many times and for the most part my experiences have been positive. This was one of the worst trips I have ever had. ?20 min waits to get a drink at any bar, drinks were horrible. ?Food was the same thing everyday for (2) two weeks, 24 hrs snack bar rarely had pizza or fries. ?Elivators were constantly breaking down. ?Cuba is know for its beautiful beaches, not at this hotel, dirty, and ZERO activities on the beach, I mean nothing, beach bar wasn't even close to the beac [... read more]h. ?WIFI was hit and miss at best. ? Insects were terrible, they don't spray. Don't waste your money it isn't worth it.

Brisas Del Caribe: Amazing resort

The resort is exactly as it has been for the past five trips that we have been there, the staff are friendly and helpful, there was no problems with food or drinks, Weather was excellent. Will be going back again.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Good Resort

The resort was nice but needs updating in aesthetics. They are trying to keep up with wear and tear but are lacking in places. Where there once was outdoor shower heads to wash off from the beach they have patched it up completely or they are not working. Toilets need to be cleaned regularly and always well equipped with toilet paper. Restaurants were good buffet good especially if you like fish but repetitive all week both lunch and dinner. Perhaps we should get a refund for what they withhold it would have been nice to get some of the options we had new years the rest of the week. Room was fine but for whatever reason they are very reluctant to exchange bath towels something we pay and expect at the very least. They tried to entertain guests with special days/ events and entertainers. Beach was fantastic. Their bars are all very good and the resort tries to appeal to a variety of people with their cigar bar, piano bar and entertainment in the square at night. If they were to work on food and room cleanliness, and outdoor aesthetics it would be more pleasurable to stay at.

Melia Marina Varadero: Not Recommended

I have a long list of disappointments during our stay in Jan/2024: we had arrived at 10pm and on my ask for a cocktail at the bar I was offered coffee or beer, they don't make cocktails after I'm not sure what hour. The elevator didn't work all the time, no mattress protection, bedding wasn't changed, toilet tank was running, it was not properly flushing even after service was called, we had to use garbage can to flush after ourselves. I had to request bottled water every day at the reception desk, they had to place a service call for the water being delivered to the room. Once on my question when it will be delivered, the answer was "when he wants to deliver". Only two small bottles were provided for a day. I was able to change beach towel only once during my stay, they never had clean towels in the morning or close to evening hours. It was our first and last vacation in Cuba.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Nice Size resort

We thought the resort all in all was pretty nice, It appeared that some of the resort was not in use, making it feel like a nice size resort, everything was quite handy. It was great having a 24 hour snack bar that had more than just a ham & cheese sandwich. There were still some shortages of some items but to be expected. There was red wine and Rose wine but no white wine. The grounds were nicely kept and friendly staff.

Melia Marina Varadero: Great location and Great Food

The location is absolutely superb. The room are spacious and have balcony facing the sea or the pool. The food was spectacular and the staff are very friendly. The hotel is under minor renovations and elevator was not working . However overall we give this hotel a four star .

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Resort review

We just came back from PARADISUS PRINCESA del mar in Cuba. I was concerned as soon as we drove up to the gates and the light was knocked over and the m in mar on the sign was falling off. The rooms and resort in general are run down. It’s obvious Cuba is experiencing shortages. I heard the food in Cuba wasn’t good but was not expecting how poor it was. We do no [... read more]t drink alcohol and the offerings for drinks was extremely limited and mostly undrinkable. The staff are doing there best but we couldn’t even get clean towels in the room they were changed once the whole 7 days. Tipping was also expected for every service. Get a coffee, need to tip. Seven days and a tip for every drink adds up pretty quick. The beach was the best part gorgeous not busy beautiful sand.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: We had a good stay

Paradisus Princess Del Mar managed to provide a very good service to their guests. the staff were accommodating and helpful. we had an Enjoyable stay and plan to book the same resort again in the near future.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Grave disappointment!

Going down I was aware of the shortages in Cuba but I guess I was surprised at just how far they went to make things stretch. Everything was watered down. The drinks, the sauces. There was no pop in the whole resort and mostly no milk and only 1 kind of juice a day. The buffet served the same thing all week and the al a carte restaurants are closed. A lot of the washrooms had no toilet paper and some had no toilet seats. Some people had no air conditioning, others had doors that wouldn't w [... read more]ork. Remotes had no batteries. One guy was told that his TV didn't work because it was TOO NEW! I was with a group of 24 people who had no room phone service because the building had been hit by lightening before we got there, { who knows how long before } and they still put them all in that building with no way to contact the front desk about problems. To walk from our rooms to the reception and back was 1 km. I realize that Covid hit them hard and they are also switching ownership but I was blindsided by a hotel that is still advertised as a 4 when it struggles to be a 2.5 at best. Given 3 to 5 years, I hope it is able to achieve a 4 star rating again but, I won't be going. Sincerely, MKB P.S. This was my second time at this resort. I have also stayed at Grand Memories twice.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Amazing resort

Ground and public area were very beautiful but no housekeeping service at all. We were very disappointed, no towels, no water. We called the front desk many time without any result. The restaurant was clean but no vegan options are available. I will never recommend it to any of my family and friends

Club Kawama: Great service

No complaints …. Standard but service, food, beach was amazing . Massage on site, accommodating to change of room. Invitation to Restaurants in the area . Staff remembered my name, always a smile .

Memories Jibacoa: Disgusted and extremely disappointed

Was extremely disappointed. I was severely ill with food poisoning. Cheeses and cold cuts were not kept at the proper temperature. I suspect the food in the buffet was not stored properly. Lots of people were ill. We will never go back to that hotel or to Cuba. A total waste of money and time. Would not recommend. Boring hotel with a lack of activities. Not a 4 star perhaps 2 stars. The entire party of 4 were ill. Varadero disgusting, no toilet seats. Havana dirty, faeces all over the streets

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Good resort

The reception area was inviting and clean., nice atmosphere. The grounds were amazing well kept. The pools were good. Rooms were ok. 3 stars. Food fair. Alacates were fine. Room service was bad. Loved their cappachinos, were amazing. There was food sortages eg coke, butter etc.

Melia Las Antillas: Great resort.

We really enjoyed this resort. The beach was stunning. We walked for hours each direction every day. The food and drinks were Soo good!! Make sure you have a bloody marry from the beach bar , and the mojitos were delicious! We didn’t have a chance To do any of the alacart restaurants but the buffet was really good. Their fresh buns were to die for. They also had this fried chicken that was sooo good , and beef Wellington one night ! The staff here are all amazing. Very helpful. I think the only thing we didn’t enjoy about the resort is the sharks , they have 3 sharks they keep in this gross smoggy stinky pond. Doesn’t seem very humane.

Melia Las Antillas: Great time at this resort!

Very nice resort. A little dated , needs a bit of work in some areas .Rooms were clean , maid service was good. All the staff were very friendly. Always a smile and a greeting. We thought the food was good. We are not picky eaters but we were happy with food. The A la Cartes were very good. Our favorite was the Italian. Gorgeous beach and pool area very nice. We would recommend this Resort.
