Grand Oasis Cancun: Noise Rooms, Party all the time - SpringBreak fraternity type of hotel

- Rooms: My room was not clean when I arrived. The bathroom floor was dirty and unclean. The room is pretty noise with drunk travelers screaming in the corridor all the time. The bed is awfully hard to sleep on. Cheap and uncomfortable pillows. One guest open the door of my room with their card and I was disturbed in the middle of the night. I couldn't feel safe in the hotel, specially since I was a woman traveling alone. - Food: All restaurants had a line and a waiting time of at least 20 min [... read more]utes. Drinks were cheap options and the food was not good quality. I've requested room service because I didn't want to go out and they forgot the guacamole that I've order. Service overall was ok, since you're seeing the staff work very hard given the conditions. - The resort is very big and has lot's of attractions, however I felt pretty uncomfortable having a pole dance and sort of strip dancer in the nightclub. - Type of hotel that you feel in a college fraternity. Frat boys and young models all over the place. Guests weren't very friendly overall. I thought that I would experience a bit more of Mexico, but it seems that I book a package to Miami.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Not Good

Old and decrepit. Poorly organized for food service. Food only available at certain times. 2 bars always a line up. Nice beach. Most staff hardworking and friendly. Rated 3 stars but is barely 1 star. Old pool, too cold and in the shade.

Grand Sunset Princess: Amazing Place

What an amazing place the Princess Riviera is. We have been in many places in the Caribbean and so far this is our favourite one. The beach is just as you would expect. The staff is very friendly and will bend backward to help you. The food was awesome with lots of variety. The à la carte restaurant is a must. Our favourites were the Italian and the Japanese. The pools were well maintaine [... read more]d and the only thing is that it was not clear which ones were adults only and there would be kids playing in all of them. Sometimes the daily entertainment would be quite loud but at 11:00PM everthing is over and the resort becomes fairly quiet. The resort is a little isolated and you have to take a 20 minutes ride in a shuttle to get to Playa del Carmen. Overall, we will definitely come back

Hyatt Ziva Cancun: Absolutely Fantastic

This resort exceeded our expectations at every turn. We are definitely going back. We stayed in the all adult Turquoize Tower, 11th floor. View was phenomenal, Butler service was a new experience for us, it was awesome. Can't say enough good things about this place. Also, Trip Central had the best price for our trip over many other sites.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Fantastic Experience

Hotel was wonderful. It was kept spotlessly clean. The rooms were large and well maintained. The housekeeping staff was friendly, obliging and did a great job. The property is exactly as promoted. Though it was Christmas break and fully occupied, there was abundant staff to look after your every request. The staff were all very friendly and helpful as were the Sunwing ground staff. The flights were on time or early! The food at the Riu Palace was very good and everything was indeed all inclusi [... read more]ve as indicated. The nightly entertainment was great, with a special compliment to the " 3 Tenors ."

Zel Cozumel: Amazing resort!

Beach/Pools - I really liked the beach. It did have a build up of seaweed but the staff was great about cleaning it up. The water was a little choppy but usually clear. The pool was clean. The adult part was separated from the children's area. Service - Service was amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful. Because the resort was so small, the staff went out of their way to get to know you. Antonio at the buffett and Hilario at the Pool Bar were exceptional. Food - The food was go [... read more]od and there was a great selection. There was plenty for picky eaters and children. The food was fresh and hot. The Mexican restaurant was amazing. We prefered the buffet over the Italian restaurant. Rooms - The rooms were clean and well maintained. I found ours (Ocean View) to be a little damp. We asked for a dehumidifier but they didn't have one. Housekeeping did a thorough job in cleaning. Location - The hotel is on the North Side of the island and the last resort along the stretch. It was close to downtown Cozumel (about a $7 USD taxi) and the pier to Playa de Carmen. Comparative to the other resorts on the North side, the beach seemed better than most. Overall - I was thoroughly impressed with the Melia Cozumel. There was lots to do and it caters to families and couples. It's a small resort. It's friendly and casual. They offered evening shows each night. It does not have a disco but they play music in the lobby bar each evening after the show.

Allegro Cozumel: Mixed feelings

This hotel is well kept. BUT, we never had (and we've been in at least 20 resorts) a room so noisy. PROS -directly on the beach -well kept -the personel is nice and try to accomodate you -the beach is beautiful BUT just besides, there are plenty of garbage on the beach CONS -rooms are very noisy because the tiny tiny wall separating the other room makes you INSIDE the other room. If you paid for 2 rooms, then it's nice because they are communicating from inside but if not, and if you  [... read more]have a noisy neighbor - or if you have different schedules, like having young children and in the other room there are young adults - then it's nightmare -the food is ok but, sincerely, not that great. The big plus is the fresh juices that someone makes for you. But the food doesn't have a lot of taste and, the organization is poor (for example, we always had to wait a long time in line. Also, for Christmas, we were like 400 people but they had like 50 scampies... Or if there is a better dessert, there are only 40 portions for 400 people.... -BEACH: the boats drive too much near the beach, so you are confined in a little area and the boats have all the space and the sea to themselves

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Awesome place!

We really enjoyed all aspects of the resort. The facilities were great and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a family of four and the room was setup with two single beds and a king bed without having to make the request. We are already trying to plan our next visit.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Very Outdated

This was our first trip to Mexico and our first time at a Bahia resort. The resort is massive, we relied on shuttle service all the time because we were far from everything, a time waster and not ideal with a 6 year old as the walk would have taken forever with him. The buffet was huge and food was great here always, tonnes of variety. The 2 family pools were beyond freezing and my kids only went in once for 10 minutes, way too cold. The beach is nothing spectacular but the water here was warm.  [... read more]Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, always working hard, etc. The rooms were a good size but beds were hard, bed sheets had stains on them, blanket was very old, shower bar was broken so we could only use the rain shower and pressure was mid range at best, iron didn’t work, and the phone in the room didn’t work, We requested not to be on the ground and this is what we got. I went to the Air Transat desk and the rep advocated for us to be moved, especially after I showed her the photos I took of dirty everything. After 1.5 hours she was successful and we moved. New building still far away but at least on a higher floor - room here was as dirty as the first and we sucked it up. I would go back to Mexico but would never risk staying at a Bahia again, nothing here was so good that I would tolerate sleeping in old dirty bedding again. Not sure how hotel ratings work but I would give this a 3.5 at absolute best.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Beautiful Resort

The Resort was well laid out, the swim up pool is the way to go. More nightly entertainment would have been nice and maybe starting around 8pm. The al la carte restaurants were amazing, the buffet was good however temperature of food could have been hotter! The Spa was one of the best I have been to!

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Wonderful place - highly recommend!

From the moment we arrived, we felt comfortable at Secrets Silversands. The food is amazing. The staff - consistently wonderful. Everything about our stay was 5 star. Nothing at all to complain about. We never stood in line, the beach is lovely - the pools were great - with ample loungers for everyone. We will definitely go back to Secrets!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Wonderful selections of fresh fruits and friendly hospitality

My wife and I stayed at Sian Ka'an over the new year period from Dec 29-Jan 5 '17. This chain of 4/5 resorts at Bahia Príncipe was enormous, likely over 1000 acres with miles of great beaches to walk/run. Ecological jungle at $5 to a guided tour. Different gourmet restaurants about 8 to choose from - The Alux and The Corales (Brazilian Steak House) stood out to be spectacular in quality, taste and presentation - we were spoiled for the whole week aside from the usual breakfast and lunch spot at [... read more] the buffet. Because this resort at Sian Ka'an was adult only, it was very quiet by the pools (4 or 5 separate ones), staff came by to serve drinks - afternoon activities ranged from Bingo to Bocce Ball, Darts, PingPong and Volleyball and various others. We had asked for a change of mattress one morning and a brand new one came before noon. This resort was so huge that commutes by trams or long golf carts were used between our resort to the beaches on the south side of the highway about a 7 minute ride which was quite pleasant as we got to see some exotic iguanas sunning in temps of 27-29C and other small Coati-Mundis - a hog-nosed coon indigenous in the tropics - very cute and harmless. The new year's party was amazing at The Hacienda with fireworks and casino action right after - we had loads of fun watching Elvis, magicians and dancers and acrobats strut their routines and show off their amazing muscular physiques and curvy figures - it was wonderful!! Overall we had a well deserved relaxing week of vacation filled with fun, great food and hot sun - what else can one ask?!?

Grand Palladium Colonial: Great resort, lots to do for the kids

Great resort. Lots to do for the kids. the sports park is great in the evenings before dinner always a few soccer games going on which the kids could take part in. this was our 3rd time at the resort and the resort has definitely upgraded the quality of their shows in the evenings. They were well publicized and definitely top notch. I wish they had a few additional ping pong tables around the pool. these seem to be popular with everyone and lineup are rather long. additionally for the a-l [... read more]a-carte's they need to do something about the time it takes. We went the Mexican and Italian restaurants and both were 90 minute wait's even though it seemed as though the place was empty.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Great Resort!

We upgraded to a platinum suite, and ended up with a swim up suite, which was fantastic. Service at the beach and at our room by the pool was fantastic! Room service was quick and great, small selection, but good for what when we missed a meal. Food was average, wait staff was excellent, the ocean is very rocky and has lots of coral (water shoes a must). Very quiet resort in the 5000 section, a little more energy by the main pool and of course next door at Grand Sunset which you also have a [... read more]ccess to. Entertainment at night at the main area was good, often brief, but the then continued at the theatre indoors. We only saw the Grease show, which was great (lipsyncing to the main movie parts, they were spot on!). Some of your stock photos are inaccurate however, there weren't any chairs like the above photo near the beach, just palapas and lounge chairs (in abundance).

Allegro Cozumel: Amazing Resort

A fabulous resort...loved the size..everything was open...food was great selection...staff was fantastic.... Diving experience was great... Lots to see ..went into Cozumel by cab walked around the markets and cruise ship area

El Cozumeleno Beach: Great getaway

My boyfriend and I went here for New Years. The service was amazing, as was the snorkelling at and near the resort. The room was very large though a bit outdated (we were in the smaller tower). The food at the reservation restaurant was amazing and the buffet food was decent. Bring water shoes if you want to walk down the beach (for the rocks) and bring your own snorkel equipment if you have it or buy it for cheap downtown. You only get one hour per day of free snorkel gear rental and anything l [... read more]onger than that is 10 USD per person. They do sell snorkelling equipment at the activities desk but it is quite pricey for what you actually get. Ask for a high floor, the first 3 floors are blocked by palm trees in many places whereas anything above that has an incredible view of the ocean. Bring bug spray, depending on how much of a breeze there is the mosquitos can be quite bad at night time (like when you eat dinner at the buffet restaurant which is not enclosed). The wifi in the lobby is quite unreliable however they do have 2 computers in the lobby which you can use and we found those worked a lot faster than trying to use a laptop or phone. Overall we had an amazing time and were blown away by the service. I would go back!

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Nice Family vacation,but won't go back

The Resort Accommodation We stayed in the Eco Superior Junior Suite - room 1901. It was situated beside the bridge path to the water park. It was pleasantly furnished and updated. It was cleaned daily and it was a good size for our family of 3. We found it to be a poor location because of the privacy. We did not have our curtains open and when we sat on our terrace, we were overlooked by people using the bridge to get to the waterpark. There wasn’t any hot water to speak of - so we took [... read more] cold showers for the entire week of our stay. The fridge was restocked daily with beer and pop. There was also a water dispenser in the room for drinking water. The entire resort is situated in a mangrove jungle and as such it is not as beautiful as other resorts that we have been to. There are also some strong funky smells as you walk down some of the paths (sewage etc.) Restaurants Our favourite restaurant (from the few that we tried) was the Los Lirios Steakhouse. The food was really good, the staff was attentive, it had an excellent location and cool vibe going on. We didn’t have to make reservations. Be aware that for each of the ala carte restaurants, they do have an adults only night. It is posted in the front lobby by the concierge desk. If you show up to that restaurant with children on the night that it is adults only, they will not let you in. The Italian and Mexican restaurants were OK. We ate a lot of our meals at La Laguna buffet. There was always lots of choice and it gave you a chance to try different things. By the end of our week, we were getting bored of the food. Make sure to get the french fries at lunch, the nachos and pico de gallo were also great. They did do an excellent meal for New Year’s Eve!! Staff The staff were always very friendly and very attentive. There were always people working to improve the buildings, greenery etc. Royal Elite Within 20 minutes of arriving at the resort we were roped into attending the Sandos Royal Elite sales pitch. If you have spare cash in the region of $15,000 to $25,000, feel free to listen to the their sales pitch the next morning. If you don’t have money, don’t waste 2 hours of your life. They make it sound like you are going on a tour of the resort with breakfast, but in the end they come on pretty strong to make you a member of their resort club. They even called us at 8 am to ensure that we were going to attend. From the beginning in the lobby make it clear that you DO NOT want to attend. Water park and pools The water park is split into 3 sections based on height and age. The kids all had a great time there. Make sure you measure your child before you go, so that they are not disappointed when you get there. They are very firm on the height restrictions. Fortunately our 10 year old was tall enough for the adult slides. This kept her occupied for hours. We enjoyed the pool by the beach (not at the end where the activities go on). There were always lounge chairs available. The Beach Although the beach was beautiful and the sand was soft, it was very narrow and the shoreline is rocky. There is also a lot of seaweed that washes up. We didn’t go in the water as it wasn’t appealing to us. We took a taxi to the sister resort - Sandos Playacar. It cost $14 one way and took about 20 minutes to get there. This resort had a beautiful beach and we enjoyed swimming in the sea. We saw lots of fish and could walk out far on the sandbars. Overall we had a nice family vacation. The resort is average at best. We don’t think it is worth the cost or deserving of 4+ stars. I would recommend it to families with small children, but if you are adults only, don’t go here!!!

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Heaven On Earth !!!!

I have been throughout my life to many 5 star resorts......But never anything like this!!!! From the bed on the beach to the amazing quality of food and service.Its all about the people like Gaudeloupe who takes care of you at the Seaside Suites beach,this guy treats you like family to the bartender at Driftwood they are amazing people.The management clearly knows and understands Customer Service and that is what we received over and above.Cant say enough about this place even the beach,which so [... read more]me people BEACHED ABOUT was ok with me!!! Barcelo Maya Caribe: Great Vacay!

We are just home from one week at this resort and we didn’t want to leave. The resort was fabulous. The rooms were clean and spacious with outside sitting areas. The beaches were amazing and we were always able to find eight chairs for everyone. There are lots of pools and activities. Our four al la cartel restaurants were great too. Kyoto was my favorite. The staff were always friendly and helpful. We all really enjoyed ourselves and ended up not even leaving the resort. We will be back!

Riu Santa Fe: Great resort

The grounds were beautiful and very clean. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, although the bathrooms need an upgrade. The food was very good, but they need to replace their heating lamps as the food was always just warm, never hot. The New Year's Eve dinner was amazing.
