Riu Flamingos: Good hotel but needs to work on some things.

The hotel was beautiful and very well maintained. The washrooms and facilities are always clean, staff checks on you to ensure everything you need in the room has been taken care of. In terms of the resort, there is always staff by the lobby ensuring the hotel is safe. There is programs for guest to do throughout the day and good entertainment at night. However, I have noticed a lot of people slipping because the floorings by the resort and pool area is slippery. This is supported by multiple we [... read more]t floor signs that has been standing in every corner of the resort, also multiple staff tries to dry the flooring by the pool area. Given this is a family resort, there are a lot of kids and elderly that goes here, my child slipped three times in the kids pool area. I hope something gets done with the slippery tiles as this is a safety concern (I am aware it’s newly renovated but the floors were poorly designed in the pool area) It was our first time and we were given a room on the first floor however, it was at the very end of the hall where staff goes so the noises were really bad during late and early hours as we hear things being dragged or staff talking to each other. This area of the hotel should never be given to customers because it is loudly uncomfortable. The food is great in the buffet area (chipotle), the steakhouse was great, so is agave. The ice cream parlor has a lot of good flavors. Sadly, Sakura (Asian buffet) has not met my expectations, from the yakisoba to paneer masala. The pecking duck looks and taste like a regular chicken barbecue. Overall, I still like this hotel very much, I had a good time with my family & friends. We hope to come back again. Maybe request to be on another floor for a quieter stay and hopefully the hotel reconsider the slippery floors.

Riu Tequila: Great Resort

Little rough checking in at 12.00 am only one person working at front desk finally got to the room unpacked got to bed at 130 am. we started our day at 700am and from there it was nice pleasant stay breakfast was good and lunch and dinner Staff was great pools were nice I thought it would be a problem to go to the beach but it was not the shuttle only took a couple of minutes or you could walk not far at all, beach was huge could use the pool and restaurant, bar at The Riu Yucatan, nice there to [... read more]o. Beach had seaweed but everyday they were cleaning it up you were still able to go into the ocean. When we went to Playa Del Carmen we noticed a mini market just down from the resort so we went there and they had some really nice shops. All in all we would definitely go to that resort again

Riu Ocho Rios: Great Trip - Riu Ocho Rios

Food was the best I ever had. Sun every day and hot. Rained 5 minutes our last day. Resort was clean and the drinks were good. Nicest workers we have ever had at a resort. No vendors bugging you. Never did any excursions. Only wish the beach was longer as we usually walk the beach every day. Definitely a resort we would go back too.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Really big resort

The grounds were beautiful. Way too much walking for seniors. Unfortunately got very severe diarrhea 1 hour after eating steak at Elite Restaurant. Have suffered my whole vacation and am now being tested. The service was very good by staff. Our first room had a very lumpy unsupported mattress they couldn’t replace it. So we were moved to different room with a good mattress. The resort is very modern and well decorated. The flight times were terrible lost first and last day. So really not  [... read more]10 day vacation. One hour delay coming home. We had requested 2 wheelchairs upon return arrival. Had to wait along time for them. Only one person available for two Wheelchairs. Sunwing and Westjet need to improve there system.

Riu Guanacaste: Lovely well-kept resort

I am not one to write reviews but after many negative comments, I feel I would like to share our experience. This hotel is immaculate...the building, rooms, grounds, etc. We are not pool people so I cannot comment on cleanliness in this area but the pools were all very busy. Our room did lack one important thing and that was replenishing of our water. We arrived Tues. and saw our water restocked for the first time on Sunday! YIKES! The food was a bit disappointing especially dinner buffet. We did the Asian buffet one eve and that also was disappointing. The dinner buffet was never hot and some dishes were dried out. Breakfast was good though, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon etc. and we had lunch at the Tikki Taco Bar which was very tasty. Restaurant service/staff could use some improvement but perhaps they are a bit understaffed in this area? We did however have the best drinks ever at this resort and we have been to quite a few over the years. Bar tenders were always smiling and the service was amazing considering how busy it was. Drinks were always very consistent regardless which bar you we went to. The vendors are kind and not pushy at all down at the beach. The beach was never crowded, lots of seating and shade. The water much calmer than we expected. Our days were spent at the beach with lots of walking and lovely sunsets. Costa Rica is beautiful and if you don't leave the resort, you are honestly missing out on so much. We did 2 excursions and have come home with no regrets. Lots to see and do so be sure to get out and enjoy!

Riu Palace Macao: A great stay!

My husband and I stayed for a week at this resort and loved it! The beach was beautiful. The pools were great, and there was an endless assortment of food and drinks. We could not have asked for a better stay! We would highly recommend this hotel!

Riu Montego Bay: Could not ask for more!!!

My wife Joy, and I just returned from RIU Montego Bay on the 25th of February 2026 after a relaxing and top notch resort. This resort is only 10 minutes from Montego Bay airport and is in emasculate condition, considering Jamaica had recently been hit by a massive hurricane. The only way on the resort that indicated it had been hit by the hurricane was that the palm trees were missing some leaves everything was up and running at top speed. We were able to eat at the Stake restaurant twice during our 7 day stay and the 10 once stake was the best meal possible. All of the bars served you quickly and orderly making sure you were looking after as quickly as possible. The entertainment staff did a magnificent job and kept things hopping including talking to us and expanding how they weathered the hurricane and keeping guests safe during it . A big shout out to Allison and Suzy from the entertainment gang that provided our fun times and also Kiara at front desk who kept us informed and was able to answer any questions we might have. Both Me and my wife are Rui members and were able to check into Rui resorts before arriving and because Joy has mobility issues we had requested certain buildings and floors before arriving. WOW. Whoever is in charge of the room placement nailed it on the head !!!!! We could not be more pleased with our room placement, Ground floor and very short walks to the pools, bar and Pepsi outside lunch restaurant!! Rui out did yourselves and made our stay the BEST ever. Also the packages of Blue Mountain coffee from both Tripcentral and the Front desk were much appreciated This has been one of the best Rui resort we have been to and we will definitely be back soon. Riu Santa Fe: Never again!

We were devastated to find out it was spring break for many colleges from the USA for the entire 2 weeks of our vacation. The resort had no control over the young people who were all drinking to excess. We saw so many sloppy drunks, as the age limit for drinking in Mexico is 18. The youth were 3-4 deep at the bar, making it almost impossible to get served. One boy pulled the fire alarm at 3/00 in the morning so the whole. Building had to evacuate. They were yelling at the pools, in their rooms ( [... read more]where there was more free alcohol) and in the hallways up to 4:00 am. The food was tasty and there was a good variety but it was never hot.

Riu Playa Blanca: Great trip

My friends and I came to Panama for a week of relaxation. The RIU did not disappoint. The food was incredible, the Italian restaurant was mouth watering(I am still thinking about the buns from dinner) the cocktails were delicious especially the Spanish coffees. Service was great, never had to wait too long. We only had 2 complaints 1. We called down to the lobby to ask maintenance to look at our tub as it wasn’t draining properly. It wasn’t fixed. 2. Riu Guanacaste: Great resort!

The recently renovated hotel was tastefully designed. There were many activities organized for guests - adults and children. The staff was courteous, friendly and helpful. The beach and pools were amazing.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Amazing stay and service!

Great beach and service, will coma again! Food and restaurants are outstanding, great variety and super tasty. Just a note that resort is a bit far away from airport and it is also confusing on arrival in airport. Other than that it was amazing vacation. Room keepers and staff extremely hard working people and keeping all running super smoothly. We had magical vacation !!!

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: RIU Palace Los Cabos

It was good, just don’t go during US spring break. The hallways were loud and the front desk did nothing to help with this even though we called several times. I wouldn’t recommend this resort at this time of year, even though their website explicitly states “no spring breakers”, this is not true.

Riu Playa Blanca: A great resort

The resort is very clean and well kept. The rooms were nice and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and worked very hard. The food was very good, from the buffet to the there Alacart restaurants. All the pools were nice and clean. The beach was nice. There were always loungers available but you have to get it there at around 630 even though they said you weren't allowed to do that. The only complaint i have is they didn't give you enough water in your room, when i asked for extra water one [... read more] day, i was told by the manager that he would give me some this time but your only allowed a water restock of for bottles every other day. Had a great time!!

Riu Palace Las Americas: Amazing resort

Just came back from an incredible vacation! Beach was beautiful, food great and the staff was so friendly. I want to thank Isai at the breakfast/lunch buffet for his incredible service. He remembered exactly what we drank , gave us a friendly fist pump as we entered and made us feel so welcomed! A real asset to the hotel !

Riu Ocho Rios: Amazing people and food

Our room was always cleaned and tidy with amazing towel decorating. Always enough towels packed and tidy amazing room service.I enjoyed long walks in the mornings quite and always clean. I was very surprised to see attendance mopping the outside walkway. The sports bar coffee and drinks early was great but service way to long my main disappointment they need another place for at least coffee alone. But there late nite patties were great. The Italian was ok the Steak house was horrible thier food was the worst but the service was excellent the servers made it fun. The entertainment was the best i ever experienced all 7 nights that we were there. Didn't like the white party it was to packed the beach was a blast. The pool were cold and one level but the beach was awesome so we stayed in the beach all day i missed beach service drinks although the two bar were reasonably close by. I have no comments on the two swim up bar cause my group of 18 persons we had kids with us and those were no kids zone but that not what keep us out it was the nice beach. I being to cruises,Dominican,Cuba, Mexico ,Tobago and this was my 3rd trip to Jamaica. But this one was special and it's the only place I say I will definitely go back just my wife and I we loved it. Thanks to all the hardworking servers, cleaners, bars and the best the entertainment crew the most dedicated talented and warm loving people. Thanks all we had a great experience.

Riu Emerald Bay: Fun in the Sun

Excellent all-inclusive resort. Very clean, excellent food, friendly staff, large rooms, beautiful view and wonderful pools / grounds. It is easy to catch the green bus from outside the resort to downtown Mazatlan.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: This resort was amazing!

We loved everything about our stay at the Riu Palace Costa Mujeres. The food was excellent, the pools and the beach were great and we loved the concept of having special Riu party, we went to the Pink party with the organized shuttle and had a blast. Also, the staff were always so friendly and nice. On the down side, the advertisement of one of those party “the jungle party” was quite confusing as some posters said a day and other said another so we missed it as the poster in our elevator had th [... read more]e wrong date.

Riu Palace Bavaro: February birthday visit

We had an excellent time at the Riu Palace Bavaro. Our biggest concern is that they do not have a designated smoking area. We are non smokers and to see people smoking and vaping in the swim-up bar was disgusting to us. Also upsetting is seeing children in the swim-up bar that is clearly for adults. The Riu hotels we have visited in Panama and Costa Rica had clearly marked designated smoking areas and we would like to see that at the Riu Palace Bavaro. Those hotels do not allow children in the s [... read more]wim-bars either. The disco is much too loud and can be clearly heard from the surrounding blocks of rooms. Needs to be turned down. We would highly recommend this hotel to friends, but we have already told them about the smoking issue and loud music.

Riu Caribe Cancun: Great Resort

Rio Caribe was a very nice resort. The staff was extraordinary very helpful friendly and kind the restaurants and the buffet food was very tasty fulfilling and enjoyable. The cleaning staff did such a thorough and detailed cleaning job maintaining our rooms when we needed service at all times. I would definitely recommend this Resort to a friend. We had a great stay.

Riu Palace Jamaica: Amazing resort

Stayed a week ago! Great food, friendly staff and lots of activities. Really enjoyed my staff and hope to be back soon! Shout out to Archer and Winston for making excellent cocktails and for the housekeeping staff who work hard to keep rooms clean.
