Beautiful location!

We enjoyed a week in this resort over the Christmas break. All I can say is that everything was perfect. Weather, location, grounds and service were amazing. If you are looking for a laid back resort than pick this location, we had all our requests fulfilled.

Beautiful resort!!!

The rooms have been updated, grounds are well manicured and water in the bays clean and clear. Were able to watch fish swimming around our feet. Food was good and lots of it would go again!!!!! Great value for money spent.

Great spot

Good food good a la carts. Lots of stairs and walking but shuttles are always close by. There are three beaches so a good variety. On the weekend there are lots of locals who come so things get very busy.

Love Huatulco

This hotel is more for the able bodied. There are stairs everywhere. The rooms are up the side of the mountain so you need to take a golf cart to get to them. For the young its perfect and for families as well. The food was not great. It was ok but not great. Beautiful beaches in the Bay. Great for those who like to snorkel.

Las Brisas Hutatulco

Back from a great vacation the weather was fantastic high30c . The room was great the beds were very great to. This is not a place for a person that doesn't like to walk a lot of hills. But you can call and they will pick you up and drop you off any ware. this is our second time at this hotel and would recommend it food was excellent .And all the staff 100%you have to give it and try and see it for yourself . One thing after you are baking in the hot sun and have a good tanned . You have a littl [... read more]e burn on yourself a day our two before you go home. Take that few min taxi trip and go for a mud bath well worth the 12 p go and enjoy and feel like a million bucks after words.

Pleasant Resort!

There are a lot of positives about this Pacific Beach Resort. We love to swim in the ocean and the three sheltered beaches enjoyed by this large resort are great for that. An added bonus is the reef / snorkeling which is the focus of one of the beaches. Also there is a pleasant paved walkway connecting all three beaches - the path itself is an interesting journey that meanders with changing vistas of rockface, vegetation and seawall & includes glimpses of exotic birds and sunning iguanas. The [... read more] resort itself is large and sprawling with 2-storey residential groupings sited on rocky hillsides and connected with a network of narrow winding roadways and integrated with treed green areas. There is plenty of opportunity for interesting walks or if you prefer there is a continuous "taxi service" which provides welcome walking relief while titillating with fun rides that are reminiscent of Disney theme parks. The resort is very clean and well kept. Rooms are large with ocean views and upscale bathrooms. Food is a notch above most "all inclusive" resorts we have visited in the past though we thought it was a shame that the main buffet restaurant was closed in and air-conditioned rather than open to the beautiful ocean frontage. We are retired seniors and were very comfortable with the low key pace of this resort but we expect that the lack of lively "night life" would discourage a younger demographic. Overall the staff was friendly and attentive and we were well served throughout our visit. The only sour note was the fact that they are a bit "anal" when it comes to currency exchange. I attempted to change a $20 bill at the front desk and was told that they needed my passport to do that ! (Give me a break! this would have involved about a half return trip to my room - just to make change for a registered guest! The bottom line is I didn't tip that night - a loss for the waiters). The lesson in that is make sure you prepare for your trip by ensuring you have enough low denomination currency in dollars or pesos before you arrive. There are no ABM's on the site and a bank visit requires a short trip to town.

Huatulco - Las Brisas

The strength of this resort are its grounds and beaches which are exceptional. The hotel is laid out as a series of villages strung along a rocky coastline with central services. The service is very good and the food plentiful and favourable. The facilities are not fancy but well kept and transportation around the site is continuous. Sanitation is very good and there are no bugs or other crawly creatures. Lots of tours and family activities are available. Nine out of ten.

Couldn't be better!

What's not to like? Three separate and different beaches, 3 pools and beautifully maintained grounds. Twelve quality tennis courts, squash and pickle ball courts and a fully equipped modern gym. Modern room, balcony with ocean view, flat TV and wifi in the room. Nice buffet restaurant and 5 nice a la cartes. 10 straight days of sunshine and 31 degrees. The resort is built on the side of a cliff so there is no end of stairs. There are a number of golf cart style buggies to transport guests a [... read more]round and they are frequent. Still, this is not a place for people with mobility issues. Tourist mix was 45% Canadian, 45% Mexican nationals and 10% other. We truly enjoyed it and will be back.

Weather guaranteed

What I liked: the gym, the food, I saw colourful, tropical birds, 1/2 hour ride from airport, everyone was so nice. The weather was consistent, amazing pools, grounds were well kept, clean. Coffee was yummy! The walk up to the room was good for me because i like to exercise but not good for people with mobility issues. Pacific side seems more authentic. Earth quake tremor... real cool experience although I was scared and glad it was minor, would have been good to know in advance that they are not uncommon.

We had so many great experiences.

Las Brisas, a beautiful, well maintained, and well serviced locale where you can have some unique experiences. Our Transat vacation was on time, hassle free and their representative, Sophie, very professional. The weather was perfect at 30 C, with a breeze off the ocean. We spent most of our vacation in or on the ocean, snorkelling, on site (first time saw octopus, yellow puffer fish and green starfish) and tour ( Transat chosen rep) the boat was too small for 11 people, but the staff were sup [... read more]erb, Pepe and Thomas). I would say if you go to Maguey beach I would eat the chips and drink the bucket of Corona. Otherwise, eh. We did the shared fishing. If your spouse doesn't fish they may be able to attend for free. Don't take this intending to catch fish, it is fishing not catching, we caught nothing but we were in a flock of dolphins so large the water boiled with their activity. We saw dozens of sea turtles and had a beautiful day at sea. The water was clear and warm. We sea kayaked and spent a couple of hours in the adult pool, loved the stairs with water cascading down to pool, nice to sit in the heat. The city tour was great. Archie was our host and he kept our 4.5 hours fully entertaining. We had a brief overview of geography, history, present and past, enjoyed special lookouts, eating grasshoppers, drinking mezcal, and made a special stop so my wife could look at jewelry. The food was okay. We had upgraded to take advantage of the al a carte, but we don't eat at nine o'clock and that was the only timing we could get. On that note, upgrading, you don't get robes, if you order a drink you are supposed to get premium liquor, possible if you ask every time. The view was awesome. There was a point directly in front of 4205, one night at 17:00 we sat on the chairs with our drink and a humpback whale breached six, frickin times in a row, incredible. Now what bugged me. They have a flag system for the beach. Responsible and great idea. It never changed from red, (do not swim) except for about 12 hours during our stay. It was perfectly safe and at times optimal for swimming, so no confidence in flags. Boy you have to hope you are not there when it is truly busy. Our first 5 days, Feb 17 to 22 the service, availability of lounges etc were great, the last two days were yuck. Our table was given away when we went for our desserts, people were putting their towels on lounges to preserve their spot, it just didn't feel the same. We experienced our first earthquake, 4.8 x 2, and I did not feel too confident if something greater were to happen. It was an awesome holiday, and the staff of las Brisas can be proud of how professional they are to handle what they do with such poise and dignity.

Amazing resort!

Wonderful room, food, weather, and amazing beaches. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed our stay very much. Late night entertainment sound from outside stage carried up to rooms, so it was hard to sleep sometimes

Fabulous place for a holiday

The hotel was first class,clean and well maintained.The beaches were amazing,very clean,no rip tides and great snorkling. The food was excellent,lots of variety and often cooked to your request. Hotel people were friendly and always willing to help. There are very good side trips available for those who want to get away from the hotel for a day. The nearby town was clean,safe and friendly. We are already planning for a return trip. There were lots of stairs to navigate but an excellent shuttle [... read more] system eased the strain. This would not be an ideal place for people with mobility issues.

What do you really want out of a vacation?

It all depends on what you want. Huatulco is a quiet safe getaway haven. With guaranteed sunshine and hot weather. This is a for sure. It is 8 hrs south of Acapulco. The area is not heavily populated and is very peaceful and safe. Las Brisas is one of the largest hotels in the area. About 30 minutes from the airport. The hotel is split up in to different sections. We booked a supreme room and we were disappointed for no view and it was at the bottom floor. Overall it was very clean but not what  [... read more]we expected. We chose to upgrade and were very satisfied since we had a view of the ocean and sunrise daily. Along with the upgrade you got rid of the pink wristband and got beige one with extra perks. For example premium liquor/beer and a hospitality room for early light breakfast and snacks and drinks from 5 to 7 pm. This was a nice perk. Now understand everywhere you go you have steps to climb. There is transportation on small mini buses/carts to take you there but regardless there are always steps you need to climb. If you have a person in a walker/wheelchair or problem walking do not bother booking this hotel. However if you do not mind climbing steps then it is fine. The grounds are awesome a little parched between the months of Dec to May however rainy season jun to Sept all the vegetation comes too life. The beaches are by far the best beaches in the area. I have asked the locals and they all agreed beaches are the best. Better than other more expensive hotels in the area. Now what about the food. Well there is only so much you can eat. The specialty restaurants were disappointing. The food was not what we expected at all. Service was not the best as it was slow in these restaurants. It appeared the staff rotated through all of the restaurants I asked why the reply was so they all know understand the themes. This I believe leads to a lack of consistency and the service suffers. However the buffet restaurant was decent. It had a variety of food that changed daily and was good. The people that complained the most were the ones that went back to the buffet 2 or 3 times with heaping food on their plates so give me a break. This food was good. Breakfast buffet was very good in the Mexican restaurant and had a variety of food. Keep in mind this is Mexico if you want Denny's then stay home. Overall the food was not the best but was decent. Night entertainment was decent some good bands played and there were lots of people dancing including my wife and I. Pool area was great 3 pools to choose from 1 kiddy pool one family pool and an adult pool. Towels were in abundance anytime. There were lots of chairs to choose from on the 3 beaches and extra were placed on the grassy areas under palm trees. Never had an issue with this. My first time in Huatulco and I really enjoyed it. But if you are a food critic then you may be disappointed. However why are you on vacation to get sun rest and swim in the beautiful ocean or eat? That is your choice. Overall I had a great time the group of us all enjoyed it very much. BTW they had a couple of sail boats and at least 8 kayaks to use at no expense.

Perfect for us.

The resort was super friendly and accommodating even with the language challenge. The beaches were refreshing and clean and quiet. The walks up and down hills were a ltitle tough but we'll needed as we ate too much of the good food. Rides to the rooms were available but we rarely used them. We even tried paddle boarding for the fist time. What Fun!

Beautiful beaches

the beaches were fabulous, the weather 33 everyday, the a la cart restaurants were very bland and not much of a menu selection, the public washrooms weren't clean on a hour basis missed toilet paper and drying tissue a lot. Our room they only give you one face cloth and two towels it took 20 minutes for hot water, very frustrating on our arrival we had to call maintenance because we had a pipe that had busted in our washroom ceiling water puddle on floor. The entertainment in theater was ok only [... read more] on weekends the music in main area always the same and she sang the same songs for 2 weeks straight the length of our stay and they don't have enough seating

Beautiful resort

Loved the resort. The grounds were immaculately well kept. The staff always courteous, and willing to help. However in certain areas more staff is needed, such as waiters serving drinks on the beach. Food in general was good but could be improved in ala cart menu. I would definitely recommend to a friend, noting there are numerous. stairs but a trolley is always available.

Beautiful Destination and Resort!!

We enjoyed our 2 weeks at Las Brisas. The resort is a bit older (1988 I believe) however is well maintained and always some staff cleaning up grounds, beach, pool area, bars etc. And doing it with a smile!!! The beaches are incredible NO CRASHING WAVES. I believe better than beaches at newer resorts like Dreams etc. which are in area as well because at this resort is at end of Bay. Could always find a place on the beach and a quiet spot if you wanted to be away from the action. Clear waters to see fish even without the snorkeling gear. Stairs could be a concern however shuttles readily available if need be. We choose to do stairs to get our daily exercise in. Free use of kayaks, paddle boards, wind surfers etc. Closest town a short taxi ride away was clean and safe, nicest Mexican town I have visited. All around awesome quieter area and we will be back!!! Weather is consistent too ... hot hot hot!!!!

Great Place to Relax

Great resort for relaxing.Sandy beaches for swimming, 3 beaches spread out, good snorkelling at a couple, big grassy area with lots of shade behind one. Nice paved Oceanside walkway between beaches. Great landscaping with planted stuff worked in with natural vegetation, lots of greenery between buildings. Less competition to reserve beach chairs, poolside chairs available all the time. Pool never busy. No beach vendors due to natural topography on both sides of resort. Controlled Vendors allowed [... read more] to set up tables only on Saturdays. About 50/50 mix of Mexican and Canadian visitors, very few from other countries. Only key staff had good knowledge of English, and only a few waiters, but they try hard, a good place for us to practise our Spanish. Overall lots of walking as the resort is spread out but shuttle rides readily available. All rooms are spread out across several ridge tops and at lot of stairs to get down to the beaches, we counted 171 steps down from our room. Also stairs up to the lobby, no elevators anywhere. The rooms are overly spacious, top floors have the best views of the ocean. Lack of advertising of activities, found out later they have a handout of weekly activities but had to request it at reception, not offered at checkin. Otherwise only daily boards at lobby and at theatre level so you had to make a special trip up the stairs to find out what's going on. Typical loud music around main pool/bar area and most activities there except water sports at one beach. Paved tennis, bball, vball and soccer areas as well as grassed soccer field but not much used. There is a beach vball court but nets never up and no one to play. Beach level bars closed too early at 5 since ocean was very warm and swim able until dark. Main bar open in evening to serve pool clients and pre dinner drinks but too hot to sit around the lounge area. Theatre shows were good but only 4 nights a week. Buffet sometimes has lineups, ran out of guacamole and yicama a few days but there were overall adequate food choices and service was generally good. Mexican was great, outdoor romantic setting by the sea, with flow through breezes. authentic food. Kasbah has terrible seating down low not comfortable, food was good, great belly dancing. Some of the waiters were slack as to service, not refilling drinks. Mediterranean so-so, nothing really outstanding but indoors and air conditioned was nice. Pescado was open air seafood, but too hot lack of air circulation. good meal but too close to main lounge so some noise pollution. Solarium another outdoor open air restaurant by the sea, good steaks. A la carte restaurant reservations were through concierge in lobby, a bit inconvenient unless you want to book them all at once. Dress code relaxed in a la carte restaurants to allow shorts due to hot climate, but too slack in enforcement, allowed tshirts and bare feet in some cases.

Great resort ,best benches, great tour ,people friendly very good food ,only problem no pool bar and lots of kids no additional place for adults and restaurants that was said to be adults only was not ,no restaurant no place for a romantic restaurants for adults

Great Staff! Good food, beverages, pool and beaches. Quite hilly. Not for those with mobility issues. Toilet and phone not fixed after 7 day stay. Nice but just not enough cleanliness to get past 4 stars. Dreams is still #1 on Tangolunda Bay!
