Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Amazing location but ......

Hotel looks old and require maintenance in many areas. We instructed to get two rooms side by side on same floor due to 24 hour observation required for our children. But we were given rooms on separate floors. Had to check out at 11 to ensure we get rooms side by side on next day and could not get replacement until around 4 pm. Pretty well lost whole day without sleep because of safety of our children. No choices were available for vegetarians. Morning, afternoon and evenings were same old s [... read more]tuff: Broccoli and cauliflower boiled in water. Celery and carrots boiled. Or Cactus that we never ate in our life. It was boring to see the same choices over and over again. In-spite of complain they did not change anything. Even stuff that was labeled as vegetarian like: corn soup will have chicken or pork in it. Pizzas were lousy. Bathrooms on first day needed power wash. I would have almost vomited - looking at the bath tub. While changing rooms, we left some stuff in old rooms and they could not locate them. Telephone repair took more than 7 days. Overall 1 to 2 star and never will book at this place again.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: has checked every single box!

where to start? Easy van ride to the property. about ten miles N of Cancun. Not on the more populated strip. this is the only one in this area, some new construction a bit South of the resort. Palladium about 2miles south. This is fairly new. contemporary designs, no corny bamboo chairs or heavy furniture. room clean, beautiful hardwood floors. double sinks, huge walk in shower with frosted doors. separate door into toilet. excellent service for towels, always lots, and turndown service wi [... read more]th all laundry replaced again. Landscaping and flora beautiful! at every turn there is something beautiful to see. frig stocked , didn't have to phone about anything. TV... HBO, CNN FOX etc. but the facility has an amazing outdoor theatre, partially enclosed though, full bar service and once again comfortable contemporary furnishings and seating. Looks out over the ocean . premium drinks in ALL areas, incl the beach service. If you want Bacardi Anejo Rum, just ask, they are too happy to use it, its all there. corridors and bathrooms spotless. elevators and ramps, we saw a lot of people in w/c about. boardwalk to the beach, about 80meters from the main pool area and showers that work at the beach exits. POOLS kept pristine, we saw them cleaning every night. Restaurants, beautiful decors, lots of salad bar options at them. don't need to make reservations or deal with silly meal tickets, just get dressed up and go to the one you want. Wines, re choices, the white sauvignon was nice, some of the wines can taste vinegary and not rich, no problem here, often they just left the bottle on the table. also, there are no offers for "other wines or "lobster, extra charge", I have never enjoyed so many huge and delicious shrimp options. The buffet is Huge, everything regularly replaced, they are very proud of their food prep. they leave your coffeepot on your breakfast table, no searching for someone to get your Café con Leche! You can get coffee at bfast, or stop by the Capuchino Lounge on your way past to get a special coffee to take to bfast. There are so many beautiful venues to sit, take pics, eat, swim, sun, I can go on and on here. The grounds are stunning, the beachfront is dotted with Palm trees which give just the right shade for laying or playing there. LOTS of beach chairs, and they are comfortable. BEACH! sand sand sand, you can beachwalk wellover 2 hrs in either direction.even and maintained, groomed and levelled daily, but there wasn't much seaweed. Its kind of little branchy stuff. the water and surf are great to jump and play, so many families enjoying same. Lots of people would migrate to the main lounge after dinner... floor to ceiling windows all across with continuous view of the ocean... again premium drinks with amazing service and beautiful chairs and patio type tables at which to sit. No bad views, the gardens are gorgeous, we were on the wing facing south, and got sunrise and sunset EVERY Day , so gorgeous. They are low level buildings, 4 stories, we were on second floor, swimouts below, and they are a fairly great size in themselves. I think five hundred dollars more.. There is a lot of glass, from the lobby into the huge front courtyard facing the beach there a huge sliding glass doors, never far away from an effortless stroll, don't even have to open the doors. Eating grills at each end of the facility, Food starts here late morning till 4pm, grill chicken pork, beef French fries (OMG AMAZING) veggies, burgers and hot dogs, and all the fixings, again, staffed by 3 cooks and constantly refreshing the food. lots of bathrooms (cleaning lady permanently stationed there and cleaning these areas constantly. there are no gross smells or spills. No garbage laying around here... staff always picking up plates, etc. PoOLS

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Royalton Suites

Luxury hotel that just opened this past year. Rooms are beautiful with views on either side of the ocean or the inter coastal. We enjoyed the service and the a la carte restaurants although the waiters were not always friendly. Food prep at the buffet might be a little suspect with the way the meat was sitting out beside the grill and the blender was rinsed between smoothies. Not sure what it was but so far 3 of our party have come down with the flu since returning a few days ago. Could be a bad [... read more] time of year for the flu too but everyone in our group of 10 kept saying the food was making them feel off while we were there. Not sure I’d go back for that reason. Also found the pool a little small for the number of guests. There are two diamond guest pools as well which make you feel second class cause you can’t use them. Although the roof pool was closed half the time for private parties and maintenance so the diamond guests weren’t too happy either. No one was even in the kiddie pool, they were all in the bar pool with their parents. Kind of a waste. We all agreed The resort lacked in pools. There’s always the beach but the undertow was strong so we had to be careful. Liked the area of the hotel and was able to walk in the mornings down the strip. We took a taxi to the fashion mall in the rain but a fellow told us his taxi driver put $10 grand on his credit card so we paid the $11 cash each way. Didn’t do any day trips just needed to relax and hate the cattle run with those things. Gym is good and lots of classes to try. We also used the spa which is first class. Had massages and pedicures which were excellent.

Well my review has some good but more bad. Check in was good, rooms were ok , clean, house keeping was good unless it was changeover days they we were neglected and when they finally come to clean , basically they made beds, left no towels, face cloths, didn't change garbage, clean cups and coffee pot, and we were trying to get ready for photo shoot, so frustrated. Then my parents room safe gets broken into and $1000.00 was stolen, no compensation for it, and our daughters room had money stolen too. Riu Cancun: Beautiful Resort

The hotel was stunning. Modern looking with beautiful grounds. Pool area was nice and clean. Restaurants were good. Buffet had an excellent variety of food. Different theme every night. Not always the same food. The waiters and bar staff were very friendly. Such hardworking people. Always making sure you were taken care of. Occidental Tucancun: Good resort

This was a lovely resort, not really big, but very nice. The staff were outstanding. Geraldo and his staff at the buffet closest to the pools were very welcoming and were genuinely happy to help and take a moment to chat. I cannot remember all of the staff names, but they were great. At the Italian restaurant a Mr. Chan gave us excellent service. The pools were lovely and the beach unbelievable. We even saw baby turtles. My only negative was the front counter. Very slow and not terribly friendly [... read more]. Our key card had to be activated daily, and sometimes more than once a day. I really did enjoy this resort.

Riu Dunamar: Great resort!

We really enjoyed this resort, the food was fantastic, the beaches were nice and the pools were warm. We really enjoyed the individual sun shades that we could open or close as we wanted. We had a room with 2 double beds for the 4 of us but the beds were pushed together which was odd. On the first day our water was never replenished in the fridge, we tried calling the front but they never answer the phone, I had also noticed while seated in the lobby that the phone just rings and rings and t [... read more]he staff do not answer. We went on an excursion to isla mejeures which was a lot of fun! Given the resort is secluded it was not a short trip to get anywhere so we opted not too as we were with a 3 year old and an 8 year old. The kids loved the water park however the fact that they don’t have a bathroom in that area to use was quite a pain as it was quite a distance to the nearest facility. The kids water park does not allow drinks in, we even got in trouble for having soda, this makes it really hard to hang out in for any length of time given how hot it is. The pool bbq was amazing, they should offer some kind of fruit or salad to have with it, the first day with burgers, fries and chicken was ok, but after the 3rd day We were feeling malnourished, We did end up going to the buffet, but a fruit or veg would have been nice with the bbq. The photographers going around the resort were a nice touch, but became very pesky always looking at us to take photos, at the end the we priced out the packages and they are completely insane which is too bad. If they lowered the prices all of the hours that the photographer spent taking photos wouldn’t be such a waste. Our room was on the 4th floor above the restaurants around dinner time we noticed our room smelt like fish which was a little gross. We had the thermostat set to 21 at night, but it seemed much warmer in the room, the system would turn off and on but we would all wake up sweating in the night. On the last day we paid to extend our room until our 6 pm departure, check out being at 12 we wanted to enjoy the last hours at the pool and know our belongings were in the room and we could shower before we left. After we paid and went to the room, we went up to the room and the room key didn’t work so we had to go back down again to get the key programmed.. it was never extended. The resort is excellent for couples who don’t mind kids or people traveling with small kids as it’s easy to contain them, my 8 year old was getting restless on the 3 rd day as the big water slides were a little intimidating for her and the small ones were a little too small.. all and all it was a good resort, but could use a few things.

TRS Coral: Cosmetically appealing but lacking many things.

I start off with the positives of this resort. Everything from grounds to rooms are beautiful and appealing. Just a gorgeous place. Lobby is so welcoming and very clean as well. Staff goes above and beyond, and work so so hard for every guest. The beach was gorgeous and seaweed was picked up every morning. The negatives now and why we wont be back. The food at best is 4 star. Bad cuts and chewy beef which is always served rare unless ordered well done then ordered medium. All 4 of us had stom [... read more]ach issues on this vacation mine lasted 4 days which resulted in not being able to eat or drink what I would have preferred. This could be because they have their own water filtration system which the bottle and serve you in your rooms, I'm not sure. Two of us took dukoral before even and the other two go to cuba often and are fine. Somehow this resort twisted our tummies. Options for alcohol were great, all top shelf liqour, but they need mixologists that know how to make original drinks. Not sugar fueled fruit drinks. We expect more from a mexican resort rated a 5 star. We may be opting to go back to the fives azul by karisma next year since the food and drinks were exceptional or a cruise.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Great resort for families

First time in Cancun but have visited Mexico (Mayan Riviera) several times. We were a group of five (2 adults and 3 kids: 9, 8 and 2). We enjoyed the closeness of the hotel to the airport and the beach was far better than the other places we visited in Mexico (no seaweed). Hotel was great too - all rooms had a view of the ocean and everything was easily accessible (no need to take shuttle buses or walk long distances). Buffet food was OK (better other resorts), but service all around was superb and the restaurants made up for the rest. Our favourites: Italian, Mexican, Seafood and then Steakhouse. The kids club was alright. They had waterslides and a water park. Water park had ice-cold water, so while fun in theory, kids did not go. Also not many activities there compared to other resorts. I imagine they do not bother because of the waterslides and park. Overall, great. Recommend!

Secrets The Vine Cancun: Amazing!

We travel a lot and are probably in Cancun once per year. I’m also extremely picky in choosing where I stay. I’m 28 and work running two company’s so often need to get away. We usually stay at the Paradisus, but because of the Reno’s going on we opted to try the Secrets property. I’ve always noticed it from the beach and it looks stunning but now was I blown away when actually staying here. Food was incredible, some of the best meals we’ve eaten, way above the typical all inclusive f [... read more]ood that you’ve been accustomed to. Grounds were great, pool area is stunning! Super clean, great service couldn’t ask for anything more. We opted to upgrade our room upon arrival (in hindsight, you don’t really need to spend on it as we felt the service was the same for both privilege and non privilege. With that being said the room that we were upgraded too was incredible. We will be back for sure, and will try to book the bigger room if available.

Excellence Playa Mujeres: Not possible to give any higher rating!

The grounds were immaculate; the rooms left nothing wanting. The restaurants are top-of-the table, and the bars have a full range of drinks...many bartenders have their own specialty drinks. Notwithstanding, the aspect that will keep us coming back is the personalized service provided by all staff. And to top it all, celebrating our anniversary, the staff provided extra personalized attention to make our time unforgettable

Haven Riviera Cancun: Amazing vacation

We stayed at Haven for a week recently and we would definitely go back!! The rooms were huge, beautiful, modern and super clean! The entire resort was spotless, well maintained with beautiful gardens. Both pools were big and not over crowded and usually finding a chair wasn’t a problem. The staff at the restaurants and pool were excellent! The food in all of the restaurants was very good and always a great selection at the buffet. TRS Coral: Wonderful resort

The TRS Coral Resort, which is annexed to the Grand Palladium on the Costa Mujeres in Mexico, is simply wonderful, luxurious, at the height of its 5 stars and even more. We loved our 10-day stay with a couple of friends. The meals are excellent, but just one thing, contrary to what people say, there are no lobsters at this resort, there is only lobster. The rooms are luxurious, we had a loft suite, with whirlpool bath on the balcony and it's a huge balcony. The Chic cabaret is worth a visit, the [... read more] shows are superb and the meal served is delicious. The staff at the restaurants, the pool, the beach, the reception, the bars, our butlers Kevin and Carlos, all are excellent and always work with a smile. They go to great lengths to satisfy you. The air conditioning stopped working in our room, it was repaired very quickly, you don't need to call 10 times. So in short, this hotel is sublime and worth its 5 stars on all levels.

Riu Dunamar: Sunny Days

We spent all of our time down on the beach, because as my Husband likes to say we have pools at home. Bar service and a beautiful beach for walking and getting a tan. The room was very modern and kept clean. All the food and drinks were great. Liked hanging in the sports bar, although no hockey games were on.

Occidental Costa Cancun: Good resort/1*beach

We were extremely disappointed with the beach as it's smaller than the pool and the water colour was grey as the water from a lagoon leads into this area of the beach and it was kind of Muddy, don't let the pic fool you. Lack of night life after 10.30.pm. no music. This hotel was nice, the staff was excellent, we run out of small bills in the first week😊, food was Good to excellent, lovely restaurants. Room was nice and clean. If you're not much of a beach person and looking to just [... read more] relax nice and quiet this would be a great place for you. We stayed 2wks & By the 12th day we were ready for home. The grounds were beautiful, easy access to public transit and shopping. I also felt very safe here.

Occidental Costa Cancun: Disappointed

I was looking for somewhere to celebrate our 35th anniversary and the Occidental Costa was not what I had in mind. I will say that the food was good, the entertainment and dance lessons were also great. The staff were helpful and friendly. However, it was smaller then I anticipated, there was no beach to speak of, the pool was positively frigid. The room was tiny and the air conditioners were just outside our balcony. Royalton CHIC Cancun: Amazing and beautiful resort!

I think the resort was all around amazing. The beach was gorgeous and very clean. The room was very nice and spacious and the view from the room was really good as well. The cleanliness throughout the resort was very nice. I loved the service everyone was super nice.

Occidental Costa Cancun: Great Resort

What a lovely relaxing, authentic resort. Food great, rooms great! Haven Riviera Cancun: Beautiful resort

The rooms & grounds were fabulous! Buffet needs to be larger. Piano bar would be a great addition. Room service perfect! Marilu & Ernesto at pool bar were super. And Augusto, David, & Oscar at Limes were fabulous! As a 5 star resort, the champagne & spirits need to be upgraded. Beach was beautiful!
