Melia Costa Rey: Cuba

Meliá Costa Rey was a great resort with extremely helpful and pleasant staff including groundskeepers and pool staff. The food was very good and abundant compared to what the locals are able to get outside of the resort. The rooms were great although we had trouble with the AC and damp sheets. Lots of activities if you wanted and beautiful beaches.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: LOVE the staff and the beach

Very attentive wait staff. Wonderful very clean beach. Pool was ideal. Will definitely make sol rio our annual go to resort in cuba To top it off...the airport in Holguin is so easy to fly in and out of

Paradisus Varadero: paradisus Varadero

lot of drastic changes in the wrong direction. that made us very upset and angry, the management ruining this beautiful place, which is very sad, very basic food items are not available, and the selection is very poor, this resort was our favorite, but not anymore. no more Cuba for us!

Melia Las Americas: Great resort.

Melia Las America is a great resort. The rooms, pools and service are exceptional. Tha access to the golf course is convenient. I love this golf course. This trip was all I expected. We will definitely return.

Sol Cayo Coco: A waste of money

One thousand dollars wasted on the premium package. Small selection and amount of food, poor selection of drinks. Cockroaches in bread basket and on the toaster in dining room. It goes on and on. Very friendly staff but they have nothing to work with. I blame the resort owners. Read the 1 star reviews, they are tell you the truth.

Melia Las Antillas: 10 times to Cuba, worst food by far

The positive reviews about the food have to be fake. I've been to Cuba 10 times, different resort every time. Not a picky eater at all but the food here was by far the worst. This is a 2.5 star resort. The staff is amazing, beach is amazing, resort is kind of old but everything works fine, decent wifi. But man the food is atrocious. Have a huge breakfast because lunch and dinner is not edible.

Melia Marina Varadero: Amazing

My daughter and I spent a week at this hotel from Nov 30 to Dec 8. This hotel is beautiful and clean. Our room was definitely was well used as we spread out. We slept well in comfortable beds with feather pillows. The food was so good. We tried a few different restaurants including Japanese which we decided was our thing. It is kept very clean and there are plenty of activities going on all the time. The best part are the cuban people, friendly and fun and very hard working people. Overall this place deserves all the 5 stars ratings it gets.

Melia Las Antillas: Horrible experience

I’ve been to Cuba over 15 times, and this is by far the worst resort I’ve ever stayed at. I strongly recommend not going here. The food was horrendous, and there were cockroaches throughout the resort. I will definitely return to Cuba, but I would never come back to this resort. An absolutely horrible experience.

Sol Cayo Coco: Resort needs work

The best part of this resort is the beach and pool. This resort is on the LOW end of the scale. There is NO cola, pepsi, or coke, just sprite and orange. Mixed drinks are hard to come by on some days. Found a cockroach in the bread at breakfast service and also one in my room. I paid for the superior room with ocean view. Cayo Coco is in the middle of nowhere...you have to drive 1 hour to get to a town. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this resort. This resort needs a MAJOR renovation!

Sol Caribe Beach: Lovely Resort

Room was spacious and clean with mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker. Grounds were well kept. Fabulous beach. Fair selection of food. Not too Much quality entertainment at night. A little bit of distance to walk to Varadero Boulevard.

Melia Marina Varadero: Melia Varadero

One of the better hotels in Varadero. Staff was for the most part friendly and accomodating. The grounds are clean and attractive and one of the reasons I choose this resort. No problems with my room--- the plumbing worked fine, lots of hot water. There were no power outages or water shortages while I was there (Dec 4th to 9th). The cafeteria served typical resort buffet food that grows repetitive after a few days but there's something for most tastes. I liked that there was always lots o [... read more]f cutlery on all the tables (unlike many Cuban resorts) and there was always available seating. The waiters were quite attentive. Overall my stay was pleasant.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Beautiful Property and Beach

Overall we had an enjoyable stay here. The property itself is beautiful and well laid out. The beach was beautiful with warm and clear water. No seaweed. Mosquitoes very minimal as they spray often. Rooms could have been better. Mattresses were not overly great, bathroom had a strong sewer odour, and there were intermittent periods without water which was frustrating. Melia Jardines del Rey: Was what we expected

Arriving on an early flight was disappointing to wait until 4 pm to get in the room and they told us that there were no towels and pillow case yet. During the week they didn’t change the towels or sheets and there were no washcloths! Luckily we brought our own and extra towel. The food was good for Cuban standards. About tips: us were told to change our Canadian money for Cuban pesos. The exchange rate on Google is not correct. It said for 100 CAD we would get 1700-1800 Cuban pesos but at the airport we got 8000 and at the hotel exchange bank even 8500. But they prefer still American or Canadian (coins). So bring Us$1 or CAD $1 or $2. Even a vendor at the street during a tour gave back the pesos, he didn’t wanted it. They can buy groceries with US and CAD. And during a tour at a restaurant we only could pay in USD for a coffee. So good to know. And some days at the hotel there was no water for a few hours and when we had water the pressure was low. Because it was low season there was no problem to get a chair at the beach or the pool. Are we going back? Maybe. Guess we cannot go elsewhere cheaper.

What can I say Sandra D was amazing from the beginning to the end , helpful, knowledgeable and always available. It was a pleasure dealing with Sandra. Sanda was very nice to deal with, helped us out with everything and every question we had.

Melia Costa Rey: Great staff

I had a great time. This was my 5 vacation to this resort .Beach was 5staras usual .Rooms clean ,Patio door hard to open,one call to front desk immediately resolved.Hot water wasn't plentiful. Can beer in room was in short supply, but lots of good alcohol at 5 locations.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Surprise in Cuba

I had given up on Cuba a couple of years ago because of the declining resort conditions and the food. But a friend encouraged me to try Varadero, and another recommended Paradisus. When we arrived, the first day was rough—four hours waiting for our room and underwhelming buffet food. But the second day was already much better. From there, things just kept improving. Paradisus Rio De Oro: Good Hotel

It depends what you book. You can book basic room, junior deluxe, deluxe and royal service. If I come again, I would book at least junior deluxe suite. We had A C broken and it took few hours to be fixed and then after fixing it , I had to call again for someone to come and clean up the mess. All my stuff in the bathroom by the sink was wet. Melia Cayo Coco: A true gem!, clean & relaxing resort

Just got back and from the start to the end, this resort speaks all about friendliness, relaxation, beautiful beach, quiet, wonderful food, a true gem. Was so impressed with how well maintained the grounds, landscaping, pool, buffet, beach all well maintained. Adult only resort much older crowd 50s to 70s, no loud music, or loud animation. Melia Internacional: Did not disappoint.

This was our second visit to Malia international as we had visited it a few years ago. As with our first stay at the resort, we were very pleased. The facility itself is excellent. This is a relatively new resort and we found no indication of deferred maintenance in either our room or in the common areas. The staff were excellent, friendly and very efficient. We experienced no shortages in either food or drink. We have no hesitation in recommending.
