As always this is a fabulous resort. Traveled Jan 4-11, 2015. Quick check in. Greeted with cool towel and cold drink. Room was not ready as we were there at 12:30 Check in is 3:00 but our room was ready earlier. Escorted by bell hop to our swim-up suite. Building 54. Very nice room. Now to the pool just outside our balcony door. The pumps were not on, and did not seem to be cleaned as there was lots of long dark hairs in the pool and small bugs and the pool never smelled clean. Fresh water did n[... read more]ot seem to be filling into the pool. It was slimy. We mentioned this to our Butler and he passed on the information. They say they clean the pools before we even get up in the morning. ?????? Pool was still slimy and very slippery. The main adult pool always smelled like chlorine and just smelled cleaner than our pool. In a nutshell the pool by the swim up suites were not as clean as I would have hoped they would be. Kind of disappointed in that.
Restaurants were great, great buffet for breakfast. |Great servers in the restaurants. Just remember that your dollar goes a very long way down there. You do not need to tip always but it buys you greater service. ENJOY !!!!!!!

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Great place for kids!!
This is a huge resort and we were pleased to have access to all branches of the Palladium. Lots of restaurants and places to go, very professional, food was good. We had no problem upgrading our room. Everything was easy. Would definitely go back!

TRS Turquesa: Disappointing
We went to the Royal Turquesa the first week of January/15. We have been to Punta Cana twice previously and enjoyed but thought we would try something new. That was a mistake. This appears to be an older resort although the room we had was recently renovated and was nice. There was strong sewer smell outside our room and around one of the bar areas , although we saw work crews doing something with this 3-4 days into our stay. The food not very good and we understand many guests had the same comp[... read more]laint. In fact, my husband picked up something from the food on day 2 and was sick the balance of the week. There was little food on the resort itself, all dining establishments were in other parts of the larger resort, so if you are not mobile this is not the place for you. We saw very few Canadians at this resort, almost all Russian and German guests. Two positives - the Butler service was excellent (try and get Ramces if you go) and the weather was great!

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: lot's of different little spots on the resort
Overall it was a nice resort and nice little spots around the site.
Service was not the best for the price you pay. Maybe because it was full capacity (NEW YEAR WEEK)
Fyi if you bring your own wine and ask for nice big glasses, they will give you a hard time.We we're not impressed for this matter.
Even thow it was at 100% capacity, we didn't feel like we we're stepping on each other sine it's a massive resort. Room were clean. If you want a sick view on the coral beach tey the get room 2921.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Very nice
The signature Palladium pool was very nice, the grounds were very clean
and the beach was a huge disappointment on the resort. Even water shoes will not save you from the rocks and coral that are right on the beach. The resort is so spread out there is a lot of walking, be prepared!

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Great Family vacation
Just spent a week down at the beautiful Grand Palladium resot in Riviera Maya, Mexico with my wife, 2 kids, as well as the rest of our 20 member family.
Highlights:
Plenty of beach chairs - never had to go hunting for chairs or deal with people stealing chairs
The pools! - the pools had everything for young kids (safe pools with water slides) and large pools big enough for fun for people of all ages including the great swim up bars.
The size of the resort - because the resorts are all connecte[... read more]d, it means you have access to all the restaurants, different pools, sights, etc.
Activity Center - the activity center is absolutely incredible. Good turf fields for soccer games, nice tennis courts, basketball courts, etc.
Natural Pool - a natural pool fed by the ocean that includes fish - great for young kids learning to snorkel
Drinks - We have been to a couple of resorts and the drinks were made with quality ingredients and delicious
Beach - The beach had nice sand, a good amount of waves and was very secluded. It was also not populated with vendors trying to sell stuff.
Daytime activities - the entertainers were great at getting the resort involved in games/fun
Lowlights:
Food - with 13 restuarants and a high rating I was expecting a better range and quality of food. The breakfasts were fantastic, the meat was delicious, but the side foods (veggies, rices, etc) were rarely good.
Travel - with the larger size of the resort and abundance of activies, it also meant a lot of walking time from location to location. They do provide travel between locations, but travelling with 2 kids under 5 meant a lot of walking.
Night-time entertainment - This is definitely a family style of resort and means the night time party life is lacking.
Kid Zone - we checked out the kid zone and were really dissappointed with the lack of supervision and activites for the kids.
All in all, definitely a beautiful resort that I would recommend to any family looking for a safe location to visit.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Nice All Inclusive Resort for the Family
We spent the second part of our Christmas vacation at The Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort and had a great time. The weather was great, the food was phenomenal, and the drinks were abundant! Make sure to book your dinners early for the specialty restaurants ie: Italian, Asian, Indian, Steakhouse, Jamaican, and Mexican. We had a reservation at 6:00pm most evenings and found it to be the best option. After that time period, you will be sure to have to wait for your table. The reservations fill[... read more] up fast and it's on a first come first serve basis.
The buffets were great for breakfast and lunch and don't forget the Sports Bar for snacks, pizza and hotdogs for the kiddies. We spent a fair amount of time in the air conditioned game room. Pool, Fooze Ball, and Ping Pong kept us busy before the evening shows.
One can easily tell that this place was once a "Grand" place to vacation in its' heyday. There are updates to be had, however it is still a nice place to stay.
For the most part the staff was accomodating. The rooms are decent and the maids always kept our room nice and tidy.
The only problem we encountered was that the door/cardlock system was dysfunctional on several occasions. We had to go back to reception and have our keycard reprogrammed or have security attend. Not so nice when you've had drinks and just want to retire to bed!
Great Pool, nice beach area with snorkeling equipment, kayaks, windsurf boards and paddle boards available. Most days all of the snorkeling equipment was being used so if you want to snorkel every day bring your own gear!

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Very disappointing
While the grounds, pool and beach were fine, the food and the means of obtaining it were anything but. The room and the bathroom were old with no pressure on the old fashioned shower. I will be in to talk personally to the travel agent as I believe I did not get the product I requested and it was vastly overpriced.

Grand Palladium Colonial: A resort that lived up to all my expectations!!
I loved the landscape and scenery and the wildlife! The resort was immaculate and the staff very helpful. The beach was lovely and the option to walk long distances while still on the property was much appreciated. (Especially when thirsty as there was a place to stop for a drink at either end lol) I recommend the resort to families and couples alike. We were a family of 5 with 2 young adults and a teenager. Many activities to chose from and no shortage of restaurants to try out.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: How can they mess this up?
A very good resort for families. The rooms were good, the beach very good, the activities are well planned, the food is a very good mix for both children and adults. The grounds are expansive and well maintained. The problems are all related to check in and check out.
Check in took about 1 hour! We were then driven to our building and dropped off WITHOUT OUR LUGGAGE. We were told that our bags (left at the lobby) would be brought around later. What were we do do until the bags arrived? The bags [... read more]took over an hour to be delivered to the room. While we waited for the bags, we used the instructions given us at check in to set the code for the in room safe. Naturally the instructions were incorrect. I would have read the (correct) instructions on the safe but my reading glasses were in my bag back in the lobby. The bags finally arrived and the bellhop had the nerve to expect a tip!
Check out was very slow. Two bus loads of visitors was checking out but the only staff on duty was extremely slow and his work was incorrect and required several revisions. Although we were issued 2 towel cards, and returned both cards to the check in person, I am watching my credit card statements to make sure that they do not charge us for "lost towels"!

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Great resort!
Overall, our experience here was really nice. Since a little out of Montego Bay, no one bothering to buy stuff on the beach - we loved that! The staff were pretty nice and helpful. The resort is beautiful!
Surprisingly, the buffet is better than most of the A la Carte's - the Indian and Mexican restaurants were awesome! (Except... Mexican restaurant needs new chairs...not comfortable). Very disappointed in the Jamaican restaurant - that should of been the best one.
The room was very nice and s[... read more]uper clean. I would have liked to have seen a recycling bin for the water bottles. They had a couple recycling bins around the resort. If you really like the turn-down service at night, it needed to be more consistent.
Gym was very good. Just needs to be a tad colder and would be helpful if they had hand towels.
We never had any trouble getting beach towels (awesome!!!) and beach chairs (awesome!!!). The umbrellas/shade, of course, were a little harder to get at the nicest beach.
The Infinity bar with the nightly band was GREAT! Some of the bands were really really good and fun to listen/dance to. We preferred that over the "nightly" show.

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Room infested with Ants
The exterior grounds of this resort was certainly very well kept and beautiful. However, if you are travelling with young children definitely not recommended. The resort is interconnected as 4 hotels together and to get anywhere you need to wait for Trams to take you to the Restaurants or pools. None of the facilities were stroller friendly. All parents had to carry their strollers over bridges. When riding the Trams, the drivers drove dangerously and recklessly. Worst part was our room was infe[... read more]sted with ants which I have videos and pictures documenting. Our complaints were ignored. Travelling with 1.5, 4 and 7 year old, we barely slept with the fear of ants in our bed (Room 6127). Only thing they did was change our sheets everyday and claim they sprayed some insecticide... Which was even worse not knowing what kind of chemical was used. But every day we found ants crawling on the sofa, chairs or luggage. We pretty much moved out all the chairs and stools to the balcony and sealed up our luggage the entire time. We did a test and put a little piece of apple on the couch and within minutes, the ants came swarming. My 3 children and 1 had rashes and bites everywhere. My son would wake up with new bites. We pretty much drank a bottle of Benydrl in the 7 days. The shower had a used bandaid in the corner of the shower the day we got there and the entire 7 days it was still there. This tells me they don't even clean the showers. The apparently clean sheets smelled like clothes left in a washer for days and forgot to dry. The buffets in all the restaurants were poor quality. Staff was clearly over-worked and underpaid as no one seemed pleasant. One positive of the resort was one of the a la carte, particularly Ribs and More was finally of good quality and tasteful. Excellent steak. Most servers had horrible attitude. Beach was horribly rocky and can't even walk on most parts bare feet. The resort we stayed at should not be called White Sands but Rocky Sand. So disappointed. Another positive was very nice kids pool but unless you booked a room close to the Colonial side, you can expect to take 30 min to get there and if you forgot sunscreen or anything in your room. Too bad for you! Would never recommend this resort to anyone. Calling this resort 5 star is absurd. 3 star at the most.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Good family vacation
This was the first full family resort vacation that we have taken with all three kids and Kantenah was an excellent choice. The grounds were beautiful and the kids loved all the animals wandering around. With four hotels shared there was lots of exploring to do. The beach is stunning and the food was good. Having many excursions near by is also a big plus. The kids also really liked the kids club and went several times. This gave us the chance to have a couples vacation within a family vacation.[... read more] As part of Kids club, the kids were involved in several shows before the main shows in the evening and this was an unexpected high point for the trip. Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Best of Times and Worst of Times...all in a week!
Upon arrival our pre-booked adjoining rooms were on opposite floors. The concierge asked us for $250 USD to have them adjoining so naturally we paid this as we brought children with us. We asked the Supervisor the next day if this was common practice and he said NO and returned our cash within 24hrs.
The rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately 3 out of 5 of us became sick from food poisoning on 3 separate days. They were reluctant to permit us to take food from the buffet back[... read more] to our room for those who were ill but then finally brought out styro plates and then it was not a problem the rest of the week. The beach was beautiful, the grounds were well manicured, the trolley was nice to see all 3 resorts, and there is a wonderful 'secret' adults only pool that we found out about on our 2nd last day (open to all guests of the three resorts) that is an absolute dream free of children playing, filled with spa music, fountains and much more elaborate beverages at the bar. Find this pool...you will NOT be disappointed.

TRS Turquesa: Very nice resort
The Royal Suites Turquesa is one of four resorts in a complex of Palladium resorts. As such, we had access to the restaurants and amenities of the other three resorts. However, because the Royal Suites Turquesa is adult-only (and presumably the premium resort of the collection), guests at the other three resorts did not have access to the RST restaurants and pool areas. Among the four resorts, there were about a dozen a la carte restaurants to choose from, which were generally quite busy (reserv[... read more]ations required) and a bit noisy. We tried two (the Brazilian and the Japanese) and enjoyed both of them. The RST guests had exclusive access to two restaurants, without the need for reservations. We never had to wait more than ten minutes. Once we tried the RST restaurants (La Chantarelle was particularly good), we returned there for the rest of our stay. They were very good. In addition to the beach, we had access to three pools for RST guests only. All were very good. The servers were quite attentive, including checking in regularly when we were at the beach. All in all, it was a very good experience. We would be happy to go back.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Good food/overall atmosphere
Buffet food was the best I've ever had at a resort, however a few of us did have some stomach issues. Everyone is very friendly and overall atmosphere of the resort is great. Rooms were quite outdated - very nice and clean but did not have any water pressure in the shower our whole stay (maybe it was due to us being on the 3rd floor).
