Ok resort

The first two a la carte’s food choices were pretty much the same. Our third a la carte was the Romantico, I had asked when we booked it to have a cake. Before we went to dinner I double checked about the cake and was told everything was set up. The waitress came over and asked about our choice for dessert. I was sitting there looking at her like really. Then she went over to the hostess they were looking at each other like they had no clue. The hostess came over and told us that we were  [... read more]at the wrong table. Eventually a cake came out. But my husband was not surprised. I did let the know consiaire witch was a waste of time. I had also asked to have the maid do something special in our room, however our friends told her not to clean our room. So I asked her if she was asked to do something special for my husbands birthday and she said no. I also found it hard when speaking with the staff. The language bearer was difficult. As for the buffet there could be more choices. I found every time it was the same food. There need to be more choices especially for kids.

An amazing 14 days of Rest and Relaxation

Playa Pesquero is a warm welcoming resort with something for everyone. The beach is beautiful, the water clear and shallow and staff are friendly and helpful. The resort is situated on the beach, you can literally walk from the lobby down the boulevard over the bridge that is over the pool down to the beach. The Al a Cart restaurants offer well presented dishes, the daily buffet does not have a lot of variety, but you won't starve. Now that l have experienced the 14 day stay l wouldn't go for any less time.

Very nice resort

Due to Coved it has been three years since our last visit. We found the resort still to be one of our best places to stay. The staff are so friendly and nice to everybody which has never changed. Will be returning again soon.

Nice vacation

Hotel is too large to get the rest. It is so many people and is very noisy. Also is too inconvienience to go anywhere. Great beautiful resort

The resort is very beautiful with all amenities you may need, pool area is great, beach is very nice but right now there are lots of shortages for food and drinks. Rooms are a bit outdated. We will definately come back when things are back to normal.

Amazing Resort

The hotel and staff were amazing , could always get a beach or pool chair, clean rooms Did not feel like I had to tip all the time but I did One hour drive from airport The food was good but they were short of a lot of Choices, not there fault and somedays could not get red wine

This resort has it all!

Absolutely LOVED our time at Playa Pesquero. The beach is beautiful, clean, spacious, with buttery soft sand and some trees for shade. Snorkeling right there was epic, so much variety, saw something new every day. Lots of beautiful gardens and walking trails to explore. The staff were all super friendly and trustworthy, felt safe and at ease the entire time. Beds were decently comfortable and the pillows were awesome. Rooms always cleaned thoroughly. Drink mix was very limited, bring your own if this matters to you. Coffee bar served delicious fresh ground coffee. Get to the beach early to reserve your chairs for the day. Book water activities at 8am. The pool is huge and beautiful, always space for everyone, with buffet and bathroom close by. **The coral is dying, bring natural sunscreen and avoid chemicals while swimming!** I would definitely return to this resort again!

Snorkel and Massage are the highlights!

The resort is very inviting and the grounds are stunning. The gardening and housekeeping staff are amazing. The coffee bar and staff are the best! I did not get to know the bartenders at all as they had no mix so not being a wine or beer drinker I was not able to partake. The buffet cooks are great and doing the best they can with what they have but the staff clearing and setting tables were not good any of the nights. I was expecting the food to be repetitive as Cuba always is but they are even more limited since the pandemic than ever before. Be prepared to live off of bread, cheese, pork and yuca. Breakfast was the best meal as the omelettes were always amazing. The pizza on the beach is great but line up is long and they are only open for 2 hours. The pool is stunning and nice and cool. Also, I came home with over 60 bug bites on my legs. I think they are possibly sand fleas? Take your snorkel, SO much to see! AND go for a massage! Book early as you will def want to book another.

Beautiful Resort, Amazing Staff

The beach and ocean were spectacular, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The resort is older but very well maintained and beautiful. in Cuba, the food is not amazing on a good day, let alone in pandemic times. Our expectations weren’t high, we’ve been to Cuba several times pre-Covid, but the food was worse than expected. Either too salty or bland, they offered lots of cabbage, tomatoes, pork, rice, plain spaghetti noodles (sometimes red sauce or white sauce if they had it), fresh pa [... read more]paya, canned fruit cocktail, canned tuna, cheese, lunch meat, eggs, & bread. There was not a variety of any sort of vegetables or fresh fruits, no chicken or salads, no potatoes. There weren’t limes or lemons for drinks, or even club soda, tonic or other mixes for alcohol. This was disappointing. Overall it was a good vacation, but until Cuba is able to offer better food/drinks we won’t be paying $1100 per person again to go there. I cannot recommend this resort at this time, especially at the pricing for a vacation there over $1000.

Almost perfect

Everything was even more than expected from a country with a 63 years US embargo. The beach is lovely. The pool area is beautiful and very well kept. The gardeners are doing their job perfectly. The rooms are very good, but for someone who visited luxury places may not like it. Food is good and enough. Just don't go before closing if you want to have a choice. The most beautiful experience was outside the resort when I took a trip to see how the local people live. 10th time back

just got back from 9 days, was excellent weather, supplies are dwindling, no chicken, beef , only pork, getting little sick of that, breakfeast good, but we come back for the people, most honest and loving people and will do what ever they can to make you time there enjoyable, be heading back in March with family, cant wait""

Wonderful Hotel

A huge resort and at the same time incredibly cosy. It’s the staff From front desk check in to every single employee we crossed over the course of the week, I would say A+. Grounds are kept gorgeous, rooms were kept clean and restocked mini fridge daily. Beach was incredible! There wasn’t a huge variety. In fact I ate the same thing for a week. What I ate I loved though. The COVID really really hurt them there. They missed soda waters, Coca Cola, running out of many things. Choice was pork many ways and fish were sardines in cans made many ways. Papaya and bananas were abundance but no other fruit. We felt for them. Didn’t bother us one bit.

Nice place to stay

Gorgeous sandy beach with reefs nearby (pedal catamarans can be booked on site to get there). Clean rooms, friendly staff. Food is quite similar day to day, but tasty. Animation staff is doing a great job!

Still good and popular!

Still well maintained and serviced! There is no green pool here as some had mentioned..sure it may not sparkle due to some shortages,but still clean and clear. Food was plentiful and awesome,as was the alcohol. Unfortunately...pop was scarce...especially cola. Staff are their usual outgoing self and make you feel warm and welcome. BUT if your cigar hunting...good luck. Even the dark market is dry..Cuba has placed a moratorium on their cigars as its the only comodity that is truly tradeab [... read more]le for them. Humidors are just more empty shelf space for the people of Cuba to store dust I'm afraid.

Very good resort

I have stayed in the premium area that has some extra features compared with the regular one I have been before: The buildings have one or 2 levels with 2 rooms per level that have entries on opposite sites The main room is very large and besides the usual amenities has an espresso machine, like a Nespresso small size with capsules. There are 2 entries, each side of the bed, to a large bathroom that has a double sink, a jacuzzi and a shower – the washroom has its own room with a door From [... read more] bathroom through a door, you have access to an outside balcony shower with high walls. The balcony has a twin bed where you can rest. The grounds are well maintained, and the area is quiet. At both snack bar and restaurant, you order the food from a menu. The Los Almacigos restaurant has a small buffet for breakfast and from the menu you can get extras like eggs or pancakes specialties. At the dinner the long pants are required. The food presentation is outstanding. At the beach there is a reserved area for the Premium clients. You can go and use any place on the beach or go to the buffets in the other area with no restrictions. Please get some kind of bug repellent because some of you, especially ladies, will get of lot of bites from Jejen (mosquito or sand flies that you can barely see them) which the locals will pronounce Hehen. Everybody in this area is very attentive to your needs and my special thanks go to Yanet (pronounce Janet), the lady that took care of our room. Enjoy your stay!

Playa Pesquero

This is the second time we (my wife and I) have stayed in Playa Pesquero following are our review, likes and dislikes: 1. Hotel staff are good, friendly and helpful. 2. La playa is always nice 3. Food has always been one of the drawbacks but this time food quality has even deteriorated since the last time we stayed in this hotel 4. Playa Pesquero resort

Just returned December22nd, 2022. I have been to this resort 5 times over the last 10 years. There have been many improvements to this resort, improved night lighting, updated rooms (at least in our area) and updated furniture. The grounds are well maintained, pools clean, and of course the beach is heavenly, lots of chairs and shady areas. Most a-la [... read more]-cartes have the same menu, except for the Gondola and the Romantica which are enjoyable. The buffets are good, again lack of choice, breakfasts are the best. By the way, the Duty free shop at the airport does accept Canadian and U.S. currency. Suggestion, when going to Cuba, bring $10-$20 bills and exchange them with the workers for 10-20 $1 . You'll have lots of tip money and the workers can deposit the bills at their bank. Banks in Cuba do not accept Canadian $1 & $2 dollar coins.

Friendly service. Rooms clean. Enough to eat but choices reduced from previous visits. Plenty to drink. Some excellent wines. Beach waterfront wonderful. Staff are excellent Very pleased with our week there. Massage at spa was wonderful will book again

Best in Cuba

Clean, big but not too big, beautiful beach and snorkeling, fun and happy staff, lots to do, volleyball, ping pong and pull tables and many other games. Gardeners are fun and resourceful always offering a coconut for milk. Bar staff is nice and happy to serve you what they have. Negatives: 2022 Nov: No coke or ginger Elle (bring your own) or just drink your rum neat ;)

So many changes in the resort especially food services and money. My 2019 money is longer good it's garbage so we changed only limited to new pesos for tips.

The weather was fabulous did swimming twice a day, only two days before we left I had Jellyfish stint and it was burning like crazy. However it's now improving. Also the resort is giving one week free for next year booking so I am waiting for there email and let you Neil about it.My remaining pesos from 2019 was no good no more so this time we limit to changed pesos for tips for devices tendered.
