Vanlentines week at the Valentin Imperial Maya

My Wife and I have been to allot of resorts in the Carib. and this one ranks one of the best. The grounds are very luxurious and spacious. Not once did we feel crowded or felt like the staff didn't have the time to give us that individual attention when we required it. The property has the feel of a grandiose Mexican/Spanish private plantation with peacefulness and solitude that makes you feel relaxed from the moment you first arrive to the time the Bellmen puts your luggage in the limo for the  [... read more]ride to the airport. The beach area was well cared for, the seaweed and any debris was cleared everyday, there were plenty of lounge chairs and cabanas to go around. We opted for the privilege package that provided us with our own personalized Cabana as well as many other amenities. It was well worth the few extra $, great value. The food was very good, and we had a large variety of ethnicity to choose from, in fact it was so good I made a glutton of myself and had to fast for a full day once I got home just to feel hungry again. I would like to give a big shout out to the concierge staff, especially Jerrod, Francisco & Mauricio. You all made us feel very special and we would like to thank you for that. The Valentin Imperial Maya was recommended to us by a close friend and we have already recommended it to other friends. We cant speak about the excursions that the resort offers, we only went there for solitude and beach therapy, we found both. Thank you to all the staff there.

No complaints!!

Well kept... beautiful grounds.... amazing food and options..... Never feel like you are in a crowd.....beautiful scenery at meal time and from the balcony. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Activities are fun and the nightly entertainment is above normal resort quality. Great vacation! .........Unless you buy a privilege package.... Yu still need to be up early to get prime beach and pool spots...

Valentin

It certainly wasn’t what we experienced two years ago. The service wasn’t as good and you can tell there have been cutbacks at the restaurants. It disappoints me that the wind blows constantly and that the beach and watersports are not really available and the red flags seem to be constantly up.

Nice resort,

The main buildings were very nice and our residential building was very nice. The grounds were very well kept, awesome beach. The food was not as good. Cold and tough. The wait staff also was not as good. Very slow and we are still waiting for some things that we ordered at meal time. We were surprised that there was only 4 beers in the mini bar in the room. We don’t drink beer and room service would only bring 2 glasses of wine no liquor

Great vacation!

Beautiful resort, lots of beautiful gardens. Food was amazing, quality of drinks exceptional. Rooms where clean and well laid out. Easy access to beach and restaurants. Only issue was it was a long walk to the washroom from beach swimming area. Need to have more washrooms close to beach.Everything else was perfect.

Grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. Staff was lovely. Rooms were large and clean Beach was clean, great sand and waves just right - water was warm. Restaruants were frecsh and nice drinks were awesome, and staff happy to serve them the food was just mediocre compared to other resorts with the same ratings. food service was great - hot and fast - lots of choices. alot of walking on this resort. Not enough signs to keep you on track - took a group of 5 about 4 days before we [... read more] really figured out what was where and the quickest way to get where we were going. the pool water was really really cold - every single person that stepped into it had a comment about the how cold the water was. We choose the sea as it was warmer. No one sits at the swim up bars, it is just too cold. there is no dinner buffet and no reservations in restaurants, so we waiting on average about 1 hour and 15 minutes every night for dinner. One of our rooms had no hot water for the entire 9 days, even after mentioning it several times, also had a toilet that ran on and on, so every flush we had to reach in the tank and fix it. chairs at the pool and beach require playing the game. First 4 days, 5 of us could not get chairs at the beach or at the pool at around 10 am. Although the hotel says they enforce a "dont leave a towel on your chair to reserve it" policy, they don't! So up we get at 7 am to place towels on chairs, which worked for a couple of days, then all of a sudden we all gone for lunch to come back to our chairs being occupied by others that said the hotel staff took our towels off so they could have the chairs???? Really big disappoinment. The excursion staff are awesome and helpful as were the bellboys. All in all - the resort was nice but i would not return.

As Expected - Met All Expectations

3rd stay at Valentin and this time I took my 3 daughters; once again, I (we all) would go back! The food and service was the best, at all of the several a la carte restaurants as well as the breakfast and lunch buffets in which we ate, and there was never a long lineup. The grounds were immaculate, the rooms were kept spotless, and as per usual, the staff were always friendly and accommodating. Great value for what I rate to be a "6 star" resort. Outstanding

Great resort, supurb food, georgeous beach, beautiful rooms, exquisite restaurants, friendly service... honestly everything was wonderful... only thing that would have been nicer would be to have extra lounges at the beach... other that that our trip was Fantastic.. what more could anyone ask for...

Valentin - January 15-29/2019

Air Transat to and from - very good Ground Transport - direct, very good. Check In/out - very good Room - central location. Very good. Food and Service - very good. Towel service - very good. Grounds - immaculate. Beach/Pool - Too much competition for a lounge chair and umbrella. Not enough loungers for the number of guests. Staff - very good Bar Service - very good. Entertainment - very good.

Everything we hoped for

The resort is absolutely beautiful with gardens & greenery everywhere. The accommodations were very comfortable, we upgraded to a Golden Suite overlooking the Lazy River & glad we did. The beach has deep sand & you can walk fir as long as you want. We weren’t able to use a catamaran due to high winds all week. Although there are plenty of signs asking guest not to reserve sun beds, it was quite frustrating to arrive at the beach st 9:30 am & not find a spot; the same as the pools. There is s  [... read more]great selection of restaurants & they don’t take reservations so timing is important if you don’t want to wait for an hour. I found service was not always consistent for getting your drinks especially in the very busy restaurants, they seem a little disorganized but we are on vacation & can wait! We really enjoyed the activities that were available every day such as Pool Biking, TRX classes, Sunrise Yoga, Pilates & more. We have never met so many guests who return year after year to this resort so the Valentin is a great place to go!

A lovely resort!

This resort is meticulously clean and the attention to detail is brilliant. Far superior to any Sandal resorts. Staff are very courteous and food was excellent. Their return customers are increasing in numbers and it is easy to see why.

Still a great resort

Our third time there. We wouldn't be back if it wasn't awesome. We had a great time again. We did notice that the restaurant service was quite a bit slower when we went for dinner. Maybe they lost some staff, but we did notice the change. We had an issue with an air conditioner leak, but with the help of the concierge (Regina) it was very quickly solved. This is still a great place and a great value for a vacation.

Very good!!

The food was amazing and the resort absolutely beautiful. My parents did have an issue with bugs in their room but it was dealt with. I would also recommend that the hotel puts in more ladders into the pool in the swim up area for older people to get in and out in more areas. Our room smelled a bit musty and I think was in an older part of the hotel. But all in all was still excellent.

Fantastic resort

Grounds are amazing. New staff need some time to learn the Valentine's excellent service. Food is very good in all the restaurant. Rooms are excellent, and maid service was fantastic. This was our 4th visit can't wait to return for our 5th visit.

Wow, amazing resort.

Everything about this place was awesome. The food, the service, and cleanliness of the resort was top notch. From the minute you are greeted at the front, until the time you leave, you are treated like royalty. We payed a little more for the privilege package, and to us, it was worth it. The regular guests had to walk a ways, for both of these. The gardens, pools, water fountains, buildings walkways and scenery was spectacular. The service from Francisco at the beach, Daniel the manager and Arturo at the Ginger house was excellent. Stephanie and Mauricio at the front welcome desk and concierge services went beyond expectations. With staff like this, this place will always be great. We really only have 3 complaints about the whole resort, and they are not that bad: #1 - more live music. The bands at night only play for an hour or two, then a DJ takes over. Expand the band time, reduce the DJ time. #2 - Mandarin collared, or short collared shirts should be acceptable. The waiters were wearing this type, yet guest cannot. #3 - Change up the locations of the entertainment. Not always at the same location. Other things to note. This resort requires collared shirts, long pants and closed shoes for the restaurants. Mandarin or short collars not acceptable. This resort is very spread out. So walking from one side to another takes a little time. This was great for us, because I always eat too much, and this let's me walk it off. There are carts that will take you anywhere you want to go, if you prefer. Almost everyone we talked to, were returned vacationers. This says a lot right there. Yes, we would definitely come back here again, and would recommend this to any adults seeking sun, fun, relaxation, and romance.

Beautiful Place

We had the Emerald Suite and it was absolutely beautiful. We had an ocean front room which was quite private. The staff at the hotel were always pleasant and they always treated you as a priority. One of the things that I didn't like was that I was with nine other people (so 10 of us in total) and most of the restaurants wouldn't sit us together. The max they would sit together was 8. Amazing resort!

We really enjoyed our stay at VIM! The staff were attentive and friendly. They knew our names and referred to the resort as "our home". The food was very good and you will enjoy every restaurant experience. The ocean is beautiful turquoise colored water and angel fish come in with each swell. First Class

This is my forth visit to the Valentin and will be going back in January. The service is amazing and the food is was beyond expectations. Can't say enough about the resort... Grounds were very clean morning and night. We never had to wait long for a ride to the lobby. Particularly like the night life. Just lots to wander around and look at, different entertainment every night.

Excellent resort!

Resort was wonderful, our room was really nice. The food was amazing, every a la carte restaurant we loved. Service from all employees was great. Only thing to complain about was some seaweed at the beach

Simply Amazing

I had my doubts as my last all inclusive was not that great. The Valentin Imperial Maya however was a very different experience. This place is beautiful, immaculate and well maintained. No detail is overlooked including the hotel stamp pressed into the sand on the outside ashtrays! ( and I don’t even smoke!) The grounds are stunning and the property design is very easy to navigate, We stayed in building three which was convenient to restaurants, the lazy river, the main pool and the beach. [... read more] We didn’t mind walking but there were golf cart shuttles easily accessible in all parts of the resort. I can’t say enough about the staff who were SUPER friendly and that includes everyone from servers, to gardeners, to concerige. The restaurants had little or no wait time. Our favourite stop was the Martini Bar which quickly became a nightly tradition! I can’t wait to return!
