Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great resort! Would visit again!

Nice resort! Good food and nice clean rooms. Great pool! Nice beach! Friendly staff overall, Selection at the 24hr snack bar was hit or miss but a good option when feeling snacky later at night! Specialty restaurants had great food especially the Japanese restaurant. Lobby was nice in the evenings to enjoy a drink and people watch. Would definitely stay here again!

Iberostar Coral Holguin: An excellent holiday resort for the price!

The Coral level was quiet and private but the main grounds provided busyness if you wanted. The staff were efficient, professional, friendly and eager to please.. The food at both levels was good. The room was outstanding! Very clean and spacious. I would recommend the Coral level and would return to this hotel.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Disappointing

This hotel is definitely not a 5 star but a two star at best. Needs many repairs and definitely a paint job. Rooms are old and tired looking. Both drawers on the night strand would fall out, only one track. Also dresser had two drawers that wouldn’t close. Maid service was always missing an article ex. Towels, water in fridge, toilet paper 4 out of 7 days. Path to rooms was in darkness, we had to use cell phone flashlight as many other guest were doing. They do not replace the bulbs. On  [... read more]arrival no one to help with luggage. My husband had to try to carry them up a large flight of stairs. Many rest rooms are locked on the property and no elevators were running. Only two restaurants were operational and the buffet. Gets pretty boring and many items unavailable on the a la carte menu. Only rosee wine offered. One day and night no water so you could not flush toilet. Also no air conditioning following morning. Perspiration pouring off of us. Food was very Mediocre No bread for hamburgers one day. Only positive the beach was absolutely beautiful and staff pretty friendly. Not up to Iberostar standards at all.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: It was okay

I’ve been to Cuba one to many times. The thing that was disappointing was always getting booted off of their wifi. The hotel itself says free wifi around the resort, but it kicks you out very often. The atmosphere was great and the staff were too. The other thing that was misleading was there was no 24 hour bar or food service. That was kind of disappointing. The food.. well the food was okay, I stuck to pasta and burgers all week.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Good Resort a

This is just a a newly opened hotel last December 2021 so i give some consideration Overall it was a good stay for us except a bit of issues. Staff are friendly and so is the management They tried their best to entertain guests. Rooms are big and the beach is not busy

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Good overall but, lots of differences post Covid

This was our third time at the Iberostar Ensenachos. Overall, we enjoyed our week, as the beach here is absolutely world class. There’s truly no other beach like this. That being said, we noticed significant changes in the hotel’s operations that were not favorable. As an example, they put a family of four in a room with one king bed and did not show up with extra beds until the evening! This was despite several requests being made to the front desk. We also did not get pool towels until day [... read more] four. They were available however, they had trouble organizing the delivery to our room and refused to hand them to us. The rooms are tired and they don’t change your towels even when placed on the floor or tub. There is a lack of toilet paper. You have to ask the maid for it. The food got progressively better during the week as shipments arrived. There were some things that were challenging for children however, such as no french fries, chicken nuggets or hamburgers. These items were not regularly available and often eaten quickly and not replenished. So, having a large group of children… It was a bit of a challenge. We also noticed the dessert and fruit areas were minimal. The bar is excellent, as is service there. There are no beverages in your room and an irregular water delivery service. The entertainment staff and shows were phenomenal! There is a noticeable lack of management on site. And, when we asked to speak to management we were told we could not speak to them. The hotel is struggling and the Cuban people are as well. Staff are trying however, it is clear that they are unhappy. It’s a difficult situation they’re in and I can appreciate that. Overall, we had a good trip and enjoyed ourselves but, I’d be a bit hesitant to return. It’s not a five star by any means.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great staff, old building

My experience at this hotel was not as good as anticipated. The hotel grounds were decent, and staff were very kind but our room was extremely old and mucky. There were stains on the sheets, towels, rags, headboard, side tables, and when bringing this issue to the front desk, nothing was done. I presume most rooms look like this and the rooms are simply old and need renovations. Definitely a big surprise for an Iberostar chain hotel. Also, 90% of the staff I interacted with barely spoke any English and it was difficult to make simple requests. I would not return nor recommend.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Can be better for 5 stars

We did an Ocean view and our room only got the tip of the ocean from our balcony view. Maybe request a room where your view is not being blocked by the buildings. Disco is currently closed for reno. The japense A la Carte is amazing. The Romentica (seafood) was alright but only had fish and civiche for seafood options. Lunch, dinner & breakfast is the same items everyday. Bar near snack bar is 24hrs but no frozen drinks there. Snack bar serves pizza, fries, hotdogs & tuna sandwhiches. Our maids  [... read more]were amazing. They have courtesy rooms for you to shower if your a late flight as check out is 12pm. However you need to request them. Late checkout to keep your rplm is $10 per hour cash or $11 hour credit card. There is a $30US deposit on your credit card per beach towel. Once you return it there will be no charge its just a hold. Internet user id they give you expires every 24hrs. So you need to go to the room across from the gift shop to have it renewed. Lunch does not start until 1pm. Dinner starts at 6:30pm. We had some indviduals whom worked there that treated us very kind. However locals are allowed on the resort now, & once you speak Spanish you will be taken care of first. Be prepared on the beach to be harrased by many locals to buy items or trade items. There is a quiet pool area. & 1 swim up bar. Ice cream hut was closed. No big wars to get beach chairs tons available. Not many shaded though. The wait to book your a la carte is about 1hr long. Look for Alex one of the entertainers to change $ with. He gives a faie rate versus the resort or toue guides. He also has links on taxis $25 CAD or US for a fancy car. $20 for a basic. Also shower heads in many rooms are not attached to wall heads up.

Hotel Bella Costa: Interior sucks and Exterior is good

Resort was amazing however rooms, elevators, food and washroom vanity and water facility in rooms where either broken or not working. Resort did not even have enough towels due to which we were asked to use same towel for 4 days. View and pool amenities in resort are awesome. Beach access is good and beach is clean

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Covid Measures

Masks were almost never seen being worn by staff or guests. Sanitizer dispensers at several locations... not sure if they were empty or contained any sanitizer liquid. No apparent social distancing. No other covid precaution measures visible.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: No meat at all in buffet

i’ve been to Cuba 22 times I know what the foods like I go anyway you can find something to eat you won’t starve in Cuba but this time there was no meat in the Buffet we ate at the snack bar every day wieners and mystery meat burgers disgusting so disappointed this time around I guess you can blame it on Covid or the down season but won’t be staying there again. Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Beautiful resort

It a nice resort and friendly staff but activists for younger crowed are not much.Dancing club could be better and more pool area could be added. Food was good and drinks were good too.Rooms was nice but I didn’t like the shower missing curtain so every time you take shower water comes out on floor. Balcony are was nice, other than that it was good.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Great location, resort was very nice, beach was amazing! Food not so much.

The location is great! The beach is absolutely stunning and has great snorkeling right off of the beach. IMO no need to even go to Pilar beach next door as it's the same beach quality. Diane at the swim up bar and Yenia at customer service were super nice and very helpful. I would recommend going here but my only complaint is the food. I'm not sure you can fault the resort itself as I know supplies are hard to get in Cuba and food is not ever a highpoint in any Cuba resort review. A la carte res [... read more]taurants were average. The buffet was lacking in variety. We had omelettes for breakfast daily which were the best choice in my opinion. However lunch and dinner were scarce for options except for the last few days we were there they were grilling chicken at the snack bar for lunch and that was good. Snack bar only had ham and cheese sandwiches / french fries as their only options the whole week we were there. Overall if you're willing to skimp on the food options and choices the resort and beach are extremely worth the visit.

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Great resort

The resort is beautiful, we enjoyed much the beach, the Iberostar team were amazing and we love the entertainment every night. The food is okay but more variety will be appreciated. We will surely like to come back again with family and friends!

Iberostar Coral Holguin: COULDN'T RECOMMEND MORE!

Where do I start... there are soooo many good things to say. The staff was incredible, specifically our bartender sergi at the beach bar and Alexander at the coral level bar. Our butler Laritzia, and the Yarian! The concergie (we forget her name) was also incredible. Everyday she increased our wifi usage without us asking. All the staff went above and beyond for us. A couple days later we go back and he has a WHOLE BOX of fresh limes! He went to the market on his day off to buy them so he could make me my drink. Unbelievable! Alexander was someone we talked to almost everyday, we got to know him really well and he was such a kind soul. His drinks were excellent but his service was even better. Our two butlers Laritzia and Yarian were the sweetest people we could have asked for. Upon check in they provide you with a welcome tray of meats and cheese, I mentioned to Laritiza I love charcuterie back in Canada and she brought me a cheese and meat tray everyday just because! They were both so detail orientated and really took note of the small things. The food was delicious at the coral level, I had lobster for dinner everyday and my boyfriend had the three meat option (chicken, beef, pork). We would much prefer to eat on the coral side as we found it was better than almost every al a carte and beat the buffet by a landslide, it truly was five star dining. They have a snack bar open 24/7 for burgers, pizza, fries etc. The snack bar food was great for a late night bite after dinner was over. Breakfast was your choice of eggs, French toast, pancakes, fruit etc. Lunch always had a wide variety... something for everyone for sure! I have IBS so I was very nervous about the food selection prior to booking, but as I mentioned I was beyond satisfied and was not sick once. We traveled during low season and couldn't recommend it more, there were about 20 other people on the adult side which made for a quiet and relaxing stay. Our room walked out onto a patio with a cabana which was excellent... no fighting over pool chairs! The room was spotless everyday and the maids were very thoughtful. The beach was also beautiful, you have two options of beaches so we would recommend trying out both! We will be back next summer!!

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Memorable trip to Cuba

Our stay at Iberostar Selection Varadero was a reminder of all the reasons we have come to love Cuba. The beach, the sand, the hot sun and the warmth of it's people. This hotel is well appointed with interesting places to sit in quiet corners, or be immersed in music and people-watch. The food was great and the a la cartes were exceptionally good. If it were not for the masks worn on the plain, we would not have known Covid existed. Speaking of which, OWG (Off We Go) flight was outstanding. Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Looks nice on pictures

Nice: beach and seawater Main restaurant: Serious health issues handling food. Small in size for number of guests. Shortage of food and western drinks (no Gin/Tonic, Black Russian, Mojito available). Overcrowded beach, not enough beach chairs. cannot find chair after 7:30am Snack bar - missed orders multiple times, unfriendly senior worker. Lobby bar - service is good (mostly Cuban and Russian spirits) Beach and pool bar - service is good. Pool - OK Shows - average (Rock, Cuban, [... read more] M. Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Huge resort

I will start with the positives. The food was amazing. A great variety every day. The a la carte's were also extremely good. The staff was friendly and helpful. When we checked in I asked for a room near an elevator because I am handicapped. I should have asked for a room near the restaurant's and beach and pool. The original room we were in was close to an elevator but 45 minutes from the restaurants. I;m sure for a healthy person it would not have taken as long. My husband went to the front desk and asked for us to be moved but they could not accommodate us. Next morning the Sun wing Representative called for a meet a greet and I explained my concerns. He made sure that by 2:00 pm we had been moved to a room on the ground floor near all the amenities. I will be forever grateful to him for his kindness. The hotel is not conducive for any one with a handicap. It is a much too large a resort. The rooms were beautiful. Well kept and very clean. Hat's off to the cleaning staff. Also, the reason that I booked this hotel was because it had room service. Unfortunately they discontinued this a few months ago. So false advertising. I would recommend this hotel to people with no disabilities.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Amazing staff, very clean resort - Poor drinks and food

The hotel its self was beautiful, ground were fantastic, well kept very clean and all the staff were amazing. Tony at the Mexican, and the beach bar guy - sorry forgot his name was very friendly. i have to say i have been to many places in my time and the food was not up to par here, nothing on a grill and very watered down drinks - however this may be because at the weekend fri - sun the local Dominicans do overtake the whole resort and the food options completely change and the drinks are very [... read more] watered down. i know it is very overwhelming for the staff as we did speak to a few of them. beautiful place, but i would not go back - i can go to Mexico, Punta Cana or Jamaica for the same price, with 100% better food and drinks. They did have no bottles water as they say they have a filter system station, believe me its not filtered properly - we travelled with friends and we are all still sick from this as we did drink lots of water.
