Deteriorated resort - needs upgrading

We traveled to this resort 10 years ago and were very impressed with it that we chose to come back. I don't think any work has been done in the time since we had been there. Rooms were in much need of work - we even changed rooms as we were not pleased with our first and while the second was cleaner the air conditioning vent dripped steady leaving a huge water puddle on the floor in the entrance to our room. Vent in bathroom dripped on you every time you sat on the toilet, half of the shower doo [... read more]r was missing - NO hot water our whole 10 day trip and we tried to shower at different times of the day - 6, 7, 8 am, 3, 5, 8 pm! It's hard to shave over goosebumps :-) The grounds were clean and well kept with the exception to the pathways needing to be redone - patching only goes so far! The pool closest to our room had green algae along the edge. Food - only one buffet for two resorts - we found many times the staff couldn't keep up with keeping the chafing dishes full so you would have to go back several times to if you wanted something specific - especially fruit. We found the nicest fruit and best place for lunch to be the beach snack bar. We did enjoy the Mexican restaurant. Evening entertainment was horrible - one of the evenings it was exactly the same show we saw 10 years ago. Very amateurish. (and i'm sure the wicker chairs were the same as from 10 years ago too) The beach was great, the bars were good and the staff friendly, but we would not go back to the Caribe Club Princess - especially when we know we can stay in a much nicer resort for the same $$$

First Trip to Caribe Club Princess Resort

We had a great time at Caribe Club Princess Resort. The staff are extremely friendly, food is very good, room was great, beach is beautiful, lots of restaurants, nice pools. We would definitely return.

Nice resort - but don't fly with Sunwing!

The hotel was nice and the staff friendly. We were two adults and a five year old in our party. We had an amazing view of the water and were really close to the action (at all hours). However, our room needed reapairs. Broken light switches, broken lattice boards on the balcony, air conditioner leaked water and our fridge was dirty. We also had a hard time getting towels for 3 people. The lighting in the hallway was always out as well as on the balcony. The satellite TV is mostly in spanish with a few english channels but I couldn't find any english cartoons. That being said, the entertainment was great and the kids perfomance in the evening was my daughter's favorite thing. She would practice all day for her chance on stage. We loved this! There was a good variety of food selections and the food was all very good. The beach was beautiful until later in the afternoon when the seaweeed would wash in. It would clear up again later so we just avoided certain sections of the beach during that time. The pools were a bit cool. The kids pool was the warmest only becuase it was the shallowest. Sunwing was unreliable with a two hour delay on the way out and close to 10 hours in delays coming home. I booked this vacation specifically for the flight times but ended up travelling at the worst possible time (over night with a 5 year old) and there was no explanation as to what happened.

Nice beach and accommodation

the beach and its location is just amazing. The hotel and the friendly personnel is amazing. The only down side is that we have all been sick ank so are people that we have met on the resort (not sure if it`s just a fluc)

Good food and restaurants

Our room had a leak in the bathroom ceiling and they tried to tell us it was condensation. It was not and they finally moved us after we complained again. Staff were not overly friendly and were put out when we complained. As VIP we did not have our fridge restocked each day, never got our bath robes and we had to ask for premium liquor and sing for it. They were also very slow to clean up all the sea weed on the beach everyday.

Good times, but could have been better

I didn't like the food, I found it too mushy/soft and everything was warm making it unpalatable. It also affected me badly starting the 3rd day and gave me the runs to which almost a week back my system is still not back to normal. The room was nice and clean, the cleaning staff were nice, but I found the rest of the staff very cold and standoffish with not attempt to communicate with me when they didn't understand what I was trying to say. It would have been nice to have known about the $20 a k [... read more]ilo over the 20 kilo limit per bag before going down. On the return flight I was placed in a row with no window, I got someone has to sit there but I paid a $30 fee to book my seats on line and was not told that is was a windowless seat, a seat that I wouldn't have taken if I known. All in all no trip is perfect, but it was the little things that could have been better. The beach was very nice, the weather hot and dry, it served it's purpose.

Satisfactory Hotel

Hotel was satisfactory, few hiccups, 1st room dirty and absolutely worst view. Upgraded room at no charge after some haggling. Could never get the WiFi for room. Front desk was somewhat helpful but really needs people with better English. Food was good and beach spectacular.

Great Beach & Staff

The Princess resorts are great as we have been at the Punta Cana Princess, Tropical Princess and the Caribe. This resort is perfect for younger travelers without children as it can get quite loud in hallway's at night and the rooms are not very soundproof. We had issues with this and when we spoke to the desk half way through our trip we were moved to the sister resort Tropical Princess which is more family oriented. We had great customer service, and Blue at the Caribe children's club at is awesome, our kids loved her...She is very warm and a natural with the kids!!

Amazing vacation!

I am beyond thrilled we chose caribe club princess for our graduation trip! It was a perfect vacation. Great hotel, beautiful beach, awesome entertainment and service from all staff! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun vacation where you can celebrate and party, but also relax and enjoy! Very friendly for all ages

Second stay and will definitely go back!

The staff is amazing, pools are awesome, the beach is to die for. White sand and cleaned daily and is walkable for miles in each direction. The Caribe Suites are nice and my room looked over the beach. The beach bar/ snack bar is 24 hours and I loved it. The grounds are beautiful and we'll maintained.

Great vacation

Great resort, the staff was always very friendly and helpful, clean rooms, always beach and pool chairs available, the beach is amazing, food was great. Very close to the airport. Nightly entertainment was great.
