Great resort

staff are amazing and the rooms were very good. asked fo an oceanview top floor corner room and that's exactly what we got. food was ok , but the pool and the beach we top rated. went to havana for the day from a private tour guide and that was perfect.

Great location and good resort

The grounds were beautiful and friendly staff. I had no complaints about the hotel as it was what I expected for this developing country and the research I had done. Actually I found the staff quite patient for what they dealt with daily, drunk and belligerent guests. I found many guests rude and with a sense of entitlement to the point I was embarrassed to be one. The attitude of smokers on the beach is a tragedy of butts everywhere from their narcissism.

Beautiful resort

The hotel was very rundown. The ceiling leaked in our room and our patio door did not lock but the grounds were spotless and the staff were phenomenal. The beach was amazing! No seaweed ever! The food was ok but the a la cartes were nothing special.

Great Beach; Warm people!

We stayed on the Sirenas side which is still to be renovated (Coral was recently upgraded). The hotel was great; but don't go if you like to dance at a local disco. Beaches are beautiful; well lit at night, and well maintained. The animation staff is warm; but not as friendly as some resorts. The food has gotten better in Cuba; and i don't go there for the 5 star restaurants. I liked the hotel, but it isn't my favorite in Cuba. Good resort

Hotel was good for the value...met lots of great people. Travelled by myself, and i'm not much of a traveller, but the staff was very friendly and welcoming, and made it easy to get around. Would definitely recommend going there.

Beautiful spot the ocean and Beach are AMAZING.

Our room was always clean and fresh, we had a beautiful view of the pool and the lovely grounds. there was always something good to eat, fresh fruit, lots of fish, the Baked good were amazing. It is well spread out and we were able to walk a lot which was good for us.

Average at best

This hotel had average food selection with decent serving areas and attendants. Beautiful beach with one beach bar open till 5 pm . Small coffee serving area very busy In mornings, They will cook you a great burger at two in the morning at the north pool bar but they won't serve you a cervesa past 2 am

Comfortable resort for relaxation

Went in late Oct seeking a spot to relax in the sun. We were not disappointed. The beach was clean and lots of palapas and chairs. Enjoyed the pool for refreshing swims too. Food is simple Cuban fare but always lots to eat. Had an older main floor room facing the driveway which certainly could stand an upgrade especially to the air-con but our maid was great and the location close to everything so decided not to complain.....this was a minor issue for us. 2 and a half resort

Tile in my room broken. My room neede painting.toilet would not flush. No straws for your drinks all week. No mohito all week,! Which is cuba drink! Food was the worst i have ever had in cuba! I have been to cuba 8 times! This is the first time i can say i was very disappointed!

Good Resort. Not great, but good.

Only real complaint was that the buffet food was iffy at best, the pools were not very deep, and there was no free wifi, which was pretty huge for me. however the staff were helpful, the room was clean, and the TV had HBO!

Good Resort

The hotel was very good, all was wonderful with the exception of the food....could be better. I might add that this might not be the hotel only but it seems that in Cuba the food served at most hotels in Varadero needs improvement.

Good resort

We stayed one week at Sol Sirenas Coral. The food was great and the grounds and public areas were very clean. The service was good the rooms were cleaned every day. LOVE the beach so beautiful. I recommend Sole Sirenas Coral.

They probably did their best

Staff were very nice. Food was just okay, although great orange juice. The room was fine, but could have had better linens and towels. It felt a bit musty. Entertainment was available, but every night seemed the same show with a different title. Lots of drunk teenagers. Maybe it was just that week. The beach was beautiful and our weather was great.

Really nice hotel for $ value

Really nice layout, clean & courteous staff. Close to city for night entertainment & shopping also to mingle with the locals. One of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen with calm to medium waves to play in. Lots of activities on beach & resort.

Not so amazing resort

:This was our first trip to Cuba and we weren't quite sure what to expect. The food was better than adequate comparing to the Domincan.....bar drinks were quite good.....the whole resort was very dated and in need of MUCH repair....rooms were in poor shape and the washrooms were laughable....I decided to pretend we were in shabby sheik for the stay....no point in getting too worked up, as this side of the resort was at least lively....if we had complained they put you in the other side which see [... read more]med like a retirement villa!! LOL We travelled with our Daughter, Son in Law , adult son ( who shared our room on a cot!! He however moved it out on to our balcony and had an amazing alfresco room for the week!) and 2 small grandchildren. The service on the resort was hit and miss...basically ignored until a large tip was put on the bar (that was for ice!!) All in all it was a terrific holiday....car rentals directly across from the resort....Havana an hour trip .....a very interesting hour trip away!! Sand flees were ATTROCIOS.....Beach closed most of the week due to waves...pools were clean....large parts of the resort were actually abandoned or closed up......

Sol Sirenas

I am a student. For the price and experience it was great. The beaches were fantastic compared to surrounding resorts. However, the food was awful. You hear about Cuba's food being terrible and think "I can manage for a week..." Well at the Sol Sirenas trust me you can not. It was horrible. The rooms were not the best however clean. Good resort

The grounds were nice, the food was not that great but I hear all of Cuba is not great for food. The service is good only if you tip alot. The beach was great. They need to update and maintain the rooms more. The plane was the worst do not travel Cuban airlines. Good if you want to be close to the city and want to just relax.

Great Times

I had a lot of fun at this resort. I reserved a room in the cosmonaut building. My room was really nice and clean. I had a very nice bathroom with a large walk in shower. The housekeepers were there everyday and made sure i had everything i needed. They also made funny things out of the towels and left them on the bed. I was supposed top have a bottle of rum in my room with the fridge stocked but when I arrived there wasn't anything in my room, but the workers at the cosmonaut took care of every [... read more]thing. The cosmonaut was really nice - it had a billiard room, sitting room, its own bar and restaurant but there weren't any instructions anywhere letting me know what was available and how to go about using them. My Spanish is really bad and its the first time I've been away so everything was very new to me. It was really quiet over there, i actually didn't really see anyone the first few days. It was only a short jot from main building. The pool was perfect, swim up bar never had a bartender though!! I loved going in the ocean the beach was perfect. We took a long walk down the beach and our beach was by far the cleanest and nicest. There was entertainment and shows to go see. I went swimming with the dolphins...amazing experience! We would of liked to go on a few more excursions but they weren't ready for visitors?! The food wasn't actually that bad. We brought soya sauce so we ate a lot of chicken and beef stir fry's. They had pringles and munchies to buy. The only real complaint is the bathrooms in the main bar/lobby got really bad/dirty at night, but it got better as the week went on. And i upgraded to the cosmonaut building so i could have the lobster supper and a few extras but after 3 days of asking for lobster I kept being told tomorrow and then finally i was told that there would be no lobster. Part of the gang that went on the catamaran excursion though got to have lobster. So that was a big disappointment - i actually searched through several resorts and lobster was one of the main points to my booking there. So I was really bummed, but I would go back there, I felt very safe and the staff is quite amazing. They made sure everyone got back to their rooms at night after having a few too many lol. I would recommend the cosmonaut building, thats where i would stay again. Everyone else said their room did the trick in the main building but i guess i was spoiled after being in my room. Go to Cuba you wont regret it! Hope this helps.

Resort is really amazing but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Resort was really amazing but the roomes need a real good makeover as it needed update with the furniture, beds had really old and smelling linen. Wash rooms were old fashioned . The workers are mostly good but the one who came to our room was very greedy and wanted us to give her something everyday we really gave her but she wanted more, sometimes demanding. Over all we had a good vacation. Pls do make updates and i am sure it will be a nice place for vacations..........

Beautiful Resort and wonderful people

Rooms were great/ dining was good /love the beach and all the assistance we received there...everything was awesome , there was always a surprise in our room upon return. Made alot of friends and saw some old ones .It's like going home when we get there.
