Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Great experience for family vacation

It was our first experience of all inclusive vacation and we absolutely enjoyed it! Starting from the beginning - travel agent answered on all our questions very detailed and promptly. Upon arrival we were taken care of by the local agent and were brought to the hotel. Same on the way back - very good coordination and organization. We were traveling with our daughter of 10 years old, got a room with three beds, where we just moved two beds together, so there you go: king size bed)) Room is ni [... read more]ce and clean, we had a girl who cleaned it daily. Now... we did leave her tips (nut bar from Costco and stuff like toothbrush, stick deodorant, little shampoo from Dollarama... pretty cheap for us) - room was perfectly clean! She even organized our shoes... In general - stuff is very friendly, not bugging you unless you look at them, so they know you need something. Also, we did leave tips to our favourite waitress and waiters, they were really nice. Food is really good. Please do not expect pizza to be good there or burgers to be served! It's Cuba..... they are not used to this food, they only make it to satisfy Canadian customers))). Rice is amazing! Try it! The guy making rice with pork and chicken on open fire is amazing. His food was sooo good. Fruits, veggies, salad, meat - everything was awesome. Minus for someone maybe - no orange juice in the way we are used here in Canada..., but there is a lot of freshly done pineapple juice. We loved it. Coffee in the lobby is awesome! Beach and ocean is super good - white sand, warm water. It's a dream)) It's tricky a bit to change beach towels, because the guy who issues them doesn't seem to be on his place every day, but was only a challenge for us on the first day, when we left our towels on the beach. Then we just kept them overnight until the next day and just exchange it on our way to the beach, when someone was there. To all fairness - i think out of our 7 days there, we saw towel guy 5 times... Will agree with some of the reviews: limited supply, like bar on the beach might not have pina colada for you, but it will be available at another bar besides the pool))) When you go, pack a big thermos mug))), It can be filled with good stuff at any bar lol))) Overall, great experience, will definitely go again and will recommend to friends.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Nice resort but NO drinking water!!! Also not a resort for young people!

The resort and beach were beautiful! The ocean water was crystal clear and the beach had beautiful white sand. The beach was a small, only sharing the waterfront with one other resort which was nice if you are looking for a quieter relaxing vacation. If you are a young person however this might not be the place for you. The resort had mostly older folks and there was practically no nightlife. I went with a large group of girls so we still had a great time, however it was definitely an older  [... read more]crowd at this resort. This resort only gave you ONE bottle of water per room (that had to be shared between two people) for the ENTIRE DAY! And sometimes you wouldn't get your new bottle for the day until 4-6pm depending on when they came around to the rooms. If you wanted another bottle it was IMPOSSIBLE to get it. I would go to customer service to ask for water AND would even call the front desk to request water, they would say they are sending a bottle but it would never come.To say I was dehydrated is an understatement. You are not supposed to drink un-bottled water in Cuba, so knowing this the resort should provide access to water bottles for guests!

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Beautiful resort

Really nice room and bathroom,dining room was great meal was not always great. Swimming pool was awesome. It was far from the airport two hours on the bus. The ocean was amazing. It’s a big resort, we walk a lots . The personals was very nice. The foodmenu of the excursion wasn’t exactly the same. It was disappointing salmon instead of lobster.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Good resort.

The beach at this resort is excellent. Great swimming and beach walking. The grounds are clean. The staff is friendly. The food was good for Cuba. The rooms are basic and the cleaners do a good job. Good value for a reasonable price.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort.

This hotel was very nice. It was clean for the most part, and the staff was very nice and friendly. Had a lot of fun. Good for families. However, getting bottled water was an issue. The staff were not very willing to give water, only got one 1L bottle of water for two people to share. When asking for another bottle, they would say they dont have one, or in the buffet they would fill an already used bottle of water with their tap water and try to serve it to us with a different cap on, or we woul [... read more]d notice it was alredy opened. Valentin Perla Blanca: Valentin Perla Blanca

The hotel does not merit more than a 3 1/2 star. The grounds are not well maintained- broken glass, lack of visibility at night from insufficient lighting throughout complex walkways. Our room was clean and Alberto kept it very clean. Beach towel service was only available once a week to have it changed. Food is mediocre given the embargo and sanctions that are upon Cuba- lack of variety , items not available . Hygiene products were lacking in the bathrooms throughout the complex. Staff wer [... read more]e very pleasant. Although if you wanted to have your bath towels or water replaced daily in your room you required to have a daily tip for the housekeeper. A lot of expected tipping throughout the complex for services that were to be considered all inclusive. The beach is magnificent

Valentin Perla Blanca: Had a wonderful time!

the beach was absolutely beautiful and the service remarkable. night entertainment was always fun and different and there was always something going on in the lobby. the only thing that didn’t make this trip perfect was the quality of food, however i never expect too much from resort food.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Amazing winter getaway!

This resort is fantastic! Food was good, beaches are incredible. The coral reefs are beautiful and great for snorkelling. All of the staff were friendly. We met multiple couples who had been there several times so its always a good sign when people return year after year!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Dont beleive negative reviews

Beautiful beach, friendly staff, well kept grounds and very clean rooms. Pools were fantastic with lots of loungers for all! French and Italuan a la carte were fantastic and there was always something on the buffet for even finicky eaters.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Wonderful Resort

Our expectations were low going to Cuba but we were very surprised, this hotel exceeded our expectations. The grounds, the pool, the people and the incredible beach. I would definitely return and recommend to others. The food was a hit or miss but we knew this going to Cuba, unfortunately it’s not there fault and they try with what is available.

The hotel and grounds were lovely. The beach is absolutely beautiful, staff unbelievably friendly. One thing is the room reservations were messed up. My daughter, husband and 2 children were given a room with one bed!!! After 2 days the hotel did nothing. My husband and I had two beds so we switched rooms with them and borrowed a cot from a cousin’s room. Very BAD service by hotel desk and Air Transat.

So I had a rough time with the A.C. from the very night we arrived the a.c. would work fine until around 10:00 p.m. Then it would start with a very loud noise that would go on sporadically during the night and wake us several times. I went to the main desk 3 days in a row. The maintenance persons would come but communication was a problem because of them not knowing any English. Of course the noise would not occur during the day. The staff were all excellent and very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and the food was great. The only other issue was that we could have used some place to eat breakfast on the morning of our departure, as our bus was picking us up to return to the airport at 7:00 and realised we could not buy anything to eat until we were on the plane. With 5 flights leaving to go to Canada within half an hour the line up was long and we stood for 2 hours in line to check our bags and go through the necessary process to leave Cuba.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Quiet & Relaxing Resort

A beautiful small resort that for the most part met our expectations. If you are looking for a small, quiet, relaxing vacation, this is the place! The beaches and pools were excellent and we never had an issue getting loungers at either one. The food was above average for Cuba, and you could always find something to satisfy your needs. The only complaints I had were the bottled water was not always rep [... read more]lenished in the room fridge daily, and it was nearly impossible to get a clean beach towel no matter what time of day you went. This seems odd as the resort was not full (100-150 people) so there should have been lots of towels available. Would definitely go back.

Starfish Tropical Cayo Santa Maria: Horrible experience

It was a awful horrible experience From sand flea bites to the over salted food the only good part was the drinks the bartenders were awesome no problem there room was not acceptable Dirty bad mold not Worth going

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: So great!

Such a beautiful property. From the grounds to the beach. The beach is UNREAL! The service was AMAZING! Our butler Jazier was the most friendly, amazing person ever! Because it is Cuba , they run out of things here and there but no big deal, we just found something else. The beach grill was SO good! Thank you to everyone at the Royalton for making our vacation so memorable!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Great resort

Had a couple issues with rooms at the beginning, but they were very accomidating in getting it worked out. Food was actually really good compared to my last stay in Cuba. Best beach I've ever been to.

We enjoyed our stay at Valentin Perla Blanca, the beaches are beyond beautiful! The resort was larger than we anticipated but we didn’t mind the walking. The snack bars were amazing!! They had great burgers, mini pizzas and ham and cheese sandwiches. The buffet wasn’t very big so we mostly ate at the snack bar for breakfast and dinners when we didn’t have a la carte. Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Heavenly Beach

Our first time in Cuba, and first all inclusive. Resort was beautiful, clean, and had amazing friendly staff for the most part. GreT pools, beach. Could use a few more chairs at the beach. Avoid a la carte restaurants. These were a big disappointment. At the buffet stick to hot food stations where they cook it while you wait. These were much better than the main buffet selections. Loved Mikes coffee shop. Enjoyed cappuccino 24/7.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Great relaxing resort...but...

The place is very well kept, the beaches are beautiful especially the private beach. Pool was beautiful and lawn chairs always available. The staff are amazing and service is great. Coffee and drinks were very satisfying. The oceanview room was just perfect. I really loved this place, so dont take my negatives to seriously. If they worked on these small issues it would have been perfect. The negatives: No french fries and bacon that doesn't taste like bacon available 2 days during our week [... read more] stay. Difficult trying to get fresh beach towels, they are always out. Never saw shrimp or lobster at the buffet and the food got worse as the week went on. The snack bar, stick to the pizza, everything else was very basic and small servings. The a la cart restaurants not what I was expecting. Stick to the buffet. Remember...this is Cuba. You dont go here for the food. You go here for the beaches and amazing service.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Great resort!

The beach is phenomenal, food was really good, and the weather was amazing! We had a small leak from our air conditioning and the maid had it fixed before we even had the chance to report it. Amazing!
