Great Resort

After many vacations to Cuba our week at Iberostar Daiquiri was as good as it gets. This was our fourth time to this resort so obviously we enjoy this place and this time everything was exceptional. Our room ideally located,the staff worked hard and were exceedingly pleasant and fun to be with. Since it was off season the buffet changed location for supper several times and the final night was set up by the pool. The other guests at the resort were a fun bunch who seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves and forget the outside world during their vacation. The beach was really good and the new jetty a welcome addition especially if one likes to fish. The resort is small and older but well maintained which we enjoyed more then some of the new resorts with all their glitter.

2 Star Hotel

I just came back from a week long vacation at the Iberostar Daiquiri (Oct/19) and was not extremely impressed with the overall quality of the hotel. Although it was clean it was quite old. We were 3 people so the room that was provided for us was a king bed and my son had to sleep on a pull out couch. There were days when the maid staff did not re-fill the fridge with water and pop. The main bathrooms were constantly out of toilet paper, they unplugged the hand dryers and there was never any soa [... read more]p in the dispensers. The pool bar snacks were not great and only ran in the afternoon. There was nothing available past 10 p.m. As it was off season the resort decided to close 1/2 of the amenities so their was only 1 ala cart available each night. They advised me they were full but a 1/3 of the tables were empty and did not have any place settings. The night time entertainment was severely lacking. We went to the night club to see the dancers each night. When they had games they were basically drinking games against the staff. The entertainment lacked any real creativity. The lobby had singers most nights and they were excellent. The night club then closed for the evening so everyone had to congregate at the lobby bar. I attempted to use the gym one day but thought I was going to pass out from heat exhaustion as the room did not have any air conditioning. The staff for the most part was very friendly although there were a few men who were a bit pushy for attention. Weather was amazing and the beach was clean and comfortable.

THE BEST STAFF IN THE WORLD!

This resort should pride themselves on the staff they have working for them. I will never forget my experience there with all the entertainers. Jormer Entenza was the most incredible host. Clean hotel and the views of the beach was worth every moment. However, I experienced an unfortunate incident of harassment by another guest and their party and nothing was done to assist me. WestJet Vacations was also notified about the incident and did nothing as well.

Peaceful resort

I thought the staff did an amazing job when you consider the lack of tourists due to the collapse of Thomas cook...went out of their way to entertain us......pools were great....lots of activities....and the food wasn't all that bad....rooms were old but clean....still trying to get things back after last hurricane....problems were dealt with as quickly as possible....my husband and I would definitely return here

Room for major imrovement

Hotel is in declining repair, common areas, hall ways all in need of paint and updated lighting. Our room was ok but was missing light bulbs, very common theme in most rooms. Buffet was typical and menu never changed. Specialty restaurants were better option. Pool area was good but resort ran out of towels. Would not recommend this resort and would not consider returning. Beach area in terrible shape with no maintenance, no effort to fix walkways, tidy up loungers, groom the beach area.

Iberostar daiquiri

I hav been to the daiquiri 14 times enjoyedit each time.you get to know the staff and they become your family. It is a small resort easy access to every thing and beautiful beach.that you can enjoy a long walk to see the sun rise or later sun set.

It's Cuba...and I love it everytime!!!

I have been to Iberostar Daiquiri 3 times. It is pleasant, beautiful and relaxing. The grounds are clean, precise and organized. The hospitality is amazing. Yanet at the lobby bar is attentive to your needs and diligent to ensure you are hydrated. The beach is beautiful. Miguel the lifeguard is so friendly and full of information regarding Cuba and all within the beautiful country. If you have a chance to take the bus to Pillar Beach; do it!!! Great resort to visit!

The grounds were well kept. Staff were very friendly and hard working. No bugs were seen in my room. The mosquitos were a little bad at night but I brought bug spray with me. I did see them fogging the area at dusk and dawn. Beach was awesome and beautiful.... loved the pier and swimming/snorkeling with the fish. Food was not bad either. There was always fresh fish available. Bread was yummy and not as bothersome as our Canadian preservative filled bread! Very disappointed 😡

We just got back from our vacation at Iberostar Daiquiri our experience there was terrible. I put a request for joint room's and I did not get that, the food was not at all at the standards of a 4 1/2 star hotell we had to wait in lines to get the food we got our room even not side-by-side but just cross the hallway with each other the first room that we got was two twin beds with sofa bed for three people and the other room was exactly the same we went to the bathroom we flush a toilet and  [... read more] the flash did not work we did not have hot water so I went downstairs I complain they changed the room they give me a king bed with sofa bed still not just beside each other just cross each now me and my husband we had to separate to sleep with the kids because we couldn't leave two kids sleep in one room by themself without an adult supervision. We went to take the beach towels the first day they told us they did not have towels so either we take the towels that they have there which they were very old and ripped at the sides or we stay with no towels for that day so we need to wait until next day . Next day they still had no towels they told me come in about 2 hours after 2 hours I got finally the towels, two of them war ripped and very bad stained we're talking about a condition like they might be used for 20 years that's how bad the towels were. If we wanted to change the towels we had to make sure that they were towels there otherwise we had to carry our towels everywhere we go with us. The beach was okay I was expecting much better. The show at night was very poor not at all excitement there were no activities at all at the beach or anywhere ,if you don't know how to speak Spanish you would be served the last one . On Friday Saturday and Sundays they were locals they were coming to the resort and they will get better service than you that you paid more than them I've nothing against anybody but at least everybody need to be treated equally. Because you don't speak their language you don't need to be miss treat it , for me this was a very disappointed trip. Mosquitoes at night they would kill you they did not spray at all so they wouldn't have mosquitoes around the resort when I got to speak with somebody that they were on a different resort close to us they had better service they had a more activities to do they had better service in the rooms the food is kind of the same everywhere you go make sure you guys get pills for diarrhea because from the food and cups that they weren't clean at all my husband got diarrhea and we had to pay a 100 pesos to get medication. They said that they had the kids club I never saw the kids club open. Based on my experience this resort wouldn't even get 2 Star. I recommend everybody get insurance because you never know what will happen there. It was a very nice Beach called a Pilar Beach there you would get the bus which it will cost you five pesos per personwill and 2 pesos for a chair , it takes you about 20 minutes to get there but then you had to pay everything from your pocket was nothing included . The beach there was amazing so if you think to go to Cuba Cayo Coco I recommend you go to Pilar resort the food might be the same but the beach and the service will be better than Iberostar

I like Cuba 🇨🇺 Very nice place and I have great memories . Awesome beach , friendly staff great food, clean rooms. I made beautiful pictures. I would recommend this great resort. Place where to return.

Iberostar daiquiri 4+

This resort was beautiful , the grounds are very well kept and the beach is breathtaking . Staff are very welcoming and took care of every need . I traveled with a small child and a person with mobility issues and we had zero problems . Kids club , ramps etc . I would 100% recommend this resort for family's and couples looking for a mellow getaway !!

Great little resort

Beautiful little resort. Very clean with beautiful grounds. Public washrooms exceptionally clean at any time during the day. Food surprisingly good, lots of choices of fish and meat for the grill. Lots of fruit, even my husband got addicted to mango. Nice and warm people. Definitely a place to come back.

Good resort

The food was great for Cuba. The meals were fresh The buffet had many food selections. The service at the lounge was slow. My impression was they weren't enough staff. If you are looking for a 5* this isnt the place. I have been to Cuba several times. The rooms in this hotel was good for Cuban standards The cleaning staff were good.

One of Cuba's best!!

This resort is very clean. Cubans are usually so friendly and helpful and this was so true of the resort. Food is plentiful and lots of fruit and vegetables. Rarely a line up at the bars. Room was clean and air-conditioning worked. Always able to find a lounge chair at the beach and pool. One of Cuba's best!!

Good resort, a little dated

Resort clean, but rooms a little dated, staff friendly, and helpful, Selection of Food good, Coffee maker but no coffee ? Pool area clean, bar staff good, some better than others Entertainment in lobby at night excellent, great selection

You can try it

I stayed here May 19th 30th 2019. Front desk service was excellent and professional . Not every resort can see this. Customer service good but get a TV remote control what it really works takes 5 days. That's okay I get only one channel by manually I did not go to Guillermo watch TV in the room. It is a older resort the buildings are good shape. Room always clean nice no complain. Eastside boardwalk pretty danger first time to go on. Do not watch the oceanYou should watch where you step many place missing boards. I nearly broke my ankle . 7th visit not disappointed

We have returned to this resort for our 7th visit. The 1st thing that happened when we arrived at the hotel. We were met by management, to welcome us back. We had requested a specific room and early check in. Both these request were met. The Hotel staff are one of the main reasons we return. Very helpful and happy to see you. Our room faced the beach and was taken care of quite well by housekeeping. The beach is cleaned every Morning. Not what we expected

---------- PROS - SMALL RESORT let me move around with my limited mobility. I saw many other people with canes, young and old who also appreciated that everything was very close to the room - AMAZING LOCATION. This hotel is on the bus tour that brings you to Playa Pilar and to other resorts for shopping and the open top double decker is fun to ride on it's own. - LOVELY STAFF (those that hadn't turned complacent) were amazing. It's always humbling to meet people who work so hard in t [... read more]he service industry (six days a week) and still manage to be kind and genuinely smiling and friendly. - TOP NOTCH ENTERTAINMENT, every member of the entertainment team was always smiling and happy, ready to joke and play and bring you into some fun play time. - GOOD RESTAURANTS. We ate at the Cuban and Mexican restaurants. The staff was very gracious and accomodating and allowed us to be seated early on both nights. ---------- CONS - SHOWING WEAR AND TEAR. Nothing stays broken; everything that needs to be repaired seems to be. There was a brand new part of the boardwalk between the beach restaurant and the beach, but another part of it was corded off because it had collapsed at some point. The rails on our balcony were secure and looked like they are getting the maintenance they need to be safe. On the other hand, small things that have had constant wear and tear aren't being replaced (bathroom mirror in our room), the coffee machine in the lobby is missing buttons and knobs and the one at the pool bar was broken on two occasions while we were there. - COFFEE (espresso/cafe con leche) was one of the major disappointments. It was really hit and miss depending on who served it. It was stretched out and terribly weak at the lobby bar but much better at the pool bar. - CLEANLINESS suffers terribly at this resort. Our room was always clean but I think they must be short staffed as the walls in the ladies stalls in the lobby bathroom are desperately in need of a good cleaning, and the same spots and streaks that were plain to see on my first day there (beside and behind the toilet and under the toilet paper dispenser) were still there one week later. Given that they don't notice or attend to the areas around the toilet I'm pretty sure nobody is going around cleaning doorknobs or toilet latches. Bring hand sanitizer. - POLITICS among the staff members. Petty things like a bartender making a point of showing his colleague that he was putting the tip I gave him in a jar and a waitress looking around before accepting a tip. - FOOD was probably the biggest reason I won't recommend this place. At every meal my husband and I wondered if what we were going to eat would make us sick. Stick to the food made to order at the grill. My husband saw a cockroach hanging around the prepared salads the third night we were there and not long after I picked out a piece of cucumber that had fuzzy mold on it. We both flew home with mild diarrhea and I still don't feel completely recovered (2 days later) - NOISY AND BRIGHT in the room at night. We were put in a room right above the lobby so we had front row for everything that was going on in the lobby from 8 pm till at least midnight, including the typical party people noise as well as the marching band that trooped everyone from the lobby to the show one night. I considered asking for a different room but didn't want to risk spending the energy moving to another room that was dirty or had something broken so we stayed put and dealt with it. The brightness was from a gap around the door that ranged from between 1/4" at the top and sides to at least 1" at the bottom and from the air conditioning unit (that we were never able to adjust) ---------- OTHER - SUPER WINDY - we learned the reason this place was great for kite surfing - the wind was incessant and strong. One of the staff told us that May is typically windy so this might not be the case at other times of the year but after a day or two of the sound and feel of constant wind you start to yearn for silence and the sound of ocean waves. This was my fifth time to Cuba and it definitely won't be my last but I'll be sticking to the newer 5 star resorts from now on.

One of Cuba's best

The last resort I went to in Cuba had a peeling pool, housekeeping who took the towels and didn't return, did not give toilet paper.. This place was amazing!! Clean, updated. Food was great, plentiful and there were vegetables! Bacon every day! Coffee always better at the bar. Always a lounge chair at the pool and at the beach. People always friendly and helpful. Shows were good. highly recommend

Very good for the price resort

The grounds are beautiful. It's very green as weĺl. There are palm trees and a lot of blooming flowers The rooms are big and there is everything that you may need and in good condition. Public areas are clean and well serviced. The beach itself is nice exept that there is a vegetation in the water . The hotel buildings are facing the beach and the view is awesome.
