Memories Jibacoa: Extremely disappointed

We have been there ten times and was great when it was Breezes Jibacoa. Since it has changed to Memories it started going down hill. This time was the worst. Have no fault with the staff, room, cleanliness of entire resort. The beach is terrible, the food was a struggle the entire time with cold food that was supposed to be hot and cold food was lukewarm.Thank heavens for the specialty restaurants although the portions were tiny. Everyone was complaining about everything. They have cut out a lot [... read more] of stuff that we enjoyed like Oktoberfest, theme nights and fun games by the pool.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing resort but

The grounds are beautiful and very well kept, the beach is amazing. Every one of the staff I interacted with could not have been nicer or more helpful.The food has improved a lot since I was last in Cuba the specialty restaurants were a real surprise, great food presented well. Now the down side, the mosquitoes and flies are enough to drive you crazy and no amount of bug spray kept them away, my room was on the first floor and the mouldy smell was strong even the drying crystals I brought to hel [... read more]p with the damp didn’t work. I have heard that those rooms were flooded to the ceiling a few years ago. Would love to return l liked the small size of the resort but they need to have some bug control.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: very nice.small resort that we were looking for

this resort was very clean nice rooms but no bathroom door(inconvenient)My patio door was locked from the top of the door, and im to short to unlock it. The Floors at the resort are very slippery when wet . Food was ok in buffet ,, the special restrants were great,

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: A family friendly resort

This is our third time at the resort. The beach has been greatly improved since our first visit 6 years ago. What used to be the downside of the hotel is now it’s best attraction. The food was typical Cuban fare. The waitstaff were attentive at the buffet, snack bar and the creole a la cart. Our family booked two rooms as we are a family of five with small children. We only used one room as the bathroom in one of the rooms was not working properly. The manager called us after our third n [... read more]ight to offer us an upgrade as they noticed we were only using one room. We were moved to building 2 on the ground floor just steps away from the beach and diamond beach bar. The family suit upgrade was an unexpected and very thoughtful gesture on the part of the hotel. The shows were more guest participation and we noticed many shows we were used to were missing. Regardless the Michael Jackson show was still on and still really good. The guest participation shows were pretty funny and got people engaged. Overall we had a great time and would go back a fourth time if we are able to get the same family suit again. We’ve been spoiled.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Ok

The grounds were clean and well maintained. The rooms were exactly like the photos. Lots of hot water and pressure in the shower. Service was lacking. The bars and restaurants always running out of mix, pop and alcohol. No bar in the room. No pop in the room after multiply requests. Plenty of food but over cooked. Lack of entertainment. If you are looking to go on excursions cross your fingers. We tried to book 3 and all were cancelled. Our safe was broken into and $330. Was stolen Will never  [... read more]go back.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Memories Closed

Memories Holguin beach resort closed . Was switched to Coste Verde last minute. The good : people ,beach ,reef was nice surprise if you u swim out far enough , food was pretty good for Cuba, lots of choices. The bad: pool dated cracked Broken tiles, lots of bugs ( fleas in pool). Diamond club means nothing . Didn't get the rum , the robe or EXTRA perks .. but for the time we went and the price we paid it was a great deal !

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Not what we had in mind

This hotel offers a lot to be desired unfortunately it’s not able to hold its end of the deal...from rooms that aren’t clean, to food served room temperature, to hearing “no” when asking for a coffee. The beach and grounds are beautiful unfortunately there’s an inability to cater to people efficiently and to the standard they claim. We’ve never heard so many “no’s” to requests from asking for a coffee, asking for clean blanket to asking for a later check out.

Grand Memories Punta Cana: It gets better and better every time

The hotel has been renovated from the last time we went there ( 4 years ago). But the highlight was the service, every single employee made us feel like home. Service was great, the hotel is big, specially when you want to the beach, however they made sure there is enough carts on a constant basis if you are not up to the walk. The weather was bad for 2 days, it rain every day however there was always something going on that we didn't felt like 2 days were wasted. That is what it makes this hotel so good.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great resort

We visited this hotel in September.Regardless of end of season,service were exellent. We stayed in a old style,but really clean room ,king size bed and a nice view. (Air conditioning worked well and quietly.) Food was ok. Lots of variety, especially fish( and cheese. ) As I mentioned earlier,service were great. Workers always smiling and beeing really friendly and helpful. Resonance Blu Varadero: Memories varadero

Not impressed at all. We have been there 5 times and to see the hotel in the state it is now is unbelieveable Mold in the rooms. No clean beach towels all week. No shower curtains or even a place to hang the towels in the shower to dry. I do understand that it was only about 40% occupied but still The food was the same every day did not matter if on the beach or in the cafeteria. Resonance Blu Varadero: Manicure land scapping resort

My only complaint is the food Nice presentation of the various food bars and food trays However they don't know how to cook various pieces of meat and the hot table are NEVER hot A la carte restos let to be desire except Italian resto Most of the 10 days I was there, I had sever dearia and I am still sick after being back 72 hours. I lostb10 pounds!!!

I personally think I expected more because the way it was described in the website it was not like that but I enjoy the Royalton hotels more then grand memories I like the service the pool and the rooms was amazing but the food was not ok

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful beaches

Memories Carine is a beautiful hotel situated on a spectacular beach. Two bars, buffet and restaurants were nicely air conditioned. However the property is on a island full of swamps and mosquitoes. Bug spray could not control the infestation. With exception of the grill areas food was room temp. No doors on our bathroom was an annoyance. If I had to to hear another Celine Dion song I will scream. Suggest more island music.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Amazing family resort !

We’re a family with a 5 year old daughter and she absolutely loved it. From the check in and walking around the whole resort and being able to jump into any of the pools. The stuffs and the vibeteam were very friendly and she loved the daily activities at the pool and also nightly shows. Her favourite has been the Michael Jackson show. She cried when we had to check and We will definitely be back one day! The food was great, she’s a picky eater but there was so much variety , we didn’t hav [... read more]e to worry. I have no negative. It rain early afternoon but she even loved that we swam in the rain ! We went to the beach as well, very beautiful but had to hold on to her because of the waves. Many pools and space ! Only down side was my hubby wish we were able to walk into the local town because he loves to culturally sightsee but it’s a distant to drive or walk into town.

Lovely property. Well maintained by groundskeepers. Great layout. Beach and pool were large, beautiful and lots of chairs and shade when required. Rooms were large but odd choices made by designer. No chest of drawers so really you live out of your suitcase. Rooms are really dark. Need more lighting. No toilet paper holder or hooks to hang wet suits in the bathroom. And really who DOESN'T have a door on the bathroom!!! Just WEIRD. Food was good but would have been great if it was hot. Even when [... read more] it just came out of the kitchen it was still like warm. Bugs were out 24/7 especially first thing in the morning and just after dinner. Everyone got bit big time.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Not what I expected

Overall hotel Is very nice but the food was horrible. We dread eating the food there and ended up upgrading to the royalton and the food there was just as same except under the sea and the zen was really good. Everything else was not good food was dry or over cooked looked like they used some of the meats from The night before. The maids who came to clean our rooms Did a good job cleaning but after the second day we didn’t recieve hand towels or face towels we had to call everyday to get them. Memories Jibacoa: Jibacoa

Upon arriving at the hotel I do not think people were greeted properly. I had also gotten diamond club daily which was not explained properly upon arrival which led to some confusion. The grounds and location of this resort are beautiful and nicely taken care of. Some other things they need to change are the pool closing at 7 pm which is ridiculous and lack of daytime interaction with guests. The food overall for Cuba was average and the beach was spectacular.

Grand Memories Varadero: Solo Female Traveller

First off, I had a great time in Varadero from Sept 20 to 27. Great time that I befriended lots of friendly Canadians. I am not at all impressed with the buffet in Grand Memories. I was ignored by the servers and they would wait on the tables around me, and not me. I had to look for them and ask for coffee and drinks. Wish they had coffee there, so I can just get it myself. I strongly recommend that place - good food and service. The Cuban a la carte had great service too but my friend got sick from the shrimp cocktail. The mayonnaise tasted funny and must have gone bad. The main lobby bar and the cafe place were great. I enjoyed their coffee and service there. I gave them tips and gifts for their service. My room was decent. I am sure that my bed sheets were changed once only. They also topped up the fridge once with a couple of pops. Doubt they ever swept the floor. I gave them gifts every day. Might be better if I upgraded to Diamond package or the Sanctuary. I have been to Cuba 6 times and had stayed in different resorts. For a 4 star resort, a 3 star resort scores better in all areas.
