Melia Peninsula Varadero: Good value!! Had a great time!

Pros - the beach is amazing, the pool and swim up pool bar is amazing, great selection of drinks and access to drinks/bars, bungalow concept for rooms was really nice and allowed us to walk around and enjoy the weather/scenery, coffee bar and latte’s near main lobby were absolutely amazing!, the nightly bands/singers were pretty good although short sets. The food - breakfast had an awesome spread - omelettes, waffles, pastries, egg station, bacon, etc.- was great. Lunch and dinner were pret [... read more]

Melia Cayo Coco: Great Spot

Easy to get beds round pool. Good service and very friendly staff. Room was good with lots of hot water and good pressure. Food was a bit hit and miss but always plenty to eat. Wasn't too busy which made everything easily available

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: One Half Of Resort Closed

The Luna section is closed due to renovations. Building 5,6,7,8, is not available. This is the more quiet section. Also closed off in this area is the Luna side pool, ice cream parlour, the two A La Carte Restaurants, the smaller lounge/bar, and the snack restaurant. The Pinta eating area on the beach has been completely redone and is now open. The washrooms there have been redone also. At the other end of beach the Nina eating and bar area has been demolished and is just a hole in the ground.  [... read more]

Melia Las Antillas: Needs a bit of help

The beach was amazing. Clean rooms but needs updating. Shower small, toilet didn't always flush, very dull lighting. Food was not great. Pretty much the same things for breakfast lunch and dinner. They ran out if another of things, napkins were toilet paper. Staff needs to stay on top of guests hoarding food in plastic bags. One morning 4 people from the same table took all the buns, cakes, squares and donuts!!! Wifi worked in our room the first 3 days then nothing.

Staff was so friendly. Clean resort and the best was the snorkeling on the reef. Truly great vacation!! The food was okay. You have to do the out restaurants in the resort to get more variety of food. Overall I recommend this resort

Melia Jardines del Rey: This hotel was open one month ago...if we consider a mark between 1 to 10 then our mark is 7...0, then our mark

The problem we have it was with Tripcentral, we book the tickets but forget to check the medical assurance...and Cuban authorities asked for travel assurance in their forms...we asked Tripcenatral and they said they cannot do anything after we book the tickets! We took assurances from our company La Personelle... Thereafter, when we book from Sunwings the tickets online, they asked us to pay for the cabin luggage 50 dollars and we did...at the airport we told Sunwings that Tripcentral told us t [... read more]

Paradisus Los Cayos: A lot to desire

This is definitely not a 5 star hotel. I would give it more like 3.5 stars, and that would be a bit too much. The Pros: The beach, Cuban coffee, the weather (lucky us!). The Cons: The price we paid for this hotel was not worth it. Food was no where close to a five star. Not even for one day we had deserts, except ice cream. Cleanliness was missing. Rooms were smelling of smoke, pool water was not cleaned even once. Broken glass in the pool and the beach bar area. Even after letting [... read more]

Melia Cayo Coco: Very comfortable, and absolute clean

Intimate space and on the smaller scale.... not far walks to enjoy all the amenities. Gorgeous white beach with plenty of seating. Pool very comfortable. dining mediocre, not enough variety but recession causes this. My room dated and needed re fresh. Evening entertainment terrible and repetitive. Not enough Cuban live music to be found. Love that Canadian currency is accepted.... bring lots of 5 bills and a roll or loonies and toonies. Major expenses use credit card. very quiet and rela [... read more]

Tryp Cayo Coco: Very friendly staff

This resort had probably the most friendliest staff I have ever encountered… the food was poor and very limited However the al a cartes we’re very good and they gave you however much you wanted . Although I wouldn’t recommend this resort to anyone I myself would go back more prepared just because of staff and how eager they were to please you

Melia Las Americas: A nice resort BUT

Assessing whether to ever go back. Had to move rooms (not till the next day) as the room overlooked a balcony and nothing else. WiFi never ever worked in either room but only in the lobby. Went for the golf vacation and as it turned out the golf carts were burned in a maintenance shack fire. The first day we had to carry our bags. Following days the resort managed to borrow carts but would only give one cart for each foursome…so two had to walk. The 3rd day our cart actually caught fire. [... read more]

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great Resort

Everyone from the groundkeepers , the maids, the management ,the waiters and waitresses and the bartenders (Orestes&Yolexis)were great. They always had a smile on their faces. The food was good, no complaints! They are starting to add more flavor or spices to the food. This is a country that is doing the best they can with what they can get their hands on . Remember you are going for the sun and fun, you will not starve. With the lack of Tourism, they are focusing only a couple of building [... read more]

Paradisus Los Cayos: Great resort

Nice room, the beach is beautiful, the main swimming pool was a bit small. The bigger swimming pool was a bit far and there was no facilities there. I suppose the hotel provides lots of small pools in front of the accomodations that is why. Fish and shrimps were missing completely . Lack variety of food especially at Lunch and dinner buffet. Staff were very courteous and nice. The night shows were very good and interesting.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Impeccable

Amazing resort, room was specious and very clean. The grounds were kept very clean. The fact that everything was with 5min waking distance was a huge plus . Spa area and services were impeccable, rates for messages, pedi etc are very inexpensive and when booking a service you get access of the spa area, salt water pool, hot tub, private beach . Food , although there was definitely a lack of variety due to Cuba not getting supplies the food that was prepared was extremely good Zero complaints  [... read more]

Melia Las Americas: It was just ok …

This hotel is struggling to recover from the pandemic. This is my second trip here (once before the pandemic) and both times are very different in the experience. Most of the staff are wonderful but some are rude. They lack training. The food was very repititious in the buffet. The Japanese restaurant is good but if you are on a salt reduced diet be careful. The beach and pool are quite good but the pool lacked regular cleaning to remove the sand and other debris that collected day.  [... read more]

Paradisus Los Cayos: Was great to travel after such a long period

The goods: - Hotel was build around 3 years ago, it's very modern. - Arrived at hotel and was upgraded for free to a suit without request. - Complete hotel extremely clean. - Rooms have colorful light show to memorize your eyes. - Staff are so professional and curtious. - Took a massage $27 usa / 1 hour, amazing price and quality. - I returned a second time to Cayo Santa Maria cause they have in my opinion the most beautiful sand beach. - Got free wifi for all guests all week cause h [... read more]

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Restful Holiday

We started off with a Junior Luxury Oceanview suite, however it was very tired and had an odor from being closed up for so long. We were lucky to be able to upgrade to the Royal Service and this did not disappoint! The beach is nice, but nicer beach if you walk down further. Strangely the adult only Royal Service beach is also a public beach that was frequented by local families. Food was ok, we did not starve. You need to go with an open mind and accept pretty much what is presented to you.  [... read more]

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Overall, fine.

The water in room didn't work for a few days. When we tipped the staff they were kind and when we did not, not so much. The food at the buffet was the exact same everyday and none of it good enough to write home about. The restaurants, while appearing quite fancy, had much to be desired. The beach was incredible, the weather was incredible, the rest?.... barely adequate. For the money spent it was okay but I expected more.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Resort had its ups and downs

The resort is old and needs alot of repairs but it's Cuba they do what they can. However the pool was quite dirty not sure how they clean it but the bottom had white film on it. The beach was gorgeous. The rooms were ok. Clean and comfortable.the food tasted good but not much variety. Seemed to be very little on that end and when u pay for vacation you expect good food. Snacks anytime a nice pool and a good beach. The bartenders did not really know much about making drinks except their standard s [... read more]
