Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Huge but great resort

The resort was huge and far from the airport and play del Carmen. getting around was fairly painless with the amount of shuttles available but usually have to wait 10 min or more. Rooms were great but far from the beach. Service was average, food was decent. The pool was large and very cold. The beach was nice sand and made for swimming with the ugly sand bags.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Almost 5 star but overall great

Beautiful property, pretty good food, very friendly and accommodating staff. Small issues we’re addressed right away. Weather during the week was pretty bad. Strong winds, cloudy and rainy all week long but we made the best of it. Evening entertainment was the best of any other hotel we have stayed at. Done by hired groups and professionals, not the usual hotel entertainment staff that are jack of all trades. Elvis show was the worst but overall the rest were great. Wednesday nights are [... read more] the hacienda night where you must pay a small fee to go to this Mexican area that is shared by all 4 Bahia principe resorts and includes Mexican performances with a carnival/fair atmosphere. It was a blast . Everything was free once you pay your entry fee. Do not miss it.

Temptation Resort & Spa: Great resort bad flight

Hello Carol Thank you for picking the resort for me . I had a blast. But I payed for a direct flight down there... The flight so called fueled up in Halifax but the took us to Toronto to fuel up again. Took over a hour and a half to fuel up and then they ran out of food after the first 6 isles. I payed for a direct flight and it didn’t work out so I want part of my money back. I payed extra and they couldn’t perform. Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Don't Think Twice!

A very comforting and relaxing resort to unwind and be young again. The room was very safe warming and welcoming, a bathrobe and house shoes to add comfort along with a coffee machine, water, drinks in the mini fridge and a television, also a very clean washroom and comfortable shower add to the happiness of the room. No need to bring soaps, shampoos or other items, it is all there for you to unwind with at the end of the day or in the warm sunny caress of the morning start. The resort is lar [... read more]ge and never ending days of exploring, there are polite monkeys in the trees, iqunas on the ground and actually one early morning we encountered a young deer having a stroll on the property. There are many safe shuttle vehicles that will never leave you lost or astray, the resort is very safe there is no need to feel uncomfortable as the staff is very respectful and courtious and there are many security cameras to ensure your safety 24 hours a day. The grounds are exceptional and clean, a family with children will be very happy with the resort as there are children safe play areas, you won't find party animals being excessive and annoying. The food variety and quality is amazing, I gained 10 pounds while being there, seafood, steak, vegetables and fruit will make you very happy and healthy along with great selections of expresso's and coffee's and fresh juices. The bars at all clean and friendly pools are awsome the bartenders go the extra mile with quality beverages and service, Sebastion at the Seafood Pool Bar is a very professional bartender and can amaze your thirst desires, quite nice martini's. The main beach zone is wonderful and the staff at the restaurants and bars will make your day relaxing while you take time to unwind and suntan and swim in safe waters, a Fantastic way to spend an entire day, you have everything there. You won't be bored or disappointed taking this resort as your choice, I spoke with many people while being there and found none with a complaint, there is value here.

Catalonia Yucatan: Everything we expected and more!!

The resort is awesome, really enjoyed that it was located inside a gated community which allowed us free range to so many various activities without having to plan and excursion. Amazing food, great staff and the entertainment was impressive. Rooms are great quality, the only downside we experience was the maid service. We travelled with a group and their service seemed fine yet our room was only cleaned at times. We always left a tip so we knew it wasn’t because of that. Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Great for the Family

Just got back from a week at La Esmeralda with family & friends. The resort has a nice modern look but still feels like home. Rooms are very nice and kept very clean. The food was amazing, never ate at the same place twice. The beach is nice & clean and its close to a natural fresh water spring which the kids had fun playing in. My only complaint is the temperature of the pools. You shouldn't have to upgrade to family concierge to be able to enjoy the heated pool.

Riu Vallarta: Our Favourite

We have stayed at many resorts in Mexico ----over 20---- We like the Riu Vallarta a lot because of many things---probably the number one event that separates it from the other resorts is the Central Village concept that develops in the evening. The area consists of a large fountain---a fabulous square raised outdoor bar--the open air Entertainment area---access to a la carte restaurants and Huge Buffet all viewable from the 300 seat lobby bar. Grand Oasis Cancun: Really bad service

I went there to party. And i had a blast. But the hotel. Worst service ever. They promise stuff and they dont do. My minibar in my room was never refilled. Had to call everyday. The hotel is leaking water in the rooms and around the hotel. They charged me late checkout when it was supposed to be included. They threathened to call the police if i dont pay it off. Would never go back there

Moon Palace Cancun: Had a great time!!

Let's start with the beach. There was a lot of seating especially at The Grand section. The beach sand was white and very fine. The water was good, some seaweed and sea shells in the water. The weather was a bit chilly and overcast the week we were there. The beach was pretty empty and the only busy pools were the ones at the grand tgat were heated. I stayed in nizuc section but went to the grand section every other day. You have to pay about 30 dollars US to go. The activities were [... read more] plentiful and there was always something to do. Volleyball, biking, ping pong, Flowrider, etc. Staff was fairly friendly and food was pretty good. They ask about allergies but it's hard to find a staff member who knows the ingredients in a recipe. I'd be super happy if there were an ingredient card! Great time overall.

Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Very nice resort

This resort is great staff work hard and it has excellent service. Food is good and rooms are great. Only complaint is the lobby bar needs a update. The gym needs equipment that works. The lobby bar needs a change, new furniture. Nut it's definitely worth a visit.

All Ritmo Cancun Resort And Waterpark: Watch what you pay for!

All Ritmo it's a regular 3* resort so don't have high expectations! Be aware that resort it's not located on Cancun "zone hoteliere", it's on Puerto Juarez, isolated in between some local buildings, beside a local marina, in a small lagoon so yes, you have seaweed! The beach small but nice sand, plenty of shade, beach chairs, beach towels available anytime of the day. Food is relatively ok, not very diverse but homemade style, well cooked, bbq one night out of 7, seafood every dinner, juices [... read more] not the best, good cheese, plenty of local fruits - all kinds of melons, papaya. Rooms spacious, clean, bit outdated, fridge available, bottled water supplied every day but not bar in the room and safety deposit box available for extra 2usd/day. Currency accepted is usd or their peso, at their own exchange rate, not the best and even when paying usd, change is in pesos!!!! General staff ok, just doing their jobs! Customer service sucks, people at the front desk barely speaks and understand English! We still managed to enjoy the beutiful weather, and relax and take the good from everything but very disappointed at the end as on the last night "they" stole from our room two brand parfumes, and following morning when in fact we realized they were missing and we wanted to report the receptionist telling us very indiferent that there is no one available to address the issue, the management comming to work 9 o'clock. It was the morning when we were leaving 8 o'clock for the airport!!!!! I felt so frustrated, I felt like it was an organized crime, that didn't leave you any choice and I still regret that even for just 2 stupid parfumes I didn't call the police. So, I tried my best to find the best in everything around and enjoy my vacation but I would not recommend that resort to anyone!!! !!

Camino Real Zaashila: Beautiful, quiet, secluded resort

One of the most beautiful, comfortable, and peaceful resorts I've stayed at. Close to nearby towns, more than adequate snorkelling right off the (not private but) very secluded beach. Generous drinks!

Park Royal Ixtapa: Should have been told!

We recently had a two week vacation at the Park Royal in Ixtapa. We have stayed there twice before and have very much enjoyed ourselves. Staff is amazing, it is clean, food is very, very good and the facility is constantly being upgraded and improved. However, we should have been informed by our Trip Central travel agent, who has 30 plus years experience and should know the ins and outs, that the Park Royal was hosting the SOB (south of the border) volleyball tournament the second week beca [... read more]use we would NOT have booked. The resort is smallish with 238 rooms and imagine our shock when 250 loud, invasive volleyball players took over the beach (with 35 nets down the whole length of the beach), the pool, the lounge, the restaurants and everywhere. They were like locust. They failed to realize that all of us had paid to enjoy our vacation....not just them. I checked the Park Royal home page and there was nothing advertised to at least give us the choice if we wanted to book that week. And since this has been a tournament hosted for the past 18 years, our travel agent should have known that and informed us. We loved the first week at the Park Royal but were disappointed in our second week and very disappointed in Trip Central's lack of professionalism.

Las Brisas Ixtapa: Bad Hospitality

Luckily this place has location going for it otherwise it would have been the worst resort I have ever visited. Apparently here “all inclusive” means “somewhat inclusive” as many menu items and drinks were not included in the plan, in addition to rationing room amenities like coffee, water and mini beers. Only one serving per day per room, despite double occupancy. The absolute worst part though was after our check out at 11am our bands were confiscated even though our bus wasn’t arri [... read more]ving until 5pm so we were forced to either not eat or drink, leave the property (in a cab that charges more and gives back to the hotel) or pay outrageous prices for substandard product at the hotel. When we tried to contest we were treated like delinquents and brushed off. Two words sum up the experience perfectly: Bad Hospitality. In an extremely competitive market one would think the last impression the resort would want to make was accommodating.

Riu Vallarta: Beautiful hotel!

Playa Los Arcos: Two weeks in paradise

This was my wife and my third trip to PV but first time staying in the romantic zone. I have to say playa Los arcos has to be one of the nicest hotels in this area. It has location, great staff, great rooms, average food in the dining room, great pool area. Biggest plus is location. It is so close to hundreds of great restaurants on basilo badillio street and many side streets.

Sunset Plaza Beach Resort & Spa: Wonderful Resort

Well kept resort. Every room has an ocean view. The staff are very friendly and work hard to make your vacation enjoyable. The swimming pools are lovely with a great swim up bar. Mexican night is lots of fun with a buffet of Mexican food and a live mariachi band.

Camino Real Zaashila: Perfect Escape !!

We found this hotel just before booking a trip to the Mayan Riviera and were instantly intrigued by its size and overall aesthetic - and thankfully it ended up being exactly what we wanted. This hotel is small compared to most tropical resorts particularly those built nowadays which was perfect ! Our group consisted of my girlfriend and I (both under 30) and my over 75 year old father. The hotel is stunning, the buildings and grounds are beautiful and well maintained - and reminded us of the [... read more] Greek Islands - While the rooms could be considered "outdated" like in some reviews because the furniture wasn't brand new - but for us, we spent minimal time in the room anyways. The bed was extremely comfortable, the maid service was on point and our room worked perfectly for our "base camp". Because the resort is so small all the rooms are within close proximity to the ocean, pool, restaurants and bars which was lovely. The Beach is absolutely stunning and the vibe between other guests very much ensures that no one is blaring terrible music from the Bose a couple palapas downwind (Huge Positive in Our minds !) The Bar service is equally as exemplary - Premium Booze - Canned Beers that can be delivered right to your chair in a bucket of ice very easily by there wonderful staff. The restaurants are all A La Carte with the exception of the breakfast buffet (SideNote - The gentlemen who cooks the omelets, pancakes and quesadillas is a champ and should win the award for best flattop cook in the history of all inclusive hotels) The food overall is very good - but can get a little repetitive after a full week - so don't be lazy and take the $5 cab ride into La Crucecita and enjoy of the wonderful and affordable dining options that the town has to offer ! Or if not, and your lazy order room service which is also on point and available 24 hours a day to your door. While we are not lazy, we did however take advantage of some late night ice cream and cheesecake room service and some breakfast in bed that was phenomenal. The Beach is stunning, the pool is proper if pools are your thing (they are not ours) The Gym is lets say slightly outdated, but there is a bench, weights, a couple treadmills and its all functional The grounds are stunning and bursting with tonnes of birds, iguanas Staff were all very very lovely, sweet and hardworking This is NOT a party hotel Free Wifi in the Lobby and sometimes in other areas in the resort $5 Cab ride to town is a must Quick & Easy transport from the Airport to the hotel (15 minutes) Good Food - Great Alcohol Selection As noted in other reviews the hotel is a combination of All Inclusive guests (mostly Canadian) and Regular guests who seem to be largely from South America - In case you care. Overall none of our group has any major concerns and really enjoyed our stay at the Camino Real - and would definitely visit again and recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing week in absolute Mexican paradise !

Las Brisas Huatulco: A Natural Paradise

We have just returned from our 4th stay at Las Brisas and were thrilled with our experience once again. This is not your typical cookie cutter resort in that there is much more to enjoy than the beach and, of course, the weather which is consistently 30 C. in January. The food selection is excellent, whether enjoying the ample variety of the buffet or the a la carte restaurants of which there are 5 to choose from. The staff is very friendly and ready to assist you in any way they can. Rooms are  [... read more]very spacious and are equipped with all the essentials you would expect from toiletries to towels. But what makes this resort special is that you can enjoy snorkeling right off their beach. And if that's not your thing, there are tennis courts, pickelball courts, volleyball or just nature walks, at your disposal. The resort, though in the neighbourhood of 40 years of age, is constantly being updated. New paths and gardens have been created. WIFI is available throughout, even on the beach! The steepness of the grounds might be a turnoff for some who are not used to doing stairs (of which there are plenty). However, the resort is accessable to all by means of motorized carts which connect all essential areas of the grounds. There are many other reasons too numerous to mention which will bring us back to Las Brisas in the future.
