Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Fantastic!

Everything was just wonderful - the food, the staff, the amenities, the friends we met. Was just lovely! Going back next year. Can't wait. Only thing I can complain about is having to go home :-(((

Be Live Experience Hamaca Suites: What you get not what you see!

Hello..just returned from our first holiday together at the Be live Garden in Bocha Chia ..here we go...one thing I will say is particular staff on the beach side of the hotel were amazing and helped to make many of our disappointments better..Ty RAPHEAL AND ELVIS ESPECIALLY for going above and beyond you guys rock!! Food at hotel was surprisingly good ESPECIALLY the Italian restaurant yummy!! Now our disappointments were plentiful..there was no games room with pool table or darts etc as advert [... read more]ised and We are advid players of both 😞. All the beautiful pictures that depicted the resort amenities were of the Vip areas only and were not included for our access..in addition the hotel does not advertise the set up of the hotels properly meaning the buffet is on the garden side and is accessed by guests from all 3 hotels which are a distance between one another and this makes for overcrowded space when wanting to eat.. The snack bar would close and was said to be 24hours maybe Dominicans 24hour clock is broke !!!! How about some beer in our room fridge as promised daily but NO had to buy our own.. Fortunately our room amenities all worked and We were fine with our room however many guests who paid for suites or upgrades had many non working facilities in their rooms just be aware..over all great trip with the man I love but I have never been to a resort where there was so many false promises and the gift tables that were set up daily were in the only passage to get from the front of resort to our room and We were constantly bombarded to purchase every time we passed sooooo annoying..thanks for listening we will not return ..Crystal and Dave.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Luxury is the smart way to go

This was the second time in the last 4 months that we stayed at this resort (Blue first, then Green) with five other couples. We enjoyed being able to walk in the morning though the magnificient grounds and walkways. The beach was nice most of the time, and the pools were well maintained. The food was great, and service was most of the time very efficient, sometimes not too friendly. We had a great time and will probably come back in the coming years.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Paradise on Earth!

I have nothing but great things to say about this resort! The grounds were beautifully maintained. The food was spectacular. Always something new to try and i always loved whatever i tried! I was most amazed at how professional and friendly the staff at Bahia Green was. Pools were clean. Rooms as well. 😉 Hats off to the entertainment (animation) crew. Rainer and Hose You two guys were #1

Occidental Punta Cana: Resort was very nice , beach was beautiful, grounds were clean.

Hotel was very nice, kept clean, beach was beautiful and clean. Housekeeping was not so good, was not given clean towels, they re-folded the dirty towels. Food was not very good at buffett, not much of a variety. Staff were not so friendly, everytime we asked for something they did not bring it to us. Upon arrival the hotel said they did not have accomodation for us and wanted to send us to another resort. I asked staff to check air conditioner in my room as it was not working, and the [... read more]y again asked me if i would like to go to another resort. I would not re-visit this resort .

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Beautiful resort.

The resort was very well kept. I can say I noticed there was no litter around at anytime. The service was excellent. The pool was clean. The weather could've been better but it was good. Warm, better than snow. Our room was spacious, the maid service was excellent. The food was excellent. I can't say anything bad about the resort. I would go back to that resort.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great mid-scale hotel

We were a couple seeking respite from Montreal's cold winter climate. The result was a week at Puerto Plata's Blue Bay Villas Doradas (Feb 6-13, 2017). Our experience there was extremely positive. The food was varied (for a hotel this size) and good. Our room was clean and quiet. So were the grounds and beach front. The guests were 60% 45 or older. The rest were young couples with no children. The hotel has 3 pools: 2 mid-sized, 1 small. There were shows every night after 9:30 pm which  [... read more]were too late for us, so we cannot comment on their quality. Building 2 is next to the show area and should be avoided if quiet is a priority. The quietest part of the hotel are buildings 5-8 which make up a courtyard of their own around the small pool. Buildings 2-4 have a side facing the courtyard (better view) and a side facing the outer fence (quieter, but no view). We stayed in 4 (second floor). Overall second floors are quieter, more private, and offer better views. The hotel also has 3 specialized restaurants, apart from the buffet hall. These restaurants offer variety, but are still unpretentious. At the beach and on the grounds, Blue Bay has made a great effort to decorate the furniture and buildings in its own distinctive style. Our vacation photos reflect this. We also took 2 tours of Puerto Plata, which we enjoyed. The hotel, however, was not responsible for this. Overall then, Blue Bay offers great value for price. We gladly recommend it.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: verry nice resort

Food good and service great, lots to do. Lots of swimming and activities going on all day. Kids was always kept busy. Staff very friendly and go out of their way to help you. Could use a few benches on walkways so if got tired walking you could sit down and take a break.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: 2nd time Ambar Blue

Beautiful hotel/ lobby/rooms/beach/staff/pool...have been 4 times to this complex...different areas but 2nd time to Ambar Blue- will be back again- have travelled to Punta Cana 15 times and this is probably our favourite spot

Puerto Plata Village: Great resort if you are on a budget!

We had a great vacation at Puerto Plata Village! I went with a friend (both 25). The resort met all of our needs. Our only complaints would be that we only had one key, and there were not always beach towels available. You had to go get one in the morning, and were not always able to switch an old one for a new one if you were done in the evening. The hotel room was clean enough. There was some water damage on the ceiling, but that was it. The staff were great! Lots of fun, and tried to get peop [... read more]le involved. Our favourites were Gabrielle and Rikki! There was a kids pool, and one other pool with a swim-up bar. It wasn't the cleanest pool, and it could use some maintenance, but it was alright. The food was nothing special. The same type of stuff every day, but there was more than enough of it. We could take a shuttle or walk to the beach. The shuttle came by every 10 minutes or so, so we never had to wait very long, but we also chose to walk a number of times. It is not very far, and it is a nice walk. The bars were pretty basic. We aren't big drinkers, so we didn't mind. We would have liked to have some more options though. Overall, you get what you pay for. Don't go expecting it to be a 5 star resort, because it isn't. It was better than we expected. We had a fantastic vacation, and would definitely go there again!

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Amazing Resort

Despite my husband's injury pre holiday, we still had an amazing time. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were very comfortable and the food was incredible. I especially enjoyed the grounds which featured water ponds with its own little eco system. The resort itself was beautiful and very well maintained. I would love to visit again. The only disappointment was not being reimbursed for a cancelled excursion. I understand that they have 15 days to effect reimbursement.

Blau Natura Park Resort: Great Vacation!!

We stayed 11 nights and loved this resort.food was great,staff friendly and beach was amazing with lots of shade,only complaint is that the vendors on the beach are very aggressive .we would return to this resort without hesitation Thanks to Oneal Graham at Trip central for helping us book this vacation

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Relaxing resort

Overall the hotel was organized clean efficient the food was above acceptable hot and always full The staff was friendly and the beachfront was clean The resort could use one more bar by the pool and it even could be a swimmer

Riu Merengue: Riu Merengue

Its a nice resort to relax at. People are nice. Experiences vary. Overall, it was good sun, food and drinks. The week I spent there was good. I would go back, however, I would give other resorts the same opportunity.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Everything we were hoping for!

The hotel was awesome. - Best food we've ever had at an all inclusive. We enjoyed all 4 all a carte restaurants, as well as the buffet. - Very organized resort and the staff were friendly/helpful. The check in process was superb. They had you your key the minute you walked off the bus. No need to wait in line at the front desk. - Rooms were nice and very clean. Bed was fairly comfortable, at least by hotel standards. - Beach was amazing, you could walk forever in either direction. Only d [... read more]rawback is there's lots of people selling things on the beach. They're not pushy, but be prepared to say 'no thank you' every 20 minutes. - We liked the pools, although didn't spend much time at either - Older ground, most people we're 50+. Definitely not a party atmosphere, if that's what you're in too. We just wanted to relax, so that was fine by us Overall a great hotel, and would go back in a heart beat.

Riu Republica: A great resort

Has we been traveling the whole day and very tired we were well greeted at he resort with a nice fruity drink. As we arrived to our room I was disappointed to see two small beds and no view. So we went to the front desk to request a better room and was amazed that they accommodated us with a better room and everybody was happy. Restaurant were great no reservation needed that was great. Beautiful pools and lots of chairs for everybody. The ocean was amazing always a nice breeze and lots of chai [... read more]rs. There was a long beach and we love to walk so that was wonderful. Weather was amazing so that made a wonderful vacation again at a Riu. Thank You

Riu Merengue: Great value for the price

Stayed here January 31st-February 7th, 2017 and it was our first trip to Puerto Plata. Hotel and grounds were very nice. Beach itself was OK, but there was lots of seaweed in the water and water shoes were a must. My only real complaint was "no coffee pot in the room".

Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Great Vacation for a family!

Great location! One of my big worries on an all inclusive (other than hoping to get good weather) is "Will it be too crowded?" Our trip was Feb 5 - 12, and there was ZERO overcrowding! No trouble getting a spot around the pool or at the beach any time of day. Food was both good and bad: Breakfast - Terrific buffet! Lunch - Decent quality and variety but ONLY buffet options - would be nice to have some a la carte lunches. Dinner - All fantastic. Accommodations were very nice,  [... read more]but starting to show a little bit of age. A little to over the top with the presentation / pressure to join the vacation club.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Amazing resort

This was our first trip ever and i highly recommend it. The beach was beautiful. The resort is very clean and beautiful. Service was amazing. Food was excellent. Staff very friendly , kind and funny. Entertainment was very good. The pool area is very nice. Lovely plants. A beautiful bridge perfect for taking pictures.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Nice resort but lots of steps and walking

Food was fine, same items most nights at buffet but a la carte restaurants were good. Not a resort for anyone with mobility issues - washrooms not close to main pool, buffet not on main level. Strange layout to resort as nothing was close and everything required lots of walking and steps. Our room was clean and quiet as it was outside the main area - 10 minute walk plus 5+ flights of stairs with no option for shuttle and no way to avoid stairs. From main pool, flight of stairs and walk to [... read more] washroom, 2 flights of stairs up to main buffet or 5 flights of stairs down to snack bar. Set up a table at main pool with different types of rice every day, depending on theme. Snack bar by a secondary pool had dress code. Beach was very dirty. Staff was great - animation, bartenders and servers were all very friendly. Everything closes down at 11pm (bar closes, turn all lights off on patio) unless you want to go over to disco, which wasn't worthwhile Evening shows were inside very small, very warm disco. Not as nice as most of the Bahia Principes we have stayed at in the past.
