Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Great food, but missing some key items for a 5-star resort

The beach is nice, the lovely pool and entertainment are good, and the food is very good. I liked their baked goods and cakes. Good selection of meet and fish. Very tasty. The negative side is that they could not provide blanket for us, and safe was broken and they could not fix it. Not a huge issue but for 5 star resort you should expect to get blanket if you cold during the night. I am not picky guest and I do appreciate and understand issues in Cuba, but Iberostar should pay attention for iss [... read more]ues like this. Don't advertise as 5 star hotel if you are not able to provide 5 star amenities.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Staff here are the Stars

This was my second trip to Cuba and this experience was better than my last. The beach was great, rocky to the right, beautiful sand to the left. Rooms were dated, but clean. Food was as expected, fairly repetitive, however Christmas day dinner was fantastic and they truly out did themselves for New Year eve dinner! The staff here truly made you feel like their family! We brought extra toilet paper to have for the public bathrooms (airport and on the resort) Often they ran out. But again the room was stocked daily. The beds in the room were older, and as a person with back issues, was sore by the end of the week. If you are looking for a cheaper get away and set your expectations accordingly, I would recommend this hotel.

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Beyond Expectations

We recently spent a wonderful week at Iberostar Selection Veradero, from December 13th to 20th, 2025. This was our second visit, and we were impressed by the many improvements made since our last stay. Yady, the customer service representative was exceptionally helpful and welcoming, treating us like family. Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Frustrating Trip

I was not at all satisfied with this hotel for the following reasons: 1- very poor customer service 2- lots of equipments are out of order 3- checking in took 5 hours 4- too far distance from the airport. 5- water bottles were unavailable for guests 6- lots of flies and mosquitoes 7- they sprayed DDT, which a very harmful insecticide 8- no one is willing to serve unless tipped.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Family vacation

First of all I’ve been in Cuba ten times and I never had complain until now. First complain, we lost two days of our vacation due to cancelled flight by Westjet. Second complain, when we arrived in Varadero our luggage was not on the plane. Basically all passenger's luggage was left in Montreal. No explanation on the part of Westjet. I believed it was intentional since the Captain never told us about this. We received our luggage after three days and we have to pay a taxi to pick up at the [... read more] airport. Third complain, when we arrived at the hotel our book rooms were already given to somebody else. Just imagine five oceanview rooms in the same floor gone. We were given temporary rooms until available rooms come up. I told the hotel reception that they should not given the rooms to somebody else however, their reason was we did not arrive on the agreed date. So blame it to Westjet. Now we lost two days of our vacation and we were not able to get the rooms next to each other. For my entire family’s first trip to Cuba, it was a nightmare. The inconvenience and stress that we endure is not worth to have this vacation. Lastly Westjet is not handicapped friendly airline. My wife, mother and brother was in the wheelchair but we are the last group to board the plane. The humiliation as if we are not welcome was hard to take. This happened in Montreal and so to those Westjet counter personnel I forgot to ask the specific persons names you will become senior too one day you will know how we feel.

Very nice hotel, good variety of foods , clean pools, very nice and helpful stuff. Special thanks to Derrick from agent support. We spent 5 nights we will return back for sure. Greetings from Canada ??

we had a great time at the hotel. We enjoys the beach, the pool, and the staff were all very nice and attentive to their clients especially the one at the lobby serving and asking whatever we wants. we also loved watching the shows.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Beautiful Resort!

Positives: Resort layout - not too big; lobby, beach, restaurants, rooms are easily accessible. Grounds - well-kept, paved, wide and well-lighted. Rooms - spacious, modern and clean. Negatives: Location - too far from airport remote) Entertainment - no beach volleyball; Daily Activities schedule not followed. Services - at the restaurants are slow.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Great resort

This resort was wonderful. I would go again. The staff was very friendly. The entertainment staff were excellent. There was always something to watch and do. If you like home cooked meals then this is the place. I really liked their buffet. The drinks were great. The bar had a lot of variety of cocktails. The pools were clean and full of entertainment. The beach water was choppy and a lot of seaweed would come up shoreline. The staff would clean it twice daily. This was due to the wea [... read more]ther. The only recommendation I would suggest is to bring mosquitoe spray. Again its the tropics and most tropical places have mosquitoes. I would go to this resort again.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Amazing month!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Iberostar Daiquiri in Cayo Guillermo for a full month, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The staff is truly exceptional—everyone goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home. The front desk team is always helpful and friendly, the service staff throughout the resort is amazing, and the bartenders deserve a special mention for their great drinks, smiles, and friendly conversations that make every day even better. I can’t recommend the Iberostar Daiquiri enough for anyone looking for a warm, welcoming, and unforgettable stay.

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Our 2nd time here!

You would be hard pressed to find a resort more relaxing and well-run than this! Grounds are immaculate and service was incredible. Amelin was our waiter on many occasions and would always seek us out to say hi, much appreciated. Samuel as well was always welcoming and helpful. À la carte restaurants were all great quality, the house wine was great, and the bartenders were always charismatic and energetic. The new coffee shop is a great improvement too, highly recommend!

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Ok resort

Personally I will not recommend this resort for family with kids, people who doesn’t eat pork or vegetarian. Everything in this resort mixed with pork. Also this resort has nothing for kids to eat beside pasta there is nothing to eat. Extremely disappointing

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Excellent Resort

This was our 13th visit to this Iberostar resort. Almost everything was excellent as usual. Only negative this trip was the huge amount of seaweed that landed on the beach about 8-10” deep and about 10-15’ deep along about 1/2km of the beach directly in front of the resort. We simply swam in a clear area but it made walking challenging. As well we both were sick from tuna steak at the buffet. Room was excellent and the new wrist band key system is wonderful! No more demagnetized key cards to worry about!

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Great resort

We spent a week at this resort two weeks ago, and we like our vacation at Iberostar very much. Transfers, check-in and check-out were quick. We got the room that we asked for. The room was in good condition, hot and cold water had excellent pressure, shampoo and conditioner were of a good quality, beds were comfortable, linens were all nice and clean. Christma [... read more]s decor in December looks super nice in the evening and creates a very pleasant ambiance. The main buffet and the one close to the beach are both good. The variety of food is great, and all food is very tasty. The only negative experience at the main buffet was cat like animals that get to the buffet at dinner time and make a mess around dirty dishes that wait to be put away. Staff at the buffet tried to keep these animals away but unsuccessfully because there were way too many of these animals there, and their behavior was unpleasant. We didn't go to any restaurants this time because we weren't impressed with food there last year, so we can't comment on restaurants this time. The beach and the Caribbean Sea are lovely at this resort. Water is crystal clear, calm and warm, and there is lots of fish to see right at the dock. Water shoes aren't needed if you prefer swimming off the dock (there are dock steps to the water there).. If you want to go in the water from the beach, water shoes are highly recommended. The resort is a paradise for divers - all places where divers go are exceptionally interesting, and dives are very well organized. Snorkeling trips are amazing, too and highly recommended for all underwater world lovers. Night entertainment at the resort was so-so in general; however, we liked the Fire show. It was really interesting. Service at the resort is fine, in our opinion. Overall, we had a very nice week at this location, and will be back.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Amazing resort

The resort was amazing right from the start. We were a party of 12, ages from 7 to 67 years old. Everyone found things they liked to do. Everyone was a fan. We would definitely recommend this resort.

The hotel was great. Lots of food to choose from. And a fabulous presentation man named jimmy was the best! The beaches were gorgeous! Whole trip is definitely wonderful get away for any age. :) Would definitely recommend and return in by a later year!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Very good resort

The service,food,activities and bars,workers were all great . Beach was disappointing due to seaweed witch is seasonal but can still swim in ocean at different entry points. The concierge service was excellent Lucy attended to all our needs and more. Rosa the yoga ,Pilates ,Zumba teacher was excellent. Tavares and Mer our regular waiters were excellent and very attentive to all our needs and more. The water system was excellent with no worries re water. Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: A Cuban Gem!

This resort exceeded our expectations. The swim up rooms were wonderful. The pool spotless. The food was good. And as usual, the staff members were pleasant and helpful. Always willing to do more. The butler service (Carlos and Ariel) went above and beyond to accomodate our every wish. The beach was clean, thanks to all the hard work of the beach staff. The gardens were lovely and well cared for, again by staff members. And the calm and quiet was extremely welcoming.
