Great Facility

The facility and of course beaches are excellent. The meals were average to good. The Steak House was the highlight. The cook on the spot features in the buffet were really good each night. The grounds are extremely well kept.

Started off OK but ended poorly

I'm not one to complain BUT... this will probably be the last time I go to DR. HEED MY ADVICE!!!! Spend the extra money and go to a different hotel or different country. LOCK YOUR VALUABLES!!!!!!! I read this before going and made sure I did during the day. We left the room to go to the disco at night FOR TWO HOURS, I forgot my phone on the night table, when we returned my brand new $400 phone was gone from the room. Here's my break down... Check in - Great no problems here. Donald got us chec [... read more]ked in quickly with no hassles Room - needed some love. Beds were hard, pillows extra soft, sheets clean. TV has about 5 English channels with light snow. We were on the Tropical side. Bathroom - half glass bathtub door was a nuisance and needed to add extra water to flush. Water smelt a bit like sewer water. Bars - great, staff was nice and efficient Drinks - not a mixed drink person, rum and sprite was good and they let us fill up half the water bottle to take back to the room Food - not a picky eater but by day 3 we were living off of bread and fries. Al a carts were great (Japanese, steakhouse and Italian). Thank God for those because it helped us get through. This was the FIRST time I lost weight on a beach vacation. Weather - good, one day of rain Beach - beautiful Chairs - you snooze you lose Waterslides - FUN!!! no line ups. The first lunch we had there was nice, the second time it was as though the food was heated up from the day previous. Tips (if you STILL insist on going) - make sure you lock your valuables - walk with mosquito repellant (even with this I ended up with about 30 bites) - walk with a travel mug for drinks (for beach and to take back to the room) - tips take you a long way ($1 for every meal/drink works) - walk with snacks (chips, bread, chocolate) - MAKE SURE YOU LOCK YOUR VALUABLES

Great resort for families!

This hotel is between a 3.5 star and 4. We were a couple that didn't being our kids and found the resort better for families than couples. The pool area was a bit too busy for us, but there were lots of quiet spots on the beach. Nice beach with swimming areas and a big bonus is that you can snorkel. Next time I would get a superior room instead of standard. The food was good and Japanese restaurant is the best a la carte. We stayed 11 days and it was an overall great trip :)

Great vacation

I had perfect fun vacation. I would like to go back! Some people had problems with room but my room was fantastic. Alcohol and parties were great. The only thing I didn't like is animation team but overall I enjoyed my experience.

Don't go here

Spent a week at Sirenis in October. Terrible food, weak staff and the pols were filthy. Thankfully we didn't get sick but many other guests did. We love punta cana and will return but not to this resort.

Great time

Well I have to say for the price we paid we had a great time. We of course had our rooms moved as we were not happy with the first choice but I have to give props and shout out to Wilson and Ronaldo and Chamelot they made the change smooth and enjoyable and even sent us champagne chocolate and fruit to our room. I believe they went above and beyond to make our stay great. We loved the pool and found it was very clean the staff were friendly and all hardworking especially the maids and grounds keepers. I have to say we really enjoyed our time there and we became Sirenis premium travel members and look forward to going back as Freddy was our guide and friend for the travel club and made that experience and our last few days in punta Cana amazing....I look coward to seeing other Sirenis properties and enjoying my vacations in the future.....

Vacation with the kids

this hotel wasnt exactly what we had hoped for...the food wasnt great...breakfast was a let down...we did manage to find something for lunch and supper..staff, very friendly..rooms ,very standard..even though we booked a superior..we did change rooms.they were well cleaned..

Great resort with some caveats

The Good: Food was good, the grounds and beach is lovely, service is excellent. Room was very nice. Loved that you get unlimited of the water park. Shows were fantastic - the circus show and Michael Jackson are not to be missed. I like that the pool is at least nine feet deep in places. The Bad: Drinks aren't great. Beer, rum and coke and gin and tonic are good, but forget margaritas or daiquiris and mojitos are terrible. Beach isn't good for snorkeling due to the fine sand that gets churned up  [... read more]and means poor visibility. Restaurants not as clean as I would have like, but I could live with it. Buffets were extremely loud. WiFi only in the main lobby, which is a pain.

Beautiful resort and friendly people

We travelled for one week in July with our two sons, ages 13 and 11. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this resort. There was an error with our reservation which was the fault of the resort - the 1st room they sent us to was under renovation, when we went back to the reservation desk the gentleman did not speak English and did not understand what the problem was. Once a manager was consulted he accompanied us to another room which we did not find acceptable as our 13 year old was charg [... read more]ed as an adult and we had asked for a room large enough to accommodate an extra bed. We explained this to the manager and he took us over to the Tropical side which has much nicer rooms. The room he showed us was great and we were not charged for the upgrade as they had made the mistake. The room was always cleaned beautifully, the minibar was always restocked with drinks and plenty of water. The beach was lovely with very little seaweed and calm waters. Very easy to find loungers and shade. The pools were busy and it was a little more difficult to find loungers in a shady area. We enjoyed the waterpark - the slides were fun for our boys, the pool was nice and it was great to have a restaurant right at the waterpark. The food overall was very good, we enjoyed the Japanese and Italian restaurants. The buffets were very good and our server Eddy was excellent.

Great place!!

We had a great week with our son of 12 year old. We loved the Japonese and the italian restaurants. The pool is perfect but the beach is not very clean. Nice weather. All the staff was really Nice. I recommend.

Amazeing staff

We had a super great time. food was great , staff so nice, grounds were all kept clean . The pool was showing it`s age but heard they were going to redo it soon . The beach area was awesome we fed the fish everyday. always lots of chairs to sit out in . even lots of shaded areas for those how don`t want to be in the sun all day . redoing some building so there was a lot of noise of building during the day but very calm and quiet nights

Get there fast then take it slow

entrance and lobby area impressive.large designated non smoking area appreciated inside lobby/lounge area.small orchid garden nice touch.outside the landscaping was lush and well maintained.beach was awesome .you can walk /run in either direction.one is able to snorkel and see a variety of fish directly off resort beach .

Great Resort

grounds are beautiful, awesome pool with deep end, clean rooms, great assortment of food. Very family oriented. Needs a separate adult pool. Very large resort, they need benches down walkways for older vacationers.

3-star resort

Just got back from a week at the Sirenis. We are Sirenis VIP club members and were disappointed with how the front desk treated us. Let me begin by saying that I called 3 times prior to our arrival to request a crib in our room, upgrade to an ocean front room and early check in. ( these requests for VIP club members are not unusual). Each time I called I was assured, " no problem- we will make your trip special). Upon arriving- I was met by Manuel who rudely told me - these are just requests no  [... read more]guarantees. He then had to scramble to find us VIP wrist bands. They looked used and kept falling off. When asked fro a replacement - we were told they didn't have any more. Room: I was told by Manuel that we booked the Cocotal side but because we were VIP they upgraded us to the Tropical Suites (better rooms - larger). We learned that other people on our flight also got "upgraded to Tropical side. So they lied no VIP upgrade. They over booked the Cocotal side. When we got to our room we found it was a corner unit and our balcony faced the busy avenue. Couldn't open our curtains without the whole resort seeing us also very noisy for a 3 and 1 year old. After much complaining we were moved to building O much better - more privacy. The bank machine on the resort does not work so take plenty of cash for souvenirs. We were told by staff to take an 8 dollar cab ride to the "plaza" or walk 15 mins. We took our 2 kids for a "15" walk which was really 30 mins in a remote area. Had to wait on the way back for a herd of cows to get out of our way. On the wednesday and Saturday market days barter with the vendors. You can talk them down below 50% of asking price. So to sum it up: Positives: our house keeper was great- very friendly and helpful Our servers Wendy and Blanca at the buffet were the best. They made our trip so enjoyable. The grounds are beautiful Staff are amazing - work hard and friendly Beach is beautiful Water park is great for kids especially small kids Food not bad - something for everyone. Even someone on a strict diet like myself Cons: the front desk - not helpful. Make you feel like you are bothering them when you ask for assistance. Manager did not even take time to speak to me when I requested to speak to Veronica No working bank machine Pool full of sand - not the staff's fault people are rude. Should maybe supervise pool area since it is close to beach West jet rep never around to assist us. Won't use west jet vacations again No VIP treatment- no beer in fridge - had to ask our house keeper. In Mexico the Sirenis gives VIP welcome gift, upgraded room, upgraded mini bar. Sirenis in Punta Cana does not compare to other Sirenis hotels.

Enjoyable Resort

Stayed at the Sirenas Cocotal Mar.20-27 2015.This resort is very clean everywhere,rooms,lobby, washrooms,restaurants etc.and the staff were always friendly and provided service with a smile.We found the food to be better than usual,with a good variety to choose from.We went to the steak house and the asian a la cartes and they were both good.Never had any problem getting lounge chairs at the pool or beach no matter what time of day.Our price was $900.00/person all in.Would not hesitate to return [... read more] to this resort.Travelled with my two sons aged 29 & 25 and I am 60.Thanks again to all the staff who made this holiday enjoyable and relaxing...

Wonderful sun and fun

we had 13 of us, 2 14 year olds and the rest adults and we had a great time no complaints at all the place was beautiful and clean good food and we had 1 guy who ate 24/7 he loved it. the service was great the maids were great the pool was clean the beach was wonderful and the snokeling was nice and you did not have to go out far to do it. Slightly Above average overall

The resort had great landscaping. Beach was spacious and pools. Only two complaints...food was below average, meat over cooked and food was sometimes hard and dry. Other downfall is the majority of the staff could not speak English...mostly spoke Spanish. Kids had a great time overall. The front desk was too lay back. Had to complain about our room with the strong smell of cleaning chemical they try to use to cover the smoking and mouldy room. I had some reaction to the air in the room that took me 3 days to clear my lungs and 2 restless nights. Staff were friendly in the restaurants n through out the hotel...just didn't speak English

Enjoyable Stay

Grounds were nice, food was good - buffet got a bit boring but the Restaurants ( we went to Mexican, Steakhouse, American and Italian) were all very good! Frandi - our waiter from Route 66 (american restaurant) left a lasting impression - as did all the staff from that restaurant.

Fantastic

The resort was nice. The weather was absolutely beautiful. I went with a party of 4 and we all loved the resort. We had a yellow bracelet. I don't like the fact that it's divided into levels. Should treat all their guests equally. The yellow bracelet gets you a hotel style room with super hard beds (lowest on the totem pole, had to pay for wifi and safe...all other levels were included with better beds). We requested an upgrade (even offered to pay whatever we had too) and we were told they would get ahold of us by the nights end....they must have forgot. The weather was enough to make up for it though. The water park is great for kids. For that reason alone we are going back next year with our children. We got a tour (time share) of the resort and I now know to get a gold or silver room for a family of 4 or more. The food was good (no one got sick), and staff was friendly. Rene from the beach/pool area is great. I was looking for a coconut drink and he was sure to find one for me. He scurried off quick as he didn't want a tip (but we chased him). He asked our group to do an excursion only once when others came to us each day often . We were there for R&R. It's rated as a 4 star....if your on the Tropical side in a better room (gold,silver, platinum), I would concur. Our room was far far from a 4 star.

Great Family Vacation

My husband and I stayed at this resort with our 4 year old son. The resort is very family friendly and we enjoyed our stayed. The rooms were beautiful and the grounds very well maintained. The staff were nice but very little English was spoken at the resort which made things difficult, we had a good time anyway.
