Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Left a lot to be desired

Stay: dec 17-24, 2016. Food selection: good. Dolce Vita was very buggy restaurant, bugs flying around. La Brisa was very good especially at Breakfast (excellent omelette bar) Beach: left a lot to be desired. Sand fleas ate our feet and legs and whole bodies. Public merchants always hounding when got close to Playa Indiana. Staff: very friendly. Evening Circus show was INCREDIBLE! Best show of the week by far. Mini golf/Tennis area: smelled of sewage frequently but sweet mini putt course. [... read more] Site: pretty great. Large property, could walk for a long time without going in the same area, well maintained. Overall I wouldn't go back because I am huge in to snorkelling and there really wasn't much clear calm water for a reef or to see anything the resort is on the north side of the island in the Atlantic Ocean which is rarely calm. But sun was good and comfy lounge chairs on the beach were pretty good.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Great resort! December 15-22, 2016

The resort was very nice. The staff was always friendly and willing to help if you needed it. We had a top level suite and the view was awesome! We were also in the middle of the resort so it was only 5 minutes to the beach and about 10 to the lobby (walking). We had an amazing experience and we would definitely go back.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Great Week

The grounds were amazing. From lush greenery, orchids, flamingos and peacocks walking throughout the resort as well as lots of palm trees and umbrellas of you wanted shade. Beach was very clean, although lots of wind that week so couldn't swim away far from shore. Meals were good with unlimited alacarte and no reservations required. Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Good experience

The beach was bad because Dominicain Republic had floods the week before. There were many waves and you could not see ocean floor. Food was good! I enjoyed the japonese restaurant the best because it was very entertaining.

Riu Republica: Exceptional place to stay!

The resort is so clean and the staff have exceptional attention to detail! The grounds are well groomed and pools are very clean and perfect temperature. The food was so tasty - there wasn't anything that wasn't good, which is rare. The red wine was the only complaint that I had. i make homemade wine thta is better than whta the hotel had to offer.

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Beautiful

My mom and I loved it, only problem was with electricity in the room, but everything else was perfect, we'll go back! The service on the beach can be improved. The buffette was so good, drinks are good.

Excellence Punta Cana: Amazing Resort

We visited the Excellence a long time ago , 17 years ago ,when it was associated with Secrets . We loved it then and we were not disappointed years later. The Excellence brand is a favourite . The club service makes the vacation special.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Amazing resort!!!

Amazing people, amazing food and facilities!!!! All personel including Air canada staff were amazing. Best all inclusive ever. Respectful and friendly guests too :) amazing service. Thank- you Jennifer for recommending Samana and the Bahia principe el portillo!

Sunscape Puerto Plata: PUERTO PLAT SUNCAPE TRIP DEC/16

Our trip to Sunscape Puerto Plata was a good one Hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly. The only negative would be the service in the Buffet (Windows) We ate at the restaurants for dinner which were very nice during our stay as we thought the buffet could have been better. Over all we would suggest this resort to everyone. There were plenty of activities going on each day from the entertainment group.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Fantastic

We have traveled to over 15 different all inclusive resorts and Dreams is the best! The food was outstanding the beds were comfortable and the grounds and pool immaculate. I would highly recommend Dreams Punta Cana.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Disappointing!

The food was excellent!! Wifi was available around the pool area and in rooms close to the pool. The beach was rougher than I expected and not clear so snorkeling was unproductive. The "sellers" gave you no rest from their pestering so one could never relax. Our room was beautiful looking but musty smelling and dripping with condensation. Our luggage and clothes were covered in mold after our two week stay. Hotel personnel did nothing to fix the problem. I think they were overbooked.

Punta Cana Princess: Amazing Vacation

Great quiet adults only hotel. If you want excitement you can go to the sister resorts on property. Staff here are top notch. They would go above and beyond for their guests. I would go back next time I go to Punta Cana

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Family trip

Well not our favorite resort. Buffets were closed from 10am-1pm and 3pm-7pm so not very accommodating for families. The pool side snack bar food was not very good. We arrived at 3:15 so the only place to eat was the snack bar they had no plates or cups and hardly any food. You needed to return your pool towel or you had to pay $20 each towel so you had to make sure no one stole your towel (someone took one of ours at the pool) wasn't a fan of babysitting the towels. A la carts not anything to write home about. beach wasn't good for off beach snorkeling something we were hoping to do. Waterpark was a little bit far from the resort but if you plan to stay for a few hours it's not too bad. Not ideal resort for someone who has limited walking mobility as there is a fair bit of walking and no carts to drive people around other than the "members" time share people. Vendors were really pushy putting jewelry on you even if you say no then won't let you leave without buying something. Of course you need to just be firm and say no or walk away. We realized the route to take to avoid them. The pros LOVED the room large and high ceilings made it feel very open. A/C seemed to stop getting cold every 3 days but one call they would come and it would be nice and cold again, grounds were really nice and well kept, they had a fair amount of activities we liked, their was a show called dance party (I think) that was a really good show we enjoyed all the moves. The coconut party was so funny the whole family enjoyed it. Air transat rep Juan Pablo was really nice and helpful. We had a great time despite all the negative feed back I gave and the time went by a little too fast. Every vacay we learn a little more of what is really important to us. How can you not enjoy being on the beach or at the pool with no chores. Worth the amount we paid for our family of 4

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Awesome resort!

This was one of the best places we've stayed at. The room's were spotless, grounds well taken care of, food was good, (seafood night was my favorite) the Don Pablo restaurant highly recommend, service was top notch - they were all very attentive and you being happy seemed to be their top priority.

Just returned last night. Best resort ever! Room #222 ~ beautiful view of the sea! Travelled with another couple. Room was beautiful. Staff were all warm & friendly. Food was great. 24 hr. butler service! We only used it for softer pillows & scented oils that they burn in your room each night, if requested. Our friends used it for room service ( meal brought in - breakfast ). No fee! We tipped. cleaning staff were excellent , kept fridge filled with the same items each day. Pop, water, beer- Dos [... read more] Equis! mini bottles of rum, vodka & scotch. two bags of potatoe chips! they also turned the bed down two evenings with chocolates on the bed , linens on the floor to wipe your feet before bed! ( this is while we were at dinner ). We liked the Don Pablo Restaurant. Never tried the other two . We were happy with the buffet. This resort is small and quaint. never a line for anything! I think there was a total of 134 people at the resort when we were there. There was always evening shows, we never made one! In bed by 10 ... Tons of chairs by the pool and beach... "saving" chairs wasn't needed!!! Tons of sitting spots. Beach was nice. Not huge. If you like long walks...not going to happen. Lots of rock cliffs. Servers were great, not alot of english. .. but kind. YOU NEVER SAW FIGHTING FOR ATTENTION OR TIPS, they appear to share what ever is given. If you are looking for a party, this is not the place. It is quiet. It was exactly what we wanted... spend the days by the pool reading, laughing and drinking! we were ready for bed by ten! all adult... so quiet.. no loud music playing at the pool. The activity staff were fun... but not in your face. Bingo, golf putting, horse shoes on the beach ...dance lessons. ( if... you wanted!) older crowd (50+).. a few young couples! teenagers would be bored! two small shops... absolutely no vendors come on resort. Very private & secure. The wine is excellent ( both red & white ) & I am a wine drinker. ( finer wines if you want to purchase ) many premium alcohols.. kahluha..absolute vodka, grand marnier... draft beer ~ presidente. I could go on & on ... we will return next year. One thing we forgot ... bug spray ! & use it! We all got a few bites here and there. If you do not like stairs or have bad knees... not the place for you...it is one hour & 8 minutes from the airport to the resort... Go ... we have travelled many times ... this was our favourite so far ...

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Mixed Feelings

What to say about a resort that truly is set in a tropical paradise? The LUXURY Bahia Principe Ambar Blue was a mix of good and very bad..I feel that it really does not deserve the adjective of Luxury except in the proximity of this section of the massive resort, to the beach. It was indeed a luxury not to have to take a shuttle every day to the beach. The rooms were what should be expected from a good hotel chain, except for the overlying smell of mold and mildew which I am sure was not help [... read more]ed by the flooding of our bathroom and Bedroom by a plumbing problem in the suite above ours in the late hours of the night. No one was sent to clean up and we spent the rest of the night with water dripping on our heads as we used the facilities. The food was, well I may as well say it, YUCKIE!!!! No fresh juices, the coffee overbrewed (maybe that is why the cups are so terribly small), eggs over easy was not a term that was recognized, requests for featured dinner items were met with uncomprehending looks. Most staff tried to be helpful but on average they were so rushed that many orders were returned 2 or 3 times. Ambar Blue is an Adults only facility but when you close the pool bar at 5, that designation was simply unjustified. The entertainment area was small and could not accomodate the guests who wanted to participate. So would I go back to this hotel? Not a chance. The Grand Bahia Principe chain has sadly (for me) lost a formerly satisfied guest.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: GREAT RESORT

The hotel staff were friendly and very efficient when you required service.Staying as a single adult i was not impressed with the Disco ( Sorry what DISCO may be 10 persons ) that has too change along with too many people bugging you to buy stuff on the beach The food was the best i have tried in a while and i mean good , not one complaint from this guy , Dynamite, full service with a smile. Occidental Caribe: Great place

This is our second stay here in the same year. The food was great the service was awesome. The beach is by far my favourite place. This time around our room was above the buffet which was a little loud with the dishes rattling at 5am but the view somewhat made up for it. Always a good time thank you occidental caribe see you again soon

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Not bad

Good 3 star resort. Room 1046 had great air conditioning with mini fridge and obstructed (palm trees) ocean view. Most amenities are close to the nice small private beach. Food is edible, but repetitive with limited selection. Located right in Sosua. Hookers and guys "that can get everything" abound.

Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Fantastic resort

Good food, rooms great, staff very helpful and courteous. Only negative comment is WestJet rep. Was not there for presentation. Waited 30 minutes but he never came. Called him third day and he sais he would come in 10 minutes but he never came. Day before departure, we wanted to confirm our pick-up but he wasn't answering his phone. We had to ask the hotel to call him the morning of departure. Really bad experience with him.
