Very clean a lot of characters to the buildings of the resort, natural nature surrounds you, enjoyed the quietness. Staff are truly amazing, it's nice to see the manager on sight. Friendly chef who came out and, chat with us.

The friendliest people!

We got back yesterday from a week at the Rex in Grenada. We were blown away by the friendliness of the staff and people of Grenada!! The hotel was also a bonus in the sense that it was everything we could have asked for in a resort. Not posh, food was ample and a big enough variety for us and it was so safe, we never worried about our bags on the beach or having any harm come to us. If you are looking for an exclusive resort that pampers you with haute cuisine this is not the place for you but i [... read more]f you like smaller resorts with a family like feel and are not too fussy about getting the prime rib at dinner, this is the place for you. We hope to get back to Grenada at some point and hope to return to the Rex when we do!

Spectacular Setting, Perplexing Dancing Incident

The resort rooms are a bit small and basic, but functional. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable. The grounds are large, with two beach areas that are essentially private. Many birds are on the property. Fish and coral are observable from the resort beaches. The clientele is largely older. We were disappointed with the band on one evening. I tried twice to get an explanation from the resort manager, however, the manager did not seem interested in talking with me. The entire incident was bizarre. Other evenings we enjoyed dancing to live musicians. While this is a very minor issue, we would have enjoyed dancing, would like to have understood why the musicians that evening apparently did not want anyone dancing, and would have liked the opportunity to discuss the incident with the resort manager. It leaves me wondering what the response would have been to something more substantial. Without this one incident I would be far more complimentary of the resort. The island of Granada also has the option of many interesting outings. We walked into St. Georges one day (about 8 km), and took the local bus service back to the resort. It was a great way to get a real perspective on the island. We also took a day trip around the island, a snorkeling catamaran boat trip to an underwater statue park, and a hike to the first two of the seven sisters waterfalls. All were excellent, although we would have preferred a hike to all seven sisters waterfalls rather than just the first two. A word of caution: Even the first two sisters waterfalls are only for the physically fit that don't mind a bit of mud. For all seven sisters, you need to find a guide that knows the area well. My impression was that very few hike to all seven sisters.

Relaxing holiday

The hotel is old (1990s) but clean and well maintained with nice grounds. The food was excellent, and varied, and there were three meals a day plus afternoon tea at 4 o'clock. A friendly staff who were always cheerful and helpful. Well worth a second visit and several guests were repeat visitors. It is far enough south to get good weather in January.

MOST WONDERFUL

What an experience! My first trip to an island on an all-inclusive vacation was a memory I will always cherish. The resort was expansive, lush wish greenery and the view of the Caribbean Sea took my breath away. The resort was clean but in need of some updates; every member of the staff were overly attentive to our needs and they simply could not do enough for us to ensure our stay was everything it could be and more. Great Value

conveniently located, well kept grounds, friendly staff, good food selection, clean rooms , beautiful beach, relaxed and inviting atmosphere, good entertainment, has a true Caribbean flavour, would definitely return

Laid back in paradise

Nice relaxed resort - but if night life and ordering meals from a menu is important to you this resort will likely disappoint. Food quality is good, and you have to be creative yourself to mix up your menu since meals are buffets. There is one al a carte (Asian cuisine) but it was only so so. The resort is super close to the airport, but there is little air traffic noise - you'll be at the resort quickly on arrival! the staff were excellent, and the people of Grenada super friendly. Pool area is lovely with terrific sunsets - it's an elevated pool so lovely vistas from here. Food at the Aquarium restaurant/bar on the next beach was excellent too.

A good. resort

all over it was a good stay but the New year party was prepared just for local VIPs The guest were not allowed in certens areas The room was clean and the house keeper did a good job The Mandarin restaurant did't impress me to much

Ok entry level into Grenada

If you want to go to Grenada and cannot afford the higher priced resorts this is a good entry level into the Island of Grenada. Grenada is beautiful and the people are wonderful. This resort is no more than a three star. Do not go if you have any mobility issues as there are lots of stairs and the wheelchair accessible areas are not that friendly. The beach is nice...beautiful views from the pool area however it is not a great walking beach. It is very quiet on the beach so that is really nice.  [... read more]The water is amazing and you can snorkel right off the beach. If you go out further you can see bigger and more varied fish. The food is very hit and miss. You won't starve but you will be bored out of your skull with the lack of food choices. There is also not much for vegetarians. The whole place needs refurbishing and the beds are rock solid and the pillows really bad. If I got this hotel for a good price I would not hesitate to go as I know what I am getting. I took the bus into Grand Anse Beach and that beach is amazing. Only 5 EC into town and about 10 minute drive. You could walk.

A place to relax and have fun

An older but well maintained facility in a beautiful setting with spacious gardens and a beach you can relax on. Rooms are large and comfortable with firm mattresses and lots of hot water. Staff are friendly, efficient, and always have time to chat and provide assistance. Although there was a limited selection food was very tasty and well prepared. Menu's changed daily. Entertainment was limited but good quality, and so nice to dance earlier instead of waiting for a midnight disco! It's also easy to catch the local bus or a taxi to town and you will find all Grenadian's are friendly and helpful. We will return to this hotel.

Awesome view

The pool bar was fun and view was amazing they should have snacks between meals . Clean hallways and get a vacuum for the carpets. Grounds r kept nice. More activities and put different snacks at tea.

A Hidden Gem

The hotel complex is a little old but is clean and well cared for. The rooms are clean and quaint. The beach and the grounds were amazing. The food was excellent. All the staff were friendly, helpful and amazing. It was a very interesting and relaxing vacation and I would definitely return again.

Rex Grenadian

Hotel with exterior was nice, specially hotel territory. It has nice little beach with nice view but there were traders constanly bothering you. Hotel was not overcrowded what was good. Finally it was worht of value because island is something different from other caribean islands :)

Good value for money

We enjoyed our one-week vacation at the Rex Grenadian. The only drawback that we had was that the best tour of Grenada was from one of the people on the beach who was not allowed to bring his taxi onto the property. We went to the hill and saw the monkeys which he was able to entice from the forest. ALL OTHER TOUR guides just stood at their vehicles talking with other drivers while ours took the time, enticed the monkeys with bananas and got the monkeys to sit on the grandchildren etc. Took us t [... read more]o the fish where they aid from our hands with bread that our taxi driver provided. Rex needs to rethink who they use as tour operators for the local country.

Wonderful vacation

We had an oceanview room and it was fabulous. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. We found that while there was an a la carte restaurant the buffet was always good with a large variety of choices. Staff were fantastic. Friendly, helpful and accommodating. The resort is just a short walk from Philipsburg and we walked there nearly every day.

Very relaxing

The food was very good and service,beauty full Isle to visit, tour of the Isle was educational and breath taken,been to many Isle before would defenetly go back if possible and the Rex is 2 minutes from the airport.
