Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Horrible resort !

They call this a 5 star resort ? Well upon arrival in the room that was very clean, i opened the mini fridge and this was inside, 1 bottle of water, 1 can of pop, 1 can of beer, REALLY ? This was typical in all rooms ! We knew the beach would be amazing because its Cayo Santa Maria, some of the best beaches in the world. However i found the food a big problem, the buffet restaurant had limited selection for breakfast & dinner, we never ate lunch there. Breakfast was missing many items, orang [... read more]e juice, cereals, yogurt, and i dont know who eats green peppers and other strange things for breakfast. Something made me violently throw up from the buffet for dinner, there was so much oil in the food. The ala-carte restaurants had very small portions and not much selection, also this resort is not a complete all inclusive, half the main course menu was extra and you had pricing on the menu. There was no caned beer at any bars or restaurants until the resort let the LOCAL Cubans stay at the hotel for 2 days, they seemed to take over the resort at the expense of all the tourists making messes everywhere and making our waits for food & drinks longer. The hotel workers were great, nice people, some of the tourists were very rude, mainly the french Canadians.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Feb 8 - 15

we have traveled many times and this is not our first trip to Cuba. We were very pleased with the Beach, room, and especially the service. thanx to Julio at the breakfast buffet . The downside is that the food was not even a 4 star and i know it's Cuba and we have visited in the past, i never went hungry but especially at breakfast to not have enough staff to cook eggs ( 10-20 ) in line always.no potatoes or bacon for the whole week, the only juice was orange tang.( cant live on chicken and past [... read more]a alone ) washrooms as per my wife were always short of TP and the guests were pigs but it needs to be cleaned up. the maid service and mini bar stock was not great we had to ask for water and shampoo on a daily basis and we tipped every where.will likely spend extra to go elsewhere but for a cheaper getaway in the winter it was just ok.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Cant compare this to other Ocean by H10 resorts

Its a nice and very typical Cuba experience. A little worn down resort, service is only good when you tip well and overall hotel layout is a bit weird. If you are looking for a "quick and dirty" vacation option, that's your place. I would suggest adding a bit more money and going to Ocean by H10 in Cancun - a much superior place!

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: The Dhawa, the best so far.

The talk on the beach is "this is the best so far" Its my second time back in 7 trips to Cuba. The grounds are gorgeous and the Premium Ocean Front View, is exactly that . There are still beach chairs and umbrellas at 9:30 am. The staff, is courteous and engaging if you put in an effort. The fridges are stocked daily, and safe is included in the price. I would go back again. Having said that, the 2 things that I can say in the negative, is that I didnt get my king size bed as requested. I know from the past that, when you go back at 9am they tell you to come back again at noon then at 2pm....so I didnt want to ruin my first day there.,I wanted to be on the beach. The second is that our carry on bags were left behind in the lobby. They were the only suitcases in the lobby touching our checked bags. We were the only 2 people in the lobby waiting for our bus that was over an hour late. The checked bags made it on the bus, the 2 matching carry ons were left behind. No follow up plan to get them to us. Not the customer service like here in Canada. Im still waiting for customer service from Hola Sun and Air Transat to get them home to us.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Wonderful vacation

Everything at this resort was perfect. Our fourth time and wont be the last! Staff are friendly and attentive, rooms spotless, beach and pools clean, food amazing! Great place to relax if you want or be as active as you want. Lots of walking or golf cart rides!

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great vacation

This resort was beautiful. The rooms and everywhere actually was super clean. The staff were so friendly. The food....well I know you don't go to Cuba for the food, that being said it wasn't wonderful. It wasn't bad. I feel like they do the best with what they have and they are having trouble getting many items that I feel like they were getting years ago when I was there. So I do recommend this hotel as I feel it's not a hotel problem. Beaches are beautiful .

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Incredible experience!

My family and I recently returned from a one week stay at Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience. The grounds, rooms, and facilities were immaculate and stunning. Shout out to Tatyiana and Humberto for keeping our room so nice for us, and to all the gardeners who gave us fresh coconuts to drink from and who made beautiful toy grasshoppers for my son (talent!). The beach was beautiful, and we had a great time taking a sailboat out one day with Pedro, and learning tennis with a professional tennis player! But our favourite thing to do was hang by the pool - the bartenders/servers were friendly and made delicious drinks. And, the entertainment team (Animacion) brought our experience to the next level - whether water aerobics or dance lessons, etc., we were always having fun! I must give an extra special shout out to David from Animacion who became like family to us while we were there. It was clear David works very hard to keep the guests happy, and he always took time out to come over and chat with us for a few minutes when he saw us. David even took the time to teach my four year old son, Isaiah, soccer and salsa. We've been home for over a week and Isaiah is still talking about David - the first thing he says when anyone asks about our trip to Cuba is "I made a friend named David". David, you are so special and we miss you! Thank you Grand Aston - we will be back!

Paradisus Los Cayos: Great Time in Cuba

The Rooms were nice with comfy beds, nice shower (hot water), clean and bright! The Food was good with made to order omelettes, eggs for breakfast. Lunch at the pool or beach was good with burgers, pizza etc. "Chicken Toast" was the best. Beach was beautiful and staff would go out of there way to set up your chairs with an umbrella so you were in the shade or sun. Tons of drink variety. This was a very good vacation and would recommend this hotel.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Beach and staff are absolutely amazing.

The beach, staff and resort were absolutely amazing. The food and hygiene definitely needed some work. I was there with a group of five from February 8 to February 15th. Three out of the five of us We're extremely sick. There were times when there was no soap or toilet paper in the main washrooms. I could deal with running out of bread, cheese etc however, hygiene is a necessity.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Beautiful beach, but the food is lacking.

As stated above. The beach is spectacular and I spent a lot of time on the beach. That part of the resort scores the highest marks. Clear blue water and smooth sand heading into the water. The resort is starting to show some age. Could be due to the hurricane. Some tiles on the front entrance are chipped off. In my room there were signs of water damage. I saw some paint start to bubble due to water damage. My room felt damp all the time. A lot of food was missing. Never saw a ban [... read more]ana or fench fries of any kind. There was mashed potato that was obviously from powder. At the snack bar there was no pizza or bread one day. The beef is very tough. Not the highest grade of beef. Needless to say I ate a lot of grilled chicken breast meat. Would give this resort 3.5/5. The people working there try their best everyday. You will feel taken care of.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Excellent Resort

We thought this resort rated fairly well, however there are some areas that require attention. Mostly public washrooms on the site ie: pools, theatre. The mens washroom at the pool was closed the entire week we were there, forcing men to use the womens washroom. Lack of toilet paper at all public washrooms. A little extra care and attention to this would go a long way and would not be difficult to fix. Rooms were clean but dated, and could use some TLC. Dining was good, food was average, however, one must keep in mind the country you are in and the different methods a food prep. Very disappointed that, despite several reminders, we were forgotten on checkout morning and were left scambling at 6am to get our luggage to Grand Memories to meet the airport bus. Overall rated at 7 of 10

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Big disappointment

Far from a good experience.Our room was good and the maid was very attentive.The food was the worse we have had at any hotel.Have been to Cuba many times .The staff were very polite but not properly trained.However front desk staff were very rude unlike the bar staff and food servers who were very good under difficult conditions.The pools and beach were very nice but we still will not return. victor and marguerite

Melia Las Dunas: Family vacation at its best.

This was our second time at Meliá las Dunas. Hotel is great. Beach is one of the nicest I’ve been to in the World. Pools are large, clean and fun to be around. Rooms fantastic. Food was above average for our standards. Some times they were out of certain items on the menu but that’s what happens in Cuba. Lastly. The staff were out of this World. Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Beautiful Resort

Everything was great. Rooms were clean. Food was great never starved. Beach was amazing. Lots of places to go snorkelling. Staff very helpful. 24 hour snack bar was great. Will be going back to this resort again.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Beautiful resort, mediocre food!

We absolutely loved the grounds of the Iberostar. It truly felt like paradise. The vegetation throughout the resort was truly breath taking! The beaches were incredible and there was a lot of entertainment during the day by the fitness staff. There was stretching, volleyball, a water work out, dancing and more! The food wasnt the best by any means. The lunch served at the beach was by far our favourite. As for the rooms, they were very well kept and in small little compounds which we loved. It was so quiet! There wasnt much entertainment during the evening. They had a live band maybe every other day in the lobby and a show in the auditorium at 930 every night. Some of the shows were jaw dropping! Other than that, there was no real night life. This is the perfect resort for kicking your feet up and enjoying the beach. We sure did that!

Melia Las Dunas: Great family trip!

We travelled with 3 families; 6 adults and 7 kids, and had the best time. This was our second time at this resort. We were able to get our rooms beside each other which was fantastic for the kids. The grounds were so clean, staff so nice, beautiful beach and pool. We have nothing but good things to say about this resort. We hope we can go back again someday, until next time!

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great Resort

Great week! Staff very welcoming! Beach was incredible, that was the best!! Nice entertainment at the lobby at night! Food was ok .....for Cuba!! The only thing that I can complain about is the booking of « Restaurants à la Carte ». You have to go book every morning and never had the time I wanted so it was always late at night. But we had an awesome week and would probably go back!!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Amazing resort

Amazing time! Will definitely be going back. I went with my daughter, and we met so many new friends. Friends we will keep forever. There is always something to do there. The people that work there make you feel as though you are part of their family. They take very very good care of you. And the beach.........perfection.

The rooms were okay. The staff is very friendly. There was a lot of cigarette butts all around the pool area. The wood on the beds by the pool could be replaced. The snack bars were often out of menu items most of the days. No soap in the bathrooms most of the time. Toilet paper was not replaced quick enough so you always needed to bring your own tissue. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great Time!

The resort was very nice and clean. Food was good and drinks were cold. Would go back again! One of the best resorts I’ve been to in Cuba and we go every year. The wine and cheese were our favourite... we enjoyed every night.
