Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Gorgeous Resort

We absolutely loved this resort. The food was amazing. You could enjoy the best buffet breakfast and lunch and a la carte dinners. The French and Italian were our favourite. All staff were very friendly. We stayed In the Golden Section which had a lazy river right in front. I did not think we would enjoy it half as much as we did. The food you can order around the lazy river was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful and cleaned regularly. The only negative for us was the beach. Selection Riviera Cancun: Excellent vacation

We've been to the Azul Sensatori resort 4 times, and each time it was a very satisfying experience. The service is impeccable. Waiters, grounds-keepers, chambermaids, support staff, managers, luggage handlers, lobby staff, etc, were extremely professional, courteous, always smiling, always cheerful, always willing to help.

Tropicana Hotel: Give me location instead of over priced extras

This hotel is about location. The amenities and room are good,but the proximity to old town is great. The pools are fair, one more family is located beside another deeper pool for short length swimming. The beach location again was pretty ideal, very close to the busier beach zones closer to mid town, but quiet enough to relax and not be bothered. The included breakfast for my arrangement was basic (eggs, bacon, toast and coffee), but enough to start the day. Although the property is o [... read more]lder, it is kept well maintained. This was a very good economical choice of holiday. You don’t get the bells and whistles, but you aren’t paying for them either.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Memories to last a lifetime!

Thank you Iberostar Paraiso Beach for making our vacation for our group of 8 so amazing. The beach and ocean was so beautiful and clean. The pool, bars and food was excellent. Not a complaint to be made, the food selection and quality exceeded my expectation. Japanese A la carte restaurant was rated the best by our group. Shout out to Lilliane and Luis from the entertainment staff. We miss your smile Lilly. The grounds are lush, full of wildlife. Won't be forgetting the coons by the beach gri [... read more]ll- they definetly bring some humour in our day. ( they don't lie when they tell you not to feed them, haha). Only two recommendations during our stay: could use more trolley service ( I enjoyed the walking this time as we didn't have our younger kids with us) and more music for all pool bars.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Beautiful resort

Nice location. Staff from check in to check out go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Lots of selection for dining and always lots to eat and drink. The ocean is sometimes very rough but the waves are awesome.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Impressive older resort.

The resort buildings, grounds and pools were very nice. The food was excellent and the service unbelievable. Nice clean older resort, with very friendly staff. My wife and I were very impressed. Our only complaint was the fact that there were no facecloths in the bathroom.

The Pyramid Cancun: Fabulous Resort

Ocean right outside the doors. Long winding pool with many wetbars along the way. More restaurants and bars to choose from. Entertainment bar none. Also a casino on the premises!! Beautiful vrounds to walk along.

Crown Paradise Club: very dissapointed

We have been going to that resort for over twenty years and were always very pleased. The resort was nice, rooms were clean and the food was OK. We went in January of 2017 and it was awful. We were put in a room that had urine on the floor by the toilet the beige black out drapes were black where people pull the drapes to close them. The snack bar had the same food everyday, no variety. They use to make burgers fresh at the snack bar but now they make them ahead of time and put them in the  [... read more]buns so by the time the snack bar opens the buns are dried out and the meat is cold. My husband who is not a picky eater ate spaghetti 8 out of the 10 days we were there. It appears that the money they used for the renovations was taken from the food and staffing budget. It makes me sad to say that after twenty some years of going there we won't be going back.

Samba Vallarta: Smallish intimate resort 😊

The grounds were always tidy and clean, very well looked after. The dining area was also kept very clean, food well presented and never a shortage! The Mecican and Italian ala care restaurants were outstanding. The waiters and bartenders were extremely attentive and always smiling. My 2nd year at Samba and I plan to return next year!

Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills: Very quiet but relaxing

We stayed at the Grand Direness Matlai Hills resort at the beginning of December. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful!!! It's a very small resort so the buffett is small, there isn't a lot of organized activities & there isn't much nightlife at the resort itself. The staff was all very friendly & the grounds are very well kept...our bathroom smelled a bit like sewage but we didn't hang out there all day anyways. Just closed the door & kept the fan on as much as possible. Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Beautiful Resort!

Very nice resort but too far from the city. There was also a really strong sewer odor in all the elevators. The staff were helpful but couldn't speak English very well. The concierge was always trying to sell us the resort credits. To top it off, my husband sprained his ankle going into the ocean. There should be signs up alerting the people to be careful going in because of bumpy sand when entering. Hotel was nice enough to lend us a wheelchair for the remainder of our stay. Riu Emerald Bay: Wonderful Vacation at Riu Emerald Bay Mazatlan.

We just got back from a week's stay at the Riu Emerald Bay. Check in was fast and easy, our room was great on the 12th floor. Every room is Ocean View and the views really are spectacular. The main buffet was amazing, one of the best buffets we have come across in an all inclusive. The Asian Restaurant was also very good. We did not like the Mexican Restaurant and were very disappointed in it but we did give it a try. The lunch buffet was very repetitive but we certainly didn't starve. The b [... read more]each was kept very clean and you could walk for miles on it, we were fortunate to be there when all the sea turtles were hatching. The pools were nice but a little on the cool side, wish they had been heated. The staff were great and very eager to get you anything you needed. High five to Pedro our fantastic waiter who always went above and beyond. We took a cab to Walmart to buy our Duty Free, much cheaper there than at the Airport. Then continued on into town to look around the flea market, cathedral and the cliff divers. Spent a great afternoon checking everything out. We would highly recommend this hotel and would return ourselves.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Great resort

The hotel accommodated our large group of 15 people at both breakfast and dinner allowing us to sit at the table for the majority of our meals. They cooked up fish and all the trimmings from fish that were caught by a couple of guys in our group. Great presentation and very nicely cooked. Any issues that were very minor were dealt with fast. They could use face cloths in the bathrooms and the beds are very hard but if you request a foamy for your bed they will provide one. We love this resort close to shopping beach and other restaurants if wanted.

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: OK if you don't expect too much

A small hotel with a big ego. Having been coming here for more than 20 years, I have seen multiple changes for what started out as a smaller, neighborly family resort. It is now a 3 level (as in class distinction) hotel, with a good feel, but not like it once was. It's my pet beef that is appearing more often as time and the financial scene changes. I suppose everyone likes the almighty dollar and this place is no exception. For another USD 44/day each, one can upgrade to the 7th floor and exper [... read more]ience a supposedly better stay than the ordinary Joe boy on the bottom 6. That is unless you wish to be a First club member and opt for a membership (Used to be time share, but now that's a taboo word) which will get you a bigger room with sea view and balcony and access to the previously available to all "Adult Pool." All that aside, the "traveller class" (That's you and me, booking through our friendly travel agent such as Trip Central) can experience comfortable rooms and a nice pool with amenities available to all. A better beach than most on this stretch of NV, and food to die for. Go see Carlos in the Lobby bar, he remembers me well, he started here 20 years ago and has learned how to make a proper Marguerita. The Beach bar is gone now and replaced by a sterile Pool Bar, "Las Olas" which means the waves bar. I guess you can now wave goodbye to the camaraderie that used to exist in the old bar that is still pictured in the literature, and that lures many to at least investigate the new Occidental. Never mind, the bar staff know their business, Moises and Sebastian and Felix are pleasant enough, but there's no atmosphere for conversation like there used to be. There's a new partially covered terrace attached to the pool. The loungers there face the beach and you can watch the ocean through the newly planted Palm tree forest. Don't expect chairs, there's only 3 that I could count and they are a disputed item. So if you have difficulty getting up and down off the loungers, then better bring your own wheelchair or canvas camping chair. (Hmm now that's a thought that didn't occur to me then.) The Adult pool is no longer an item. They have barred access to the plebs and seeing as privileged children are using it, I see no advantage anyway. (The washrooms are too far for children) I loved the food at all the restaurants. I may be a pleb, but I knows my grub. The Buffet isn't just a trough where you can load your plate to the brim multiple times. You can choose a very well prepared meal, if you know how to plate it. I'm sure everyone has watched those shows. However, the wine is a little wanting. Go A la Carte if you wish. My favorite was the brand new Tokyo Restaurant, which, if you are privileged, and know your 3 R's, is a Japanese food restaurant. A good menu, well prepared food and well worth 2 visits. Or the Italian restaurant with it's brand of Steak and Pasta, Calamari (one legged Octopus) Shrimp. O, the Tiramisu, yes the TIRAMISU. We didn't try the Mexican restaurant, but were regulars at the lunch time snack bar/restaurant which served up a different soup every day. If you wished you could go gourmet fries there too. I couldn't say much about the entertainment, as I made my own, but Sunday is Karaoki night and lots of fun. The room we stayed in was adequate, the iron mattress was fine but sleep was sparse. There is a fridge for beer and soft drinks and room for your insulin. I had them replace the soft drinks with more water. The safe is easy to operate and I suppose difficult to break into. The bathroom /shower didn't come with a fan, so bring some matches. O, yes, If we craned our necks, we could see the ocean behind the Hard rock Hotel next door, otherwise the fine view of the Mexican Restaurant kitchen back door was enticing. Would I go back again? The whole population of Nuevo Vallarta would miss me if I didn't. I HAVE to go back.

Royal Solaris: Good economic family resort

My family of five with children ages 4 9and 12 went to this resort just before Christmas. We found the restaurants good. My family especially enjoyed the pizzeria and the sushi bar. The buffets were excellent if you went for the local dishes and good if you went for the other stuff. The kids club in this resort is amazing. The grounds for the kids area are large and the room when they are indoors is very spacious. We don't typically put our kids in the kids club but my children always wanted [... read more] to go. They had a great time and they had both indoor and outdoor opportunities throughout the day. we always chose to go when they were doing water slides or later in the afternoon when they needed a Sunbreak they had a movie. Hotel itself is good.... No a lot to complain about. The biggest problem for me was that the adjoining door between us and the next room had no seal and you could hear absolutely everything. We were lucky to be there during a quiet time. Part of one week we had older neighbours and they were quiet we had a young couple for a few days and I had to bang on the wall so they would be quieter with their exploits and the last two days there was a baby crying and we had to put on a white noise on our phones. It is my largest complaint. We're fortunate to have been there during the downswing. other than that the service is excellent the staff were very attentive around the pool side and at dinner. The kids club staff were fantastic.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Lovely resort

The buildings and grounds are kept immaculately and the staff are absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious whether you were eating at the buffets or a la cartes. We spent most of our time on the adult only beach which was very relaxing and enjoyable. The activities staff on the beach facilitated yoga, stretching, fun games and Spanish classes.

Riu Palace Las Americas: Perfect 10!

This was one of the finest resorts I have ever stayed at. The staff were friendly, never missing a "hola" as I walked passed, the food was amazing with great selection and presentation, the property cleaned to perfection.

Riu Emerald Bay: lots of locals

riu emerald bay is a great resort good food friendly staff the food and drinks change with the amount of local which in any case is a wild bunch of untraind children people complain about the elevators these people have never been in one and think they are at the c n e also very untrained parents food all over the place then complain about the bird crap on their towels there should be two seasons nov. to apr. canadians rest of the year the locals .

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: We enjoyed our stay!

This place has a daily schedule full of activities for kids, adults and/or families. Schedules of daily activities are posted a week at a time so you can make plans. All the pools are great. The restaurants are great. The staff at all levels were great too. The one negative was the concierge on my floor who couldn't understand or get it when we said no to the "time share breakfast." They don't call it a time share but it is! For a 3 year old hotel and a five star rating the room we had was in n [... read more]eed of repairs ( rusting faucets, broken desk top, dirty curtains, broken chunks of wood from doors to furniture and a broken door handle). The TENNIS Pro (HECTOR) was amazing. I participated in the lessons as did my daughter's. We thoroughly enjoyed our lessons and looked forward to them daily. The resort is surrounded my mangroves so there are mosquitoes in the evenings. The beach and sand are great. Swimming in the ocean was fantastic. Resort is located 15 minutes from Cancun Airport and is situated by itself which we enjoyed. This holiday for us was about just relaxing and not running around to and from tourist sites. The spa was also very good.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing Resort

Great resort , great people , great shows, no complaints. Only thing alot of the workers don’t speak English at all. The beach is really nice but the people don’t stop harassing you for massages on the beach. They ask you over 100 x same person. Also the water in the beach there’s a lot of rocks. . Otherwise fantastic.
