Starfish Discovery Bay: Good little tesort

We stayed from Jan 12 -20 this resort is an older property but well kept has one of the nicest beaches on the island usually very calm . The food was very good not a huge amount of choice but it was all home made and tasty . The staff are friendly and helpful even though they are all losing there jobs in April as the resort has been sold and going to be leveled and rebuilt.i would recommend this resort it is a 3 star but it is good bargain.i would also recommend The trip central agent Jenny [... read more] Peng she was very helpful and attentive

Sandals Barbados: Epic Wedding

Sandals Barbados / Royal Sandals was the perfect venue for such a large destination wedding. The choice of a la Carte restaurants, the numerous bars/pools and fantastic staff made the week extremely enjoyable. Only negative was the 2 hours wait at the airport when we arrived.

We enjoyed all aspects of the resort, the room was very clean and comfortable. The Food at all of the restaurants was very good. We especially enjoyed Kimonos and Soy. All of the staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs.

I was pleasantly surprised with the resort. I thought that staying at Sandals Barbados vs Sandals Royale there would be a significant difference, but it was seamless. No difference at all. The room was great, clean with an attentive housekeeping staff. The grounds are beautiful. The one thing that was very annoying was the having to reserve at 5-6 of the better restaurants - and yet, there always seemed to be empty table when you walked by in the evening. Overall a great stay. This was our first stay with Sandals and our first visit to Barbados. Immediately we felt comfortable and safe due to the sincerity and friendliness of all locals we encountered from start to finish. We are avid travelers, admittedly a more Boutique Hotel experience is our thing, but the overwhelming majority of the Sandals employees proved that bigger hotels can be made too feel small. Sandals Barbados: Great time!

Amazing restaurants and beautiful grounds. Lots of pools to hang out in. The beach and sand are gorgeous. We had so much fun hanging out with our friends. Butch's is a fan favourite, and I highly recommend the Hibachi restaurant. Service is a little slow so you have to get on island time and go with the flow.

Very clean and staff was very accommodating. Food was excellent. Rooms were very clean. The grounds where kept clean. Very relaxing time. Lots of activities to do right at the resort. Beaches were very clean.

Sandals Barbados: Amazing time!

The resort was awesome. We took lots of advantage of the rooftop pool and the food was incredible. Best resort I’ve ever been to, hands down. Staff was also unbelievably friendly - every single person was amazing. I was so impressed with how fun the week was, and how fun the wedding was, that I’m seriously considering doing my wedding as a destination wedding as well.

Barbados Beach Club: Good hotel

Very nice place to stay. Food was good. The rooms were clean. Great for couples. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Good entertainment nightly. The beach was lovely with enough lounge chairs. Location was good close to Bridgetown.

Coconut Court: Beachfront Beauty

Beautiful, friendly beachfront hotel. Great location with many restaurants within a leisurely 15-30 minute walk. Recently renovated standard rooms are gorgeous!! Beach balcony views. Music playing almost every night.

Coconut Court: good value in a great location

December 2019.. We recently stayed at the Coconut court hotel for a 5 night stay and would highly recommend this resort! All of the rooms are waterfront with amazing seaside and sunset views.(not the annex though) Many of the rooms have been recently renovated to a high standard with no shortcomings. You must be comfortable with stairs as there is no way to avoid them. The breakfast was complete with your typical omelette station and several other hot dishes as well as your fruits and cereals. [... read more] I would recommend the breakfast plan, and then eat out and about for the rest of your day. Excellent pizza across the road at mama mia's with several restaurants within a fifteen minute walk. The hotels own restaurant is very good as well. Two bars are on site , one on the beach with snack foods, and another by the pool. There was usually light evening entertainment till around ten by the pool. Jakes bar is across the street for a more lively nightlife scene. The beach is absolutely lovely with the mile long seaside boardwalk just a short beach walk away to the east (left). Lots of beach chairs and lots of shade if you want it. The water is generally calm with a small reef just off shore in waist to shoulder deep water with lots of fish life to admire. No beach toys to take out if that is important to you. Public buses and "Beep Beep" buses are available right outside the hotel to take you into Bridgetown, Oistins or wherever you want for only $3.50 Bajan Dollars. It is about a three kilometer walk into downtown Bridgetown, doable but hot. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to just about anyone. Not 5 star luxury but certainly a very nice comfortable vacation spot.

Barbados Beach Club: Not great

This was not the best I’ve been too there was no 24 hour bar or snack bar there was really no entertainment. The beds were hard had the worst sleep. The food was amazing and staff were nice , was a very clean hotel. I would not return

Bougainvillea Beach Resort: Beyond expectations

Marvelous resort. Very modern and clean. Beach is very sandy; no pebbles or seashells and no seaweed or rocks. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return. If you go, ask for a ground level room as its 'balcony' blends into the pool deck and the ocean is just a few steps away.

Barbados Beach Club: Room with a View

Upon arrival at Barbados Beach Club (BBC), we were met at reception with a warm greeting.Deonne Harding, from the Reservation dept. had arranged an upgraded Oceanfront room, on the 5th floor, at an additional cost of $20.00 US per night.This was money well spent.She, kindly, accompanied us to the room to ensure we approved of the gorgeous view of the entire coastline and the blazing sunset.The very large window on the east side of this room gave us the morning sunrise, while the Oceanfront balco [... read more]ny provided a stunning view of the sunset every.Our room was clean and everything functioned well, with no problems for the entire 8 night stay.All of the staff we encountered were very pleasant and always cheerful to us as their guests.Much negativity has been written about the food offered at this hotel, on TripAdvisor's website.Suffice it to say that while "you can't please all the people, all of the time", the food was good every single day.The a la carte choices were all good each of the 3 nights we ate at the Reefview Restaurant.The buffet was a bit repetitious, but there was always something good to eat, every time.The Sunday roast beef dinner was very good indeed.The weekly Manager's Cocktail Party was a lot of fun, with some very tasty snacks.The bar was also good, however an extra person is needed from the time they open each day.Our guide, from BBC, to the Friday Night Fish Fry in Oistins was very helpful for us to get a great place to enjoy the festivities.The beach was powdery soft sand.The beautiful blue water was captivating to see as the waves rolled in.There was a helpful person everyday, from BBC, to provide you with an umbrella at your chosen place on the beach.We had a wonderful vacation while staying at BBC.It offered everything we needed to make this a memorable trip.We are hopeful to return again.Thank-you BBC.

The Rockley by Ocean Hotels: The Hotel that makes a difference

There was a friendly welcome with a free fruit punch or Rum punch. The surroundings were quiet clean with bathers enjoying the pool. The apartment was spacious and lend a sense of belonging. The staff was eager to offer any information requested. Would make it my vacation place of choice.

People are very friendly & out there to please you. Very clean resort Nice pools Nice & clean beaches Catamaran were in good shape & feel safe as the seadoo was ready to help you if needed. food & beverage were excellent

Waves Resort and Spa: Gorgeous resort!

The hotel was beautiful, food and staff amazing. All water sports included. Water taxi available to take you to its sister resorts. Beds are so comfy, slept well. Very very warm, my only suggestion is they make sure all their ceiling fans are working in the bar area.

Starfish Discovery Bay: Great trip

The hotel is outdated and needs freshened up. They are closing in April 2020 for what sounds to be a pretty big renovation. We would love to go back and see how it looks afterwards. The food was amazing. Not a large menu but perfect for us and always yummy. I am not a "fish" lover The beach... amazing!!! Not too many locals bugging you to purchase things. Mango Bay: Mango Bay Resort in Barbados

People are friendly, resort small & easy to get to anything. Accommodations dated. Resort gives absolutely no info on arrival of Barbados or anything they offer as a resort such as boat cruises, activities. WiFi is the worst we have ever come across. On day 13 of 14 we found out there is a sister resort in Barbados that you can visit or eat at. The info we received was always from other guests. Caribbean Sea is crystal clear but there is a huge drop that makes getting in or out very difficult [... read more]. Pool is nice but needs tile repairs. Entertainment was disappointing as there was no Caribbean music & usually just a singer with computer music for backup. Food is just ok. Nothing to want to go back for. Very expensive vacation that was not a 4* as advertised.

Starfish Discovery Bay: Relaxing couples vacation except for the whistling frogs!

The Starfish Discovery Bay was everything we were looking for. Small and quaint, low key and friendly, lush vegetation and a fantastic beach with good snorkeling. Coral sand, no seaweed, no lionfish, no jellyfish...wow! We saw turtle hatchlings, green monkeys, mongoose, butterflies, and many different birds on the property. Being a light sleeper, I was really annoyed by the loudness of the whistling frogs, which are only as big as half the length of my thumb. Being that it was their humid season, we were shocked that there were so very few bugs and that we didn't even so much as receive one bite. We did not see the hotel spray so maybe it's the bats that take care of them, as we saw many at dusk and dawn.The entire Bajan staff is the prime reason we enjoyed our vacation so much. After our A|C stopped working on our second night, we were very quickly moved to a different room without our asking. Their hospitality was tops. We enjoyed some local dishes on site such as ackee and salt fish, blackened fish, jerked chicken, coconut and banana bread. The only thing that was amiss was the lack of local tropical fruit and only because it was out of season. Mangos were done and papaya was still maturing. Also, as I'm spoiled with having my own espresso machine, I really did miss my cappuccinos.Their coffee was subpar and they do not use cream. I was also surprised that they serve refined sugar as they only produce and export raw. We did get to enjoy fresh coconut offsite as those were aplenty. We truly enjoyed a half day tour of the island with Mr. Paul Payne of 1ST IMPRESSIONS. He knows the island like the back of his hand as he's a paramedic by profession. We saw North Point, Cherry Tree Hill and it's Morgan Lewis Mill, Bathsheba and it's Andromeda Botanical Gardens and Earthworks Pottery and Gallery. We will definitively return to Barbados upon the completion of the Starfish Discovery renovations. We will book in the winter or spring to get more local fruit and look forward to visiting the rest of the this lovely island.
