Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Short and kinda sweet…

Solo traveler looking for something easy. I did have a quick stay and honestly, kinda grateful. The beach is stunnnnnnning and very well maintained, just be prepared to fight for your chair. They are all gone well before 8:30 AM. The walk to the lobby is a walk, be prepared. I checked in late and there wasn’t an anyone to show me to my room. With multiple trips back to the lobby bc I was lost and couldn’t access the door, I was exhausted lol. Room was ok, but definitely needed cleaning! I do tra [... read more]vel with my own sheets and thank god lol. The hot tub on the balcony was disgusting and I didn’t use it. Food was ok, didn’t travel for the food so the reviews were right, it’s hit or miss depending where you eat. Honestly - the sun and weather made up for everything else and the peace and quiet of my quick getaway was so needed.

Occidental Tucancun: Poor

Too many,many stairs , the ocean was with red flags all10 days that we were there I didn’t go to the ocean not even one day, and to books the al la cart it was at 7.00 in the morning you had to be there at 6.30 in the morning to get a reservation because they is only 4 restaurants I don’t Recommend this resort

Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: BARCELO Puerta Vallarta

This resort is a lovely place. It is not an overly large resort, which is what we had hoped for. It is beachfront on a bay at Mismaloya. It is a 25 minute drive south of Centro PV. Fifty minutes from PVR airport. There are 3 or 4 pools including a children's pool with a built-in slide. Some staff do recreational programs in the pool area. Leading aqua fit and some games. Table tennis and large chess set by the pool. We had a deluxe suite 700 sq.feet. It was very spacious with kin [... read more]g-size bed, large walk-in shower, small sitting room plus bedroom with couch, dresser, dining table and two chairs. There is a large balcony with view of pools and ocean. There are only a few other resorts around it but there are no other facilities outside the resort. A large buffet dining room overlooks the beach and ocean, plus 3 theme restaurants ( all included in the price). We found all the staff friendly and attentive. The weather was perfect 28 degrees C average. We enjoyed our stay at Barcelo PV very much.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Beautiful resort with so much to do

We travelled as a group of 5, 2 rooms. We upgraded to premium upon arrival, which we felt was worth it. We were able to get dinner reservations at all of the à la cartes we wanted, though they were mostly at 9 pm. The food at all of the buffets and restaurants was exceptional, we enjoyed snorkeling and seeing the turtles and had the great fortune of seeing the monkeys 2 mornings. The grounds were beautifully kept and we found all staff to be really wonderful and friendly.

Occidental Cozumel: NOT a 5-star

Off the top, I have to say that the service team at this hotel ( speaking only of the servers that worked the buffets, pool bars and entertainment team) were wonderful! Unfortunately, that was the best part of the resort. Upon our arrival, the check-in was a terrible experience. We booked a deluxe double room (two beds - in fact, our entire group of 8 each booked the same, so 4 rooms). They gave us each, except for one room, a king size bed. Anytime we asked for assistance or directions during the week, we were greeted with a grunt and a chin jab by the same girl. ROOM - Fine when all is said except cleanliness - the cleaning staff do not have an attention to detail one would expect from a 5-star resort. FOOD - NOT GOOD. I have traveled through Mexico extensively over the last 15 years and stayed anywhere from 3 to 5 star resorts...mainly 5-star over the last 4 years, the food was 3.5 stars at best and they do not take major allergies into consideration. One of our friends has a seafood allergy and had to keep asking for special accommodation which they could not always grant. The a la carte restaurants were difficult to get a table at and the food was always served lukewarm or even cold. Oh, and don't expect a balcony unless you are lucky enough to be assigned to the building closest to the beach...or upgrade to the royal level (I'm just assuming that they have their own block of rooms woth balconies). I have never stayed anywhere in Mexico that did not have a balcony - I know - first world problems but there you have it. For what we paid, which worked out the same as what I paid at Secrets Maroma just 4 months prior, I expected the same level of service and accommodations. I could go on but what I have commented on are the key components that can make or break the customer experience.

Occidental Tamarindo: Amazing resort

The resort is old but it is maintained well the staff do an exelant job their and the beach is amazing . You feel safe their food is great people are great ! Pool is clean and if their is any problem at all it would be only to bars you might have to wait in line for a drink sometimes .

Royal Hideaway Playacar: Lovely Resort

The Royal Hideaway was probably the most beautiful resort we have ever been to. The grounds were meticulously cared for. The rooms were beautiful. We had three in our room and had lots of space with the bedroom a dressing room and the bathroom. We were on the ground floor and had a lovely patio which we used quite often. The resort was a nice size to get around. The two main pools are not that big but did the trick. There is one cool pool and one warm pool. However, we could not resist b [... read more]eing on the most beautiful beach on the Yucatan. It was spectacular!! Long walks in the morning were great. The hotel did a really good job picking up the sargasim in the mornings. Now the food. Not good. Very small buffet that after 10 days got very boring. The restaurant reservation system is a nightmare!! Had a very hard time getting reservations before 9 pm until we got the manager involved. We can only think they were having labour problems as whenever you did get seated early the restaurant wasn't even half full. So, if you are willing to put up with this frustration than I would say it is a fabulous resort.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Going back

Will absolutely return, which is the best recommendation I can think of. Trip Central's Monique, was a great help with the booking to help put our minds at ease by answering all our questions so we could enjoy our trip.

Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Good all around All inclusive

Firstly the area and property of the resort and its surroundings is beautiful with mountains and jungle. The resort itself is very clean and about a 45-1hour drive from the airport. The staff is very pleasant and aim to please, David and Moses were stand outs. The reins are very large and more than you will ever need. T [... read more]he resort buffet for breakfast was great, like most resorts the buffet was mediocre for lunch and dinner. The lunch shack with tacos and plate lunch was good and the À la Carter’s were good. This is a quieter resort with not much to do at night. The pools and wether we’re perfect. The beach was small and the bay has a ton of boats, not the nicest but it did the job. I would recommend this resort to others overall. I would rate this resort a 4 out of 5

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Barceló

We enjoyed our stay at the Barcelo The food was awesome and we enjoyed the à la carts. Our room was kept very clean but we had difficulty adjusting the air conditioner and found the sheets very damp due to the excess humidity. We did not enjoy the towel game. There were not enough loungers available due to people from other areas ie Tropical etc using the beach front in front of the Colonial The staff was excellent

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Great Resort!

We had a great week. Beautiful sunny week with nice temperatures. Lots of fun doing activities on resort and one outing with Transat. The staff were nice and a special thanks to Armin Morales for making our week by greeting us in the mornings with a beautiful smile and just having us laugh which made a great way to start a day. The room was okay but the bathroom can be renovated. The food was delicious. All in all we had a great week!! Monique & Brian.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Wonderful vacation

The grounds, rooms, restaurants are all super well maintained. Service was excellent and the friendly welcoming staff added much to our stay. Lots of sargassum on the beach but that is beyond the resort’s control. They worked very hard to remove it.

Allegro Cozumel: Amazing resort!

This resort is not a five star but definitely a 4.5 star. Food can be improved! You can always find something to eat,repetitive menu for buffet! The resort grounds and rooms are beautiful. By far the beach is the best and very good snorkeling! The entertainment staff kept the vibe going for sure! Many games were played and shows were seen! Thank you Allegro for an amazing holiday! Carnival week was a hit!

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Absolutely amazing Resort

We loved everything about this resort. We were fortunate enough to be put in The Colonial section (Jalisco Bldg). I can’t even think of anything negative to write. After 10 days I guess the buffets felt a bit repetitive.. but that being said you never went hungry and could always find something you liked. No one likes a hot soup on a hot day but their home made daily soups were amazing. Barcelo Maya Colonial: What an Amazing Resort

This trip was booked by my daughter for them and there two girls and both sets of grandparents. I read reviews about it before leaving and was not sure what to expect. But upon arrival it was a beautiful sight to see from check in to check out, we were met with the most kindness and polite people I have ever met including the grounds keepers. the resort is beautiful and very big I have never been to a resort with such big pools and beautiful surroundings. Occidental Caribe: Beautiful Beach

While this hotel is very large and the staff are wonderful, there is areas of the hotel that are run down. We had issues in our room the first night with water dripping from the ceiling in the washroom. We were moved to another room after many trips of going to the front desk and complaining. It was only when I spoke to a butler named Juan Carlos that we actually were moved to another room. He is the one that did everything possible to make our stay amazing. The grab bars in the elevator were protruding out of the wall and one night it actually got ripped off and it was hung there for a day before someone actually removed it leaving two gaping metal holes on the wall. Food was amazing. A huge selection. I had to get up early to save beach chairs if I wanted some as they got taken up early. There is a lot though. But I stay here again? For the price probably not. If I got a good deal maybe yes. Another issue we ran into was my husband and I both got very sick 3 days before our trip was over. We ended up with a respiratory illness. With the amount of people touching the same utensils in the buffet, it's bound to happen. I would much prefer the food being served so only one person touches the utensils. I know higher end resorts have this way of doing things.

Allegro Cozumel: Beautiful resort

Loved this resort. The beach is great with a beautiful candy bottom and the waves were very calm especially for our grandchildren. The kids pool was amazing .The food was good and the japanese restaurant was so much fun. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Our room was good and stocked daily with water, beer and soft drinks. We'll be back for sure!

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Good resort, enjoyed out time.

This is our second time going to the Barcelo Mayan resort as we were there in 2018 for the Luke Bryan Crash My Playa and it hasn't changed much since. The resort is kept clean and maintained to a certain point but the more you look the more you see broken or well used items. As it is such a huge resort the maps available in the resort or online are terrible, you can easily get turned around or lost and also having multiple staff tell you a particular restaurant or place in the resort was totally [... read more] incorrect and have you running around getting frustrated. The buffets were good and the a la carte restaurants were very good, we especially loved the Tokyo and Capri restaurants! On average the staff were pleasant but encountered more staff that didn't attempt to understand what you were asking and also would not look at you even after saying good morning or hello... Air Transat had it classified as a 5 star but I would say it is more of a 3.5 to 4 star.

We loved the hotel. The restaurant were amazing. Beds were very comfy. But I would recommend that they have better maps to locate the different restaurants. Steve has been amazing and would recommend anyone to book with him. The resort and beach were beautiful. The staff very helpful. I would definitely come back again and would recommend this resort
