Bad Resort

It was the worst vacation I ever visited in my life. More than 3 hours to check in. The staff were not professional at all .Rarely to find someone speaks English. Rooms were dirty and the service was very bad. Wifi was very slow and most of the times it wasn’t working. Restaurants were all fully booked except Mikado, but i wish we didn’t book there.Although we booked before,we waited an hour and at the end we found cockroaches and insects on walls and on our food table ,It was disgusti [... read more]ng 🤮. Overall, I don’t recommend Bahia Principe Grand Hotel ,and if I am able to rate it less than a star,I will do it. It was a waste of money.

Very disappointing

Very bad experience and not worth a single penny. Cleanness of dishes, spoons, cups is very disgusting. WiFi is garbage Food is not nice. We ate only pizza during our stay Most important, the pools have no filtration and most of the group returned sick with ear infections

Won't be back to the Bahia Principe Punta Cana

No covid changes to any process from what I observed. First room had a lot of mold and with the first rain water came in from the ceiling down the wall. Took a day to get into a new room which at least didn't have mold all over the tub area. The beach was full of seaweed therefore the pool was jammed packed. Resort was full. Buffet food was not the best, lots of overcooked meat in soupy unappealing gravy. Same as the reservation restaurants, totally average to poor. Once you got to Client services the people did do their best to help you but being in line for over an hour each time takes it toll especially when they tell you to come back in a few hours only to be told to come back again. Room card keys are constantly not working. Apparently do not put those near your cell phone or a credit card or it wipes out the coding on it. Several people were always at the front desk about it. Its annoying when its 11pm and you cannot get into you room and you have to walk all the way back. The trolly's were inconsistent and often did not stop for you. If you have trouble walking or getting around this resort is not for you.

Amazing Resort as usual. As you know, our family has been going to the Bahia Principe resort for many years now and enjoy it each time we go to it.

The grounds have been upgraded since I've been there over 10 years ago. Love the cleanliness, the staff and the good service. As for covid, all the staff wore masks. Did not see many guests wearing any masks. They did have sanitizer everywhere but the crowds were often all together side by side wherever we went. It is up to the client to wear their masks if they want too. Since we have gone there numerous times, the front desk gave us VIP bracelets which allowed us to go to any resort  [... read more]such as the Esmeralda, Fantasia, etc.. Beautiful Resort

WE stayed at Bahia for 7 nights with our family friends in the the next room to us. It was wonderful experience! The resort's atmosphere is welcoming and inviting. Family friendly areas of the pools, restaurants. Employees are very friendly and trying there best to be helpful and efficient. It's very clean, well maintained resort. Foods variety at the buffet is great and fresh. The resort has been full, but it didn't affect the cleanness and comfort. They take every step to make it safe, disinf [... read more]ect public common areas, have personal sanitizing supply available for use every where it meant to be. The beach is big and beautiful. The only thing is seaweed accumulation should be maintained more efficiently. We loved our vacation at Bahia and have wonderful memories!

I was very welcome and Base on covid they were all followed the saty protocols in other to keep everyone safe ,I don't mind going back or advice my friends to go the sea was not clean at all but I managed I enjoyed it

Amazing Resort

The grounds were prestine. The buffets were outstanding!! The alacartes were TOP NOTCH!!!!!!!! The maid service in the room was not so good (clean yes, but no coffee.3 days). Service in the lobby was poor, basically because they were short staffed compared to what we were used to the three times we stayed before. All in all......Great Resort

Fun Resort

This resort is a beautiful paradise that will meet the needs of all ages. The hotel is clean, the beach is breathtaking and the food is good. The staff are friendly and willing to help when needed. My family really enjoyed our stay!

Overall good resort

We had a great time. Beautiful poolsand beach. Small amount of seaweed. Very friendly staff. Food was pretty good. Would definitely recommend for the price. Rooms are a little out dated. Be aware there are several resorts on the Property and you only have access to a limited amount of restaurants and pools. Property was clean.

Bugs and more bugs

We had bus in our room that caused bites all over me feet and legs the 1incident they maintenance came and sprayed our room the next day we out told someone would be too our room in 15min no one showed up and we waited over an hour. When we went back to the front they asked us too be in our room at 4pm no one showed up. We went back to the forntdesk 2hours later we had a voucher for cream for the bits and signed a release for this incident. When my airline tryed to helpnthey said we signed off in the incident. Trip Central didn't respond at all

Great resort!

We upgraded to the Bahia Principe Esmeralda resort & the staff handled the upgrade quickly & efficiently. The a la carte restaurants were awesome for the most part. Some extra training for staff at the Mediterrenean restaurant would go a long way to alleviating the poor service there. All the other restaurants were great. Not 5 star as indicate,

The Hotel is good the location is not. The beach is not clean too many Leafs. All days were Rough ocean. staff poor English The shows were Good. Ala cart Restaurants is not that good. Units far away from the Facilities.

This is a beautiful resort!

We found the grounds, pools and beach clean and safe. The food was great and the people very friendly. Because of covid the staff all wore masks. The restaurants are very clean and everyone had to ware their mask unless eating or drinking.

Dissatisfied traveler

Honestly I was expecting better!!! I was in another Bahia Principe hotel years ago better experience back then The hotel staff was so rude. the driver who took us to the hotel yelled to us because we didn’t know the location of the hotel. Same hotel different lobbies. The receptionist yelled to me, he didn’t provide good instructions and thought that we are already familiar with what was going on. The cleaning of the rooms was poor, beds not properly made just sheet straight a bit a [... read more]nd that was all, washrooms weren’t clean…you could see the sand and dirt on floor and sink from the day before. Waitress were sometime helpful sometimes not…I ordered drinks that never came. Pools were clean at least and the spa as good I paid extra for it. I met my family there after 2 years of this COVID craziness. That was the positive point.

Fantastic Vacation

I was thoroughly impressed with this resort & would return in the future. The food was excellent, with lots of variety & al a carte restaurants. The grounds are clean and well groomed. The protocols in place for Covid were excellent and the majority of guests did abide by those guidelines. The only thing I was disappointed in was the beach area. A Resort To Go To

During Covid worries, don't hesitate about going here. Immaculate and safety precautions that I definitely felt good about. In addition the resort itself was beautifully kept, grounds are amazing and rooms are satisfying, comfortable and very clean. The staff from administrative to cleaners and to buffet and restaurant/bar staff were receptive, accommodating to requests, and overall have a very helpful and kind attitude. What can I say...

What can I say?? We love Bahia resorts and as a 9 time guest we were quite excited to be going back to Punta Cana. This however, turned out to be our least favorite experience. We had issues at check-in, a crappy bed, and the food was just mediocre. We understand that some things may be affected by the COVID times however our trip was slightly disappointing to us. We have come to expect a higher standard from Bahia. Nothing that we experienced (or didn't experience) was enough to ruin our v [... read more]acation however it may make us reconsider which Bahia location we travel to next, if at all. The beach, grounds and pools are beautiful no matter what.

Great place

We go to bahia resorts and they never fail. Great foods the staff are wonderful and talented. The rooms are impeccable. Even with all the restrictions still around there was lots to do. Three a la cart and buffets were great as well

Great resort and wonderful beach

Fortunate to have been at this resort two times before when staying at Bahia Ambar adult only resort next door. We were located in building 21 on the main floor which is one of the best locations at the resort near the beach and pool. This is one of the best beaches in Dominican Republic. Beautiful grounds and lobbies. Great food especially at the Indian and Italian restaurants. They hand out gloves for the buffet which are somewhat useless as they are difficult to use and stop the spread of p [... read more]otential surface contamination. Excellent maid service and friendly staff throughout the resort. Some of the negatives would be poor room service and other tourists at the resort. It is full of Russians as it is one of the few places they can go with their Russian vaccine. Many tourists around the bars outside were not distancing or wearing masks properly when required. This made us very uncomfortable with people being in our personal space many times a day. The other issue is terrible bar service. Because of Covid bar service is limited and you need to line up to get a drink. Beach and pool bars at pool level and many restaurants were closed. This is a 4 star resort and very large with hundreds if not thousands of rooms. The resort requires upgrading and maintenance in certain areas. Three train services run regularly. Like I mentioned earlier we got lucky with our room location. I would never book this resort but I won the trip paying for taxes(half the cost). It was only 50 percent full while we were there due to Covid and being off season. That is changing and at the end of our week it was getting busier. PCR tests went okay and cost $82 US each. There is a lot of red tape travelling, QR codes and APPS etc. so you need to be very organized. We were searched by narcotics officers and drug sniffing dogs at the airport. If you are booking this resort you should have a wonderful vacation, just be prepared for red tape and other potential safety issues. Bahia does what they can to make the trip enjoyable and safe. We had a great vacation as we are experienced travellers and were familiar with the location and knew what to expect. 31 and sunny every day😎
