Been at Royal Decameron 5 times and looking to go back Great value and fabulous service Close enough to go into Puerto Vallarta Lots of pools including an adult pool 2 buffetts both with different sekwctions of food Always a great time People very friendly very clean

Riu Santa Fe: Lower your expectations

Unfortunately, we paid good money and went in ready to spend more. There was mould on the walls and ceilings and no one seemed to care. The furniture was older and well used, the ceilings and walls had cracks in them and the bathroom left a lot to be desired. Overall it was a big let down. It was safe and fairly quiet, but definitely not worth the money we paid. The food was decent but repetitive. Unfortunately I doubt that we will ever be back.

Tropicana Hotel: Poor excuse for a resort hotel

We paid extra for a superior room. The only superior part may have been a decent view. When we arrived we asked what the room was and requested a different one that we could at least make some of our own meals in. We were told they had no such rooms. A week later we ran into a couple that had a full kitchenette although they hadn’t asked for it and they couldn’t switch either. Our room didn’t even have a mini fridge which is absurd considering the 30 degree temps we had. The air conditione [... read more]r worked when IT wanted to and constantly beeped throughout the night due to a faulty timer. We asked 3 times for it to be fixed but never was in the 2 weeks we stayed there. The cleaning staff were very good. That’s one positive. The front desk people couldn’t care at all about their guests. Even upon checkout never inquired how our stay was or hoped to see us again which they never will. I wouldn’t recommend the Tropicana to people I don’t like let alone a friend.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: 3rd Time's Still a Charm!

Our family of six (all adults) travelled from Regina, Canada to the Grand Palladium Vallarta December 14 to 21, 2017 for a pre-Christmas holiday. We all booked through TripCentral. It was Sunquest tour on a Westjet plane. We like to book the Sunquest better than the Westjet tour because the wait at the airport for your transportation is much less. This was our 3rd time here. Had the most amazing waiters, HERIBERTO and CARLOS. They treated us like family and we wanted to take them home with us. Four of us upgraded to the Royal Suites, so I think that got us more perks, plus much larger rooms. I love all the stairs. Being up on the cliffs gives the resort a lot of character and helps to wear off all the food and drink, not mention the beautiful views from up there. The drinks are NOT watered down. We really enjoyed the different cocktails at the Royal pool bar. The bartender there (can’t remember his name) made the best Cielo Rojo’s in the whole resort – thank you. Food was good as usual. Our favorite a la carte was the Ribs and More restaurant. They have the best BBQ sauce on their ribs. Had no problem booking a la carte’s, just went to the desk in the hallway at the front lobby and they helped us out. The app did not work for us. If you are in line at an a la carte by 5:30 you get in when they open anyway, at least we did. Found the WiFi to be fine, never had a problem, except it would not load the Palladium app. Took advantage of booking the spa for an 80 minute massage. It was wonderful as usual. Our daughter was sick for a few days, but she forgot to not use the tap water for anything except showering. Use bottled water even for brushing your teeth. Have no complaints, except maybe the pool was too warm, LOL, not really a complaint. You are in one of the most amazingly beautiful, friendly places, with great food and drinks. if you treat these beautiful people the way you like to be treated, you will have no reason to be unhappy. Barcelo Karmina: Excellent Resort

No line up, no waiting !Our suite was waiting, Beautiful,5 th Floor,balcony overlooking well kept grounds,beautiful polls and terrific view of the ocean.In minutes we were in swimwear,lounging at an adult pool, with a cold drink of our choice,delivered by the excellent pool service. So much great food, pleasant atmosphere,and excellent service. Our next A [... read more] la carte was the Agave, Mexican, restaurant. It's location and atmosphere is wonderful. The open air,and ocean setting is very special. The food and service could not have been better.We enjoyed a view of perhaps the longest and perhaps best fireworks display across the water from here--how lovely !! The Barceló treated us to a Christmas Eve Buffet and stage entertainment. This was beautifully set up on the grounds. The food selection was truly exceptional. Turkey, Barbequed steak, shrimp cocktails and so many-many- other dishes and choices !! We loved the Italian , Capri, perhaps the best. The a la carta was good food and excellent service, but their breakfasts and lunches were the very best. The friendliness and service we will never forget. The breakfast grill cook made your morning. Her smile, and knowing what our order was and how we liked it cooked was terrific. The staff all so friendly, and again excellent service. We so much enjoyed the extended a la carte lunches, of excellent "specials"from the menu, superior service and great view ! Our maid service was very good. She maid us feel very special with a floral flower heart decorating our bed and a hand written Feliz Navidad Christmas Eve. Our only bad experience was the Bugambilias Resturant. We were assigned a table and upon returning with our food found our table was taken. We immediately took another nearby table that was not set up. We were told we could not sit there , and moved to a table that was not set up. No glasses or linen. No service.After some time we were able to flag down a waiter, and ask for water and wine. Finally water came but never wine !! Oh well guess we can't expect perfection !!! The Mexican Show was very entertaining and well done.

Grand Sunset Princess: Amazing resort

Beautiful beach, great pools, lots of a la carts, yummy food, very clean rooms. Servers are amazing and the whole resort staff are very accommodating and nice. Will come back again! 10/10 would recommend

The hotel is clean and huge. Though you have to walk a lot if you are in bloque 6 to go to eat or to the beach. The food is amazing. The best A la carte restaurant was the Rodizio with more than 7 kind of baked meat. The beach is wavy but enjoyable. The staff is really friendly. The best thing we enjoyed were the night shows. Every night is a different one with high quality dancers. They are very professionals and every night you get amazed. The location is convenient as you can walk to the bank for better rate currency exchange.

Secrets Huatulco: Excellent staff, good food and amazing views!

My husband and I had a very enjoyable week at Secrets Huatulco during the Christmas holiday. We were happy with everything this resort had to offer. Staff were very friendly throughout the resort; they went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. We ate at a different restaurant every night and the waiters were all excellent. For lunches, we mostly enjoyed delicious food in Castaways - special thanks to Marco and Antonio! We also visited CoCo Café almost daily where Olivia would make great [... read more] Espressos or Americanos for us – big thanks to Olivia for her exceptional service! What’s also special about this resort is its amazing views. The complex was designed and structured to maximize the ocean views from every angle possible: from restaurants, bars, rooms to hallways and even elevators – very creative and thoughtful!

Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa: Wonderful hotel!

It was a very pleasant experience. Overview the hotel is pretty nice. The room was comfy, food was delicious, we loved have a dinner in Mariz. The pools are amazing, we really enjoyed. If I come back again, will book the same hotel for sure!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Beautiful vacation

We really enjoyed our stay at this resort. The staff are very friendly and helpful.The resort is very well maintained and the grounds are beautiful! We have two suggestions, one is to update the guest rooms as far as decor. They are vey clean! The other is to have more signs for the quiet area of the pool and to put one at the bar in that area. Too many loud abnoxious people would come to that area and wreck it for those trying to enjoy some quiet time.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Amazing Resort, wonderful Staff!

Everything was wonderful from the bus ride to the food to the rooms themselves, pools were very clean and service was amazing would definitely return to this resort.The only things that i would like to see improved are perhaps the wifi in the lobby as it gets quite slow and unusable at times, as well as booking restaurants for reservations and for Christmas. we spent full morning being told to go to different places of the resort to book our reservations. aside from this wonderful trip!

Riu Emerald Bay: Everything perfect

This was the third time we visited this resort and we love it. The beach is beautiful even though the water can be pretty rough at times. It is excellent for walking as is the street out front. The hotel itself and rooms are immaculate and so very clean. The staff go above and beyond to accommodate you. Jose and Pancho will look after you well in the Lobby Bar in the evening. The buffet food is excellent and we never tired of it even after two weeks. Our only negative comment is not in regard  [... read more]to the resort but the late flight with sunwing getting into Toronto and taking one hour and 20 minutes to get our luggage. This is not acceptable. Not a good way to end vacation.

Riu Palace Las Americas: STELLER HOTEL

I would give this hotel a 5 star rating and here is why. first of all check in went so smoothly got the room we wanted and were welcomed with champagne. The room had everything you could ask for large bathroom double sinks walk in shower soap dispensers shampoo body wash fresh towels and robes. The room also boasts a stellar ocean view with mini bar king size bed which was very comfy, fridge fully stocked with water pop and beer. You must go here trust me you wont be dissapointed loved it.

I loved the resort , people were so nice and friendly , activities were so fun , I loved the room and how it was always clean when I came in by the end of the night the only thing is I would’ve preferred better music and different food ,

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Excellent Resort

Best resort we have been to. Pros: Enjoyed the adults only infinity pool with pool side service. Buffet had lots of options and good service. Good transportation to get around the resort and adjoining resorts. Excellent liquor selection and lots of tequila!! Evening entertainment was good. Sectioned off area of the ocean was good for a daily swim - keep it calm and clean. Cons: Room smelled musty, uncomfortable bed.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Top notch resort!

The place was quite amazing, the best vacation spot that I have ever visited. Everything was done top notch and the service was very amazing. All the staff seemed to love their job and really seemed genuine. It was a huge resort but didn’t seem to be large. The a la Carte restaurants were excellent and the buffets were no exception. I have to go back again and visit this same resort.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Incredible Getaway

Incredibly clean and all of the staff are very helpful and professional. We found a lot of the signage regarding restaurant hours or the location of the nightly show were incorrect and lead to a couple of minor disappointments, but definitely not a reason to not go. We enjoyed the beachside drink service and restaurant variety. The nightly shows were fairly entertaining (with a couple of terrible exceptions). Beloved Playa Mujeres by Excellence: Skip this property. Disrespectful!

Honestly my wife and I expected way more than what this expensive property offers in the way of genuine service and giving their patrons the feeling of appreciation. The smirks that the staff displayed while thinking the guest was not looking. But other guest were. The disrespectful comments in Spanish when the staff “thinks” that the guest does not speak their language. “lamentables” With the properties available in the region you would be better served to Skip this Property. [... read more] Very disappointed. Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Great Time!

Pros: My husband I had a great time and enjoyed all the amenities of the hotel. The hotel was clean, staff very friendly. Our room was nice and comfortable and kept clean. Cons: Only problem is that I got sick on the last night of our vacation, so not sure if it was the ice in the drink or the food. Also be wary of being caught by timeshare selling at the airport when you arrive -we were delayed with the timeshare pitch and took a taxi to our hotel instead.

Riu Dunamar: Riu Dunamar Excellent!

The Riu Dunamar just opened. We were concerned it would not be really ready, but nicely surprised upon arrival. The check-in was quick and efficient. Our room faced the north side of the resort and we could partially see the ocean. The rooms were modern, the bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was a dream. The meals at the main dining room were very good. The salad bar offered a wide variety. There main dishes were very good and there was enough of a variety to still be interestin [... read more]g at the end of the 7-days. The wine was very decent and dessert were very interesting. We went to the italian restaurant, we did not need to reserve before hand. First come, first served. Meal was excellent. The Sports Bar offers big television and there is a food counter where you can get a salad, a fruit salad, a prepared sandwich, hamburger, hot dog. There is also a nacho warmer. Microwave is right there for your convenience. The pools were really nice, enough chairs for everyone. The Beach is fabulous, you can walk an hour in each direction. Would we go back? Certainly. Do not hesitate and enjoy your vacation
