Hilton Vallarta Riviera Resort: Fantastic Resort and Staff

Upon arrival walk into beautiful lobby to fantastic view of ocean set the tone for a great vacation. The staff went above and beyond consistently ensuring we had a great experience. Food was great and good selection. Entertainment top notch, not sure why but attendance not the greatest. All I suggest they missed some good shows. Great selection of bars. If you're going for the beach maybe not for you.

Riu Caribe Cancun: Wonderful resort

We stayed here from Nov 22 to Nov 29 and it was absolutely amazing. The Resort itself was very clean inside and out. Great pools and the beach was fantastic. Not huge by any means but very beautiful with incredible sand and water.. The food selection was fantastic and the staff were just as incredible. I would definitely recommend this resort.

Grand Palladium Colonial: Beautiful Mayan

Nothing I am going to write will take away from the beauty of staying at Grand Palladium Colonial ! We booked well in advance to have a second floor room so as to leave our door open at night because we don't do well sleeping in air conditioning , but we were placed on the ground floor even though there were rooms available above us not in use . Our room assignment was made out without anyone looking at it and the person refused to make changes . This was reported to the manager who promised [... read more] to correct everything and look into the matter . Pedro , the front desk manager , offered to move us but four days in we opted to stay where we were rather than have the upheaval !! Our travel agent DID NOT inform us that Sunquest Vacations has no rep on site and therefore we had to make our own plans for excursions etc . I had to e-mail to Sunquest for our pickup times which we finally received only to have the bus run late and we barely made it to Cancun Airport by boarding time !! The beaches were great as always , the food very presentable , nice location on the Mayan Riviera . Not sure about our next vacation as the choices are numerous !! Trips like this are very expensive so please everyone make the traveller your top priority !!!

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great holiday!

I have been to playa del carmen numerous times and this was my first time at this resort. It was fantastic. Plenty of loungers by the beach and a great piano bar with a variety of different musical artists each night. Resort was clean and enjoyed the adult only pool in the el beso section.

Dreams Huatulco: 5 Star resort all around. Amazing and beautiful place.

This is my second time to Dreams Resort, Huatulco and I wouldn't hesitate to return. This is a beautiful hotel, very clean and the service is great. I've been to all the al a carte restaurants and the food is awesome. I love the fact that you don't have to wear a wrist band all week and you don't need reservations for the al a carte restaurants. All the pools are kept very clean and we enjoyed the water aerobics. We also did a little bike tour and learned about the outlying hotels and t [... read more]heir history. We chartered a private boat (through Jesus on the beach) for the 7 bay tour. He was very respectful and a lot of fun. I highly recommend this resort.

Dreams Huatulco: Amazing place to stay!

We spent one week in this paradise. Grounds were lovely and manicured, someone was maintaining the grounds daily. The outdoor beach/pool area was constantly being cleaned by staff. Hotel room was clean, beds were comfortable, good sized rooms. Food at both the buffet and restaurants was top notch. We especially enjoyed the Asian restaurant. Beach craft (kayaks, paddle boards) were in good shape and felt safe. We also took advantage of the bikes. I would suggest that they buy a wrench so  [... read more]that they can adjust seat heights on bikes, but other than that, it was a fun, free excursion. Staff could not be more friendly, helpful, pleasant. And the weather was everything we had hoped for...constant sunshine, about 25 degrees consistently during the day. The day entertainment group was fun but not overbearing. I appreciated the fact that even though this is a family oriented hotel, there were 2 adult pools, one very quiet and one that was more lively.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Good place to recharge your batteries

This was our second time at Iberostar playa mita. From the beginning the hotel stuff made us feel special, VIP even! The room was clean, the fridge was stocked daily with plenty of water, pops and beers. The food in the restaurants was well prepared but a bit salty to our taste. However, with plenty of choices we always found something to enjoy. Our special thanks to chef Aldo who personally cooked my steak for our 38th anniversary! Would be great if the stuff cleaned then early in the morning. Other then that no complaints! We had awesome time and would definitely come back!

Riu Cancun: Beautiful hotel best view!

Hotel was excellent, food and service were great, highly recommend this hotel. Very modern and clean. Every room has ocean view. Hotel location is great, which allowed us to take daily walks in the lively city. Great trip!

Moon Palace The Grand Cancun: Conflicted

This is the resort we got married at this year and went back 6 months later and we love the resort but continue to be disappointed with the customer service. We planned on becoming a member and now we don't think we would return. Every time we go, there is something new under construction that we were not made aware of.

Grand Sunset Princess: Beautiful Hotel

This hotel is so big and beautiful I was amazed! I would strongly recommend it to other travelers! The cleanliness and service of the staff was incredible and made our vacation effortless. Food and amenities were also enjoyable! I can't wait to go back again :) Two thumbs up and five stars in my books.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Nice place

The hotel is clean and well maintained, the beach is very nice. The room was spacious, but had an unpleasant smell, either caused by moisture or by chemicals used for cleaning or may be pest control. Buffet was great, but a la carte restaurants were a little bit below expectation in terms of food choice. Little Creperie and Sansai exceeded them, though.

Dreams Riviera Cancun: Not as great as Expected

Overall the food was good and plentiful. Some of the higher end items from 18 months ago were no longer offered—tomahawk steak and Greygoose as examples. The pool areas are small overall and the infinity pool was partiallly blocked off for renovations which included the swim up bar, one of the restaurants and a set of washrooms that made it very inconvenient. The rooms have an open concept washroom which is not ideal when sharing with older children. Zero privacy. Also beds were doubles and [... read more] not queens which makes sleeping a challenge. The grounds were well kept but it is a smaller resort so in general too confining for us. Overall the staff was great so no complaints there. A lot of better resorts to go to for the money. Will definitely not be back.

Secrets Vallarta Bay: Great Week Away

This hotel is a great spot located very near to Puerto Vallarta downtown. While on the same property as the Now Amber, there is great division between the two and we never saw any children (Secrets is adults only while the Now is for families) in our week's stay there. Food was great with our favorite being the French restaurant. Finally the Preferred Club bar has great top shelf liquor with great service. Thanks for the great week Secrets!

El Dorado Royale: Five Star all the way

I was blown away at the quality of the made to order gourmet food. The Canadian Beef Culinary food was bare none the best we have ever experienced at a resort. The staff were friendly and attentive. Loved that the resort has their own greenhouses. Rooms were lovely and we were surprised for our 30th Anniversary with Champagne, a sign on our door and roses petals on our bed. Dreams Huatulco: Dreams Huatulco Review

This will be my first time reviewing a vacation and I hope to give my honest impression of my trip. We were travelling in a group of 4 adults and had initially intended on staying at Secrets Huatulco. As I had booked the trip less than 2 weeks out I found that the Secrets was not available but Dreams was and opted for that resort. The resort was located approximately 20 minutes from the airport and the process from landing to arriving at the resort took 1 hour. I will say that this was our 4th t [... read more]rip to Mexico within the last year so comparing it to other resorts was still fresh in my mind. HOTEL Well maintained and very clean with workers constantly working to ensure things were kept that way. The grounds were manicured nicely and the layout of the resort was easy to navigate. There were 2 infinity pools( 1 adult, 1 family) overlooking the beach and bay of which the view was beautiful. There were also 3 other pools located throughout the resort. ROOMS Clean and spacious with no issues to speak about. Our bathroom had a large stand up shower with rainfall showerhead. I found the bed very comfortable and the bar and room was replenished daily. Of note make sure that the balcony sliding door is fully closed or the AC will shut off. FOOD I found the food to be OK to good depending on which meal I was eating. Breakfast was standard fare ,omelet's ,eggs various meats and the such which I had no problems. We typically ate lunch at the Seaside buffet which overlooked the beach and Bay. The food was fresh and tasty typically with various seafood, chicken, meats, salads ,soups etc. Dinner options were rotating a la carte restaurants being open on different nights as well as the nightly buffet. You could find which restaurants were available that day by reading the TV screens located throughout the resorts at various points. I ate at the Italian restaurant twice and found that to be a pleasing experience with excellent food. The dinner buffet I found to be OK with nothing fancy but more than enough to enjoy. I would say that overall the food experience was good but not exceptional. SERVICE This stood out at this resort. Having stayed previously at 3 other 4.5 to 5 star resorts in Mexico this year, the pool and beach service exceeded the other experiences. Whether sitting on the beach or by the pool servers worked tirelessly to ensure you always had what you required. It seemed that at least every 15 minutes someone was there asking what you needed no matter where you were located. Every server was excellent but forgive me as I cant recollect everyone's name. Erik, Miguel, Iselda (I think) were a few who made this experience memorable. The beach was beautiful with warm and reasonably calm waters excellent for swimming and enjoying paddleboards, kayaks ,etc. which were free of charge. I also enjoyed being able to walk to excellent nearby restaurants to eat and watch football. Trip to town was 43 pesos in cab and I enjoyed being able to walk around and eat ,drink and listen to music in a safe smaller town setting. Having been to Cozumel. Puerto Vallarta, Cancun and the Mayan I think for me this is one of the nicest areas in Mexico and will definitely be back. I would highly recommend Dreams ( and especially Huatulco) to anyone thinking of travelling to Mexico.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Beautiful Resort

The resort was stunning and clean and gorgeous! The selection at the buffets was perfect! The weather was perfect. My husband rented a jet ski and went kayaking and on a bicycle tour. Very relaxing.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Beautiful resort

Super layout - you never got lost. Our room was great with very good service and a beautiful view from our balcony. The resort itself was very well design and very clean. There was always chairs available around the swimming pools. Lots of activities around the pools. The restaurants and the food was fabulous - no reservation made it nice.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Amazing Resort

This resort is beautiful, the room was very clean and the staff was beyond amazing!!!! I loved the fact that there was so much to do on the beach for activities! Highly recommend this place!! We can't wait to visit again !

Breathless Riviera Cancun: Top notch resort for a solo getaway ***with a caveat - see below

Beautiful resort, amazing service, great food, yummy drinks. The only issue I had was the noise level and not having a clear understanding of the different types of resort rooms and areas. So let me help you out... Excelerate Area - this is considered the party zone. I knew this ahead of time and made sure I didn't book in this area. Allure - I booked my room in the Allure zone thinking I would be no where near excelerate. Once I got to the resort, I realized that one side of allure ma [... read more]kes up the U shape of the excelerate area. My beautiful, corner ocean front suite was right above the DJ booth. After talking to the Front Desk, I decided to move rooms (sad to lose my corner suite but more than happy to have some peace and not hear the Techno beat that starts at 9 am). Xhale - This area is considered the quiet zone (and it is quiet) but comes at a premium cost. I could have switched over to this area for an additional $150 USD/night. I travelled on my own and felt safe in the resort and beach areas. Security is posted at either end of the beach to monitor activities and resort guests (no bracelets, so nice). I met a lot of wonderful people from all over – mostly Canadians, Americans and some Europeans. Due to north winds and the lagoons nearby, the ocean was not the usual turquoise that the Mayan Riveria is known for, it was dark and wavy. Not sure how long this will persist but it was about the same for the 7 days of my stay (Nov 11-18)

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Not a 5 star resort

**Our entire party of 7 has been sick since returning. One of us ended up in urgent care and was diagnosed with Giardiasis which is a one cell parasite from contaminated food. Two weeks of being violently ill and time off work and now on antibiotics. ** returned Nov.13th from a week long vacation. Rooms were run down and needed repairs, our phones didn’t work. One room had a ceiling that caved from water and they had a small flood in the room. They accidentally deactivated our keys early an [... read more]d after a day at the pool with small children and a journey to our room we couldn’t get in. Royal golden only gets you bath robes and a free safe. Our villa was far from everything. We asked to move and were told they were full. Tipped cleaning and fridge refill everyday and had to call and ask for more water all the time. We saw housekeeping washing the glasses in the room with a cloth and tap water. We never received new cups. We booked this resort for the family atmosphere, kids splash park and kids club. The splash park was closed during our stay and when I took my son to the kids club one day I was told it wasn’t available to us as we weren’t privelage guests. A a lot of rowdy drunk guests during our stay. Someone was trying to get in my room at 11pm. There was one big fight in the pool and security and police had to be called.
