Not what we were looking for!

We were going on this trip to relax and enjoy the ocean view, which we paid extra for but little did we know that it included booming music every night until at least 12 pm. We like music but would like to be able to choose whether we listen to it or not but in our "oceanview" room we did not have that choice. The hotel was tired and dated but generally clean. New beds would be in order! The staff were pleasant but some did not want to be there. "Betty" in the dining room was a gem. The food was [... read more] better than we had had in Cuba the year before, so that was a nice surprize. Nice beach but short. If you want to walk go to Varadero town.

Excellent Melia Hotel

Hotel was well laid out, excellent pools & beach. Things that stood out were cleanliness of hotel, food was very good for Cuba & If you golf which I do, it is a beautiful course & just a 5 minute walk to clubhouse. Very impressed with the Melia & will definitely be returning to this Resort.

Totally ENJOYABLE!

I was not sure of what to expect in Cuba. However I am now ready to plan a return visit to the Melia Las Americas. The staff are all so welcoming, professional and helpful. The accommodation, a bit of an 80's retro - well maintained, spotlessly clean and everything in order. Contrary to some tales of Cuba that I have heard the quality of the food at this all inclusive resort was definitely a B+ with lots of variety and several locations in which to enjoy a meal or a snack. Great resort

For any golf enthusiast this is the resort for you in Cuba. Melia Los Americas is an older resort a bit dated but you would never tell by the service amenities and food. The proximity and service to the golf course is second to none. Pool and beach are amazing. Had a great time.

Great Place

We really enjoyed our stay. Room was average, but the beach was fabulous. Buffet was good, always something to eat. A la carte were delicious. Staff were friendly, funny and always helpful. Golf course is beautiful, we will return next year.

Great time

Having been to many resorts around Cuba , I was pleased to find out the hype about Amelia Las America’s was dead on. The entertainment was the best I and my friends have experienced in Any resort. The staff were fun and very professional. Kudos too Elizabeth the Sales Manager Will the waiter. They went above and beyond to make our Golf trip a super experience. Resort impeccable

Emplacement très bien situé, les chambres très propre très belle ambiance , pour les golfeurs terrain paradisiac, les piscines très propre a proximité de la plage très propre et pour les restaurants très bien manger toute la semaine

Amazing resort!

This was our first time to Cuba and an all inclusive resort. We were pleasantly surprised at this resort. Rooms were clean. Staff super nice and friendly! Beach activities so much fun! Nightly entertainment was great! We had a great time at this resort! Absolutely loved it!

Wonderful! Especially for golfers!

We loved everything about this resort. This is our second time here and there have been several improvements. The resort is clean and well maintained. All of the staff were very pleasant and very helpful. We love the proximity to the golf course (2 minute walk if that!) and the course itself is beautiful! Good Resort, Dated Rooms

The resort overall is good. If you get an older room, the room is very dated. The food was good for Cuba and the staff were very friendly. The pools were not busy, you were always able to find somewhere to sit to eat or sit on the balcony.

Wonderful resort

The hotel located in very nice spot in Varadero. The sea beach is very clean . The staff are helpful and friendly people. The room was quite neat and calm, the room service was very active and change and clean everyday.

Another amazing vacation

We have been to this hotel over 20 times. We brought our friends with us one year and they loved it also so they have been returning with us at least once every year. The staff at this hotel are the best. Just relax and don’t be in a hurry and they will look after you. The beach here is wonderful. The hotel is kept very clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Beautiful resort

The resort is beautiful. The view when you leave the lobby area to go to the beach is incredible. The main areas of the hotel are well maintained. The room we were in did need to be updated, especially the bathtub. However the rooms were clean and that is what is most important to us. The food was good. There is a grill area where you can get omelettes in the morning and at lunch and dinner you can pick fish, chicken, pork or whatever you want and it will be grilled right in front of you. Ther [... read more]e is a lack of variety in that they basically had the same food day after day but it was good and I really can’t complain. Best mango I have ever had. We tried the specialty restaurants. They were fine although portions are small and we ended up going to the buffet after! I find also that the English descriptions on the menu don’t match with what you get a lot of the time. I would go back to the Japanese restaurant which was probably my favourite. We had no trouble finding loungers in the shade although there were the usual chair hogs who would place a towel on the chair and then not show up till afternoon. We went in May and I don’t think the hotel was full when we were there so that could make a difference to your experience. The people are very friendly and the service was great. There is a plaza nearby which is within walking distance. I would definitely go back here. It is one of the best places I have been in Cuba.

An OK resort.

The hotel was beautiful, laid out really well. Food was pretty good, perhaps a bit salty. Beach was clean and close. Staff were RUDE and ignored you, took 1hr+ for a coffee if you got service at all. Some spots were better than others for service, but that’s because they couldn’t ignore you as easily (ex: sitting directly at a bar).

Presque parfait!!!

C'était notre 2e visite. Nous adorons ce ressort. Le golf à 5 minutes, en bord de mer, la nourriture est excellente, la mer turquoise, propreté impeccable, une animation impressionnante! Il faut juste refuser la chambre 2408 qui n'a pas d'isolation avec la suite d'à côté où une famille s'est installée à 3h du matin... Ils ne devraient pas louer les 2 en même temps.

A resort with a lot going for it!

My wife and I returned home May 13 after a one-week stay. Had a very good time, no major concerns. The hotel lobby is a showpiece with beautiful floor tiles and complementary décor, lots of comfortable, attractive seating, classy piano bar, spacious. Walk straight through the lobby and you can head for the beach or hang out with the card, backgammon, and chat enthusiasts on the covered patio. Huge balcony, (larger than the room), with small table and chairs. The refrigerator was re-filled with soda, beer, and water every day, no fuss. Housekeeping and maintenance staff we met were all pleasant and helpful. Really enjoyed the pools. The larger pool at its maximum width is . almost 50 meters so you can get a nice workout with a few lengths if so inclined. This pool has a "bubbler" insert which provides a great lower back massage. There also are two jacuzzi tubs. We had a delicious dinner at the Italian restaurant which has funky décor and shouldn't be missed. We both had the Greek salad, my wife had fish and I had the 4-topping thin-crust pizza. It was all good! The buffet food is hit-and-miss. Some items are bland, some cold, some over-cooked, some under-cooked etc., and dinner rolls and muffins are sometimes stale. But there's lots of good stuff - - just try small portions the first day or two until you find things you like. Also, the sliced cheeses and sliced meats are very tasty so you can always make yourself a nice sandwich! The beach is great, very wide and very clean. Water is clean, warm, shallow so you can comfortably go in and splash around or just cool off. All in all, we had a good time at Las Americas and would recommend it for quality and value.

Best All-inclusive Resort in Cuba!

I absolutely LOVE this resort! This last, was my twelfth time visiting Melia Las Americas which in itself should say alot. Everything from the hotel to the rooms, the pools, the ocean and the food are top notch. Having the golf package is also key to me as I am an avid golfer and the golf course is second to none. The service staff are friendly, efficient and are there to wait on your every need. If you want to feel like a King (or Queen) for a week, Melia Las Americas is the place to go.

Awesome resort, awesome people

Great rooms, great restaurants, great beaches, great people. It was like a dream. The beach was right next to the resort which was convenient. Live entertainment in the lobby at 8:30, theme parties at 9:30, they all kept the atmosphere lively and made the overall experience quite enjoyable. Resort/golf course was great!

We liked it as the golf course was part of the same property and easily accessible. Some staff was friendly and efficient and some staff just was not. Often talking amongst themselves, forgetting they had vacationers to look after.

Excellent option in Varadero!

As a seasoned traveller to various areas of Cuba, I found the grounds of the Melia Las Americas beautiful and very well kept. The buffet as well as the 3 alacartes I experienced were all quite good. The service overall was as expected, attentive and cheerful staff. The beach was clean, plenty of loungers and umbrellas so no need to rush in the morning (huge perk).
