Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Disappointing

When we arrived at the resort we waited over an hour in line to check in. Once we were driven to our room we were not given any map or directions for the resort ( it is huge) so we wandered around ( it was dark by now) looking for restaurants. We found that the buffets were the same daily despite the fact that they had themed buffet nights??? We were 4 people that travelled and we all got sick at some point on our vacation. The restaurants are too small for the amount of people there so the wait [... read more]ing lists were very long and you can not make reservations. The beach was the most disappointing part! It is so rocky it made it virtually impossible to swim. The wildlife on the resort ( monkeys etc.) were nice to see and kept my kids amused throughout the week. Found the grounds too large and the food options repetitive.

Delfin Beach Resort Puerto Vallarta: A very tired "Mexican" hotel in an excellent location.

This hotel reminds me of Hotel Pennsylvania in NYC which was amongst the worst hotels I've ever stayed in but in the best location available. It's right on the beach and right by the pier, and you can walk everywhere to shops, restaurants, the "malacon", and along the beach with beautiful sunsets. But it's a "tired" hotel which caters primarily to Mexican families. It wouldn't cost a lot per unit to make it better, but I don't like to see mould in bathroom showers, nor encounter cockroaches- [... read more] yes, I know they inhabit warmer climates - but two was too many. Address this issue, fix up the bathrooms, fix up the patio doors that don't slide properly, get rid of the 50 year old drapes, a coat of paint, buy better bath towels, put a few plants on the great balcony some rooms have, etc. I don't think any of this would cost a fortune, but sure would improve the hotel and the guest experience. Would I recommend this hotel at this time? No. Are there better hotel s in the same location? Probably yes. Is this a great location? Yes. So maybe someday it will improve or be torn down. The hotel Pennsylvania dilemma.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Beautiful Resort!

We had such a wonderful experience during our stay at the Barcelo. The resort is absolutely beautiful, and very well kept. The workers are so friendly and helpful. There is always something to do, and the food is terrific. Such care is taken into the display in the buffets, and the restaurants are top notch. Although a little small, our room was very comfortable, and the cleaning and restocking service was exceptional. Grand Riviera Princess: Christmas 2017 Stay!

First time to this resort, booked in the Laguana Villas the rooms were absolutely stunning and so big, out door shower lovely. Having this upgrade gave us access to everything at the resort, concierge took care of all our needs and called numerous times during the week making sure things were satisfactory. Food was good, grounds were meticulously groomed, staff very helpful and friendly. Beach was nice except ocean rocky and murky when we were there. All in all enjoyed our stay!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Excellent Service

Great food for where your at. Amazing service. A little way from Cancun, but if you don't mind, its great. The beach is a 10 minute shuttle; shuttles come quick and they accomodate if your in a rush. Amazing entertainment. Loved that we have all-access.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing

Secrets Vallarta Bay: Great REsort

We really enjoyed our stay at the resort, the food was good the staff was very helpful the room was nice and the serving staff went out of their way to make you feel at home, it was within walking distance to the malecon and you didn't need worry about being mobbed by any timeshare people as the resort is gated...we are going to stay there again on our next trip down to Puerto Vallarta

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Nice complex

The staff were great, grounds well maintained. The pools were COLD though. The food was good & grear that you have the ability to go to the other restaurants & buffets. The gym is good, but the odd morning lacked bottled h20.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Amazing resort

Great hospitality with good services, amazing food with the diversity in restaurant types, interesting kid’s drop off program with both indoor and outdoor area facilities but not a luxury room which free internet access was not available. Interesting shopping mall and bowling center with the perfect photo shoot service located in the hotel.

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Cozy & Comfotable

Traveling can be very hectic. This was a very cozy and comfortable place to spend the night before our flight the next day. The hotel was clean and well kept and the room was amazing. The hotel staff were very friendly and knowledgeable which made our check in/out very seamless.

Moon Palace Cancun: Something for Everyone

Big is an understatement. This resort is made up of three separate residences: the Sunrise, the Nizuc and the Grand. A stay at the Grand allows you use of the two other resorts but not vice versa. We stayed at the Grand which is still in the process of being completed. The construction left is related to aesthetics with respect to landscaping. They are minor and nature and will not affect your stay. The Grand has seven restaurants within the Lobby that caters to anyone's taste and two restaurant [... read more]s close to the beach. The restaurants include Le Chateau which is a French restaurant for adults only, Mexican, Italian, Lebanese, Asian, CJ Steakhouse and the general buffet. The other two include a Peruvian restaurant and a Carribean restaurant. The resort has three nine hole golf courses which are spectacular, a bowling alley, two sets of tennis courts at different locations, a teen club or lounge, two children's playrooms, a waterpark with a lazy river, use of bicycles, a health wellness pool, an adult only pool, an Olympic size pool, a family pool and several other pools, mini golf, an outdoor theatre and an indoor theatre. Since the resort is spread out into different buildings, they have their own transit system using golf carts. The rooms are spectacular and are opened with your resort bracelet. The standard room includes an espresso machine, a fully stocked fridge, a bar, a bottle of champagne, a bottle of wine and a candy drawer. There was never an issue finding a chair, obtaining towels. Staff was always pleasant and helpful.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great Vacation

We really enjoyed our week long vacation to Ocean Coral and Turquesa. The staff were friendly and we were treated with excellent service, especially at the swim up bar. The proximity of the resort to the ocean was a definite highlight and the entertainment was great. The only complaint we would have is that we waited 2 hours for the Mexican restaurant, only for the food to be so-so with small portion sizes. Otherwise we enjoyed the rest of our meals and had an overall great experience!

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: 3rd time and still great

The first time we visited this resort about 6 years ago we thought it was superb, this time we felt that many of the features that made this hotel great were still there, but everything felt 6 years older. Aside from the feeling that some things are starting to look dated the attractions to us that make this resort fantastic are still there. These include the great food at almost every restaurant on the resort. We left so many dinners commenting on how good that meal was. I personally enjoy meeting people and when you end up crossing paths with almost everyone at least once a day you feel comfortable striking up a conversation. The drinks, we found, were served with higher end brands making them taste better and the staff continue to be excellent at their craft. They know what customer service is and do it admirably. The one thing we noticed that was better than other years was the condition of the beach. Although still somewhat rocky it is much better than it has been and my only recommendation is if you have aqua shoes, bring them, and you will likely be glad you did.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Great resort!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Grand Palladium Vallarta: beautiful grounds/beach, comfortable/spacious room, excellent food (prime rib every night at the buffet), and very good service (most of the time). Humpback whales breached on numerous occasions just off shore. We also enjoyed several entertaining shows at the theatre.

Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills: Great secluded hotel

This is a wonderful, beautiful, quiet and peaceful hotel located in the mountains just outside Puerto Vallarta. Lots of green space, lots of vegetation, lots of nature. Excellent a la carte restaurant and very friendly staff. Great morning buffet but not so much for lunch or dinner. Rooms are large and beautifully decorated. Housekeeping needs some help in getting organized and be more efficient but rooms were always clean properly... however, toiletries and towels were often missing. O [... read more]ur biggest disappointment... the beach. It is small, rocky and water is murky.

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort: Awesome Vacation

Welcoming crew are wonderful. Everyone is happy to be working at this resort and do an outstanding job. The Resort is beautiful. Happiness begins the minute you arrive. There is a variety of things to do. The food venues are great. Eloi and Jesus at the Barracuda Bar give excellent service

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Nice family vacation.

We stayed at the Royal DeCameron in Puerto Vallarta and were very happy with the accommodations, food and service. There were so many different things for the kids to choose from to do (boogie boards, pools, beach, tennis, ping pong, life size chess, shuffleboard, etc.) - and the environment was extremely relaxing and stress free. Catalonia Playa Maroma: Misled traveler's.

Annoying Good day, We are back from our trip and i just have a few comments. We know that we were warned about construction going on with the pools and restaurants. That was fine... however, we were not told about the construction above our room! Historically I do not travel well with the motion etc. so on Monday around 3 pm I felt the need to lie down. Much to my shock, hammer drilling started above our room and I was expecting the drill to pierce our ceiling above the bed. This continued [... read more] for a cpl hours even after I went to the ' so called Privileged' guest services office to inquire. They offered to move us away from our friends and the building we liked to another building with 2 dbl beds. Not the 'King size' we were happy with. The drilling continued until I personally had to go up to the construction area ( after 5pm) and ask the workers to stop with the hammer drilling because I needed to sleep. We didn't get any follow up by the resort. Secondly, after we spent Thursday on an 'AirTransat' jungle event tour, we needed to unwind after a very eventful day and the drilling started again, ( after 6pm this time). I yelled at the workers to stop and go home, but the drilling continued. I went back to the "Privileged" guest services and all they said is that they will make some calls. (again, no follow up) with us. And once again I had to go to the construction site above our heads, around 7 pm, and ask the workers to stop drilling and go home to their families because it was getting late and the drilling was so annoying! Finally, on our last night there, (Saturday night, Sunday morning 3:30 am) we awoke to a very loud pounding above our room, I called the front desk and alerted them to the issue. After much waiting, I ended up going back up to the construction area and had to secure a door that was smashing against a 'cinder block' they had against the door. It was a stormy night and I had to move building material pails against the door to stop the smashing going on. I went back to our room and called the front desk again to let them know that I fixed the issue up there when they assured me they were sending security etc. They never sent security until I told them that I went up there at that hour of the morning to fix the problem. We were flying back to Canada that morning and it was very disruptive. We feel that we were misled by the resort and 'Trip central' was misled in the information that you were to give to your clients, (us). We felt ignored by the resort management team and very disrespected by our 'very legitimate' concerns. So, we are not very confident in 'Trip Centrals ' ability to provide their clients with the correct information, ( but I feel you were also given bad information), considering the supervisor I spoke to at ' guest services' had or pretended to have zero knowledge of the construction above our room

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Beautiful resort

Went with my husband and 2 kids for a week, and bought the unlimited pass to the Xcaret park. We had a great time - and I recommend it. It was a different experience than our typical beach vacation - but it was a nice change. The monkeys and the jungle-style setting were a thrill. The resort is gorgeous, the food was mediocre and a little disappointing compared to our previous stay at the Iberostar - but we always found something. The staff were mainly lovely, with the exception of our con [... read more]cierges which employed high pressure sales tactics and appeared to be mocking us more than once - it got the point where we would try and avoid eye contact. Overall though - a great week!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Group Family Vacation

The hotel is a large. The trolley system is good... but takes some getting used to. The property is well maintained. Rooms need updating. Beach and pools are nice. Wish the pools were better heated. Water is cold. Food is plentiful but needs to be hotter temperature. Biggest concern is the drinks, specifically the margaritas, daiquiris, etc. The lemon juice or simple syrup seems to have aspartame in it, Which makes these days drinks off -putting.
