Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Incredible Resort Experience

This resort was absolutely stunning. It was seamlessly immersed in nature and blended into the mountainside very naturally offering scenic views and a relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful views and excellent staff plus great facilities made this place an amazing resort. Loved everything about it. The whole experience was awesome and top notch. Definitely going back there again.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Awesome resort!

I loved the rooms, cleanliness, swimming pool was big enough, beach was beautiful, only thing it lacked was there was no time schedule of activities throughout the resort. Live entertainment every evening at 10pm in the auditorium we're awesome. I would go back to this resort again.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Awesome Times

When we arrived at the Riu Bachata check in went smoothly ,they only give u 1 room key 2 would be great. The room was clean and comfortable with daily housekeeping .The food was good a large Buffet at scheduled times then another buffet for in between hours for I between hours .The A la Cart is crazy busy the line ups are long .The beach is beautiful with lots of shade could use a few more beach chairs there .The pool is a busy place during the day but,the grounds are Beautiful and we'll tak [... read more]en care of and the Bar service and entertainment are great I would definately recommend this place to others .

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Beach Perfect

Awesome beach walk for miles, crystal clear water. Good food clean rooms. Don't waste your time in Les Terranas although it's a nice walk along the beach from the resort. No ocean view rooms at this resort as the restaurants all face the beach. Nice resort not to big. I would go back but wouldn't pay for the Royal Golden package as an upgrade next time. a la carte should be used Rodizio interesting, French very nice. Buffet was also good.

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Good Family Fun

This resort is situated on a beautiful clean beach, with a 1 hour & 45 minute scenic beach walk. The hotel grounds were well manicured & clean. The hotel rooms were a little dated & moderately cleaned, but okay. The restaurants were okay, but Service needing improving. Buffets were very good, & service; lots of good variety. Casino is small. Water resort was fun & had everything you'd need to relax or play for the day. Pools & all bars were very good. I would rate it a 4 out of 5. Grand Bavaro Princess: Bavaro Princess All Suites, Punta Cana

The Resort was far more than I had expected! It's huge but doesn't seem that way at all. There is a shuttle train available to take you everywhere. Amazing restaurants and bars. They can't make a margarita to save their lives though! Mojitos totally made up for it! All rooms are suites, as the name implies. They are grouped in bungalows of 8 and you rarely see your neighbours or hear them for that matter. Services were great and any reasonable request was taken care of promptly. The Eco park  [... read more]is wonderful and a great place to sit quietly and enjoy the shade surrounded by the beautiful birds. The only shortcoming I found was the live entertainment in the evenings. The band was great but the shows were bad lip sync failures. It would have been nice to experience Dominican culture and song in the shows not Lion King and Grease. The staff are friendly and helpful and even those with broken English do their utmost to help any way they can. I will definitely return again....hopefully not as a single traveller next time. On that note, being a single lady, never once did I feel in the least nervous walking around the grounds on the paths at night. Security is visible but not in your face. All in all an excellent choice for my 10 days away from winter and snow.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great Resort

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this resort. It was small, therefore easy to navigate. Everything was in very close proximity. Grounds were kept clean, constantly being swept, never any garbage around. Beach had sufficient loungers. The food was very good and the selection was changed daily with very little repetition, of course except for the basic fish, chicken and beef. The a la cartes were very good, service was very efficient. The rooms had recently been painted and were kept clean by the [... read more] room service. Furniture was rather dated but OK. The evening entertainment, although not quite our taste, was very good and the groups were quite professional. There is a very nice shopping mall just outside of the resort. The drinks were quite watery so that was a disappointment. Also the beach washroom was really tiny for so many people at the beach and definitely not handicapped accessible. This should be improved. We were told that 40% of the guests were return customers. We will definitely return for another visit.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Best vacation!!!

My husband and I just spent the most relaxing and the most enjoyable vacation! The Be Live Collection Punta Cana was amazing! It started with the front desk clerk Henry, then the ladies in the spa, especially Belkie. She was so sweet and professional. The entertainment team were so fun and full of energy. They made everyone feel as though they were special. They were so amazing with people especially the shy ones. The food was fantastic. If you read bad reviews.... DON'T pay attention to them. [... read more] The room was spacious and clean. We did not want to come home! Cannot wait to go back next year! I would also like to take this opportunity to than Diana in customer service, who helped with making this happen! Thank you Trip Central!

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great experience.

The Grand Bahia Principe did not disappoint. The service was great. The food was amazing. Our room was clean. The grounds were well maintained. There were activities but you had to go find them, the activity staff didn't rally people. The beach is calm but the water is murky.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Wow Wow Wow!!

Memories Splash is amazing in every aspect. The grounds are beautiful and clean, the pools have something for young and old with swim-up bars,fun play or relax in quiet. The social club was are place to dance and make friends. A la carte dining is walk-in (no reservations needed) and no line-ups. A big bonus was the Royalton resort on the beach where most of the amenities are included,theater for shows,disco, casino and shopping.Lets not forget the water park, tried all the slides and must bring [... read more] the grand kids next time.All the staff ad a smile for young and old and spoke many languages.In the 20 years travelling to the south,this place is awesome and most of all the service for everything is the BEST i have experienced. Casa Marina Reef Resort: Good Value

Stayed at the Casa Marina Reef Resort for the second year in a row the last week of January with our 2 daughters and another couple. We requested adjacent rooms, first floor poolside when we booked through Tripcentral.ca and was accommodated. Rooms are well used but clean and functional. Resort is basically two parts, the reef side which faces the ocean on a reef shoreline and the beach side which has the beach waterfront. The restaurants and other services are shared between the two so it r [... read more]eally makes no difference which side .your room is on, the amenities are common to both. The reef side pool seemed to be more lively with poolside games and activities throughout the day. Bars were typical resort fare, busy at times, quiet at others. Pool side loungers were pretty much not available after 9:00am or so. Food selection was good and somewhat varied and we always found plenty to choose from. We liked the proximity of the resort to the other attractions in Sosua. Just a short walk to the beach vendors along the waterfront in town as well as plenty of restaurants and shops to investigate within minutes from the resort. Had dinner one night at a local restaraunt in town called Captain Baileys. Was enjoyable and had great service. Also visited a local icecream Parlour called Bon for a delicious treat. Overall, we would rate the resort is a solid 3 1/2 star. For the price we paid, we were pleased with the amenities and services. If you are looking for sun, decent food and accommodations without paying 5 star prices you won't be disappointed. Only thing we missed was the resort doesn't have a large lobby and has limited seating, so found ourselves sitting down by the two beach bars in the evening. Found the resort very quiet in the evenings until the shows started at 9:30 so would have liked to have something to do until then Room tip: Buildings 21, 22 and 23 (on the reef side) poolside rooms have sun exposure pretty much all day so if you have your lounger outside your ground floor room, you'll be looking for shade. Buildings 24, 25, 26 and 27 poolside rooms are in the shade all day, but sun is plentiful near the pools. We were in the 2400 building so had sun when we wanted to and pulled our loungers back to our patio for shade in the afternoon.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: nice clean beautiful resort. some staff need language improvement

The main problem was the language barrier. Even the people working the front desk could not speak english. I almost felt as if the workers were having problems with management and therefore the tourists suffered. Our large group are very good tippers and on numerous occasions did not receive and thank you in any language. The resort itself was veery good, food was great. We had one problem with money missing, it was left on the dresser ( not the bed) my bad.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: GREAT VACATION !!

Very nice hotel, grounds very clean and well kept, mature trees and lots of greens, food was very good and fresh everyday. Restaurant a la carte are also good, my preference would be Japaness. Pool very big and well kept. Nice beach, long walk on the beach since the beach is so so long and also to note that there was lots of beach chair for the beach area. Staff very friendly and fun... Great service when reparation was needed. TRS Cap Cana Hotel: Lovely resort, more low key

This hotel is beautiful however it is not a party place. Night life is low key as there is only one bar open til 1am. 24hr room service is a bonus. Rooms not stocked with alcohol, only pop. Food was awesome, something always available to eat. Good service in restaurants. Loved the coffee bar! and nespresso machine in room. Large gorgeous shower in room. Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: bad changed to good

Our room was horrible but after advising the Guest Services Manager that our room had a celing water leak, no a/c to speak of, unable to open the patio door because it was off track, we were given a new much better room. It's a beautiful resort, however the room's bathrooms really need to be renovated. Very pleasant staff. A lot of stairs, too many if you have walking issues.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great time

we had an excellent time at the Luxury Bahia Princpe Esmarelda. From our girl Yenny who served us at the pool our drinks she was an amazing little girl. To sexy chocolate and Pedro the dancers who were at the pool getting people upbeat about the exercises they were awesome and funny. Our room was beautiful, The maids were nice. The servers like Hulioi d Pedro and Mathies they were excellent and hardworking kids, The food was excellent. Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Satisfactory resort overall: 4 stars maximum

My husband and I had a good experience overall. Our room was comfortable, with all amenities. Personnel was kind and helpful (as long as you had working knowledge of Spanish). Food was varied. We had fantastic meals in the different restaurants. The grounds were kept clean. Lots of activities were available at no cost from dancing lessons to Spanish lessons, from catamaran to kayak and stand up paddle boards. However, some of our friends encountered problems, e.g. only lukewarm water in som [... read more]e rooms, housekeeping not organized, limited help from the front desk. There were robberies. Balcony doors were forced and different items anything from computer plugs and computers to personal items were stolen. Each room was equipped with a safe but you had to pay extra for the lock. We found the extra cost of US$4.00 per day ridiculous but necessary. . We had two concerns. The Internet would only work from the lobby, no access whatsoever from the room. The resort itself was isolated. Any town worth visiting was at least one hour away, which made outside trips very lengthy. First world problems for sure, but still inconvenient.

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Not what I expected but amazingly more!!

This hotel is simply a gem. Close to the airport, a huge, nearly un-populated beach without other resorts nearby (maybe 2 other small hotels), very safe, fantastic staff, very good food and the rooms were very modern with comfy beds. We were there for only a week but simply were impressed by almost everything. This is a well laid out hotel, with a beautiful pool and multiple styles of lounging areas near the pool. There were fantastic, enthusiastic staff that got many clients doing yoga, bache, volleyball, salsa dancing and just generally having a very fun vacation if that is what you wanted but they were never pushy. Overall I am impressed and would recommend this hotel and the Samana area to anyone looking for a trip south. I almost hesitate to give it such a good review because that typically means the price may go up next travel season. My biggest concern is the very real possibility of future development along this extensive mostly empty beach. That would change my review and it would be a shame.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Great resort

Grounds were great pool was nice but closed a little early food was good drinks were good could of used a swim up bar.the alacart restraints are all very good shows were fine wouldn't suggest taking bus into town 27 people in a mini van all in all good trip

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Pleasant surprise

Upon reading so many reviews, We left for Cofresi uncertain of what to expect and I am delighted to say that our expectations were exceeded. The resort is huge, very well kept, huge number of pools, bars, restaurants, shows, events... never a dull moment. If you don't use shuttles, be prepared to walk a lot, which we chose to do. The buffet restaurants are ok, nothing spectacular, The other restaurants pretty good, and the bars excellent. Overall great value!
