Divi Little Bay Beach Resort: We will return!

Very quaint and relaxing resort. We will return. One troubling situation is the small space two parrots are living in. The space is so small they fought and it needs to be at least two or three times the size.

Plaza Beach Resort Bonaire: Plaza Beach Resort Bonaire

My husband and I stayed at The Plaza in Bonaire, March 12th-27th. While overall, we had an enjoyable vacation, there were some issues with the hotel. We booked a Grand Suite Ocean room and requested a room on the upper level. We booked in December and as our vacation wasn’t until mid-March and as we were returning guests, we assumed that this could be accommodated. When we arrived, we were given a room on the ground floor and told there were no upper level rooms available. The next day, we  [... read more]went back to the front desk and they were able to switch to us to a room on the upper level. The room was large, but it had a number of issues - holes in the ceiling, a strip torn off the bathroom vanity and a sink with no water in the small bathroom with the toilet. The prices charged by WestJet for this package are prices for a 5 star, not a 3 star like the Plaza. It is clear that The Plaza is the process of upgrading, but they are not there yet. We stayed The Plaza in 2019, for half the price, which would be more in line for a property in its current condition. The food at the resort was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly for the most part. The new restaurant, bar and pool are all very nice. Snorkelling off the beach was fantastic and there was never an issue getting a chair on the beach. The hotel advertises activities like yoga and pool aerobics. While the yoga was very good, the pool aerobics did not happen, no one showed up to teach it half the time. If the resort is going to advertise these activities (info in the welcome package and staff coming around on the beach promoting them), they should actually run the activities. The information sheet in the welcome package also advertised a beach BBQ on Wednesday nights and this did not happen. When we inquired about it, we were told that the beach BBQs had been discontinued when the new restaurant opened in December. Given that it was now mid-March, we suggested that they should update the information in the welcome package. When I returned home, I discovered 2 charges on my credit card from The Plaza, for purchases that I did not make, for a total of approximately $200 Canadian. It took several emails from me to the hotel and two weeks for the charges to be refunded. I was not provided with an explanation of what the charges were for or how they were made to my credit card - I had cleared our hotel bill of any outstanding charges the day before we left and the hotel confirmed this. The Plaza is one of the few all-inclusive resorts on Bonaire. Bonaire is a beautiful island and the snorkelling and diving off the beach at the Plaza are fantastic. My husband dove with the Toucan Dive Shop, located on the resort and he found them to be a first class dive shop, with excellent dive masters. All things considered, however, we will likely not be staying at The Plaza, unless the prices for the package drop considerably.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Sunscape Curacao Resort

Starting withTammy who was wonderful. She gave all the information we needed in good time and even remembered the coupon for park and fly that we used. We had a great time there….the staff were all courteous and accommodating. There was always plenty to eat and drink! No rain until the last day when we were leaving for only 10 or 15 minutes. It was very warm all week and lots to do. Great entertainment nightly!

Secrets St. Martin: Terrible Resort !!

The resort is scheduled to be closed at the end of April for renovations so they let thing go. We had no knowledge of this nor did the other guests -- The Pool was green and not working they advertise this to be the biggest Infinity pool in the Caribbean what a JOKE !!- Really sad it was slimy and green full with algae !! They where running out of inventory ( Alcohol and Food ) Only half the staff where working if that, But I must say the staff that where working did their best to keep the g [... read more]uests happy it was very difficult for them! Restaurants where limited and on a Saturday nite only the buffet was available!! Many guests had a Big cockroach infestation in their rooms!! We have been to all the couples Resorts and a handful of the Sandals resorts thinking we would have a similar experience boy where we wrong! - Secrets St Martin does not even come close to them!! My advise save your money do not go!!

Divi Little Bay Beach Resort: Amazing Vacation

This was the best vacation resort we have visited. The room was spacious, and clean. Our room was at the opposite end of the resort as the bar and restaurants, which was perfect as we like it quieter. Even though it was close to the Infinity pool, it was tranquil, with little noise. This pool was perfect for us, as it was not very busy. There were other pools, but they seemed busier, which might be perfect for some people. The restaurants offered a variety of choices. Our plan only included brea [... read more]kfast, which was exactly what we wanted. The choices were plentiful and well prepared. The beach area was amazing. Snorkelling was great right there, and the beach was clean, and not too crowded. We cannot say enough good words about the staff. Everyone we met was friendly, very competent, and went out of their way to provide excellent client services. It was our favourite vacation location so far and we plan to return.

Sonesta Maho Beach: Great friendly resort

The food was great in the buffet but the restaurant that should have served the steak on lava rock was on first day closed and then was turned into a Mexican restaurant. They said it was now to be a Mexican restaurant. Also they stated on website that the beach was right there. That’s not so you have to walk about a mile to the beach. I think the resort should offer a shuttle bus to the beach for guests. The hotel should provide a paper map of the grounds and location of the restaurants and the [... read more] events. The people were very friendly and helpful.A great place for kids. The weather was superb. The space for the karaoke should have been better as was very limited space to sit.

Mangrove Beach Corendon Curacao: Mangrove resort

I have been to curacao quite a few times and this was my first time at the mangrove. My honest opinion I would give this a 3 star rating.we were on the ground floor and used our key to go through a patio door and had to move the curtains to get into our room. Rooms are dark no exhaust fan in the bathroom. Which made all our clothes very damp. Housekeeping was hit and miss. The beach is very rocky . They didn't rake the beach the whole week. Buffet food was cold and even the soup. The Italian re [... read more]staurant was very slow. Sat for half and hour and didn't even serve a drink. After waiting for 45 minutes we walked out .poor service. Barbecue restaurant had limited times for reservations 530pm or 900pm . Moat of the staff were miserable it seemed like they didn't want to be there.. Would not return to this resort. Would rather stay at the sunscape which is older or the dreams

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Lovely Resort!

The resort is very nice. Our first room was 7113, smells like septic but we had a new room two days later. Much better! The Oceanic Restaurant was fantastic! Good food and awesome staff. Italian was also good.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Great Vacation at Sunscape Curacao

We have just returned from a lovely week spent at SUNSCAPE CURAÇAO. Staff were amazing, kind helpful, personable. Special shout-out to KERRION ( day restaurant manager). She was amazing! Also special shout-out to Bryan ( bartender), happy single guy. Food was excellent, no complaints in that department. Room was large, clean and provided everything we needed during the week. Beach swimming was perfect, snorkeling even better. We did not spend time at the pools as water was so inviting. We sta [... read more]yed in buildings # 7, A/C worked fine, cold fridge, ocean view with Oceana restaurant right outside our door for drinks, etc. Entertainment was good. Mangrove Beach Corendon Curacao: great resort great food

beautiful ocean view room fantastic food (lacks some variety) great drinks and pool overlooking ocean awesome for kids and families with waterslide park and regular kid activities Willemstad 15min walk or 2min cab ride away - great location of a resort!

Sonesta Maho Beach: Over priced

Great location, nice staff and food. Resort is dated,needs a lot of updating. Bathrooms mouldy and rooms are old and dark looking with sunk in matresses. Pool area too small to accommodate the amount of guests and needs a lot of repairs

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Aging poorly

The hotel is showing its age, many maintenance issues, broken or poorly working features. Food is bland and lacks verity and flavour. Staff is friendly and nice but overworked as the hotel is clearly understaffed. Issues during my stay went unresolved until the second to last day when management stepped in. Wifi was not working, coffee machine in exclusive section not working, AC in room barely working (couldn’t keep room below 25c even at night). Many restaurants closed, dance bar closed, the l [... read more]ist goes on. The beach is well protected and calm, great for kids and safe but no lifeguards. Also bring water shoes as there is an abundance of coral in the sand. The explorers club (for kids) is fantastic and was the best part for my children. The kids enjoyed everything but the adults are left dissatisfied.

Sandals Royal Curacao: Sandals Royal Curaçao

Before I start on the vacation, I want to give some appreciation to our TripCentral rep, Beth. She is personable, professional and polite. She had been to the resort as an agent but told me SRC is her next vacation location. Our booking went very smoothly and Beth was able to confirm room availability through her ACVacations contact so we were able to secure our second choice. SRCuracao was our first trip to a Sandals resort as well as our first time to Curacao. The island is beautiful (we too [... read more]k a day long private tour and saw it all). The weather was superb 35C every day and comfortable 27C nights. SRC is a top notch resort. The food was gourmet quality at most of the restaurants (special mentions are Vincent’s, Butch’s, Zuka). The three food trucks had so many great choices that you would have to stay for weeks to try all their dishes. The grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept. The four pools are at the perfect temperature and cleanliness. The staff make the resort very pleasant. Great choice for our vacation.

Sonesta Ocean Point Resort: Great Location / Great Resort

#1 is the service, smiles and thank you go a long way with the staff. #2 location, minutes from airport, right in town #3 food is similar to 5 star resorts Only downfall is the airport, we got very lucky going through but other travellers waited for over 2.5 hours (mostly issues with luggage, to many planes for the what they can handle)

Sonesta Maho Beach: Disappointing

The room booked was an Island view. This room turned out to be street-side. The rooftop bar and club opened at 10pm and ran until 4:30am or later every night. The music pounded and blared so that no sleeping was possible. The resort was not only not helpful but disrespectful. They said that was the room you booked and handed us earplugs. There was no notice on the website about the noise nor any warning from our travel agent. Clearly this is known to the resort. Other couple were in the s [... read more]ame situation. There is also almost no beach. The current is too strong to swim and it is too narrow to enjoy. As such it becomes a pool resort. Pool gets the two stars. There is very little to no entertainment unless you want to go to the all night roof top club or the little casino. The island is beautiful and there are many other locations that would have been much better. The food was overall good but not sufficient to make up for the other negatives.

Secrets St. Martin: Such a special resort!

I've just returned from a week at Secrets St. Martin and I would head right back tomorrow. After reading some reviews I was wary, but Secrets exceeded ALL my expectations. We traveled for my partner's 40th birthday and the resort went out of their way to help celebrate his special day. Our room was lovely and the cleaning staff did a thorough job each day cleaning and restocking anything we needed. The staff were all warm and friendly, going above and beyond to help with anything we needed, espe [... read more]cially the lobby staff. Alicia, the bartender at the lobby bar made great drinks and was a pleasure to chat with each day. The pool is outstanding with space for everyone. And the beach is beautiful, private and wonderful for daily swims. Lots of tropical fish to enjoy. All of the a la carte restaurants were a nice experience with no reservations needed (aside from the Teppanyaki restaurant, which is well worth it), tasty food and great ambiance. The buffet was a little underwhelming, but we only ate there at breakfast. We enjoyed the pool side buffet at lunch much more. The location is removed from some of the other bigger towns and cities on the island, which can be a positive if you're looking for relaxing. There's hiking trails close by as well as jet ski rentals (recommend renting from the marina at Island Jet rather than from the beach), and many excursions from the resort. A taxi to Grand Case cost about $13/person. There's also a number of shops just beside the resort that were fun to wander through. I could go on, but overall, I would highly recommend a trip to Secrets St Martin.

Acoya Curacao Resort Villas and Spa: Good Resort

This hotel is a good bargain for the price, the room was nicely setup. The hotel staff was pleasant and helpful. The pool was clean and good for a dip or to hang out by. Cant speak much to the food as we only ate one meal here. Our one meal was good. We used this hotel as a 'homebase' for our vacation. We rented a car and went out every day. The location works well for this, only a few minutes away from Willemstad and some beaches. I would recommend this hotel and Curacao is just an am [... read more]azing island in general! Sonesta Maho Beach: SADLY WONT RETURN!

Second time at this resort as loved it 1st time. Found staff quite unfriendly and not helpful it was actually hard to get their attention if you had a question! I understand that tourism is the only game in town for employment but for goodness sake at least acknowledge people and pretend you like your job especially given that tips are involved! There was a norovirus at resort the week we were there soooo many sick guests (probably 70%) based on Facebook posts and general talk at the resort. A  [... read more]great number of guests ate off site as a little concerned about food heigene at the resort as virus was revving up during the week. Not the point of going to an all-inclusive to feel safer eating off site! Not sure if resort took this as seriously as they could for eg. Hand sanitizer stations often empty. Know many people who in good faith won't return or recommend.

Mangrove Beach Corendon Curacao: Great resort

We received a free upgrade to an ocean front view room upon check-in. The room was spacious, good storage, clean and had a very comfortable bed. The full sized toiletries in the bathroom was a nice surprise. The resort was overall very clean and the staff worked hard. Great selection of food at the buffet, & lots of drinks to choose from. The favourite was the smoothie bar frozen smoothies & alcoholic drinks. The biggest negative of this resort would have to be that the entire property allows s [... read more]moking, and EVERYBODY smokes here & isn’t respectful of non smokers and second hand smoke. No matter where you sat outside or at the pool everybody was smoking and you constantly smelled cigarettes due to all the ashtrays readily available. As a non-smoker & allergic to cigarettes/gets migraines, this was a major downfall and I wish they had a smokers section, or a smoke free section. Water slides were fun. Short 10 minute walk to downtown. Overall the only complaint was the cigarettes being allowed everywhere.

La Plantation: Lovely Resort

The hotel was perfect. Friendly staff and close to Orient Beach. We enjoyed it because it had a deck with a table and chairs. We ate our lunch on the deck. Breakfast was fabulous. Fruit, coffee, cereal, croissants and hot food.
