Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: quaint resort - quiet

Angsana Cayo Santa Maria is an average resort. The beach is small but lovely as are the two pools. There is not much to do at this resort so if you are looking for complete relaxation you will enjoy it. They ran out of sparkling water while I was there which was unfortunate. The gym is small and one of the two tread mills did not work.

Starfish Tropical Cayo Santa Maria: Awesome vacation

I really enjoyed my trip. The food was very, very tasty. There was a selection of different foods, you would always find something very satisfying. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The beach was phenomenal! Only one disappointment, I found the majority of staff in the buffets, lobby and à la carte could not understand english or french. In all fairness, we are in their country and it should be up to the visitor to know the language of the country you are visiting, but it is the first [... read more] time in over 20 years of travelling to Cuba, Mexico, Dominican, Jamaica, and Roatan, that I have encountered this. Keeping in mind, this did not have a negative impact on my vacation; I just found it a little inconvenient when at the à la cartes. The staff at the reception were very friendly and could communicate with us very well. I will definitely go back to this resort.

Memories Paraiso: Great food!

Fantastic beach, turquoise water, and lots of things to see and do. Buffet was excellent! Lots of choices and fresh fruit! There was a beautiful Cuban restaurant. Entertainment every night! We had a shopping plaza next door. Buildings need a little more maintenance. Room service was an issue. They ran out of towels and the mini bar was not filled every day. Overall we had a great trip!!!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Beautiful beach

Wow. What a beach. Located beside a nature reserve, the beach stretched on and on and on. Gorgeous setting. Food was typical Cuba, not the greatest but who cares with scenery like this. The two hour bus ride was long after arriving at dusk but coming back the view was lovely at the front of the bus. All in all, wonderful Cuban people, great beach, nice pool set-up. We would recommend this hotel indeed.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Disappointed

Definitely not a 4.5 star, more like a 3 at best. Resort in disrepair, lack of food and drinks. No white wine, ran out of beer every day. No toi IV or tomato juice.No soap or hand towels in washrooms. Missing toilet seats. Lobby furniture filthy and damaged. What food there was was terrible. Room fridge never stocked. I assure you we aren’t fussy but expected more.... never again!!

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Beach

The beach was beautiful and the weather perfect for Feb. The resort, Meh! First time to Cuba,and all the usual things were true. Food not so good. Beach was nice. We were not impressed enough to go back but I cant say it was an awful stay. There was nothing really to do but stay on the resort as most excursions were far and didn't look all that exciting.The pest fumigation at the end of our stay while we were waiting on our bus back to the airport was like being in a Oliver Stone movie as we wer [... read more]e totally smoked out. Bit of a lack of sensibility to the guests. Overall it was alright to get away on the cheap.

Starfish Tropical Cayo Santa Maria: Ok resort

Felt like we had to tip or leave gifts to get adequate service. We didn’t get the room we booked and didn’t have any hot water in the shower. Not sure if Cuba is in our travel itinerary any time soon. So overall we weren’t satisfied unfortunately.

Starfish Tropical Cayo Santa Maria: Good Resort

The place was starting to show its age. Everything was clean & maintained as well as they could. There was a bit of language barrier. The resort seemed short staffed or overbooked for the staff they had. The beach was amazing & great for a week of total R & R.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Very disappointed

This was my second time visiting this resort. Last time was about 4 years ago and wasnt too bad. This time it was very disappointing. There was no returning guest dinner or bottle of rum. Apparently some people do get it as my friend did this trip. Food was disgusting and cold and huge lack of food in general. The guests would near knock you over to get in front of you. The life guard spend his days flexing his muscles and exercising on beach and never seen him watching the water at all. The room was good, clean enough for my liking Beach is amazing and grounds were well kept. Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. I love Cuba but will hir be returning to Starfish again

Memories Paraiso: Need improvement hotel

This resort was rated a 4 star but it was not . This was an all inclusive but very limited with the food and beverage supply. The resort was run down. Our room had a water issue when taking a shower we had water outside of the room and mould growing in tub. Very disappointed with the resort but loved the beach and had amazing weather. Last thing was the service wasn’t that great. When we arrived we had a room where the door would not lock. Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Wonderful time.

Grounds, were cleana fn well maintains, they were working on walkways to the beach while we were there. Bedroom, clean with enough space to relax . They had a cot without asking while was ideal . Main negative, the beds were rock hard, the cot was the most comfortable. Did not think until we returned, but I'd ask if they has bed toppers. Reception, fast but not informative. They did not tell us were to sign up for restaurants, or taxis could be taken to the market for the same price as t [... read more]he best which never showed following an hour and half of waiting, they said every 45m. Pools,Beach .... perfect! Drinks .... amazing, a little stong at the beach. Bus ride might be 2 hours, but it's a tour in itself, we all enjoyed it and drinks the whole way, two beer for 5 canadian. Note money in the fridge does not get you more, or for us did not. Food was great, seafood restaurant we enjoyed the most. Buffet was always great, stone oven pizza sooo good. I do not suggest the Asian restaurant.

Memories Paraiso: Horrible

the rooms are full of mold no coffee maker we asked to have one and none was delivered fruit flies were all through the fruit at the buffet and not ripe the same food was served daily and was never warm bed linens were not changed it was hit or miss if you got new towels they kept running out of beer and ran out of water I took pictures of the mice in the lobby not to mention the cockroaches in the room will never return

The first night we arrived around 10pm, for some reason our room was not booked correctly. I booked the suite and was given a standard room. The hotel was unable to do anything that night so we stayed in that room. The next morning I was in contact with the Sunwing rep and hotel, our room was arranged and we moved in the next day. The new room was great. It still took another two days for our diamond package to kick in. If not for these few issues I would have had no complaints and given the h [... read more]otel, staff and Sunwing a 100% rating. The room, beach, pool, food and staff were all amazing! Thank you.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Wouldn’t return but made the best of it

The hotel was a little run down. But they were renovating the floor I stayed on. Which hopefully will improve the hotel. It took me half of my vacation to get a blanket. And there were roaches in my room and my friends room. The same utensils were used on raw hamburger that was sitting out in the heat with no ice etc, as the utensils used to serve the hamburgers. The cheese on the pizza was rancid and gave me the worst food poisoning. I was violently ill for a day. I will say the beach is go [... read more]rgeous and the staff is delightful. The a la Carte restaurants are a saving grace.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Relaxing resort

Hotel was nice and clean friendly staff. Washrooms never had toilet paper but cleaned . Grounds need more lighting pretty dark and scary to get to restaurants at night. Entertainment was fair. Food was ok . The beaches were breath taking . Would I go again probably but to Veradero .

Just got back from here February 18,2020 We chose this resort for a number of reasons: Quiet Adults only Nice beach Nice food small resort All the above are absolutely true, but what isn’t explained are the people. I ate more fruit and vegetables than I ever expected also. Our room was 0840 which was farthest from the beach and lobby. 2nd floor. We had no problem, but a long walk if you have trouble walking. But what a view! And a bed to die for. King. The rooms have coffee makers and get CTV on the tv. Great little fridge with beer and a large water supplied every day. I would look for a cabana in number 1, 2, or 3 when going back. Closest to the beach and the lobby. Bring a converter for your electronics (220 v)

Memories Paraiso: NOT IMPRESSED

BATHROOMS WERE DISGUSTING ALL OVER THE RESORT. OUR ROOM #4136 TOILET LEAKED ALL THE TIME, WE REQUESTED ANOTHER ROOM BUT DIDN'T GET ONE. WE DIDN'T HAVE A COFFEE MAKER FOR 3 DAYS. WE DIDN'T HAVE COFFEE FOR THE LAST 3 DAYS. OUR ROOM FRIDGE WASN'T STOCKED. MOLD ALL OVER THE CEILING FAN AND OTHER AREAS OF THE ROOM. MY ROOM MATE DEVELOPED A NASTY COUGH (PROBABLY BECAUSE WE WERE BREATHING IN MOLD) BUS RIDE WAS AN HOUR AND HALF FROM AIRPORT......TOO LONG

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Dhawa, our home in Cuba!!

We were at Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria for the 5th time in 14 months. We love this resort for the amazing service from all employees, they create an atmosphere of family with all guests. We really feel like we are part of the Dhawa family. We prefer smaller resorts and Dhawa fits the bill. No matter which bungalow you are in, you are no more than 2 minutes away from everything. We go to Cuba for the beaches and this hotel has a beautiful beach with lots of shade and chairs. Great drinks se [... read more]rvice too served right at your chair. Food is great and abundant choices for Cuba standards. Rooms are cleaned and equipped with a large shower no bathtub unless you request a suite. Management is very attentive to your needs and are seen on site everyday. There is also a bank opened 8:30 am to 8:30 pm on site to exchange money, which is very convenient. This is a quiet hotel, don't expect party like atmosphere all day long but this is what we prefer. We are really happy we discovered this gem and we will be back again for sure.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Great Resort

This was a last minute booking and we couldn't be happier. The resort was great. staff were very helpful. Amenities were great. Food was good. Beach is very nice. Rooms were very clean and quite large. Had an ocean view which was beautiful to wake up to. Would go again for sure.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Not great

Food was absolutely TERRIBLE! Not the greatest of Amenities either. Had to beg for water and other beverages for our room. We changed our flight and came home early. I was sick and I thank god for me peanut butter. My husband was bit head to toe. Worst trip ever.
