Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Meh

Clean resort, nice grounds, great water park, lots of entertainment. Food sub par and guest services/amenities were over promised and under delivered. They say they have cribs (and they do) but they can’t guarantee them. Our stroller was damaged by the airline and we needed to rent a stroller. Guest services gave ZERO information on rental options and did not have any insight to support us. Since it was last minute I couldn’t find any rentals online and I couldn’t get one delivered from wal mart [... read more]. My in-laws were diamond club and had a butler. They asked the butler for help and the butler literally arranged with their external pharmacy right away for us to have a rental stroller and it was delivered within the hour. This type of perk should NOT be reserved for diamond club in my opinion. This was a total turn off.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Another lovely stay!

Our family has stayed at this hotel a few times now and we come back for many reasons. We enjoy the elevated experience and food in the buffets and the a la carte restaurants. The nice aspect of this resort is that you don't have any limits to how often you eat at the restaurants or have to wait in lines to book a reservation. The staff are lovely and overly helpful. The bars are well stocked and efficient. The beach is not as nice as we have enjoyed elsewhere due to the size and the rocky cond [... read more]itions, but it is still enjoyable for beach lovers. The concierge, front desk and valets are outstanding. We had assistance when needed for my Mom and her walker and people were consistently accommodating. Sadly the weather was very unseasonably cold, rainy and overcast for our trip. So the only complaint is that we are disappointed there are no English speaking movie stations on the TVs. There are 4 English stations, 2 of them are news stations and the other two are CBS and NBC with local programming from Florida and other places. There needs to be something done to add in English movie channels like other hotels have available. We spent a lot of time in the room due to weather and that would have been helpful. Grateful for the hotel helping get the same room as past trips as my senior knew the paths for ease and safety and she was much more comfortable not trying out a new location. We think this hotel is a good fit for us...just not the weather this trip!

El Dorado Casitas Royale: Excellent choice

We really enjoyed the hotel, food, and hotel grounds. This was the first time we stayed at a property where dinner was by reservation only, and we LOVED it. If you prefer buffet style, this is not the hotel for you.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great potential, failed to deliver

Pros: the grounds and wildlife were so awesome. Fun activities and the cenote was awesome. Waterslides were great. Cons: everything else. POOR service. Long line ups for the bar and no serving staff for drinks. Usually around 10-20 people in line at any given time. A LA carte booking system is ridiculous. You have to attempt to refresh at midnight and fight over who can click the 6 open spots fastest. Impossible to get food late at night. Waiting times of 1+ hours to get the server to acknow [... read more]ledge you, and another hour to get food. He would literally just ignore you and walk away if he didn't want to serve you yet. Only one place to get food, and no room service. Hot water in our room was sporadic. We had more cold showers than warm despite "maintenance fixing it" The bar in the waterslide area was "closed"(permanently??!), so in order to get an alcoholic beverage you had to walk about 5-8 mins each way. Every single member of our party got either food poisoning or gastroenteritis. Talking to others at the resort there were a LOT of people with the same experience.

Grand Sunset Princess: Sewage pumped into Ocean

The hotel was well staffed and the grounds maintained. There was signs of aging but being well maintained. We spent our dinners at the Ala carte restaurants all very different and delicious, very pleasant entertaining and great staff at each. the only complaint I have is enormous and beyond disgusting. The biggest reason for our vacation to an ocean front resort is to float in the ocean and swim snorkel... instead the first day we noticed nothing alive in the ocean in front of the resort and the [... read more]n swam so disgustingly close to three pipes spewing sewage into the ocean. this is happening inside a swimming area right in front of the life guard tower. I have since googled it to find other complaints. I also looked up and saved multiple drone videos showing the spew in the ocean. I have read the many excuses and can tell you that I know its sewage because we got to close. I feel completely disgusted and ripped off of an ocean front vacation as it is implied beach means swimming in the ocean.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Time

The hotel is about 50 mins to 1hr 10mins from Tulum Airport. We stayed at bldg 24A and were close to lobby, a la carte and buffet restaurants. Secondary pool, no entertainment, was right beside us which we liked as quiet and relaxing and lots of chairs to choose from around the pool. The beach is a 10-15mins walk or a short golf cart ride away. Look for the white/blue chairs on beach beside the small dock. Food was great for us, but everyone has different tastes. We did the Mashua Nikkei, Le Gourmet and Mikado a la carte and they were all delicious in my opinion. Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Would not recommend

Honestly, don't go here. The customer service is beyond horrible. The resort is pretty clean, but overall experience wasn't great. We went for my brothers 40th birthday, and the first day we arrived they said they would provide him with a complimentary cake and champagne on his actual birthday. They never did this. So I went back to customer service and politely told them they didn't bring the cake and champagne, and now that his birthday had passed there was no need to do it but I wanted them  [... read more]to know they dropped the ball. The man apologized and said he would make sure they delivered the cake and champagne the following night - guess what? They forgot again. The people working there are not helpful, a little rude. The cleaning staff is nice. Our room was clean but when we first arrived there was not a single towel in our room, or garbage can, the remote's batteries were dead, no steamer in the steamer basket. I called and they brought me all the items (except the steamer, we never got this) but not a good first impression. The app is horrible, so good luck trying to make dinner reservations. It's always missing certain activities on the app, but we would walk by the main pool and see something going on, but it wasn't listed in the app. Anyway, overall I'm glad my brother had a good time but I wouldn't go back to this resort.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Not bad… Not great

Shuttles are tricky with this very large resort. No schedule at the stops, so it’s hit or miss. Food was lukewarm at best most of the time at the buffets. A la cartes were very good. Staff are incredibly nice and efficient. Lots of chairs at pools and beach. Never a problem there. Jacuzzi in our room was stained dirty. No amount of cleaning would fix it. Refused to use it. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Beautiful resort!

This resort is beautiful maintained landscape. The pool is very clean and the staff are always there to make sure no glasses or garbage are laying around. There are always many available chairs around the pool which provide sun or shade. The only complaint that I have is that it is quite a walk to the beach. If you have small children or mobility issues you must take the trolley. If you are looking for a wide sandy beach this is not the place for you. Once in the water you better have wat [... read more]er shoes. It is rocky and uneven. Since it is almost always rough, you cannot see the bottom to look where you are stepping.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Amazing Resort

This resort is amazing. Very clean, afforadable, staff is friendly and will assist with your stay any way they can. Entertainment is top notch. Kid friend. Beach is beautiful. Pools are amazing. This is our 2nd time here and we are going back next year.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Sandos Caracol Eco Family Resort

Arriving to the resort was organized & efficient, Rooms were clean, but shelving was non existent in our room. The adults only reception was a pleasant place to go for coffee, drinks & treats. The “hot tub” wasn’t heated, it was jacuzzi style. We experienced rain a few days $ the thatched roof needed repair in many areas of the resort. A jr suite to my mind has a king bed, a couch, table, chairs. Our room had 2 queen beds, 1 chair & a desk. Being able to watch my grandkids at the water park was a treat & they were repairing & painting in the area to keep it fresh & fun.,Food at every restaurant was fabulous, the reservations not accommodating- after midnight - the day of. For our group of 12 it took coordination! Marco Diaz & Jose Rico from guest services were exceptional!!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Fabulous holiday!

This hotel was amazing. 1. The food at the buffet was surprisingly good. I never put much stock in buffets, but the ones we attended had lots of variety. Wait staff were terrific - especially Julio and Monika at the main buffet. 2. The grounds were beautiful. They are very well maintained and tidy. We were able to walk for several kilometers each day. 3. Our rooms were perfect. Cleaning and towel replacement was well done each day (thanks Manuela!!) Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: Great family vacation!

We had a great time. There is plenty to do at this resort. The food was good, we liked the break wall at the beaches for the kids safety, multiple pool options, vibe city and the water park were great! The kids loved seeing some of the wild life around the resort. The staff were friendly. My only complaint would be the room. It was small for a family and no sitting area. We did request a higher floor level through trip central but ended up on the ground floor. We had a few nights of bad sleep with people hanging out in the hallways in the open air entry by our room. It might be a trip central thing but we also let them know we were celebrating birthdays while there one being my son but no ribbon on the door like we seen throughout the resort on other doors. The teppanyaki place was the best. My kids loved sitting at the grill and trying to catch food in their mouth. Thankfully they came around and asked if there were any celebrations so my son was surprised with a cupcake and candle. My husband loved going to the rock band experience. I did the hydrotherapy at the spa which was amazing. Overall a great vacation! We will be back to the Hard Rock

Viva Maya by Wyndham: Avoid!

We were put in what I describe as a dorm room the first night. If they try to out you in 3100, refuse. Beach is good, food is nothing special.Way too many kids running around. For the price, expected more in ambiance, not much to do there. I wouldn’t go back.

Catalonia Yucatan: Reasonable

The resort is aging but well maintained staff are friendly, however reception manages are not so helpful, they ignore your request to address a loyal client situation. Apparently the adjacent resort is no longer managed as previously. Reducing flexibility to share overall resort

Grand Oasis Riviera: Amazing Resort

Clean, safe on resort ,food was spectacular Staff were courteous and well able to communicate in English. The beach walk was a daily thing trying to get enough steps and wear off some calories from all the food. Very limited entertainment. No evening programs except when the guest do the singing.

Siente Tulum: Great resort

When we arrived the bus passed by the hotel and didn’t find it . The hotel is not well identity. The sign outside said ♥️Tulum Not, Siente Tulum. ITS was an amazing hotel, great staff, great food, very clean and modern. We will miss everyone there and we will be back soon! Close too the city, close to the national park The roof top is Simply amazing, Meet many amazing people Looking forward to going back very soon

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Don’t waste your money or time

I was really hoping this would be a great place to go despite all the negative reviews. Well wrong!! The reviews are bang on. I thought pre booking our room in the Diamond Club area and trying to stay clear of the negative feedback I was hearing would be good! Wrong!! After paying 100$ US to pre book our room, we waited to leave for our 2 week vacation. We finally arrive and the airport was a breeze so yay!! We get to the hotel and arrive in our room building 6 only to listen to the grinding an [... read more]d welding of the metal structure right beside us. We listen to this for 3 days with no end in sight. We listened to it all hours. We finally asked to be moved and they accommodate us to building 4 and OMG the smell!! It was coming out of the shower drain and all you could smell was something I would compare to cat pee or animal pee. The more the shower was on the stronger the smell. We asked to move to another room and they let us see the room above us only to go inside and run the shower and BANG!! There is the smell. The manger of the resort came to the room and you could see by the look on his face that he can smell it as well. There is a definite problem with this resort. Not to forget to mention the gas lighting for time shares and how they want you to attend the presentation and then you will get your hotel credits to use. The Royalton app only works when they want it to work!! I thought all the reviews could be wrong but they are not!! Please check your reviews before booking this resort. The food was good but this resort is very busy. Thank goodness for our waiter at the Hunter steak house, we had a reservation every night. We made sure we made it worth his time to save us a time slot for dinner every night. He was amazing. We opted not to use the butlers that were assigned for us as they were not helpful to us at all. We paid the fridge stock staff to keep up with the coffee pods as they would only give 1 or 2 a day. So he would stock up for us and we tipped him well. There was so many staff there trying to sell time shares or trying to get you to go to the presentation. I wanted to be at a resort with my spouse for some R & R since we work hard and saved a long time to go to this resort. I will not ever return to this place. Don’t waste your time or your money here. Pick a different place. Also the Hideaway side had the same smell! We are not picky people. We just wanted a place to relax!!

Grand Sunset Princess: Lovely resort

This is a very big resort but it's very well managed. The whole place is spotless, rooms, pools, and restaurants. The grounds are pristine. Service in all areas was excellent. Only one small thing my wife didn't like was the rocks at the beginning of the ocean at the beach. It wasn't a big deal and It does clear up further in but better to take water shoes. Beach was beautiful and there were always plenty of chairs available there and at the pools. We had a great time.
