Memories Paraiso: Nice Grounds

Nice grounds well kept by gardeners. Hotel rooms in need of minor maintenance. Need more vegan and vegetarian options for food. The rooms did not have enough blankets and our bar fridge did not work and took 4 days to be addressed. The shower head leaked and the AC only had 1 setting, freezing or hot.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Okay Resort

The resort is a 3 star. Food was cold at the buffet for breakfast, lunch and supper. Not sure if they had problems with the warming stations. So have the roasted pork which the person serves you. Or have them cook the meat for you. We did diamond club and ate breakfast 6 mornings at the Mediterranean Restaurant. This is a nice quiet place to eat. Our room was sold and we ended up getting our room the next day which is a bungalow. After complaining and he admitted to me that he sold our room. Al Fresco room is a bungalow. With an outdoor shower and a bathtub and indoor shower. It is very dated and may not look clean. The 2 story walk up rooms are beautiful and have been redone. The only thing, is their is no door for the bathroom. You will have to ask to have your bed sheets changed and ask them to sweep and mop floor. My maid only made the bed everyday and made a nice towel animals. I did tip and gave gifts everyday. The beach is amazing and the waiter on the beach was great. Yes you can save seats even though their is a sign saying not to at the beach. The pizza hut they have on the beach makes tasty pizza. Hot dog was good burger not so great. If you love long beaches where you can go on forever walks this place is great. Pay 25 pesos to go on a catermeran to snorkel is awesome. My husband said the fishes he saw is what he would have seen Scuba diving. I don't think it is worth to pay diamond club. Basically you get to eat breakfast in a quiet restaurant in the morning and lunch twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Hi. I am definitely disappointed We are came on Friday, on the next day 300 Russians came! drinks & food was not enough for everybody, in the room (fridge) gave only 1 beer (we are 2 adults, what we suppose to do? One is drinking & the other is looking???). And towels.... they gave us 1 for 3 persons. No activity at all. The good thing is ocean!!! Beach was clean. By the way, room was clean as well.

It was a nice resort we enjoyed our stay there it was clean the staff was very friendly However found the pool very cold We had to use the medical facilities on resort and would like to say the medical staff was excellent with my wife

Grand Memories Varadero: Grand memories Varadero

Hotel grounds , lobby area , staff and beach are 5 star. I recommend doing the upgrade to diamond club as quality of the rooms, liquor, beach chairs, service etc is worth the money. Al a cart restaurants are good but they need one or two more as you are only allowed three if you have the upgrade, and only allowed one booking. Staff are great but should be more aware of the rude people that Butt in at the bars, coffee stations, as well as at the cook stations ! These butt in are totally obvi [... read more]ous and very rude! There should be signs Letting these people know that there is a line up. If something is being cooked ie at the Fish station, the cooks should not allow these rude people to take Everything on the grill , after I just waited 10 min for my one piece of fish !!! Overall the resort was clean , well kept, entertaining, staff were awesome. Exchange place was painfully slow.. get there before the line up otherwise you will waste your entire day in the line up.!!

Memories Paraiso: Very disappointing

We visited the resort Nov 21-28/19. This was our second stay. The first was 7 years ago and at that time the resort was amazing so we decided to go again. It was bad from the start this time. An over eager trolley driver rushed us into a room which had not yet been properly cleaned. We found only one beach towel and tried unsuccessfully for the next 4 days to get the second one in order to avoid being charged for it at check out. When we mentioned the leak to our travel rep he immediately promised to help us get our room room changed and told us we would be in a new room that evening. When we went to the desk to complete the room change, the woman working did absolutely nothing to assist us, not even checking to verify our claims. The next day when we explained this to the travel rep, he went straight to the customer service manager and arrangements were made through her to definitely get it done that night. We were upgraded from our standard room to a larger room with a balcony-it was very nice room-without a leaky sink and we finally got the second beach towel. But the customer service manager had promised us a special dinner at one of the a la carts on our last night. We arrived for this dinner at the agreed time, expecting something special to make up for the inconvenience we tolerated. But instead no one knew anything about the supposed arrangements made by the customer service manager. It seems this department is very poor in communication-a team is only as good as their leader. Over all, this trip was disappointing. We had arrived with high expectations based on a previous visit only to come away feeling that this once 5 star resort, now claiming to be a 4 star should actually be listed as a 2 1/2 or maybe 3 star resort.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Nice resort.

The people are the greatest at the resort. the water and the beaches are great. I and several others were sick for 3 days from the ice, food? Others on the previous tour before us were sick as well. The food is not the greatest. My biggest complaint is the two plus hours standing in line to check our bags at the Sunwing lines at the airport when leaving. No air conditioning and poor service there.

Memories Paraiso: Stay elsewhere.

Good: weather, beach, service and price. Bad: had to change room because of ants in bed, balcony and hotel lobby smell like sewage. Ugly: today is the 4th day my friend and I have to stay near by a toilet, uncooked seafood:-(

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Some good, some not so good!

The good: the beach was very nice, with clean, white sand and the ocean is that gorgeous blue! We were in building #4 and the rooms were clean (although my boyfriend did kill one cockroach in our room, but it's the tropics, so.....). However, the king-size bed in our room was extremely uncomfortable and the pillows were horrible. My friend was in building #1 and her bed was very soft and comfortable, so I'm not sure what the standard is for this resort. The 2 pools were nice; the hotel is l [... read more]isted as having 4 pools, however, two of the pools are "kiddie pools" by the children's play area and not for adults. The grounds and walkways to all areas were clean and well kept. The one significant complaint that we had is that we upgraded our stay to "Diamond Club" and paid $110 per person (CAD) for this for 6 days for "superior services" and it wasn't worth it. Most times it was difficult (if not impossible) to get wine anywhere and the "Diamond Club area" in the lobby bar was not serviced by a bartender as much as the "regular" bar area. In addition, the premium alcohol was not available at all of the bars and they were constantly running out of mix (i.e. cola, tonic, etc.). However, the one Diamond Club restaurant where you could make reservations for breakfast and lunch everyday, did have wine at all times and great service. The beds on the beach were a nice bonus too.

Grand Memories Punta Cana: Great resort/poor service

I went to this resort with a group of 4 people. The overall resort was great and it was really nice knowing that you can go to the Royalton freely to enjoy the entertainment. The resort was clean and there was a lot to do. The service in the buffet was extremely poor, you wouldn’t get any service until you were done your meal. The refrigerator in the room was hardly filled and I had to call to get service.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Grand Sickness in Cuba

It's difficult to have a Fun Vacation when it becomes a Sick Vacation! My wife and I , and possibly 40 percent of the remaining guests were violently ill and spent two and a half days in the loo.The causes after discussions with other sick guests were many: tainted food,contaminated ice at the bars,contaminated glasses,improperly and unhygienic public bathrooms,questionable water etc. etc.

The grounds and the beach were very well kept and clean. The hotel people were very friendly and helpful. When we arrived in Cuba, it was very confusing which bus we were to take to the resort as the Sunwing representative did not greet us. We ended up taking a taxi to the resort. The lakefront room had a great view and the noise from the other rooms was minimal. I was a little surprised that there wasn't any face clothes or facial tissue in the room. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Loved it!

We absolutely had a wonderful time at Memories Flamenco. We plan on returning this spring! The food was good by Cuban standards and the room was comfortable. We loved the gorgeous beach and beach beds on the Diamond Club side which we splurged on. Friendly staff were helpful across the resort and helped to make the holiday memorable. Overall it was one of the best experiences in Cuba we have had as a whole. Can't wait to return!

Memories Jibacoa: The best resort ever.

The grounds are amazing, looks like the very best botanical gardens , I would compair to the ones we saw in London, England. The staff are the friendliest and most helpful. By the 2nd day they were family. Always happy and say Hola to you. The manager Kiki (very handsome ) just ask for anything and it is done. The rooms are very nice and the housekeeping staff are the best. And what can I say about the food & drinks, I gained 5 lbs Lol. Thank you for a great time

Grand Memories Varadero: Great Vacation as always in Cuba

The grounds were clean. The rooms were clean but dated as all resorts in Cuba. Food was alright, average for Cuba resorts. Highlights was the pool, very clean! Great pool bar and loud and quiet pools!

Memories Trinidad Del Mar: overall it is a very good resort

everything is very good, except 1) no bike rental 2) no free snorkeling both of them should have, depend on their advertising. Maybe I will have holiday there again.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing resort, amazing staff!

We've been to another Memories in this area, and the service from the staff has been constantly wonderful. What stands out from this particular location however is the beach. I've never seen such fine sand. On this trip, we simply wanted to relax and this was completely possible. The pool area can get a bit noisy, what with its dancing lessons, contests and the like, but that seems to be a normal thing at all resorts; but it's pretty peaceful until 11 in the morning. The solution is to move [... read more] to the beach for the afternoon. Our favorite spot is the sports bar. A lot of people don't discover it because it seems to be well hidden for some reason. The rooms are pretty spacious and the cleaning staff was great. As for food, it was typical Cuban style. Just find stuff that you like and you'll be fine for the week. The bacon was abnormally slimy, but just get the omlet guy to fry it up a little and it works. We're definitely planning to go back to this location.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Lovely vacation

The hotel was lovely. Well kept grounds, everything immaculate, staff friendly and helpful. Very glad there was no loud music playing on the beach. A bit too noisy at pool area. Room quiet and comfortable. Food varied and plentiful. Would certainly return.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Sanctuary at Grand Memories

Very pleased with my recent stay at the Sanctuary. The check in and out process was the fastest I have ever experienced. The staff and service we excellent for the most part. The food was good, but being Cuba, there were times when some things were just not available. Our Butlers, Mercedez and Diyan were most attentive and provided us with everything we needed during our stay. Pedro from the lobby bar at Grand Memories was fantastic. All in all, it was a pretty good value for the price.  [... read more]I would recommend the upgrade to butler service and unlimited a la cart dinners though as the buffet can become a bit monotonous after a few days of breakfast, lunch and dinner.
