Brisas Sierra Mar: Relaxing Resort

Nice resort beautiful scenery and very relaxing the staff we're very friendly and very helpful , the rooms were a little bit outdated but work out ok. The service and the food was amazing overall I give it a four out of five would definitely recommend the Resort

Brisas Santa Lucia: Not as Advertised / Under Renovation

My husband and I went to Brisas for Christmas 2019. Accommodations - The front desk is understaffed and not prepared to handle large busloads of guests who are checking in. Much of the check-in process is manual, so expect to wait in line for a good while to get your room. Because the resort is under renovation, many rooms are not ready upon arrival... unless you are one of the "regulars". In That case, you will be allowed to bypass the line and will be immediately shown to your room.  [... read more] - Although the Sunwing website states that the resort has 400 rooms, about 1/3 of the resort is under renovation... including the disco. The Sunwing rep spoke about the disco in the orientation however when we asked at the front desk where it was, we were told that it was under renovation ... so frustrating. - We requested an upper level room with a king sized bed. We got a lower level room with 3 twin beds (????). We ended up pushing 2 of the twin beds together, however one was higher than the other which made for a slightly uncomfortable sleep. - There is a safe in the room, however there is a daily charge to use it. - The rooms have no iron board or clock radio. You can ask the front desk to give you a wake up call, however there is a 50/50 chance that you will actually receive one. - The open air patios are nice, but half of them are closed which forces everyone to sit in one area. Many guests smoke which make it uncomfortable for those who do not smoke. Food - The food is ok. If you have been to Cuba before, you will know what to expect. The issue with the dining = the guests. During our visit there were large groups who like to eat "Family Style" and take 2-3 platefuls of each item, leaving minimal amounts for the rest of us. On our first day, we arrived in time for lunch which ended at 2 pm, however there wasn't much to eat other than rice and some fruit. The next 2 days it felt like there was a mad dash to get food each day in the main dining hall. Fortunately we found the snack bar by the beach. They don't have a whole lot of selection, however the volume of food served to satisfy our appetites. - The a la carte meals are much better than the buffet HOWEVER only one of the 3 a la carte restaurants is actually open.... the rest are under renovation (also NOT on the Sunwing website). Services - The beach towel bar was not open for the first 3 days. - They gym opened late and the medical centre never opened, (despite guests waiting outside). You can go to the front desk to inquire, but no one there knows what is going on. The Beach - The beach was not as nice as other beaches I have been to before ... lots of plastic garbage. There was also lots of seaweed. Although there was staff trying to rake it up, their effort was futile. Final Thoughts It was great to get away for the holidays, however this resort was not as advertised. The Sunwing site misrepresented the amenities of this resort. It is listed as a 4 star when in truth it is barely a 1. Considering all that I have listed above plus the 90 minute ride from the airport, we will not be returning to this resort again.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Our Experience at Brisas

Not impressed with the level of service at reception. Seem to go about their business and don’t look up to greet you and you wait for 10 minutes while they chat with one another. Our room was not ready upon our arrival. Took over an hour and a half before we finally got it. Wow, paid for VIP too! So they knew we were coming. When booking a la Carts...the guy is sneaky. Originally he told us we were to get two dinners. I booked two. He said only 8:30 pm available! Next day receiv [... read more]ed a lobster 🦞 invite dinner invitation, booked for 6:30 pm. In speaking with others who had the VIP and same wrist band we should have received 3 plus the lobster dinner. We found out at the end of our trip but in enough time to capitalize on the third dinner. Went back to book and he said sorry nothing available. Funny, you get manager involved and suddenly his tone changed and we had choices of four different times! The service at the beach restaurant is amazing! Thank you Yasmin for making our week a special one. Beach was awesome and weather was hot and sunny all week! The only real thing I noticed was the Cubans that come and stay on the resort certainly got better food given to them and full service versus someone who paid VIP. Lastly, don’t expect your fridge stocked after initial day...everything is about the almighty dollar. Not keen on the resort. Playa Pesquero it is for us if we return to Cuba.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Excellent resort for retirees

An average Cuban hotel, lots of things need attention (maintenance wise). Amazing people are working there, exceptional service. Resort recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, many people coming back every year. Recommended for retired people, very nice and quiet place. Amazing ocean and beach.

Lovely hotel with impeccable grounds. The friendliest and most helpful staff you will ever meet.Gorgeous beach with lots of sunbeds.Rooms are spacious and well kept.Good variety of food .Book the a la cart restaurants as they are excellent.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Decent resort

the hotel was well maintained....there were times with no or little hot water but have had this happen in Canada. bed definitely not the most comfortable could feel all the springs, employees very friendly...not a huge assorted food daily but sufficient to find something to eat. beach was very nice and cleaned daily of sea weed and had few people selling on the beach

hotel was awesome food was good service was good only issue was no fries for a few days and potatoes were also not there for a day or so but other wise was 5 star service all the way the shows were good also loved the black light show

Brisas Santa Lucia: Worst trip everI have

I have been to Brisa Santa Lucia 20 times before and always enjoyed it other than the fact Sunwing usually screws up baggage or extra stops you find out about 2 weeks before you leave, but this time the Russian tourists were there in full force. They are by far the pushiest most ignorant, greediest tourists I have ever come across. They literally push you aside in line , step on your feet, and fill their plates with everything they can get on them, yes them. They usually have 2 or 3 plates per p [... read more]erson and load up bags and tupperware containers before they leave the dining rooms. Fist fights were not uncommon between them selves and wife bashing occurred twice that I saw. I will not return here until I know they are not coming back. I feel so sorry for the very nice staff who rely on tips and gifts to survive. Elite Plus was a lousy option other than having a larger seat. I waited 45 minutes for my bag when an employee asked if this was my bag . It was and had been mistakenly put in oversized luggage even though it was a very small suitcase. The area was empty when I left and I almost missed my Shuttle.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Love this place

This was our 5th time to this amazing resort but our 1st time there during the anniversary celebration as we normally are leaving as it starts. Got to say won't go again during this time. It is way to busy and the a la cartes are closed as all staff are working at the anniversary. There is no choice of food at the gala you get what they serve and it was horrid. Next year will go back our normal week and enjoy the normal amenities.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Great time!

We had a great time after we got all straightened out with our room. Our first room, our toilet was broken, our socket in the bathroom popped out of the wall completely, I couldn't phone front desk because my phone was broken and after countless trips to the front desk and 3 days, we got a new room. A better room overlooking the Villa pool. I could always find something to eat, and the rum was not watered down which is something I have experienced in other resorts. Brisas Guardalavaca: Good vacation

The resort is old and didn't have amenities like a 5 star. But if you like sun and beach then it's great. The villa side is definitely the way to go. The people who work there are very nice. Bring your own ketchup, and jams . The beer, wine and coffee are great, way better than Jamaica or Mexico. I would definitely go back if the price is right. Just don't have high expectations. The late night grill bar was terrible and the 24 hr bar ran out of beer. Just go with the Cuban flow....

Brisas Guardalavaca: Wonderful people!

The resort is celebrating 25 years in business. That being said, the resort and rooms are kept clean and tidy. It's showing its age though. The lawns could use cutting more and the beaches cleaned up but it is Cuba. The staff were generally friendly and housekeeping staff I can't say enough good about them. Great time there.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Nice Resort

We were able to upgrade to a Vila at Brisas. We enjoyed a large suite with a ocean view. The weather was nice. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Everyone from the grounds keepers, servers, house keeping to the front desk were very pleasant. I spent almost everyday playing tennis with Alex, the Tennis pro. I am a Pickleball player so the bigger area and racket were a challenge. Good coaching Alex! We went with several family members. We enjoyed the entertainment and the a la carte  [... read more]restaurants. I would recommend a vacation at Brisas to anyone that likes to have a restful trouble free holiday. Many of the staff gave us farewell kisses on the way out of the hotel. We felt welcome and cherished.

Brisas Guardalavaca: 10 day stay at the Brisas...great resort

We love this resort. Was our 2nd time visiting. Grounds are well kept and our maid was outstanding and took care of our daily needs. Minor food shortage but still plenty of food to eat. Will return.

It was ok not that bad I stay in the Vilas good Beach not bad but not so good also the food was the worst thing repeating everyday same thing same food very bad customer service, I did not go back again unless they change the management they Dont have drinking water in the rooms I was thirsty till morning we get to the hotel late the Stor was close I was struggling till morning

This was the third time I was at this hotel and had a lot of trouble with the room the first room we got the bathroom ceiling was leaking the second room they gave us the smell was so bad of sewage you couldn't stand to stay in the room the third room they gave us the fridge wasn't working and the air wasn't working but decided to stay because were so tired of changing rooms . Brisas Guardalavaca: Resort is Outstanding!!

We just got back from a week vacation here, and all I can say is there is a reason why we will be returning again if I have it my way. Staff are so nice and accommodating in every way. The Food was amazing. The entertainment staff were excellent as well. Thank you Cesar for what you do to make it fun there. Sergio & Victor out in the Outside Bar/Restaurant are very personable and quick!!
