Riu Ocho Rios: Great Resort

We recently returned from Riu Ocho Rios! We had an amazing time for the most part at this hotel. The properties size(large and sprawling,) lack of ease with placement of elevators and placement of restaurants was difficult. Also food not being replenished at the buffet was at times an issue. Go early to eat or you may be disappointed! Quality of food was great just not a lot of it at certain times! If you have any physical challenges this is perhaps not the hotel for you. Results promised within 48 hrs did not always happen, some not receiving results a few hours before their flight. Service was great, people friendly and ocean was gorgeous! All in all we met some amazing people, made new friends and had a blast on this holiday!

Couples Sans Souci: Beautiful resort!

This was our second time @ CSS in the last couple of years. The grounds are very tropical, basically situated in a jungle! Groundskeepers were always maintaining them. The food at all the restaurants is 5*, and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Our room was always cleaned and tidied up in a timely manner. The staff always wore face masks due to Covid-19, but we felt very safe at all times. We hope to be back in December 2022!

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Great time away…

Resort was beautiful, well staffed and food was delicious in both the buffet and other restaurants. The resort did a good job of balancing guest safety during Covid with the freedoms of resort fun. They had on site testing which was simple to book and results were back in 24 hours for our return trip home to Canada. Activity team was fun and welcoming with lots of activities for people of all ages.

Riu Negril: Very nice

Nice resort..staff is very friendly and kind and prompt. Relaxing stay vacation. Had a good time at this resort . The food options could be better. Would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a quiet place to relax.

Excellence Oyster Bay: Best resort EVER!!!!!!

My husband and I travel at least 4 or 5 times a year to different all-inclusive resorts. The Excellence Oyster Bay EOB has now become one of our favorites and was even better than our trip to EPM. Our previous trip to the EEC in October of 2021, left us feeling like Covid had taken the shine off of travel. We were disappointed with the service received as well as supply issues. They were so friendly and accommodating of our every need. I cant say enough about how amazing everyone was. Any issues that arose were dealt with quickly and they would follow up to ensure the problem didnt reoccur. We have never felt so pampered as we did at EOB. Did they run out of things ie mint for the mojito - yes. But they would try and come up with a delicious alternative for you. When the mint came in, you would be suddenly surprised with a mojito being delivered (without asking) to let you know they had some. Everyone went above and beyond to make this trip fabulous. I cant say enough about the staff. Even the gardeners and the security would stop and chat with you and ask how your day was going. We spent our days in the Excellent Club Pool at Magna. Danielle made sure we were well taken care of as did all the staff at The Excellence Club. The bartender at Magna was superb!!!! I am so sad that I lost my note with the names of people that went above and beyond as they were truly so spectacular they deserve recognition. Mosquitoes were bad. There are mixed comments on this issue. They fog everyday and we never had an issue anywhere at the resort except when we sat outside on the deck of our room. We had a private pool with a large deck and I think the issue maybe that the mosquitoes live in the dampness under the deck. I got eaten alive and I wouldn't use the deck. Also the pool was very cold. I personally wouldn't spend the money on an upgraded room. Take the basic room and upgrade to the Excellence Club - it was worth it. We also noted the rooms are very damp and would recommend damprid (as noted in other peoples post - but we have never used this as other resorts). We loved this resort. It was our favorite of all of the Excellence All-inclusive Resorts and we will be back.

Riu Reggae: Good Place for a Party

We were to the Riu Reggae in December 2021. This is a great place to go if you want to have a fun vacation. Always lots of music, the entertainment crew is lovely and want to engage you. If you are looking for any peace, this is not the place for you. There is no escaping *constant* noise. From 10am onwards, music plays constantly at the pools and the entertainment crew is hosting games. Even constant noise in the hallways with doors slamming and voices carried in the hallways. The b [... read more]each was pretty disappointing - it is small and lots of seaweed. The only guaranteed shade on the beach is in the smoking section as it gets shade from trees and the building. The rest is covered with palm trees only so not reliable for shade. The hotel is very clean - they are constantly cleaning. COVID protocols were followed - hand sanitizer, masks, etc. The hotel tries to do a good job with it but the patrons need to respect the protocols to really make it work. The team working there is amazing. Incredibly nice and hardworking people. The food was excellent. We only went to the Italian a la carte - again, so noisy that it was hard to enjoy the atmosphere. The food at the buffet was so good that we didn't feel the need to go to the other a la cartes. If you want activity and vibrancy, I think you would enjoy this. If you want to escape noise and have some peace, this is not the place for you.

Couples Sans Souci: Wonderful, peaceful resort

Beautiful resort. This is the second time we have been here. We have been to quite a few all-inclusive resorts over the years, and this is the only one we have chosen to return to. Excellent and friendly service and beautiful grounds. We stayed in a beach front room which are the most up to date (A and B block). Beach is small but no difficulty getting lounge chairs in sun or shade. No beach vendors to contend with. Three very nice pools and two hot tubs on the grounds. Their NO TIPPING policy i [... read more]s a huge reason we love this resort - it is truly all inclusive with no need to carry around American money and no favouritism among the staff. It felt very safe during COVID - the staff all wears masks and the guests all wear masks inside any buildings/restaurants. Hands are sanitized and a glove provided at buffets. A lot of the staff are vaccinated. COVID PCR tests provided free of charge on the resort as required to return to Canada. All very well organized.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Fantastic Resort

A beautiful resort with impeccable grounds. Excellent food options even during COVID. A la carte selections reduced due to lower bookings but still offering the quantity of reservations available according to booking. Great staff always available to entertain, take care of your wishes and assist to make your stay amazing. Rooms are large and mini bar stocked daily with additional on request. We stayed in the Luxury side and it was well worth the upgrade. On site Covid-19 testing was availab [... read more]le at 75 US$ pp. Many beach areas for a quiet beach day. Lots of great entertainment options every day. Washrooms; restaurants, grounds and rooms all well maintained and clean. Plus it was so nice to be at a resort with a policy to ban the holding of sun loungers by placing towels on to “save” … we never went for searching for an available lounger. I highly recommend this resort as a 4.5 star at 4 star price,

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Exceptional holiday

Our holiday started off amazing with private check in and introduction to one of our two butlers Shawn then Ardley . I have never met two more respectful and professional gentlemen . Our rooms were clean and were kept clean everyday moving forward . We visited for my daughters birthday so both Ardley and Shawn ensured it was a special celebration . All our dinners were booked by the butlers and if we wanted certain lunches they were brought right to us wherever we were . The private diamond [... read more] beach has comfy chairs but we mostly stayed entertained at the adult pool and were treated like queens by Vinessa , Marvin,Sean and Gabriel bringing us drinks and maxwell , Anthony and Romaine making excellent cocktails . Our friendly friend Tatianna at the towel centre made of day with her genuine friendly smile and stories . On our first morning we went to the Taj for breakfast and were looking so forward to ackee and salt fish but it was not available so we just went with something else but we were pleasantly brought our choice breakfast ackee by Karma , this started our holiday with such a warm welcoming jester . We went to all restaurants so our favourite was Calypso and least Italian . Our last night we received a special gift from Ardley with him singing and playing the guitar for us … such a beautiful ending . COVID protocols all in place with temperature checks and sanitizing of all prior to entering food areas , made us feel at ease . COVID test done without problems but had to search out our results just prior to boarding bus back to airport, this created a bit of stress which in end did not allow us to properly say our goodbyes to all that made our holidays so memorable and perfect . I am actually booked to go to different country first week of Jan but wanted to change and come right back to the Royalton white sands . I should of did change while still there when it was available because on my return I tried snd now hotel is fully booked . I have decided to wait till available to return until then I have cancel other trip . Want to return to bring some special gifts for so many amazing staff . Need to note never did we feel unsafe or annoyed for sakes or tipping . We did tip and it was so appreciated but never expected which was so refreshing . I have been coming to Jamaica for over 20 years and stayed in many resorts and I have to say this was the best one to date now !!! Good, drinks, staff , grounds and rooms exceptional . Jewel Paradise Cove: Great Time

We were very impressed- resort is immaculately groomed on grounds - the employees are sooo great - everyone friendly and helpful . They make your stay amazing. Food was great - beach is smaller but very calm so if any balance issues your not fighting waves even on a rough red flag day . Bring a bit of bread into water and you will be surrounded by beautiful fish . Rooms were clean and up to date . Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Great resort

The beach is awesome and the grounds very well kept and neat and clean always . The food was delicious for every meal and the selection and variety was endless . Best of all was the courteous and amazingly friendly staff !

Couples Sans Souci: 5th Time visiting our friends here - and won't be the last!

This was our first trip back to Jamaica since Covid has altered our lives, and Couples didn't disappoint. Enhanced cleaning protocols were in place, staff were well prepared, and for the first time in months, life almost felt normal. Food quality was amazing, and the lineups at the buffet actually moved quicker with staff serving than they have in the past when it was "help yourself". In general, the hotel and staff were amazing. If you are looking for a bit of normal in your life again, please don't hesitate to visit.

Riu Reggae: Beautiful resort

Very clean and all the members in staff are very friendly. Food was amazing and pools were so clean. I was celebrating my birthday with my friends we had great time. Thank you for your service and keeping the place super clean ❤️❤️

Ocean Eden Bay: Great Vacation

Beautiful Resort, the grounds are clean, and well maintained. Our room in building 3, room 3303 was nice, great view, very clean! The beach was good, the water was so warm! There were some rocks, but could be easily avoided! And lastly, the staff at this resort are wonderful, the lobby bar was where we would end our day. we were well taken care of from Jason, and Tania! The pool bar was really great also, thanks to Sharlette.

Riu Palace Jamaica: Great resort

Food was exceptional, breakfast, lunch and dinner at the buffet are excellent, presentation and taste was top notch. Smaller restaurants were also very good. The best thing about this resort is definitely friendly and super efficient staff, at the Aqua bar Renaldo, Winston and Gregory and bartender Ren were amazing. At the buffet our server Audley was so attentive and always , and pleasant to talk to. Lots of hand sanitizers all around and clean surroundings everywhere. Beach was clean however would need some improvement.

Riu Montego Bay: The Grand Dilema

Posting a review about the RIU Montego Bay resort for me seems to swing to both sides of the table. To explain the review I will review each part seperately. Arrival and check in: After a small hiccup of being directed to the wrong counter by a hotel check in staff member, the experience went well. Friendly, informative and quick. Waited almost three hours for the bellman to bring mybags to the room, and eventually got them ourselves, as I wanted to change and head to the beach or pool. R [... read more]oom: The room was ok. Small but clean. They seem to ha e a shortage of towels a d floor mats as I only had the full compliment on arrival. Each subsequent, after the room was serviced I had to ask for the towels which had either been forgotten or were not available. The bathroom floor mat/towel for exiting the shower was only avail on the first day. Was never available after that. The "fully" stocked mini bar was one bottle of dark rum, and one bottle of vodka(Not a recognized brand), Coca-Cola, sprite and water. Small easy to use safe I the room to keep valuables. Room.was generally good... towel issue not a major thing at all. Food / dining: The attempt at fine dining at the Asian and Italian, and Steakhouse needs work. The food quality at the buffet was actually better. Made three attempts to eat the steak in different restaurants at the resort. The advertised rib eye is not actually rib eye, but some not very well cooked mystery part of the cow. The breakfast options were good. Mix or local and American style food. The staff at dining rooms were great. Very friendly very help full. The jerk at the buffet was slightly better tasting than the jerk on the beach setup. Pool: The pool areas are all great. The pools are clean and tested multiple times daily. Lots of space at the 5 pools. Beach: Doing this separately from the pool as it was my only area of dissapointment. I did not know this before, but the hotel is built on reclaimed swampland and the beach photos are a bit misleading. The first 4ft or so when entering the water is white sand and clear water, but after that, the floor is all silly mud, dark grey in color which your feet will sink into about 2-3 inches when you stand. Not a great feeling at all. Going swimming was the reason I went on this trip but only did that at the beach on the first day. Only swam in the pool after that. Or stuck to the first 4 feet of entry to the water which was only 2ft deep. I'm probably not he only one who noticed this, because of the hundreds of people on the beach, I only ever saw about 10 people in the water. Bar: The bar has a set menu which does not co soft of any premium alcohol, but the pina coladas were amazing with the dark rum. I asked if the had Prosecco once and was told yes.. then watched him mix regular white wine with club soda. Hotel: Recently renovated, the decor is much better than that of what I had a glimpse of the RIU Reggae. Covid 19: Masks required for any service including the bar etc. Sanitizer is everywhere. Return...? Hard to say... I was content at the pool but being an islander myself, a d wanting the beach for swimming, I probably would not go back, although everything g else was ok... everything is not perfect, but does not really.need to be. Difficult to say I won't return due to the muddy beach when the staff was so great. If the beach swimming is not important to you, then I highly recommend this resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Amazing staff

This resort was beautiful and the staff were amazing! all in all such a pleasant vibe. Even though the resort was full of old people and mostly couple, The younger staff made it fun filled. I wanted to give a special shout-out to some of my favourites JEVAUGHN, DERMAN, JADE, ALEX, Dj LUIGI, LADY T, Dj POPSTAR, LEMARK, MJ (Michael) these guys need more recognition and of course the dining staff and staff from ala cart! The resort is so beautiful, they work hard at their jobs to keep it clean . Hi to Geovoni and Montique , they keep the pool looking amazing. The staff is the best, they work hard to make you happy. Secrets St James: Great Beach

The hotel was very nice. Food was good as well, lots of choices and well prepared. Was slightly understaffed for room service and housekeeping services - in my opinion. Also has a vacation club they really ant you to take in the presentation and they offer you a meal... really it's a meal already included in your "All Inclusive" and I personally don't like that push. I would still return for the weather, atmosphere and the relaxation.

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Very disappointed

The resort was very clean and we saw constant cleaning and sanitizing going on during our visit. Room were clean and comfortable and most staff were very accommodating. Unfortunately that's where it ends. The food was terrible (dried out meats and fish), not much choice of vegetables and at breakfast, alot of the time there was no bacon and if you wanted an omelet, hardly any mushrooms onions etc were available. That resort was closed down! Don't waste your money.
