Grand Palladium Colonial: Excellent family resort

We travelled to this resort for seven days around New Years 2018. It was our second visit to this resort. Check in was efficient and friendly. Our room, a junior suite, clean and well furnished and maintained. The rooms are sized big enough to store all of our luggage and still move freely. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very nice with a good shower. Grounds were well maintained. Food at the buffets was very good. We tried a couple of the a la cartes, and they were a bit "h [... read more]it and miss" as the waits were long and probably not worth the wait, although the food quality and service was very good. We used mostly the main pool at the Coloniel and it is very nice. Service at the swim up bar was excellent. There were a lot of activities going on around the pool which would satisfy most age groups. Bars serve Dos Equis beer, which is decent. Liquor was of decent quality, and bar staff was always fun and friendly. The beach isn't fantastic for swimming, but is a nice area for lounging. The resort also has a sizable "sports area" with soccer fields, volleyball, tennis and basketball, amongst other sports. The evenings usually featured an international pickup soccer game which became a highlight for my teenaged son. Nightlife is probably lacking as the resort is some ways from the clubs in Playa, and not much is going on at night, but for families this may not be an issue. If you are going to party, this probably isn't the resort for you. Location is quite a way from Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Good that the resort is somewhat isolated, but about 1 hour drive from the Cancun airport and about a 20 minute shuttle from Playa. Overall, the resort is well maintained, with nice rooms, good food and service and nice pool. Beach and "nightlife" were negatives.

Riu Santa Fe: Amazing Resort

We thought that this Resort was outstanding. The grounds are immaculate and there are plenty of pools whether you want quite or loud. We are in our sixties but prefer watching the young ones having a Great time and listening to the great music being played and reminiscing about the times when we were that young. Entertainment was great as well and the Entertainment staff were the most hard working people.Our room was in a perfect location thanks to Kevin Dupuis request and we couldn't ask for an [... read more]ything better. Check in was fast and efficient and so was check out. The only negative is that the food was on the cold side...they should invest on better heating lamps but otherwise you would not stay hungry. The New Years Eve Gala was outstanding in every way including the food being hot...so it can be accomplished. Thanks to Kevin Dupuis for accommodating our every request. Can't wait to go back as we had a very memorable time

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Exceptional staff

Exceptional service What makes this resort so exceptional.....the staff. You cannot ask for better service any where else. Kary & Andres @ Cozumel every morning started my day looking after me before my husband arrived...Lunch @ KUKULCAN was just as great...thank you to Omar, Landy & Norma...you made us feel like family. There are many good choices for restaurants based around Coba....Le Gourmet..Guadalupe & staff will look after you..Mashua & Mediterranean are good choices. Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Great resort

Very clean well maintained. Excellent staff and service. Good variety of foods. Was a bit disappointed with New Year celebration- was raucous but likely appreciated by younger patrons. Overall very positive

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Still a favourite

This is my third time to this resort. The best place to go relax! The location on this Bay is perfect! I didn’t leave the resort for 7 days but whether it’s 4 or 14+ days. There are many shopping, walking, outings to take in if that’s your goal. It’s still a 2.5/3 rating. I’ve stayed at 4 & 5 star places and this is still a favourite. My group of 4 took in New Years there. The meal was amazing! The entertainment was ok, and fireworks were surprisingly fabulous! My only disappointment was the stinky smell of our headboards, and we never got face cloths in our room. Both kind of minor really.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Solid 4 Stars Resort

Honest solid 4 Stars resort - much greater than some acclaimed 4.5/5 star resorts It is evidently an amazing hotel and in a great location. All rooms have an ocean view. The beach is one of the best Mexico has to offer with various sealife in it's ocean like turtles, rays and fishes. We traveled over the holidays and the Christmas eve dinner was definitely outstanding. Special thanks to the Management for the disciplined and helpful staff.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great Food!

Small restaurants, amazing food and service. Essence section was new and modern, beds comfortable. Lots of pool, bar areas and quiet spaces to relax. The main pool and beach are great for the Mayan. Wine is drinkable.

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: good resort with a few glitches

Secrets Capri is a good resort with great service. The room is comfortable if a bit small. The food is great, and the staff really try to please you. Couple of things I found distasteful is that the resort tries to sell you tables around the pool area for dinner in order to watch the show. In an all inclusive resort this shouldn't be happening! Also, the cabanas on the beach and around the pool are not included in the resort. They charge $70 US per day for the use of the cabanas!!!! I giv [... read more]e this resort a 4 star based on this. Had they included the cabanas , I would give it 5 stars.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Super

Facility, rooms , grounds in excellent condition. Food and service great. Good location adjacent to Bucerias with plenty artsans , markets, restaurants. Cold beer, easy and safe to wonder around . Great!

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Royal Decameron Complex, Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerias

Our family booked Royal Decameron for a Christmas carefree holiday and we LOVED it!! We were so pleasantly surprised that at least half of the vacationers were Mexicans and their families, others mostly Canadians. It's a great family resort, with lots of activities, ie, tennis, ping pong, shuffleboard, ceramic painting, etc. not to mention the great quality of their evening shows. The food, staff, rooms, restaurants, layout of the hotel blocks and pools, were excellent! And, Leopoldo, barten [... read more]der at one of the bars, was so quick with service once he knew you. Manuel, server at one of the restaurants, and so many other servers were just so nice and pleasant every morning! We really loved the layout and evening activities to stroll around in the evening and explore, see the artisans on site, and just enjoy the resort. The rooms were clean and spacious and our family was all together as we had our rooms close by. Bucerias was walking distance, good local food, and fun to explore and not too touristy. I'd definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Fantastic Resort

Loved the resort, food delicious,drinks flowed only one issue. Our building 29 must be close to the sewage treatment facility as the smell was so bad in one of the rooms we requested to be moved. It took 2 days for the move to happen and not sure if anything was resolved as the room appeared to be occupied the next day by new tourists. The facility is kept clean and comfortable and the staff couldn't be more kind. Would recommend this resort and look forward to going back!!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: BAHIA PRINCIPE COBA

My husband and I traveled to this resort for a 4 day stay. It was a beautiful place. Well maintained. Clean. Not a worry about bed bugs or cockroaches, which I throughly inspect upon arrival. Staff were friendly and service was very good. Food quality was good also. Clean dining rooms and buffet area. Clean snack bar. Many a la carte restaurants to chose from. Resort was huge! You have to get around by trolly. They stop often at designated posts. The only hard thing was to get to the beach. You  [... read more]couldn’t walk there way too far. And a lot of the trolly cars didn’t go there you would have to wait for 5 to go by before one would take you there. Sometimes we waited half hour at the station. Once at the beach they had a beautiful buffet and beverage station that you could access. This was one of the most beautiful resorts I’ve seen. The attention to detail by the staff was so impressive you can tell a lot of hard work goes into making guests truly have the best vacation Thanks again from the Beaupre family

Catalonia Yucatan: We'll be back!

As I said, "We'll be back!". Maybe next time we'll try Catalonia Maya. New Year Eve prices were slightly overpriced, but it's ok. I almost forgot: guys, you have to do something with the beach chairs/loungers: no one available after 8:00 A.M.

Iberostar Waves Quetzal: Outstanding Resort

This was our 3rd visit to the Iberostar Quetzal. We enjoyed this last visit just as much as our first. The food; amazing. The buffet is just as good as the al a cart restaurants. The grounds: impeccable. Jungle views, monkeys, peacocks, flamingos are just a few of the sights you will see. The beach: perfection. Soft, white sand and crystal blue water. We give this resort 5 stars; not only for the resort itself but for its staff.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Lots to do for everyone

We have been to many All-Inclusive, as well as stayed off resort in Mexico and the Caribbean. This resort by far had the most comprehensive list of items to do, great snorkeling right of the beach, awesome children areas, bowling etc. There are a total of 5 resorts, which you have access to the facilities of 4, although most facilities are a copy of the others (just slightly different set up), it does mean you get a choice of the show at the theater for the night or the specials in the buffets.  [... read more]Over the 4 resorts the area is large, however on the resort you are staying it is not that far from room, to beach to lobby/buffet etc and as each resort has everything you don't need to travel far. The food would be the one let down, no one got sick, but it is sub-par come compared to other areas we have stayed (even Cuba). We would definitely go again - great service, no waiting for drinks, no having to save chairs, great beach

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Fantastic

Had a great time - paddle boarding, surfing, sailing, kayaking, beautiful paths, amazing shows, and dancing the night away, this place has it all. Food is great, the place is beautiful. Everyone was absolutely great - special mention to Carlos Yamazaki for being awesome all around and making the vacation memorable, Victor for making sure I had fun in the sun and the sea, Jesus for getting the party started, and Pepe for a great manicure. Housekeeping needs improvement- no clean towels for 2 days!! they eventually showed up but I was forced to complain. Overall all 3 of us had a blast even though we were all doing different things, and with all the exercise and stuff going on, we even lost a bit of weight, even with all the great food.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Average Resort with a Dolphin Prison

First I want to say if I knew this resort had a Dolphins on site in a small prison pool I would have never gone there. For that I will not recommend this resort. As for the other details. Overall I would say this is an average resort that doesn't have one thing that stands out. The beach wasn't bad. The pool was ok. But I would say the food was poor especially the vegetarian options. Goods: The shuttle service around the resort The Tulum side had the pool near the beach The fire  [... read more]show at the beach party The New Years eve show was done well Bads: This resort has a Dolphin pool on site. The size of the pool for Dolphins is smaller then the main pool for people. Release the Dolphins! Just for this I would not recommend this resort. Coba resort pool very far from the actual beach. Had to shuttle if you wanted to switch locations. A few rooms in our group had water leaking from the air conditioning. The vegetarian options at the buffet and a la carte were extremely limited. Keeping vegetarian and meat food and utensils separate was always an issue. Food was NEVER hot (in temperature). The food labels did not always match what was in the tray. Far from Playa Del Carmen (40 min drive - I already knew this) It was unclear on where the entertainment was always taking place. And the crew didn't go up and down the beach to notify people as they do in other resorts. The night show schedule changed frequently.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Will not return!

Too far from airport. 1.5 hours on bus. Hotel is very old and in need of major upgrades. Extra charge for safe in room. No fridge, hair dryer, ironing board, bedside clock in room. Beds are very hard and all of the furniture is falling apart. Have to ask repeatedly for extra bottled water at front desk. Food is only ok. Buffets have limited hours. Not all inclusive! Beach nice but very busy.

Hotel Marina El Cid Spa and Beach Resort: Amazing resort and staff!!

Hotel was amazing, pool area and cliff jumping was awesome for the kids. Highlight of the kids trip was our butler Eduardo 😃He was amazing and the kids just loved him! We were in platinum building 14 with an amazing ocean view and huge room.

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: Nice Resort but "less than expected "quality of services

It's a beautiful resort, clean and well kept. The beach was beautiful and we could walk for miles on the fine sands, good for beach lovers. -It wasn't the most of welcoming of check -in that we have been experienced. The front staff offered slow services and some appeared not knowing how to provide good customer service. -The room was nicely setup but it was too small for three adults. we had an exactly similar room as our son's with similar size and arrangement but he paid for two  [... read more]guests and we paid for three. Although we had paid triple and had requested a room with 2 double beds and one sofa bed, we were offered a room with only 2 beds, without sofa bed. We were given only 2 sets of towels, 2 glasses, 2 cups...and had to repeatedly asked the housekeepers for extra daily. When we asked the front desk that we had reserved a room with sofa bed, we were told that it's a busy time and they have none available but they do have one in the Royal level with an extra charge of 3500 pesos per day, or 2750pesos after the discount ( we had a discount coupon ). We told them that we don't need Royal service but just need a bigger room with enough beds for three persons, they then asked us to pay 2500pesos extra per day. We felt not being fairly served and decided to stay in the same room. -the wifi was another disappointment. They charge US$12/ day/ device. Unlike other resorts, there was no wifi available in the lobby at this resort. - the food was just ok. There were limited selection of food at the buffet in the first few days when we arrived, but we had better selection from The XMas day, though nothing special. The restaurants food were much better. We like the services at the Hacienda and Tokyo. - the entertainment were ok. We like the Michael Jackson show, but too bad the announcements were all in Spanish, possibly the resort wanted to entertain the majority of the Spanish speaking guests. -some of the staff were very friendly and some bartenders provided good services. We can't forget the good services and good conversations we had with Ricardo Marcos, Miguel, Jesus,... at the Hacienda and with the staff at Tokyo restaurants.
