Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: There's a week of my life I'll never get back .....

I've been to Cuba more than 20 trips, so I'm aware of it's limitations and I've never been disappointed enough to complain about it. We didn't go in the pool after the first day. It was so cloudy you couldn't see the first step. Yuck ! My brothers room, the air conditioning was barely holding on and the smell of mould and mildew were so bad it actually made them sick by the end of the week. We were told "Sorry no beer / no red wine / no sparkling water" on several occasions at 2 differ [... read more]ent bars including the beach. Coffee machine was broken at the 24 hour snack bar so everyone was herded to the lobby where the staff were obviously overwhelmed. It's a shame, the property was lovely and the beach heavenly but I wont be going back to this site.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Good resort

On line the resort has a 4.5 to 5 star review, we have been three many memories resorts including this one, the location is beautiful and grounds are kept clean, beach and ocean very clean , shallow water by the the shore and calm water. We stayed in the Sanctuary section, the rooms are very dated and with some issues and our room had a bid of mold on some walls, bed was very comfortable. Our mini bar at times was not replenished but maids were friendly and did a descent job cleaning the room. F [... read more]ood was very good and service was hit and miss. My main concern was the lack of beach huts in the Sanctuary section, 28 huts for the entire section, this caused major problems as people would leave towels and personal items on chairs over night ( frowned upon ) , I'd would have to go to the beach at 5 30 am to try and get a spot then only find that other guest's would pay the beach person to remove other guest's items to get a spot, this happened to me twice. All around it is an decent resort, if the Memories would up date the rooms and add more beach huts I'd give it a 5 star in the condition it is now I'd give it a 3.5 at best

Resonance Blu Varadero: Pretty Good Trip

First time going to Memories . We went with people that have been over a dozen times . Because of that I think that’s why our vacation was good and it helps the people you go with . Our Room was in the 30 building renovated block . Bed was great , room was clean . Nothing special but a lot of people’s rooms had mold and no updated rooms . We lucked out . Shortage on cups in all bars in the evening couldn’t get a drink if you didn’t save your cup , some alcohol /mix ran out as well. Could never seem to get new beach towels either . But after all this you are in Cuba where there is shortages and you need to expect that . The staff worked quickly to solve any and all problems and treated us like family ! Great selection of food still even with the shortages . Even though it wasn’t perfect we we definitely return . We had a good time despite the little hiccups , but definitely get Diamond club for sure and hope to be in an updated room

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Love this resort!

As always the staff were excellent, the food plentiful and good (for Cuba). Beach is amazing. Room was clean, bed was comfy and ac was strong. By the end of our week the pool was going a bit green, but the ocean was awesome!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Very good resort

We just came from the vacation at Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria in Cuba. Overall the resort was very good, the beach was amazing, the weather was so good. The service was good, very nice people ready to help every time you asked. The food was good especially fish, lobster and other food they offer in the buffet.

Memories Jibacoa: Perfect Paradise

I had such a beautiful week in Memories Jibacoa beach resort in Santa Cruz, Cuba. The staff made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The amount of bars and restaurants never left us short of places to drink and eat, the pool was well maintained and had a spectacular view of the mountains surrounding us. The beach was very clean and well kept and gave us the tropical atmosphere that we were hoping for. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made every effort to answer questions and help us make our stay even more enjoyable. Overall I was Extremely happy with my stay and would definitely consider coming back again!

Grand Memories Santa Maria: First visit in Ciba and the resort also hotel

The hotel is not for 4stars. We were missed of drinking water - we asked three times the reception and reception manager. We spent a lot of pesos to buy water. We gave tips every times for every occasion before to be served and even for asking water. The keys did not worked when we entered. We gave 20 can dol to the gay with electric car because it was night and no pesos for change. The driver wanted tip an then get the money and leaves us to resolve the issus with keys. Memories Jibacoa: Wonderful staff!

All the staff at the resort were amazing!! So kind and accommodating!! They really made my solo stay a very pleasant experience!! I will definitely be going back one day. The nightly entertainment really pleasantly surprise me. There was a themed show every night. A lot went into each and every one - choreography, costume design/makeup and audience interaction!!

Sol Turquesa Beach: Ended up at playa costa verde because momories was closed down

Good week away but that was about it, dead crabs in the pools. Food was the same thing every day no change at all and no variety. Booze selection isnt the greatest everything was just meh other than the rooms and the people which were pretty good.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Resort was ok.

My stay at the Grand Memories will be a memory that I won't forget. For starters the hotel is not a 4 and half star more like a three and a half. The service was alright ,no problems there. The beach was impeccable but could of have more shading . The grounds were nice but too forest look type, the mosquitoes bites reminded you that. They need to up their maintenance such as replace the light bulbs on the paths to and from your room, very dark at night. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: It was not as advertised

The room was good. The sheets were stained and had holes. The bathroom needed upgrading. The water pressure and temperature was great. You get 2 1 litre bottles of water a day...or you're supposed to. We had this on the first day and the rest of the time it was a struggle to get any. Also this is delivered at the end of the day, if they deliver any. The food was good. A lot of seafood however there are a lot of sanitary issues. There's flies in the juices and naturally would also land on the f [... read more]ood and "snacks" they sometimes leave out for you. The food was repetitive. It tasted ok. Staff were ok. Don't be sold on getting a butler service here as though you're going to be extra special because you won't be, so paying extra isn't worth it. Most of the time we ate at the Grand memories buffet. More selection and we had a wonderful sincere server named Rawson who made our time there worthwhile. The butlers however all they do is book your a la carte reservations, get you a cart to go around the place. We should mention Yahniel..hes one of the butlers he's very nice and very helpful. The biggest frustration for us was that no one wants to take any ownership there when you have a request or an issue esp the front desk for sanctuary guests. The beach however was beautiful. Tonnes of jellyfish though and sardines right on the shoreline. We swam w sticks to help us navigate w the jelly fish around. There are a lot of sand fleas that hurt and bite you like crazy. Definitely bring some moskul. Overall, we wouldn't recommend this resort. Definitely nothing more than a 3* and don't pay more than. $800/pp. Use your money somewhere else.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Fabulous holiday

This hotel resort gives amazing value for both adults and families. The staff are so friendly and helpful. There is a nightly professional show in the theatre, daily poolside dancing demonstrations and participation, water aerobics, organized games for children, 3 separate pools, 3 first class dining rooms, a fabulous buffet and 24 hour snack bar. Did I mention the magnificent beach and ocean views! See it all for yourself.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Horrible experience

We actually didn’t get to stay here due to occupancy. We were offered to stay at Playa Costa Verde, which really disappointing. The selection of food was poor , bugs and birds in the buffet area. The beach area was small and lots of rocks to walk over before u reach a sandy area. The rooms were average and a/c didn’t work well. Complained 3 times nothing happened. Alcart was from buffet. The property was nice and maintained. We are at grill ham and cheese sandwich was about the only edible  [... read more]thing to eat. Wish we could’ve stayed at the memories. If we had known this would happen we would have canceled. But with a group of 14 people was hard to rearrange. Airport was totally disorganized going both ways.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Recent Trips to Sanctuary Grand Memories Varadero

Although we had a good time we most likely will not return to this resort. Pros: -private Sanctuary beach was nice, water was lovely -food was good for Cuba standards -most of the staff were very pleasant -sanctuary pool was nice -bed very comfortable -air conditioned lounge was very nice, air conditioning in room good -entertainment in lounge was good -main buffet was good (a la carts so so), a la carte breakfast at Sanctuary - very good, ---drinks in lounge very good, coffee very goo [... read more]d -was able to get shuttle to main Memories when needed Cons we could manage: Balcony door was extremely hard to open Closet doors hard to open Key cards had some difficulties Cons hard to manage: Ladies washroom in Sanctuary lounge was out of service from 2nd day on and is probably still broken. We had to use the one toilet in the men's washroom when it was vacant (not fixing any of the toilets in the Ladies washroom for the whole duration was unacceptable.. Our friends has several problems occur - their toilet had difficulties flushing for 2 days and finally did not flush at all. They went to the butler twice to mention this and twice to the management. After the final visit to management and my friend being very polite but very fed up about this, management FINALLY got the message that she needed a flushing toilet. Other issues they had (could not get into the walk-in shower as door opened in and not out but was able to use the shower in the tub (although for a 65 year old was hard to get in and out). Like us their balcony door and closet doors were hard to open. They had to get their key cards resets at least 3 times and had to go to the main memories front desk as key machine at Sanctuary was broken. Finally last episode someone from Sanctuary management took the cards to the main desk. The last time door to their room had to be fixed as the key cards (and even the maid's card) would not work. They had to wait 3 hours to get into their room. Sanctuary and Memories have a maintenance problem. Things are starting to get run down which is a shame because it is a nice resort. As said before, we had a good time but will most likely not return unless we get a very good price (which by the way many people paid a lot this than we did and some even traveling from out west). We will definitely return to Varadero. This is our second trip there but first time at Sanctuary.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Good resort

The resort is good . Beach is just beautiful. Good snorkeling. We are going back again in April soon. Just because of the embargo from the US these wonderful people are suffering every day Not enough fuel and other supplies to make the resort run 100% but that is their fault . They do everything in their power to make your holiday a success. Love the people of Cuba.

Nice and clean room, good food, friendly entertainment people, good music, good service, all these at Memory Caribe. Disco and dans every night. Go there and see yourself. If you are not happy is your fault...

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great time

The beaches were amazing, the food was better then other resorts in Cuba, the staff was great. I would go to this resort again. Had a fantastic time. The newly renovated rooms were nice the beds were comfortable.

Memories Jibacoa: Exceptional resort in Cuba

The accommodations were very good and well maintained. The three á la carte restaurants were excellent and Le Gourmet restaurant exceptional. The staff all over the resort is very conscientious and helpful, but some are even more attentive than others, friendly, but always professional.

Memories Jibacoa: My piece of heaven in paradise

My most humble and sincere thanks to all the staff at Memories Jibacoa. The perfect home like resort where I am spoiled and pampered on a daily basis. Great staff make for wonderfully clean rooms, many exciting beach activities, superb nightly entertainment and super great meals. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful beach; nice smaller resort

Couple looking for inexpensive last minute vacation; beach was our number 1 priority Pros: Beach (beautiful); nearby small reef for snorkeling (saw many fishes, starfish, ray); beautiful grounds, friendly staff, comfy room and bed; good snack bar, good pizzas at beach; beach with many palapas. Found good food to eat every day; breakfast is good with lots of choices including daily egg station and pancake station. What could improve: paint and décor (lobby does not have wow factor; lack [... read more]ing atmosphere in buffet and some restaurants); missing food some days ( eg no hot dogs at beach since out of bread, no mojitos, no mangoes, no orange juice at buffet). Ran out of clean beach towels for many days due to shortage of fuel causing problems with transport. We don't blame the resort for these as common problem throughout Cuba. Mosquitoes are a problem at sunrise and sunset; they are small and hard to see until they get you; bring repellant and you should be fine. Met nice fun people; relaxed at beautiful beach and spent days in ocean even if weather was not the best that week. ps: renovated bathrooms do not have doors so unless you do not mind sharing your private moments with your travelling companion, you may want to bring a curtain (shower curtain and adjustable rod works).
