Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Great beaches

The hotel itself was amazing. Great beaches , the staff went out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Extremely friendly. But the food was not very good. I didn't like that there were not any buffets, it was off a menu but always the same food.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Friendliest staff ever!

Rooms are a little dated, at least in the bungalow that we stayed in. Lights in the bathroom were terrific but the rest of the room was dimly lit. Food was good but very inconsistent in “temperature “. Some foods in the buffet are warm, others are quite cool when they should be hotter. At the seafood restaurant, the potatoes served with the lobster were ice cold, and our plates were missing the vegetables we were told would accompany the lobster. Staff at the resort are phenomenal. Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Great Vacation!

The Royalton Hideaway Cancun was great! The adults only section was great and you could get everything you need without mixing with all the families on the other side of the resort. The room, the restaurants, the shows and the STAFF were awesome. I don't think I got up for a drink once! The ONLY downside to this resort is the beach. Although long and had beautiful white sand, there was a ton of seaweed and the first 10-20 feet into the water it was very murky. Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Good family resort

Really beautiful beaches, slightly crowded. The simulated surfing pool and lazy river were a big family hit. The dining in the buffet was great in selection and preparation however the steakhouse was below a 4 star rating( took an hour for the food and no flavour). Rooms are well maintained and all other services were to standard. Unfortunately the Kids club staff were unfriendly, inactive, unengaging and unwelcoming.( we’ve been to many other resorts and our children have enjoyed the kids  [... read more]club except for this resort) I was surprised in this as this is a resort that boasts its family oriented place of stay. I was also surprised to see the Kids club is not a category on this survey or one that I completed at the resort.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Very good resort. I would return to it.

This resort is very lovely. I found the grounds very well maintained and clean. The beach is beautiful and yes there was seaweed every day but that is out of their control. It is at every resort, and they did their best to clean it up. The rooms are big and very comfortable. The shower is great. I have no complaints about the door not shutting. I checked it every time. The pizzas from the Italian restaurant that they make at the little take out during the day are delicious and the same goes for  [... read more]the little chip wagon they have down by the beach. The only complaint I could make about the beach is that they should remove the first row of huts because it makes for people walking the beach to be right where you are and no room for sunbathers because when the waves (high tide)come in the loungers are getting wet so everyone is right up against the huts. Also the people trying to sell stuff come right threw the entire area not like other resorts that I have been to along Bavaro Beach. I agree with other people about no being able to make reservations at the restaurants make for long line ups and sometimes not even getting in and going back to the buffet which the food was very good. I would not hesitate to go back to this resort and will.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: A very fine resort

There were 6 of us (adults) who went to this resort for the first time. All of us thought it was one of the best we have been to. The staff is excellent. The food is very good. One nice thing is all but one (Japanese) of the restaurants do not need reservations. The rooms are great. Lots of pools and loungers. We did not have any kids with us, but it is definitely a great family resort. The lazy river is a blast. Would definitely go back.

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Great Family Resort

My husband, 8 year old son and I just got back from a week at the Royalton White Sands. We had a great time. On our last day we did a little review of our experiences and I am happy to share it with you. Rooms Pros (Luxury Room Level on 2nd Floor) -Clean, nicely decorated rooms - great shower - view of Zen restaurant - small but nice balcony Cons - initially we were put in a room that faced the water treatment system and staff room, we complained and were moved to a room facing Ze [... read more]n restaurant - room category exactly the same but view is terrible Hotel Grounds Pros - beautiful, lush and well groomed grounds - clean and easy to get around the resort - everything is close - well mapped out (kids activities are placed together / adult spaces placed together) (no Cons) Food and Restaurants Pros - tons of food options (buffet at Gourmet Marche was great) - good quality breads, cheese, meat, fruit and veggies - unlimited mimosas (my fav) - coffee bar open late - ice cream parlour open late - 5 other restaurants all beautifully decorated - got to dine under the stars several nights while watching live performances so fun! Cons - Steak house meat was good but over cooked Entertainment - the entertainment was great, we really appreciated the obvious effort that went into the entertainment - loved Beauty and the Beast performance, Synchronized Swimming performance and Jamaica Trivia night - we loved the pride that the staff and performers showed for their country - and we love Bob Marley and all the tributes to his music (no cons) Staff Pros - honestly the staff were lovely, they generally seemed happy to serve and were very appreciative of our gratitude - Marie who cleaned our room, was so lovely and give us big smiles everyday - the staff at the water sports were really cool and made us really feel welcome Cons - when you arrive they try to get you into some time share or "resort rewards program" we were only pestered a few times, but as my husband says " we are not paying for another vacation on our vacation". - staff can be slow to respond to requests - staff unclear or off limited details and information especially when it comes to off resort excursions Facilities Pros - beautiful pools - several kids pools - several adult pools - 4 large waterslides - mini water park for little kids - foosball table -pool table -pingpong - shared facilities with sister resort Blue Waters - plenty of lounge chairs, sofas, tables to chill at Cons - the tennis courts (2) are located on top of one of the restaurants and the nets are falling down, it is on astro-turf, not really cared for. If you are a family of tennis players it is pretty disappointing. - no green space for kids to play soccer or just run around on grass Beach Pros - clean, white sand beach - lots of beach chairs and beach umbrellas Cons - pan-handlers, and people trying to sell stuff to you, sketchy people around - limited beach size - water not that smooth or still - small island off resort not kept clean Over all we gave the resort a 7.9 out of 10

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Great Find!! Highly Recommend

We were pleasantly surprised, especially after hearing other people's experiences from other resorts. We met a few couples who stay here every year, one couple has been to this resort 7 times! We were treated well; they took our bags for us, explained how things worked and then paired us off with our buttler (like a concierge, but they are only paired to a few rooms so you get more personal attention) who gave us a personal tour of the resort, drove us to our room, and showed us around. We didn' [... read more]t use the butlers much, but some people took full advantage and really appreciated the service. We arrived just after Christmas and it (amazingly) did not feel crowded, and the service was great! After New Years things relaxed even more. My one caution is that they fumigate the resort every morning, I think this is necessary given the surrounding environment, but worth noting if you're sensitive. And we did find the odd bug in our room, but again, hard to avoid. The food was good, but after a while I missed spices and rich chocolate desserts. I was hesitant about the food at first, but eventually realized that everything was very sanitary and had no problems. The rooms were very nice, nice big shower, and a normal sized tub. They are not new, but they have been kept in quite good repair. Our only problem was that the patio door was very hard to open and close. It took us a few days to realize that the shower door doubles as a toilet door, by design, which is brilliant.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Beautiful - New Resort

Amazing hotel - well maintained - well manicured lawns - a fun place for adults and children of all ages. Excellent cuisine in all the restaurants. The best for variety of fruits and vegetables. fish, seafood and meats. Lazy river so much fun - lots of pool and beach activities. Drawback - Diamond Club exclusives - in the specialty restaurants that are open to all, Diamond Club members get priority reservations. Diamond Club have their own restaurant and pool which if fine, but I am not a second class guest. Rooms large and clean and modern, however, the free-standing jacuzzi tub situated in the middle of the floor as you enter is strange. Great staff, excellent location on Bavaro beach - lots of sun cover and very comfortable chairs. Still, the treatment of non-Diamond Club members would keep me from going back.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Incredible resort, food, staff and beach! Best. Honeymoon. Ever.

My husband and I just returned from our 11 day honeymoon at the Royalton in Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba. This was my fourth visit to Cuba, but a first to Cayo Santa Maria and the beach and resort exceeded my expectations. We started off by meeting our butlers for the week, Maria and Javier, who were so professional, friendly and helpful. When we walked out our door each morning, they were there to greet us with a friendly smile, ask how our day before had been and asked if there was anything they nee [... read more]ded or could do for us for the day. You name it, they did their best to take care of it. Maria set up our dinner reservations for our stay including a special one set up by the pool for returning guests and honeymooners, Javier set up a special bath with flowers floating and champagne for us. Our requests weren't huge, but included new batteries in the TV remote for the evening, shaving cream, and water in the room and everything was provided in a timely manner. There were three consistent managers we saw day and night, always helping out, talking with guests and making sure everyone was having the best experience possible. Any issues were taken care of immediately. Beyond that, the food was incredible and I was pleasantly surprised as my expectations for food in Cuba were not high. There is no buffet here, which I liked because it gave us a chance to have a served meal every night and I found the quality of food to be better this way. Guests at the Royalton have the option to eat the buffet (or restaurants) at the Memories resort next door, but we never felt the need to do that as we didn't hear the best reviews about food there. Our part of the beach was the most beautiful (if I do say so myself). The room was really spacious and clean. The air conditioner worked amazing, I haven't slept so well in years! The entertainment at night was very good. It was more intimate and I liked that. I find the big staged performances a little cheesy. This included bands, dancers and musicians and I was really impressed - everyone was so talented. The pool was beautiful, infinity style and there was an upper pool and lower pool (upper was a bit more quiet, lower had music and afternoon entertainment). Both were gorgeous, with really comfortable and high quality beds as well as cabanas with curtains that swayed in the wind (small things make a big difference for me!). The bar we liked the most was the lobby bar, its ambiance was so relaxing and sophisticated. In the evening, someone was always playing the piano, dressed so well and the drinks there was so good. We favoured the Spanish coffees, but I also liked getting tea there to settle in for the night. For those who are wondering, internet worked well, though we weren't on our phones much. Your given a card, either pay 1 CUC for an hours worth of time or we were also given three hours free, just remember to turn your wifi off when you're not using it or the time will continue and you'll run out! There were little cats on the resort, but they were harmless. They didn't bother you unless you gave them attention or food (the resort staff asks you not to feed them for obvious reasons, but people still do because Canadians are suckers for pets!). They were actually really cute and we named them all. One last thing, we noticed smaller palm trees with stones at the bottom that had people's names on them. Apparently, if you visit this resort three times, you get to plant one and have your name there (how sweet is that?). Both my husband and I would highly recommend this resort if you're travelling to Cayo Santa Maria. It's close to two hours from the airport, but it's definitely worth the drive.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Fantastic experience!

Accommodations were clean and beautifully appointed. There was always something to do without having to leave the resourt. The beach was fantastic and the pools were great. Resourt staff were friendly and accommodating. The only criticism I could offer is that it sometimes felt as though the extra attention to diamond club members at restaurants created temporary deficiencies in service for non-diamond club members.

Royalton Punta Cana Resort: Lovely Resort with great staff

This resort is very nice, however the room we received needed some refacing. Had a few issues with the room but got them dealt with! Staff need to improve their english so when we ask for soap, face cloth they know what we mean. Also need to allow all guests to able to reserve tables at all the restaurants. Also need to enforce no reserving chairs.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Overall Good Stay

We enjoyed our week stay. 1. Very nice employees . 2. When reaching out with concerns we always received a follow up call to the room. 3. Food was very good , plentiful and well presented 4. Beach front was a 7/10. 5. We would say a 4.5 / 5 stars 6. Resort is starting to show age.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Hideaway at Christmas 2nd time around!

This is for sure one of our most favourite resorts to go to! You are treated so kind and the staff and everyone go out of their way to make you feel like you are home! We had a bit of a hiccup on last day but they rectified that situation within a half hour and we were well on our way to enjoying our last day and night there with a few extra perks. We felt bad as we always tip and didn't that particular night. Last year that had been one of our favourites. Sure it will be again. Christmas eve dinner was very nice at the Dorado. Want to give a shoutout to Mauricio and Lilianne who took very good care of us at the pool . We always had towels and a great spot we happened to like at the pool. At the buffet some of our favourites was Ivan, and Alberto and Sergio. Some our favourite bartenders and bar staff was Joel, Henry, Gwendy and of course George. They all were great ! Just need to start writing down all the names so can make sure each one gets recognized. Even on arrival I think Adrien or Adriana checked us in and was very helpful and gave us a wonderful room and our friends who accompanied us and it was there 1st time. Cant wait to go back again....maybe next Christmas and we have a few more to maybe take next time. Love it there at the Hideaway!!

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Fun Times!

The Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa was great. The beach, pool areas, washrooms, bars, restaurants were kept very clean. Staff were very friendly. Pizza spot and chip truck were great, although wait times were sometimes long. Nice to be able to enjoy this on the beach or by the pool without having to get dressed to go inside. Buffet was ok, nothing spectacular. Breakfast service with coffee was slow and sometimes they didn't even offer coffee. Steak house was terrible! We waited for three [... read more] hours and then the food was not cooked how we ordered it, everyone's steak was rare. Staff at the bars were great, especially those at the bar outside of the Italian restaurant. Lazy river was alot of fun. The activities we participated in were fun but it would have been nice to have the full schedules posted somewhere other than in the main lobby. Rooms were kept clean with daily service although sometimes it was pretty late in the day when they arrived which was inconvenient. Overall, this was a great holiday and the hotel met our expectations.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Amazing Resort!

Royalton Bavaro was a wonderful family getaway over the Christmas holidays. Nicolle booked us a seamless adventure and we will book through her again! The resort was on the ocean, allowed for lots of beach walking and play and resort had some wonderfully amazing employees who went the extra mile to be of assistance to us each and every day. Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: BEST EVER!

By Far best service we have ever had. Great entertainment, great food, super comfortable beds, great friendly staff! We stayed at the Hideaway and can't wait to go back ! Pools everywhere you turn and bars everywhere as well, top shelf brands of alcohol too... Love this place :)

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: nice resort but service needs to be improved

fairly new resort with great facilities nice pool but mediocre beach service is not comparable to Mexico and Dominican Republic, probably due to local culture, so don't set your exception too high rented Cabana but was very disappointed by the service as the cooler did not arrive until afternoon and they took it away earlier than supposed to. food at the buffet is good but do not expect much from the restaurants, food truck and jerk bbq station by the pool are decent.
