Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Valentin Imperial Maya in Playa del Carmen
Laura Mulvihill-Spry was our travel agent for this vacation and I feel that she did a fantastic job. I would give this resort 5 stars. The hotel staff was very friendly always saying hello and communicated well in english as well as some french. Although our room was not ready on our first night they upgraded us to a king suite just outside of the lazy river, and they made the transition to the other room the next day as painless as possible. The rooms were cleaned daily (you can arrange for a t[... read more]ime that works better for you), and they had turn down service at night. Meals were fantastic and waiters were professional but look exhausted and unhappy while they were serving. We also enjoyed the 24hour room service (food usually showed up within 45min after ordering). They had multiple swimming areas (one with party music and activities, and offered a quieter area. The beach was immaculate (they raked it every morning). The swimming area was clearly marked and there was a lifeguard available most hours during the day. The grounds were well kept and plush with greenery and tropical flowers. They also seemed to have activities throughout the day and entertainment every night. We loved our stay.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Amazing resort!
This resort was so wonderful and so well kept. Everyone was so happy and pleasant. Food was incredible for an all inclusive and never a shortage of anything. Our room was really great, nice sized and beds are sooo comfy which is not the norm in Mexico.

Grand Oasis Cancun: great food, great staff and a fun resort
The Oasis is a great entertainment resort. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and Joys trattoria very much. The menu at Joys includes steak and the best tasting chicken parm, the spaghetti was delicious. The snack bar area had tasty chicken, burgers, hot dogs, an ice cream machine and a taco stand. We did not visit the chinese restaurant as we heard it wasn't so great. One thing they sure have good recipes in Joys and the buffet, I hope they never change the recipes. The snack bar advertised tacos[... read more] but only had soft shell, hard corn shells would be nice. The meat, vegetables and deserts are amazing, breakfast was always excellent! The mexican restaurant could use a bit more mexican dishes like fijitas, and the dinner for two was skimpy, three prawns for two and a bunch of pork rinds, barley enough for one. The red circus was just plain weird. The costumes were cool but it made no sense, it was a long and drawn out show. A mexican or mayan themed show would be much better. The grounds and rooms are clean and very pretty. There is so much to do just in the resort. The entertainment was very entertaining, except the red circus. We are older people and enjoyed the beach club with the young aldults and the Coyote Loco club. At times the halls get very noisy with the bar hoppers getting in at 6am and it echos throughout. Maybe some weather stripping around the doors would help curb the noise. The reception on the television was lame with a constant hum, but who is there to watch tv? The beach is fantastic, soft clean sand with a huge beach area with lots of beach chairs, in fact there are many seating areas to choose all over the hotel area. The ocean waves and colours are beautiful. Some hotels we have been at in Cancun we could never get good beach or poolside seating, the Oasis had plenty. there was no garbage or sea debris on the beach or coming ashore. The staff was always happy, friendly and quick to serve, seldom did we wait long for anything. The line for the buffet was less than 5 minutes. The mexican restaurant was 10 minutes. Check in was a long wait with a rookie leaving us in limbo for about a half hour. Drinks were very tasty and innovative. We had issues with the towels but once we complained (twice) it was promptly taken care of. There's lots of single young people (30ish) but never out of control. Sure the hotel is doing upgrades but the construction was not loud or interfering. As far as construction we highly recommend some railings. The large beach stage has a step within itself. The whole stage is about 10 feet from the ground and there are no railings. The stairs leading to the beach have a rise in each step that is too large. The rise is too high for the injured or the disabled, and there are no railings. Grandpa is a carpenter and has recommendations. Access to the beach is limited if you are disabled or injured. A ramp with a gradual slope and railings would help everyone safe access to the beach. If you put two ramps at opposite ends of the beach access, making an "O" would look very nice, one ramp over the garden on the south? The open area between coffee n us, Coyote Loco, the buffet and Joys got extremely slippery when it rained and a lot of people fell and got injured. Most of the walkways are covered but that area is not. The little ones had a kids club, the little kids all seemed very happy. Everyone seemed very happy. We had a fantastic time at the Oasis and we would definitely go to this hotel again. I am sure the Oasis would love to have us back. Grandpa and Grandma they called us.The Oasis is great place, we made plenty of friends, we highly recommend this hotel.

Princess Mundo Imperial: January 2018 Getaway
The hotel complex was lovely, inside and out.
Service was awesome, drinks and food were as expected.
The buffet was fine (limited and repetitive at times) the restaurants much better...
The resort is a hotel first and all inclusive second, so you have to sign for all drinks and food, even when wearing a wrist band. Coffee was only available at a Starbucks on the premises at an additional charge.
The resort was only 25% full when we arrived on the Wednesday, till the weekend when locals f[... read more]rom Mexico City arrived in bus loads (I loved the break in the quiet routine, mingling and people watching). Sunday afternoon it was back to normal, where we had the run of the beach and three beautiful pools, seemingly to ourselves. A perfect mix :)

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Amazing resort!
The hotel was very well laid out. The Hideaway section offered a great adult ambience but the Royalton pool was also nice. What makes this resort experience so great is the staff. Everyone we encountered was so friendly and nice and gave us excellent service. The food is also very good. Not one bad meal. Some meals were meant to be savoured and so the service was slower so you could enjoy the experience. This was our second time visiting this resort and we would go back again.

Secrets Huatulco: Best all inclusive ever!
The hotel was exactly as advertised. Great food, top shelf drinks, super comfortable beds and a wonderful attentive staff.
The infinity pools were the right depth for doing water aerobics and "walking with drinks"!!!
The beach is a bit iffy but the little bay a few metres away, down a short pathway was lovely and you could watch the local fishermen.
We will definitely go back next year perhaps for 2 weeks!

Riu Emerald Bay: Would definitely return to this resort!
Everything was wonderful except the beds were too hard. We asked the front desk and the maids put a topper on our beds to make them a bit softer. Huge beach, awesome staff, fabulous drinks and food...what more can you ask?

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: One of the best
Many advantages make this resort one of the best on Mayan Riviera: beautiful buildings, very nice grounds and facilities, friendly staff, close to the airport and various sites to visit, adult, access to 4 other Iberostar resorts within walking distance. This is our 6th time at this resort which says a lot.

Riu Dunamar: place was fantastic. why are people complaining
For a brand new resort and reading all the complaints I was expecting the worst and received the best.
There are a few tiny areas where they need to work the kinks out . Did these kinks ruin our holiday NO!!.
The resort just opened 1 1/2 prior to our trip and the staff are working very hard to make this a perfect experience for you. Nothing wrong with the rooms. Frosted glass on the shower is NOT a big issue and the A/C noise others have complained about goes un noticed after the first [... read more]day. Its like living next to an airport or railway tracks,. You don't even notice after you get used to it.
Beach was great, as were the four pools. The water park was a fun way to spend an afternoon. It was staffed lots of life guards who were always watching to make sure the sider riders were OK after each splash into the water.
Food was excellent both at the Buffett and the al a cartes . I have no idea what the complainers are talking about on this topic. I guess they should stay at home and have their maids and butlers prepare their gourmet meals for them.
Entertainment was your average resort stuff. The entertainment staff worked very hard to get people out of their loungers and participating. If you don't want to play games , don't sit at the games pool . to easy
After reading all the complainers reviews prior to leaving we were wishing we had not booked . I'm soooo glad we did. This place is very nice and We would not hesitate to go back again!!!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Awesome resort
This resort is a five star in my mind. My husband and I were there for 9 days. This was our first time at a Iberostar. The food, grounds, employees, beach all was so good. The grounds with all the green and birds is very plesent to walk through as you make your journey from you room to the buffet. We were in 33 building so a fair walk but very enjoyable with the grounds to enjoy. They have enough chairs and palapa at the beach that you always get one you do not need to save them. The employees are[... read more] excellent, our air conditioner was not working when we got to our room. We informed them it was fixed within 20 min. Impressive. Beach is beautiful, was windy when we were there so water was rough but that is not the resorts control. Very lovely stay.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Very nice resort
Very nice rooms, good food, good staff! The resort is large enough with different areas so that it doesn't feel crowded. Thought the spa prices were high. The a la carte restaurants--Mexican and Italian were very good; however, the Tepan Yaki at the Japanese restaurant was extremely salty.

Grand Riviera Princess: Beautiful resort
Staff was wonderful
Rooms clean
The food in general was okay. I would have liked more variety.
Grounds were kept very nicely with the exception of the restrooms nearest the beach. More frequent attendance to these bathrooms is required.
Alcoholic beverages were poor in taste. The wine was terrible and much of the liquor seemed to have been watered down.
Loved the variety of pools and the spacing between them. There was an area for every age and preference of activity. The areas ranged fr[... read more]om more younger people to more older. Great pools for the children.

Las Brisas Ixtapa: Beautiful Resort, Amazing Food!
The Las Brisas is a stunning building in a beautiful location. The grounds are immaculate with the feeling of being in the jungle. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially the Air Canada Vacations representative who met us at the airport and was available every day in the hotel. The food has to be the best food we have experienced in our many visits to Mexico. The beach is private so there are no vendors. It's a large resort built on the side of a hill so there is lots of walking requ[... read more]ired. Fortunately the elevators were reliable so we could avoid the stairs. Anyone with mobility problems will find the location challenging as the ramps beside the stairs are quite steep.
The only criticism would be that the building is starting to show it's age. Minor maintenance issues in our room, such as a loose towel rod and a loose bathroom door knob.

Excellence Riviera Cancun: The Best
This resort is by far one of the best places I have been to. This is our 3rd time and it definitely won’t be the last. Customer service is excellent. The set up and food are phenomenal. We stayed on the third floor in building 4. I have stayed in other building and did not find one better than another. My favourite entertainment this year was called a silent dance. Everyone wore headphone and there were three different songs playing on different channels of the headphone. The whole crowd was u[... read more]p dancing the whole night. Such a fun night! Hope they have it again next year.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Best trip to mexico so far.
Staff extremely friendly , willing to help with anything you need. There were more than enough buffet options, being a smaller resort. The beach was beautiful and never had to worry about getting a beach chair. You had to enter the water off a wharf directly off the beach. The evening entertainment was amazing considering they also worked all day doing the resort entertainment. (Pools, beach, general activities).Over all our best trip to date. Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Average hotel
We arrived at Secret Silversands on January 16, 2018! While at the front desk they offered us an upgrade for the honeymoon suite for a good price, so we took it! When we entered the room the incense was burning! So they were masking the smell! So we changed and went on our way through the resort! When we came back to the room to change my husband and i noticed the smell but there was a towel blocking the drain in the shower. After dinner when we were going to bed we noticed the turndown se[... read more]rvice had another incense was burned! So couldn’t really smell anything! The next morning we noticed the smell again! On Thursday I couldn’t take the smell anymore and asked the maid she said it was coming from both the toilet and the shower drain! She gave us a whole bunch of incense to burn! On Thursday evening our friends how were staying in another room came to our room and she couldn’t take the smell either. Friday morning I went to the front desk and they said they would handle it! We were on our tour on that day so didn’t see if anyone actually came! All they did was block the drain again with a towel! Still the toilet had the smell! Saturday evening before dinner I went to the premier lounge to complain again and they said they would send someone! We had dinner just below our room and would have noticed if someone went in and the whole time nobody went to the room! Sunday afternoon I went again! They told me they handled it, I explained to them that they didn’t! They said they would send someone again! All they did was block the drain again with a towel! But nothing for the toilet! On Monday we decided to leave it alone as we were leaving on Tuesday morning but when we did leave I did explain to the front desk that the smell was horrible and was very disappointed that nothing was done! We waisted the money on the upgrade!
We also found that the food at the breakfast was always the same arrangement! There was no difference from day to day! Lunch you had a lot more of a choice! Dinners were ok! We found that the best dinner was the steak house!
Other then that I was very dissolved with this vacation! We have been to Secrets Capri and found that resort to be a lot better then Secrets Silversands!
I’m not sure if I would recommend this resort!

Grand Oasis Cancun: Nice Resort
My daughter and myself really enjoyed our stay the rooms could be updated but we were not in room much only to sleep maybe more comfortable pillows would be better also include free wifi and safe lock with the all inclusive package that would be alot better but the food was great but could be more variety between lunch & supper as it was same at buffet almost but overall nice resort lots of music and nice pool beautiful beach just be aware there is not much shaded areas if you need to get out of[... read more] sun if you burn easily or cake on the sunscreen haha if you have kids on your trip not worth upgrading to the black wristbands as they are mostly for going to more restaurants and bars which kids are not allowed in the upgraded ones anyhow so if you upgrade services only not worth the extra expense
the rooms were average could of been worse so we are still happy thanks and the cleaning people and people who stock the mini fridge were very friendly as well as the front desk check in guy he was sooo friendly and very helpful so we had a great trip thank you😃

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Very nice resort!
This resort was beautiful. The food was very good and the staff was amazing. I found it to be a very quiet resort...too quiet for us. If you are a diver...this is definitely paradise. For us...we prefer nice beaches and a more lively atmosphere.
