Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Delightful visit to the dR

Everything was in place to make this a wonderful respite from old man winter. Resort was wonderfully small yet well appointed with everything we needed. Didn't have that "city" feel when there just too many guests for the size of beach and restau etc. Whale watching was best ever.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Second time not as good as the first

This was my second trip to the Casa Marina and I do enjoy the resort and the town immediately outside the resort. However, I paid for a garden view and what I got was a view of a ditch, barbed wire fence, and what looked like to me some sort of prison compond. There was supposed to be a bottle of rum waiting for me in the the room, but no dice. I particuarly did not like the one night I returned to my room to find my bed covered in ants. Service is not great but the beaches are b [... read more]eautiful and stepping outside to the local town of Sousa is nice. I will probably book a different resort next year though.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Warmth and sunshine!

The resort is well maintained and very beautiful. There is only one building with ocean view and unfortunately we weren't in it. The beach area was clean and raking was done throughout the day to get anything like seaweed that washed ashore. Snorkelling wasn't great, but we did see a few fish. The rooms were large with lots of space to put your clothes. The bathroom was also large with a walk in shower and a jet tub. It was a bit dated and slightly dirty (walls), but again lots of space wi [... read more]th 2 sinks. The food wasn't great and very repetitive and the service was slow. Some days we were over half way done our meal before drinks or coffee arrived. I did notice that French speaking people were served better, I am assuming it was because resort staff speaks Spanish and French. The restaurants were okay, but again the service was slow. The Brazilian Restaurant was the best food by far and best service. The entertainment was awful and there was nothing to do past 7pm until it started at 9:30. There is no hot tub and the pool is closed at 7. No lights on the tennis courts or area with pool table and the attendant leaves at 7 so you can't get the equipment anyway.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Viva Wow!

The hotel was fantastic, rooms were clean, food was awesome, beach was good (minus vendors but they have a job). All in all 4.5 stars! The only draw back in my mind was the fact that people don't tip..!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Terrific Resort

The grounds were well kept; food great and lots of variety; lovely spacious rooms; staff friendly and very helpful; and the nightly entertainment was just fabulous. Had a wonderful time there. Would return again.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great place especially for kids and elders

Just came back from this place and we enjoyed it. We traveled with our 18 month old and were very pleased staying here. We had a lot of fun at the beach which had a bit of algae but very clean. It was also very stroller and wheel chair accessible with wooden paths going very close to the beach The shuttles came very often and was very practical to go everywhere. We only ate at the main buffet as its easier with our baby but service was friendly and food was good and a lot of variety [... read more]. Rooms are big, spacious and clean but not the most comfortable beds.

Wyndham Alltra Samana: awesome stay

Stayed at Grande Paradise January 24 to 31 Beach was beatiful and well maintained Food was excellent good variety An expresso bar would be a nice touch!! Room was clean and comfortable Staff were friendly and attentive tips Help All in all excellent for the price and will be back

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Overall property very good

The grounds are always very well kept, staff is friendly, food excellent. Ambar Blue needs a refresh. Check out the new Fantasia section it's amazing, brand new, the lobby, the hotel, the restaurants, everything about this section is stunning. This was our 3rd trip to this resort, first in the Punta Cana Section, then Ambar Green, and our last trip Ambar Blue. Location of Blue is very good, but is much older. Had a ton of fun doing the aqua spin class and the surf yoga - both were excellent  [... read more]and are at Ambar Green pool. Don't miss it. We will return to try Fantasia next trip.

Occidental Punta Cana: Great resort

Very clean, but the service could be a little faster and people should not be ignored, I felt like sometimes the servers did not want to serve us because we did not tip all the time. The rooms were very clean resort was clean did have an issue at check in but it was resolved quickly

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazingly huge yet intimate resort!

Loved that we could take advantage of entire property because we stayed on the luxury Ambar Green side! So unbelievably clean and beautiful everywhere. The A.G side was quiet and relaxing...and we loved the entertainment each night. Never had trouble finding loungers poolside or beach!

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Nice quiet vacation

This resort was just what we asked for. A place to relax and enjoy the sun/shade. Our Sea view Villa was quiet, spacious and very clean. The pools and beachfront bar were excellent. We enjoyed the fact that shade trees/ umbrella's were common at each pool/ beach. The main buffet had theme evenings and the food was good. Depending on which area of resort you stayed , there could be many stairs for the active vacationer, BUT free shuttles ran from each area regularly to the main hotel or room [... read more]s if you wanted to ride. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Fabulous vacation !!!

We had an excellent stay in Punta Cana at The Luxury Grand Bahia Principe Esmerelda. We visited Jan 20-29th 2017 and will definitely return. It sure is a large resort but we never felt crowded and everyone was happy to help. Tripcentral is a good agent to book with and we were really pleased with our booking.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Another wonderful stay!!!

Second year in a row at this resort..... Just like the first time it was a great vacation!!! Resort is clean, food is good, drinks are great, staff is very pleasant and weather was amazing!!! Would certainly return!

Riu Merengue: RIU GOOD TRIP

All was great at the Merengue resort. Good food, beautiful grounds, multiple hotels to share services and helpful staff. The room was clean, freshly redone and everything worked. Best of all was the way we were treated by the front desk staff, particularly Delmis. RIU resorts needs to clone him for all locations. We will be back!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beau et grand

Très beau resort. La section adulte était plus calme. Très bien mangé, plage magnifique. Dommage que plusieurs viennent y réserver des places aux aurores... on trouvait des chaises à toute heure mais un peu plus loin. Seul hic du voyage, comme c'est grand, il y a du bruit: le soir des fêtards qui reviennent bruyamment à leur chambre, au matin, des gens qui sortent en claquant la porte, le personnel de l'hôtel qui décide de brosser le plancher des couloirs à 8h du matin... on était pr [... read more]ès du lobby et des show y sont présentés jusqu'à 22h30! Impossible de se reposer avant, on les aurait cru dans notre chambre.... Pour les resto à la carte, les meilleurs sont toujours pris.... heureusement que le buffet est très varié et excellent. Le personnel est très gentil et courtois.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Fabulous week - great resort!

I just returned from a glorious week at the Sunscape Puerto Plata. I have enjoyed this resort in the past under the previous ownership but the recent renovations have made a great resort even better. The food is fabulous - we mostly ate at the buffet, but also went to the Italian twice and the Grill. All of the food venues offered great quality and service. Having a coffee maker in the rooms is a nice addition as is the TV. (Any chance of getting CNN in English?). It was great not having the ann [... read more]oyance of wristbands and needing advanced reservations at the a la cartes - smart move! I am always touched by how sincere the Dominican staff are and how hard they try to accommodate your every need. They are incredible and really make the vacation! The gym is a great addition as are the Zumba and dance sessions at the end of the afternoon. LOVED the CoCo coffee lounge - staff are lovely as are the products!! We also loved your music choice throughout the resort - keep that for sure. You're doing a great job Sunscape. See you next year! Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Wedding destination

We enjoyed our stay. Come for a wedding of our cousin...beautiful backdrop...the ocean!!! Large place with many different pools to change up the days rest and relaxation. Sad day when it was time to go home = (

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Interesting view

This hotel was well kept and very clean. We up graded to golden junior suite when booking. Extra space in room and beach towels there, also one extra a la carte but we cancelled to go to buffet. A la carte nice enough. Most days pool lounge avaiable(three pool areas plus beach). Definitely not mobile friendly! Stairs to everything. Good if your looking for stair exercise!Shuttle avaiable to the door. Some elevators.Not very user friendly as you have to go down halls, up stairs, around the p [... read more]ool, etc. to get to buffet, lobby, etc. But weather was beautiful, meet some great friends. You can see town across the bay, boats, and quiet bay on other side.Overall holiday was enjoyable!

Emotions by Hodelpa Juan Dolio: Beautiful Resort

Our arrival at the resort was late but the gentleman at the reception desk was friendly and happy to greet us. We had another gentleman help us to our room and show us where everything was located. As I said, it was late so we just got a nice cold beer out of the mini fridge and sat on our veranda overlooking the beautiful color changing pool. The next day we got up early and went down to breakfast at the beach restaurant where we were delighted to find a large assortment of breakfast foo [... read more]ds as well as a large variety of fruit and a cook preparing omelets and eggs however you liked. After breakfast we walked down and stuck our feet in the Caribbean. It was very warm and the beautiful blue water along with the soft sandy beach made us want to come back and enjoy the gorgeous beach. If you want to get a beach chair you should arrive early because they fill up fast on sunshiny mornings. We then took a walk around the resort to check things out. We located the a la cart restaurants, another buffet style restaurant, a climbing wall, tennis courts, an oversize chess board and a target range to shoot a bow and arrow. We also noticed that there was a daycare as well. We don't have children so we didn't go inside. There are also two very friendly flamingo's that love to be fed a little piece of bread and don't mind if you take their picture. Our hotel room was quite large with a king sized bed, a mini fridge, an umbrella that I am happy to say we didn't need, a flat screen TV with many channels (some were in English), a safe, a large wardrobe and a dresser. The bathroom was very large and the shower was large enough for us to both shower in together with plenty of room to spare. It contained a shower head at both ends so there was no wrestling for the water. We had a nice veranda with 2 chairs and a small table that we sat at quite often contemplating what we were going to do next. There was entertainment nightly but we aren't much for large crowds and noise. Our room was overlooking the area where the entertainment was being held and it was very loud. We are early risers, so the music caused us to have a hard time sleeping. My suggestion would be to ask for a room overlooking the garden if this is something that you want to avoid. We stayed in the adults only part of the resort and it had it's own private pool that was very quiet with it's own beach chairs and security gate. The a la cart restaurants were all very nice and quite tasty. We enjoyed the Italian one first, the Dominican one a couple of nights later and the Mexican one last. The Mexican restaurant was very popular so it filled up fast. You had to get in and make your reservations the day before and first thing in the morning. The buffet style restaurants were also very good. We enjoyed the variety and the convenience for all three daily meals. The resort is located in an area that had a few small shops. If you are willing to go off the resort and have a walk, you can get better prices than you will find from the vendors on the beach and we found them to be all very friendly and helpful. The resort had a photographer that took pictures in a variety of poses with her two beautiful parrots. She did an excellent job and we had a very hard time deciding on which pictures we wanted to purchase. The Nexus employee helped us decide which excursion we wanted. He explained everything they had to offer in perfect English. We decided on a full day trip into Santa Domingo that we enjoyed completely. The history of the city is amazing and the old city is breathtaking. Our guide could speak several languages and did an excellent job of explaining everything. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and did everything possible to make us have an excellent vacation. The bars were open early and stayed open late so you always had beer and mixed drinks available throughout the day to keep you refreshed. All in all we found this resort to be one of the best ones we've stayed in so far.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Good time

The resort kind of lacked in the food department for the fact it didn't sit well in their stomachs but besides that the only thing bad is the amount of stairs. The people are nice, and it had great party life. rock on!
