Resort was breath taking

For starters, really happy booked through tripcentral, Iryna Koliuda was great from beginning to end, and so was Air transit..Hotel was truly amazing. Sent us a us complimentary breakfast to our room, for anniversary with bottle rum, later in the week was my wifes birthday, they sent up a cake and another bottle of rum lol..Hotel has truly everything and staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurants had above average food, Disco cool, and casino is nice..Loved the view from our balcony, palm tree' [... read more]s and ocean, just beautiful. You can walk for miles on the white beach and they clean and rake it daily. Glad i stayed on adult side NO Kids.Daily and nightly entertainment.. Great resort

Adults only resort was definitely the right choice for us. Pool/ beach buffet and lobby were all very close proximity together. So was not a lot of walking. We could take the trolly over to the bigger portion of the attached resort if we wanted to go to the casino or other restaurants. So our resort was nice and quiet. The Food was great. Everything was very clean. The rooms were a little dated but clean.

Wonderful vacation

This was our second all-inclusive vacation to the Caribbean and we were not disappointed. The resort was lovely and very clean. The food was good, although the breakfast buffet did not change and became quite repetitive after the 4th day. (But definitely try the hot chocolate available during breakfast -- very yummy!) The room decor felt dated but the ocean view from our balcony more than made up for the interior decor. Husband is 6'5" and felt very enclosed while showering however. The sp [... read more]orts bar on the Palace side would benefit significantly from an upgrade to their air conditioning system -- as the only place to watch the NHL playoff games while on vacation, the bar became ridiculously hot and stuffy with so many people inside. Overall it was a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation

A week in Paradise

Everything about this resort went above and beyond our expectations. We never understood people who would return to a resort more than once but after an amazing couples trip we cant wait to return with the kids to experince everything Barcelo has to offer.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach Input

Grounds well maintained. Hotel also well maintained and kept quite clean. Excellent food at all restaurants. Attentive and respectful staff. Good customer service area and client focused. Offshore boat traffic somewhat irritating. Great beach.

Lovely resort

The beach was beautiful, the food very good. We ate at the Miramar buffet for most of our breakfasts and lunches. Very nice selection, fruit wonderful and the omelets superb. Our waitress, Analy was marvelous and kept us in champagne every morning. We discovered the Adults Only pool and bar called "El Cielo" with its spouting frogs. Great spot ! Nice resort

We stayed at the Adults Only side, and the rooms are tired looking, but functional. The beach is very nice, and it was easy to find lounge chairs in the morning. We found the buffets to be very typical, but the A la cartes were amazing! It was very easy to get reservations at these restaurants and the food was outstanding. Our big complaint was getting through the airport at Punta Cana. 2 hour queues to get in, and 2 hour to leave. Good value

WELL KEPT, VERY CLEAN, WISH THEY WOULD HAVE SMOKING AREAS AS PEOPLE SMOKE EVRY WHERE WITH NO REGARD TO NON SMOKERS. FOOD IS GOOD, VERY FRIENDLY SERVICE. NO WIFI AVAILABLE FOR THE WEEK WE WERE THERE. very windy week for the beach

Amazing resort

We have been at the adult only for 5 or 6 years in a row, we love the staff and resort. Very big resort if you want too be entertained an can also be quiet if you stay in the adult only. You pick what you want! Beaufitful Bavaro Beach! My husband also loves the Sport Bar can go for wings anytime. Will go again!

Dream Vacation in the Dominican!

The hotel, staff, service and setting were phenomenal--we'd go back in a hot minute! Avoid the lobster (smaller and mushier than Canadians are accustomed to) but otherwise the food and drinks were amazing and the presentation of it showed pride and attention to detail in all aspects. The ocean-front rooms allowed us to fall asleep to the sound of the surf and the wind in the palm trees--and the rain which only seems to fall (conveniently) at night! The excursions were phenomenal (I plan to re [... read more]tire ON the Dr. Fish boat) and the image of those turquoise waters and white sand beaches are seared into my imagination to hold me over until my next vacation. I would never have picked the Dominican (too touristy I thought) but I'm so glad I went--do it!!

Very nice resort.

Very nice resort but the lawn was dug up and there was a water leak they were trying to fix all week but never got any better. The maids were not very friendly unlike other resorts I have stayed at before. Food was very good and a la carte restsurants were excellent. Could not get a coffee at the adult resort before 630 had to walk 20 minutes to the other side which had a bar open 24 hours. Should have been something open at the adult side too.

Awesome spot!!

We had an amazing week at this resort! Can see how anyone could give a bad review. The staff was friendly and the service was incredible. The food was great and drinks were top shelf. Our room was comfortable and cleaned spotless daily and once we let the cleaning staff know that we didn't drink juice or pop she made sure we had extra water.

Great Beach! Great Resort!

The Barcelo Bavaro Beach resort is very clean and well maintained. The staff are plentiful, courteous and very helpful. It is an ideal adult resort and great for those want to stroll the beautiful grounds and expansive beach. There is a wide variety of food items to choose from and sure to appeal to all. The service staff in the restaurants and around the pool area were just great. And certainly earned their tips. The beer was good, the liquor was average but the wine was ghastly. Not work th [... read more]e calories. We had access to the sister hotel, the Bavaro Princess. It's a large property. also well maintained and offers plenty of amenities if you wanted a bit of a change up from the Barcelo Bavaro Beach. We went through Air Transat and very really pleased with their service to and from the DR. Their on site representative, Jameison St. Hilaire, was very knowledgeable and provided us with all the information we needed for a restful add pampered stay.

Awesome Resort

This was my second time staying at the Barcelo Bavaro beach hotel. I went for a friends wedding back in Oct 2016 and decided to come back for New Years. I went on my own both times and I did not have any issues with walking around the resort at night or with the staff. I always felt safe being there the first time so this is why I booked again. The a la carte restaurants are excellent. My favourite was the Steak house. I went to all the a la cartes that were included in staying at the Barcelo Bavaro Beach. The entertainement at night is always wonderful to watch. They do an awesome job getting the audience involved. The activities they do during the day are fun as well. I participated in the yoga, aerobics and dancing lessons. The New Years Gala was a fun night. They had a show and the food was very fancy and dancing. The only thing they should have done was advertise their new years gala more. They should have also showed the 2 options for the evening if you wanted vip bottle service you would have to pay or just free with no bottle service. That was a bit confusing. But I would deffinitely travel to this resort again and recommend it. The staff is always friendly and most of them speak English so its easier to ask questions. I always felt safe being a single woman travelling on my own. There are cameras all over the resort. I made a lot of friends with the staff. You can also walk or train over to the Palace side where they have shops, the disco and casino.

Absolutely AMAZING place !!!

Everything about this resort was fantastic !! The level of service was the best we have ever had . There was always somebody asking if you needed a drink , how you were doing , and if everything was ok . The cleanliness of the resort was astonishing . Staff were always seen cleaning and tidying around the pools/bars/lounges etc . Even the pool side bathrooms were always immaculate (which is rare at resorts).The food choices at the buffets were more than ample . The food was always hot and fresh  [... read more]. The nice thing about the buffets was that the the food service was in an air conditioned sectioned off room and not in the open air seating area . The a la carte restaurants were easy to access and the food options were amazing . The adult side was very quiet and relaxing with many activities to participate in . The Palace side was just as appealing with a massive theatre and disco (bigger and more modern than we have ever seen in the islands . It was much more lively at this side , if thats what you are looking for . The fact that you could walk over to this side of the resort in 10 minutes (under a covered path the whole way ) was a great alternative . There is also a shuttle train that runs between resorts. Overall , this resort had everything we needed or wanted to have a memorable holiday . It is obviously well managed as all staff we met were more than helpful and courteous , and all parts of the facility were exceptionally clean .

It is really amazing Resort!!

I was here five years ago and I could not wait to come here again.(I did not go anywhere between). We love here so much we decided to extend our week staying for five more days(wish we could afford more). I feel like home here. Everything is sooo good (I am crying when I am writing ). People here are so nice so friendly. They really make this vacation special. I am so happy to be send here by my dear friend who is not with us anymore. Well-designed resort on a gorgeous beach

The Barcelo is a great design. Connected to a larger resort where there were many dining choices, a big theatre, casino and disco - the adult-only portion was more compact. All the grounds were very well maintained. The beach was amazing; clean, turquoise water and white sand studded with thousands of palm trees on an endless beach for walking. Lots of chaise lounges. The rooms were large and we had an excellent view of the ocean from our unit. I loved the retractable clothes dryer on the balcony for bathing suits. Great idea. The restaurants were lovely. Mostly open-air. Service was quite poor. Very slow and forgetful. Staff needs a bit of training. The food was plentiful and varied. Unfortunately I got a severe case of food-poisoning while there which has tainted my overall impression of the food. Overall, this was a beautiful resort. Just be careful what you eat.

Finally

The Barcelo Bavaro Beach was a welcome surprise. Having visited the DR several times, we were expecting the same old same old. Not so here at the Barcelo. The amenities were marvellous but the absolute best were the open air dining areas where you could enjoy the sea breezes along with the delicious meals prepared by a smiling staff. More than enough loungers for guests and organized activities were designed in such a way that the mood was light and the music was not so booming that it disturbed the relaxed atmosphere where the rest of us could just relax or watch. The beach was empty of retail hawkers, having a separate area next door to the resort. This cut down on constant interruptions by vendors hoping to sell their wares. We could mosey on down to the stalls if we were in need of some retail therapy. The only complaint was having a male member of our group asked to change his expensive leather sandals to shoes (running shoes as it happened) before we could be admitted to the dining room. The women in the party were allowed to enter wearing rubber flip flops. This double standard left us frankly amazed especially since our feet were hidden under floor length table cloths. The "formal" attire of other female diners consisted of basketball shorts and workout tops. I would encourage the hotel to review their definition of "formal" in a relaxed beach resort, or, alternatively, to apply their definition to ALL diners. So rant over, I will definitely return to this Adults only resort. Great value for the money.

Amazing Resort!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this resort. The pool area and beach were clean and close together. You could always get a lounge chair at the beach. The variety and quality of food was great. We had 5 a la cartes included and were able to make all reservations at the same time. There are 2 open air restaurants which I loved. Beautiful breeze most of the time. Service was excellent! The rooms were nice and not too far from the beach. Only complaint would be that the water fluctuate [... read more]d in temperature when taking a shower. Would definately go back.

Second Time

This resort is one of the better ones that we have visited. This was our second time.It is very clean and the majority of the staff are very friendly. The beach is perfect. The workers make sure if that. Security is often seen and you feel quite safe both on and off the resort. The food in the buffet is exceptional. The ala cartes are hit and miss. The rooms are basic but clean. I would rate this resort a 4. I would definitely return if the price was right.
